That momentum was carried over into 2020 as she began the year by being selected by the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) to perform at their massive Winter Show in Anaheim, California, where more than 100 thousand attendees converge for four days of tradeshow and conference activity.  While out west, Frankie also had the opportunity to perform at the House of Blues Anaheim.  Frankie Raye has artist deals with G7th Capos and Mogami Cables. ● Media Inquiries: Bruce Wawrzyniak Now Hear This www.NowHearThis.net

Today's Episode Dr. Raj talks with Monique Powell from ska band Save Ferris. They discuss their shared love of the genre, her journey from ballet to opera to punk rock, and the importance of mental health advocacy in the creative community.  Today's Guest Monique Powell was classically trained from the age of 11 with a passion for punk at the age of 9. While her first love was ballet, she knew she was going to be in a band after hearing The Specials for the first time at 13. At 19, after singing in an all-girls ska band and Zappa-inspired experiment called Larry, Monique found herself singing in an Orange County ska band called Save Ferris. Little did she know, she was living smack in the middle of a music phenomenon. Save Ferris was part of what soon became known as the third wave of ska music. Within months, Save Ferris was signed to Epic Records and spent the following years touring the world.  In 2013, Monique acquired full ownership of the band name. Under her leadership, Monique has been riding higher than ever, shimmying, burlesquing, and belting her way from stage to stage and country to country spreading her gospel. Monique being a survivor of many things, her life goal is to help and to heal.  Save Ferris is performing at House of Blues Anaheim on November 18, 2022! Grab your tickets here: https://livemu.sc/3FblSDX   About Dr. Raj Dr Raj is a quadruple board certified physician and associate professor at the University of Southern California. EPISODE 30 - EXTERNAL Version for Non-Spotify Listeners High energy Rock and Roll, best when played at full volume. Moxy and The Influence are four young Southern California rockers who bring it with power and drive to every performance. Their original all-female sound is a modern mix of all that was great in the 80's hard rock scene, and all that continues to move audiences today. Bursting onto the So, this young band surprised audiences with hit-worthy original rock songs combined with a high-energy stage performance, complete with headbanging and crowd interaction. Catchy lyrics infused with a message of individualism spanned generations and touch minds and hearts, inspiring listeners to think on greater things. The band of teenagers, fueled by nothing more than their love for music and their desire to exercise their passion for art, has soared to unprecedented heights in progress and musicianship. Their face-melting performances have been witnessed at such iconic venues as The Whisky A Go-Go, The House of Blues Anaheim, The Orange County Fair, The Coach House, M15, Silverlake Lounge, The Yost Theater, and Chain Reaction. They are Moxy and The Influence. They will influence you. They will rock you. They will quicken your pulse and awaken your soul. They might just melt your face, but it will be a great and glorious death. AWARDS & ACCOLADES (for a complete list of awards, visit the "press/news" tab) Moxy and The Influence received an early industry nod before their first gig with an HMMA (Hollywood Music in Media Award) nomination in 2013 and an OC Music Awards nomination in early 2014. On December 31, 2013, the band was notified that they had won a $100,000 fully-produced music video from BigAndFamous.com. That video (ME4ME) was released in summer 2014. Their next music video for the hit single, ALIVE, was directed by C.G. Ryche and released in early 2015. Moxy and The Influence received the HMMA award for the 2014 Rock Song of the Year for their song Vampire Valentine, won an Indie Battle Of The Bands competition shortly after their 1-year anniversary, and was named on the Music Connection Magazine's annual Hot 100 Live Unsigned Artists list. Their song, Alive, was nominated for another HMMA award in 2015. They have been played on dozens of online and FM radio broadcasts all over the world and are swiftly gaining momentum in the local and national music scene. In June of 2015 they headlined the nine-state BREATHE SCREAM SURVIVE Tour on the West Coast/Midwest of the US. Looking forward to 2016, expect to see a new EP and music video, two performances at Rocklahoma, an appearance on 95.5 KLOS (Los Angeles), and several summer mini-tours on the West Coast. http://www.moxyandtheinfluence.com/ @addtomyplaylistpodcast on all social platforms https://truemediasolutions.ca/add-to-my-playlist podcast presented by True Media Solutions

Max went 3-1 and Arch went 3-0 in the NFL this weekend.  All the Degens make their NBA picks and Max gives us his NHL picks.    Excerpts from Max's Notes:    NBA Bulls at Celtics Both teams coming off wins on Saturday that broke losing streaks. For Boston, it was a big blowout win home against a Pelicans team that had been surging prior to that. Jason Tatum continues to show progress as an all around offensive weapon and Boston improved to 15-3 at home. The Bulls beat up the Pistons on Saturday and didn’t need the points they were getting. The Bulls can’t win on the road very well but their ATS is 10-8-1. Pelicans at Pistons The Pelicans ran into a Boston buzzsaw OBS Saturday but head to Detroit to play a Pistons team who are losers of 2 in a row. The Pelicans are dealing with a ton of injuries at the moment. Derrick Favor, Drew Holiday and JJ Reddick all missed Saturday’s game and are listed as questionable today. For Detroit, they limited Andre Drummond’s minutes to 19 in their loss to the Bulls and that’s a sign he’s probably going to be traded soon. Can’t believe the Pelicans are favored here but Detroit is an absolute mess right now. 76ers at Pacers Philly lost again on the road on Saturday and it’s becoming a serious concern for a team that has title aspirations. I get they are playing without Embiid but these road woes predated his injury. They head to Indiana where they lost on the road on New Year’s Eve. The Pacers are 2-3 in that span and managed a win on Friday without Brogdon and Sabonis. Miles Turner and T.J. Warren led the way on Friday and might need to tonight with Brogdon and Sabonis listed as questionable. Hard not to like Indiana getting points at home but you have to expect Philly to win some games on the road. Thunder at Timberwolves OKC ran into the B squad of the Lakers and didn’t take them seriously. And Rondo turned into playoff Rondo before our eyes as he and Kyle Kuzma destroyed the Thunder on Saturday night. Now OKC heads to Minnesota to play a Timberwolves team that lost by 30 on the road in Houston. Minnesota is actually a better team on the road than at home this season and with KAT still questionable it’s hard not to like OKC in this one. Magic at Kings Both teams have had a few days off after suffering losses on Friday. For Orlando, it was a close loss in Phoenix to the Suns that dropped them to 5-13 on the road. The Kings got blown out at home by a far superior Bucks team. The Magic played without Aaron Gordon on Friday and he’s questionable today. The Kings continue to play without Bagley and Bogdanovich which is putting more pressure on De’Aaron Fox. The Magic do better ATS on the road than the Kings do at home ATS and this is a spot where I like them getting the points. Hornets at Blazers Charlotte lost their fourth in a row yesterday and now fly from Phoenix to Portland to play a Blazers team that has looked terrible in two straight losses. I don’t think I’ve officially buried the Blazers on this show but my patience with them to turn things around has grown thin. They are 8-10 at home straight up and 6-11-1 ATS. The played without Whiteside on Saturday and their big 3 all played well but they still lost by 20 to the Bucks. Whiteside is probable for tonight and the Blazers should get the win. Cavs at Lakers The Lakers are still dealing with some injuries but looks like Avery Bradley and LeBron James should play tonight. Anthony Davis is still questionable and now Rajon Rondo is too. Not sure if that matters with LeBron’s former team coming to town sporting their 6-13 road record. But Cleveland has won 2 in a row including a big win in Denver on Saturday. The Lakers are 8-2 in their last 10 games but only 5-4-1 ATS. I do think they could cover this one but a few points to chalky for me. NHL Flames at Canadians The Flames are, pun intended, hot right now. They head to Montreal to face a Canadians team that finally got a win on Saturday. It was a close win over a lowly Ottawa team but a win nonetheless. All good things must come to an end and the Flames will lose one soon. Just not sure it’s tonight. Islanders at Rangers The Islanders have been a mediocre team lately but that could be because of their schedule. Other than a pair of games against the Devils, the Islanders have had to play some of the league’s better teams. The Rangers are not one of the league’s better teams but they are pretty good at home. The money is coming in on the Rangers and I’ve done well fading the money in the NHL recently. Bruins at Flyers The Flyers lost a 1-0 game to a great Lightning team on Saturday and now welcome a surging Bruins team. Boston has won 3 in a row and look to sneak out a win in Philly today. The Flyers are 14-3-4 at home this season and the thought of them losing two in a row at home is tough but I think it happens. Hurricanes at Capitals Great matchup here. Carolina was slumping a bit but have won 3 in a row now while the Capitals have dropped two straight after an embarrassing 5-1 loss to the Devils on Saturday. Everyone is on Washington here to bounce back. They are 13-5-4 at home but Carolina can win on the road. Wish the payout was higher here so it’s only a little reward for a slight risk. Ducks at Blues Anaheim has lost 3 in a row after their 4-2 loss to the Blackhawks on Saturday. The Blues have won 3 in a row and are 16-4-3 at home this year. Money and public are on St. Louis and can’t say I disagree.   The site:  https://absolutedegeneracy.com/ The NFL show, NHL projections, NBA projections, our "Degen Score" that we use in the Mutual Fund betting, Max's write-ups and more over on Patreon! https://www.patreon.com/absolutedegeneracy The Discord Chat: https://discord.gg/rFC3vEa Follow us on Twitter: twitter.com/bettingabsolute Facebookers: https://www.facebook.com/sportsbettingdegeneracy/

Andrea Desmond is an award-winning pop singer/songwriter based in Los Angeles, whose sultry sounds, conscious lyrics, positive attitude and high-energy stage presence radiate pure soul.Andrea received training in songwriting under the guidance of her cousin Alan Menken, the Oscar-winning composer of such Disney classics as Beauty and the Beast and Aladdin. Her new song "Inner Fire", released October 1st, co-written with Natalia Bortolotti (Warner/ Chappell) and produced by SR (Randy Jackson), is inspired by the sounds of Sia, Ellie Goulding and Adele, among others. She recently signed to independent record label Love Harmony Music and to management firm Creative Music Agency.Additionally, Andrea has recently had her music licensed by the Discovery Network, which includes prominent partners such as TLC and the Oprah Winfrey Network. It was also licensed by the PBS Series “RoadTrip Nation” and with Magical Elves, which is known for its production of "Top Chef".Music has always been front and center in Andrea’s life. After receiving a Bachelors in Music degree (with an Emphasis on Composition), she hit the road and became the keyboardist/singer of a cover band playing the California and Nevada casino routes. After years of playing in other people’s bands, and playing other people’s music, she took the bold and courageous leap that all who aspire to follow their heart must do. She launched her solo career and fearlessly ran to her destiny.Andrea moved to Seattle in 2012, where she quickly formed a band and further developed her sound and writing style with producer Martin Feveyear (Presidents of the United States of America, Kings of Leon, Mudhoney), to local acclaim. Myseattlenightout.com called her Seattle's "indie pop sweetheart,” and Seattle Wave Radio noted that "her career is already off to a fast start, and we expect to see a lot more of this amazing young artist." The band made it to the finals in local competitions, participated in radio interviews, and played around the city from the Crocodile to the Showbox. In 2013 Desmond was signed to indie label Spectra Records, where she released the EP Open Spaces, and was nominated for “Best Singer” in the Shorty Awards. Additionally, her song Run won Best Singer/Songwriter for the Akademia Music Awards and first place in the Eco Arts Awards: Songs of Freedom Competition. This led reviewers, such as Music News Nashville to say, “In my mind she is a musical triple threat. She’s got a good look, she can write music/play piano, and she’s a great singer. It’s impressive how well her vocals at times shift from classical to even soulful. This reminds me of Adele, Lily Allen, Jessie J. and Imagine Dragons. Desmond is a captivating composer and singer within her own right.” Looking to further pursue her career, Andrea moved to Los Angeles in 2014, where she began performing frequently at the House of Blues, and ended up connecting with John 'Sly' Wilson, songwriter of Justin Timberlake's Billboard hit "Suit and Tie" for advice on the industry. From being a piano/vocal teacher and songwriting coach, to an assistant to a composer working on an upcoming PBS TV show, she began building a musical foundation within the L.A. area. Most recently she has released her latest single "Inner Fire", which represents a new era for her sound as a pop/top 40 artist. Her debut show for the new song was opening for VIPs of the House of Blues Anaheim at the Regina Spektor Concert. She was also featured in an interview on the single with I HEART RADIO and KISS 107.7 FM.Upon the release of "Inner Fire", articles have been written on NBC News, ABC News, Digital Journal, Skope Entertainment, The Fresh Committee Blog, Populove Magazine, Vents Magazine, EDM Sauce, Indie Reviews (featured artist), The Cool Noise (featured artist), Industry Reviewz (featured artist), and Kurrent Music, among many other publications. Andrea is currently recording new material with her producer and continually writing with her team. When one hears Andrea for the first time, it takes the listener from despair and delivers them to a culture of hope. Her music, along with a sweet and compassionate smile, combined with her angelic voice, reminds the listener of good times while taking them to another dimension.Or simply, as Indie Shark Reviews acclaims, “She seems a likeable, genuine, and all around kindhearted person. Sometimes a good heart and a nice voice is all it takes to reach the next level. Her future is bright and full of potential.”

Her music, along with a sweet and compassionate smile, combined with her angelic voice, reminds the listener of good times while taking them to another dimension. Or simply, as Indie Shark Reviews acclaims, “She seems a likeable, genuine, and all around kindhearted person. Sometimes a good heart and a nice voice is all it takes to reach the next level. Her future is bright and full of potential.”
