The weather is hotter than a dashboard in August, which naturally leads the gang to ask the important scientific questions... like whether eating ridiculously spicy food actually cools you off or if someone's "Mexican friend" just made that up.Then things take an unexpected turn when the crew debates one of life's biggest questions: January or July? One side argues for sunshine, pools and BBQs, while the other passionately defends fireplaces, blankets and seasonal depression. Somehow everyone makes a compelling argument... even if none of it makes any sense.Meanwhile, Learn officially declares Dry July after an absolutely legendary night that ended exactly the way every adult swears will "never happen again." The crew relives embarrassing hangover stories, questionable late-night food choices, mysterious sink incidents, and enough bad decisions to make every listener suddenly want a glass of water. As if that wasn't enough chaos, the conversation shifts toward dangerous TikTok trends after reports of the Benadryl Challenge resurfacing. The crew mixes genuine concern with their trademark sarcasm while reminiscing about all the unbelievably dumb things their own generation somehow survived. There's also plenty of discussions about American air conditioning, European heat waves, saunas, spicy snacks during a heat advisory, weird summer traditions, and why every generation somehow invents new ways to accidentally knock themselves unconscious.Basically... if you've ever questioned your life choices while sweating through your shirt, this episode is for you.Whether you're listening at work, in traffic, by the pool, or hiding from the heat with the AC cranked to "meat locker," this daily comedy show delivers exactly the kind of ridiculous conversations you've come to expect from The Rizzuto Show.If you're new around here, welcome to your newest bad habit. And if you've been listening for years... thanks for continuing to encourage this behavior.Don't forget to subscribe, leave a review, and share the show with someone who definitely needs to hear the story about vomiting with the toilet lid closed. If you're looking for a daily comedy show full of ridiculous stories, sarcastic humor, weird news, and friends who overshare for your entertainment... congratulations. Some mornings you wake up ready to solve the world's biggest problems. Other mornings you argue about whether sleeves are optional and accidentally stumble into a debate about the future of an entire city. Welcome to another daily comedy show from The Rizzuto Show.Moon returns from a weekend of Summerfest adventures looking suspiciously sleeveless after performing in Milwaukee and Michigan. Naturally, the gang immediately assumes his sleeves were abandoned somewhere across state lines. From there, things only get weirder. The crew dives into stories from Summerfest, why the Midwest might secretly know how to throw the perfect music festival, and why St. Louis deserves a festival that could rival the country's biggest events. That conversation somehow turns into a surprisingly thoughtful—and hilariously sarcastic—discussion about downtown St. Louis, why people avoid it, what could actually bring people back, and whether the Gateway City is getting a little unfairly roasted...or completely earning it.Then comes Moon's unbelievable hotel story. After grabbing a quick nap before a show, a woman walks into his hotel room thanks to a key mix-up. Instead of the hotel apologizing to him, the guest claims Moon was completely naked—which he absolutely was not. Cue one of the funniest lobby confrontations you'll hear this year as Moon loudly reminds everyone who the real victim was. It's awkward, ridiculous, and exactly the kind of story that somehow only happens to this show.Meanwhile, the Hubbard company outing turns into an unexpected obsession thanks to custom cowboy hats, leather goods, and one very enthusiastic mobile hat bar. The crew debates belts versus hats, Rafe accidentally becomes "wallet brothers" with a leather craftsman, and everyone agrees that giving adults arts-and-crafts somehow creates better office morale than any motivational seminar ever could. You'll also hear conversations about concerts, Kenny Loggins nostalgia, summer festivals, downtown development, touring life, travel disasters, baseball-adjacent apartment envy, and enough sarcastic commentary to keep HR slightly concerned—but not enough to schedule another meeting. As always, it's the random detours that make everything better. One minute they're discussing city planning, the next they're imagining luxury apartment life overlooking Busch Stadium before immediately returning to roasting each other for absolutely no reason. If you love smart conversations that refuse to stay serious for more than thirty seconds, you've found your people. Thanks for making The Rizzuto Show part of your morning and your favorite daily comedy show. Whether you're commuting, pretending to work, hiding from your responsibilities, or simply looking for a reason to laugh, we're glad you're here.Because if a discussion about missing sleeves, downtown revitalization, cowboy hats, and hotel room confusion somehow belongs in the same episode...well...that's just another perfectly normal daily comedy show around here.Follow The Rizzuto Show → https://linktr.ee/rizzshow for more from your favorite daily comedy show.Connect with The Rizzuto Show Comedy Podcast online → https://1057thepoint.com/RizzShow.Hear The Rizz Show daily on the radio at 105.7 The Point | Hubbard Radio in St. Louis, MO.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

The Homeric Question and Epic Tradition. Guest: Professor Emily Wilson. The identity of Homer remains a subject of intense scholarly debate, as the Iliad emerged from a long oral tradition that existed before the return of literacy to Greece in the 8th century BCE. For centuries, performing poets developed stories of heroes like Achilles and Agamemnon, using dactylic hexameter to aid memory and performance. The Iliad is a monumental written poem that takes a sophisticated approach to these familiar tales, often subverting expectations. Interestingly, it omits many "famous hits" like the Trojan Horse, the judgment of Paris, and the actual fall of Troy. Instead, it focuses on a mere month and a half of the ten-year war, centering on internal Greek conflict rather than just a battle against Trojans. Wilson notes that while she translates the work into iambic pentameter to capture its drive, the poem itself possesses the narrative complexity of a modern novel, utilizing techniques like shifting perspectives and narrator omniscience. She also mentions lost epic poems like the Cypria, which provided more backstory on Zeus's plan to reduce the human population through war. 2

A Monday playoff between Viktor Hovland and Scottie Scheffler will serve as an exclamation point to one of the best golf weekends of 2026 thus far. Andy and Brendan! are fired up for this episode, recorded after watching a birdie-fest at TPC River Highlands, another women's major, and Blockie's near-perfect Champions Tour debut. They can't help themselves and begin with a brief section on the Dick's Open, an event that made some consider if the Champions Tour really needs Tiger Woods at all. Upstate New York's finest sporting event provided plenty of fodder, from Bob Papa singing Zac Brown Band, to the emergence of a "Paddy Stopper," and so, so much Michael Block content. The two then move on to the unfinished Travelers Championship, where a score of -21 got into a playoff to be held on Monday morning. Andy and Brendan discuss Viktor Hovland's turnaround from hitting hundreds of balls on the Shinnecock range after a missed cut last week to now potentially a Signature Event win in just seven days. They also debate whether Scottie Scheffler already missed out on multiple chances to win the tournament in regulation on Sunday afternoon on an extra-soft course after a lengthy rain delay. Andy is hung up on a Keegan Bradley quote from earlier this week alluding to the Travelers as a "vacation week" after a tough U.S. Open, and openly wonders if TPC River Highlands can fit into the PGA Tour's new Championship Series model. While the event itself is enjoyable, does the golf course leave too much to be desired as true test of professional golf? Haeran Ryu won her first major championship at the KPMG Women's PGA at Hazeltine, holding off a charge from Brooke Henderson, Ina Yoon, and Nelly Korda. The broadcast coverage was the big story of this Sunday, with a weather delay pushing the finish off of NBC and moving it to Golf Channel. A lengthy discussion about rights deals and coverage windows ensues, with ideas about ways for the LPGA to branch out and not be buried by non-major PGA Tour events on its biggest weeks of the year. Lastly, Andy and Brendan react to Alan Shipnuck's latest article on Phil Mickelson, full of more scandalous details following up on the Golf Digest report about Phil being removed from The Farms in San Diego. If you are a massive weight loss patient planning your body contouring journey, dealing with recovery anxiety, or researching how to manage fluid collection (seromas) after skin removal surgery, this deep-dive guide is for you! SUBSCRIBE for more transparent, expert-led conversations on bariatric recovery and plastic surgery! https://www.youtube.com/c/OurSleevedLifePodcast?sub_confirmation=1 IN THIS EPISODE: We tackle the ultimate "drain debate." The conversation also veers into fantasy football, with the crew sharing some of the wildest last-place punishments they've seen, including the infamous Waffle House challenge and a league where the loser has to caddie for the winner.
