An episode from East River Baptist Church, a conservative, independent body of King James Bible believers located on the Northeast side of Houston, Texas. Our guest speaker was Bro. Gary Evans of Open Door Baptist Church in San Marcos, Texas. East River Baptist Church's (ERBC) mission as an assembly is threefold:- To Exalt the Saviour! Eph. 3:21- To Edify the Saints! Eph. 4:16- To Evangelize the Sinners! Lk 24:47 What ERBC believes about the Scriptures: “We believe that the scriptures of both Old and New Testament are verbally inspired of God, that they are the supreme and finalauthority for faith and practice, and are preserved in the Authorized Version (KJV 1611) of the Bible. 2 Timothy 3:16. Psalm 12:6-7." What ERBC believes about God: “We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. That God is supreme in His person, absolute in His attributes, glorious in His perfection, and eternal in Hisbeing. 1 John 5:7." What ERBC believes about Jesus: “We believe in the Deity of Jesus Christ. His conception by the Holy Spirit, His virgin birth, His sinless life, His death on the cross to pay the penalty for our sins, His bodily resurrection, His exaltation atGod's right hand, and His personal imminent, pre-millennial, and pre-tribulation return. Ephesians 1:7. ” What ERBC believes about man: “We believe that God created man in His image and likeness (a triune being: spirit, soul, and body) in a state of innocence's, but throughtemptation, he willingly transgressed, became dead in trespasses and sins. As a result, his posterity (all men) inherited a corrupt nature, are born in sin, and are under condemnation. Romans 5:12.” A message from ERBC to you:“If you are looking for a church in the Houston Texas area that preaches the Truth from God's Word, reach out to us at any time. Mal Evans var altid i nærheden af The Beatles. Gruppens egen "Mr. Fix it" kunne hjælpe med alt! Han var med på tour, på private rejser, i køkkenet, i varevognen, i mødelokalerne og selvfølgelig i studiet, hvor han kunne sætte strenge på og skaffe alternative rygemidler på ingen tid. Peter Jacksons "Get Back"- epos viste fint hvor vigtig han var for The Beatles. Blessed with a natural talent for what was written by Shakespeare and Moliére, Brian Sheppard has built on that to be one of today's most sought actors for true crime and contemporary drama. His appearances on AMC's “The Walking Dead” and NBC's longest-running show “Law & Order: SVU” have presented him as vulnerable or villainous, and always complex. When he played James Dalman on “The Blacklist”, Brian added drug-addicted, disturbed, and edgy to his acting attributes. When Brian portrayed Gary Evans, a prolific serial killer, on ID Channel's “To Catch a Killer”, he portrayed a murderer who, like Charles Manson, Jim Jones, and Richard Ramirez, was likeable, charismatic, and deeply disturbed. Not comfortable playing only one persona, Brian wears with style and skill the hats of both comedians and romantics. He did this in the pilot for “Vetted” and the indy film “Beautiful Something”. In this movie, which played to sold out audiences in San Francisco, Chicago, L.A., Philadelphia, and Tampa, Brian played a poet who writes a life-changing piece of work after confronting his former lover. For it, Brian won Best Actor at the Chicago LGBT Film Fest, as well as the Best Actor Award at Mumbai LGBT Film Fest. Prior to these, he was celebrated in the Classical acting world. Brian cultivated his Shakespearean talents at Tennessee Shakespeare Co. (TSC). His roles there included Lavatch in All's Well That Ends Well, Berowne, Richard II, John Ford, Titus Lartius, Dromio of Syracuse, Don Jon in 400: The Shakespeare Feast. Early in his career, Brian's dramatic intensity and range brought him success as the title role in Hamlet, Grumio in The Taming of the Shrew (TSC), Dorante in The Liar (Centenary Stage Co.), Caliban in The Tempest (PTDT in New York), and Jason in Rabbit Hole (NIU). Brian earned his BA in Theatre at Butler University and an MFA in acting at Northern Illinois University (NIU), where he taught fight choreography and speech/dialect with professors. After attending Moscow Theatre School, he performed in master classes led by several master teachers, including Neil Freeman, Anne Bogart, and Kristen Linklater. In 2011, inspired by his love of the Bard, Brian co-founded Plimouth Players, an all-male Shakespeare company. As an avid fly fisherman for 25 years, Brian teaches fly tying and guides fly fishermen on rivers in New York. You can see his work on City Fly. Coming for Brian are more roles in sci-fi, true crime, and the independent film world. Follow him on Instagram to stay caught up.

Welcome to this episode examining the relationship between children and nature. Today we  eavesdrop on some of our younger ParkBathers as they experience forest bathing in Crystal Palace park. We're also exploring our own experiences  of nature from childhood – and how that relationship influences us and changes over time. We delve into the inevitable subject of how little children spend in nature and while we're not going to demonise screens and technology, we take a stark look at how damaging overuse of screens can be for children's mental health, their sleep, mood and general wellbeing. (if you want some tips on managing your kid's tech time look up my interview with Dr Fintan Nagal from Series 1)Kirsten looks at the research suggesting that a connection to nature is our biological imprint - we have an affinity for the natural world. When children spend most of their time indoors, they miss out on that connection and become alienated from nature which triggers a host of issues, depression, obesity, and attention deficit disorder. Kids who have direct access to nature are better learners. Exposure to nature has been shown to reduce stress and increase attention spans. So, we're going to talk about the sense of awe and wonder being in nature evokes and show you exactly what happened when we took a group of teenagers on a forest bathing walk. You might be surprised at what we discovered - we were !So listen to Kirsten explain the science behind why children need to develop a relationship with nature from a young age and hear input from our guests this week, Rachel Massey, Ellen Devine, Gary Evans, Sage Fitzpatrick and Andy Shipley.  Don't forget to check out our Bonus Episode with tips to engage your children (and your Big Kids) in fun, creative park-based activities including some fun walks courtesy of the free walking App Go Jauntly. Jenny Thompson - Why growing your own vegetables is our greatest well-being toolWhen I first read the ‘Blue Zones: 9 Lessons For Living Longer, by People Who Have Lived the Longest'' by Dan Buettner, which explores the pockets of people who live the longest, healthy and thriving lives, I noticed a trend. Many of these healthy outliers, who were fit as fiddles into their 90's and beyond all grew their own vegetables. This observation sat in my mind for years, until I met with Nick Littlehales, the world's leading sleep coach.. Nick, who will also appear on the podcast,  and I started to talk about the benefits of natural daylight on the body. This was followed by a workshop with our ongoing self-development community the MBG with the chairman of the UK's forest bathing committee Gary Evans, who explained the almost unbelievable health benefits of time spent in nature. Next, I reflected on my podcast chat with Dr Alan Desmond in the first episode, who explored the science and benefits behind plant-based nutrition. Then, finally, the penny dropped.Growing your own fruit and veg could be one of the best activities that we could all possibly partake in. And that's exactly what Jenny and I will explore in this episode. Jenny's Instagram, The_Organic_Allotment_Girl is one of my favourites. Jenny's posts inspire me every day and she has such a great story that I can't wait to share it with you all.You will love this chat, and I am positive you might even be tempted to take part in the latest wellbeing craze and grow your own. Alright Let's do this.

FCC Chairman Genachowski just announced an initiative to get a gigabit city in every state by 2015. Is this a meaningful policy objective or, as some critics claim, "empty rhetoric"? Five community broadband industry leaders tackle this question. More importantly, they detail the heavy lifting necessary to get a gig to every state. Jim Baller, President of Baller-Herbst Law Group, is a well-known telecom attorney and community broadband advocate who presents legal and policy issues that need to be overcome or leveraged. Masha Zager, Editor of Broadband Communities Magazine, brings a good 30,000-foot view of both private sector and community efforts so far in the pursuit of highspeed Internet access. Christopher Mitchell, Dir., Telecommunications as Commons Initiative at the Institute for Local Self-Reliance, tracks gigabit cities across the U.S. and knows what challenges face communities pursuing this goal. Arkansas Senator Linda Chesterfield brings a state legislative perspective since so many laws and funding programs affecting broadband come from state houses. Gary Evans, CEO of Hiawatha Broadband Communications, has years of experience in private public partnerships and engaging the private sector beyond the traditional incumbents to get broadband where it needs to be. This special 90-minute show will take a blunt, no holds barred look at what it really takes to implement meaningful national initiatives that actually result in super fast broadband in communities that need it.

(Due to his invite to meet President Obama yesterday, we re-scheduled Gary Evans for today. We'll begin the show with Gary's re-cap of his Q&A with the President on broadband and the economy.) How do you maximize your broadband public private partnership (PPP)? Gary Evans has been refining and validating the answer to this question for several years, and you'll benefit from his experience and insights, Evans, President and CEO of Hiawatha Broadband Communications, has created two top-10 lists of tips that help you tap the full benefits PPPs offer while minimizing the challenges. One list is from the public sector perspective and the other tackles the question from the private sector perspective. In this broadcast, you'll get a good handle on several important issues including: •    finding the best partners; •    creating a shared vision; and •    developing the best plan for a win-win. Given the increasing interest and variations in PPPs, there's a lot that communities need to know. This interview starts you on the right path to success.
