We climb with B.U.D., listen to M.O.M. and drunkenly flail about in Grow Home. This week we're chatting about our favourite robots. Alec likes the robo-ostrich from World of Warcraft. Brendan is fond of the abandoned bots of Hackmud. And John loves little BUD of Grow Home because of his wobbly walking animations. Speaking of bi-pedal machines, Alec has also been stomping around in strategy mech-clicker Battletech. John has been fighting a witch in The Swords of Ditto. While Brendan has foolishly appointed a gambler as his finance minister in Ni No Kuni II. We're talking about remakes, remasters and recurrent nightmares. What would we like to see remade? Katharine wouldn’t mind a spruced up Deus Ex. Brendan thinks a rejigged Assassin’s Creed could work (how perverse). While Adam doesn’t want any of his loves remade, lest they pollute his fond memories (OK, maybe Pathologic 2).

On this week's show we're talking about another wildly diverse pair of games. First, Patrick's being playing Ubisoft's pseudo-indie curiosity Gone Home, proving the company has more up their sleeves than excessively open worlds, while Rob's been weathering the punishment of Firaxis's XCOM 2, which changes up the formula enough to be the best kind of sequel. Utilizing the very last shreds of our sanity, we ring in the new year with YET ANOTHER absurdly humongous episode, this time recorded for you on New Year's morning, 2016. We dissect the tick tock and technical details behind the Steam Store's Christmas Day Downtime, going from Valve's official statement rel New Year's Eve. We take a look at some exciting new and noteworthy titles (the absurdly imaginative "Grow Home," the asphalt and crowbar biker romp of "Road Redemption," "Vagante," and "Blues & Bullets Episode I"), and also take a moment to recognize one of the only true versus-style fighting games avail for Linux ("Skullgirls"), and cap it all off with 13 choice deals for the completely depraved, as-yet-still-unsatisfied game gluttons out there wandering the Steam Winter Sale. Oh, and skookie loses his entire fucking mind. HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Ben and Aadil have played loads of games in the past couple of weeks. Ben is still playing Metal Gear Solid 5 but found time for Septembers Playstation plus lineup including 'Grow Home' and 'Super Timeforce Ultra'. Aadil also played 'Super Time Force Ultra' but also jumped into 'Counterspy' and cross played between the Vita and PS3. Ben has spent most of his time however playing 'Party Hard' on the PC and Aadil has struggled to get the excellent 'Max Payne' to run on a newer operating system than windows 97. The podcast finishes with a discussion about the recent Star Wars Battlefront Beta. Aadil drinks Gahan Brewery Sir John A's Wheat Ale and Boxing Rock The Vicar's Cross Double IPA. Ben's craftbeers this week are Harbour Brewery IPA and Sierra Nevada Torpedo Extra IPA. Tanked Up – Episode 21 – Max Payne Parties, Hard

Not a whole lot happening this week besides Jon moving. Because of it, he's only been playing Mario Maker, Paul has only played some Secret Ponchos and Sean has been wrapping up Grow Home and enjoying Ace Attorney 2 on the iOS.Not a lot of news besides Life is Strange coming Oct. 20 and you can hack your PSTV by sending an email to your vita?
Tom, Marsh, Graham and special guest Rich Stanton gather to discuss the failings of BBC drama The Gamechangers, terrible psychological studies, and their thoughts on Circa Infinity, Undertale and Hearthstone’s The Grand Tournament expansion. One game makes you dread humanity. The other game is a Danganronpa. The fall release season is in full swing, and Nintendo Free Radio has some choice cuts from the busy month of September for you. To kick off New Business, Donald has a Labour Day duo of LBX: Little Battlers eXperience, the review title that he ended up buying on his own ANYWAY, and follows it up by staring into the depths of the Bowhemoth in 13AMGames indie hit Runbow (Wii U). But of course, if you want to talk platforming on the Wii U, you play Super Mario Maker, and Donald actually managed to create a level that may not create a vacuum! (Hit it up at 6BDE-0000-002F-E5F9). Stephen keeps the platforming going with a couple of PS+ freebies in Sound Shapes and Grow Home, then Austen snags the other platformer of Mario Maker's release week with Tearaway Unfolded. Finally, the segment ends with a discussion of Danganronpa: Ultra Despair Girls that touches on some pretty messy subjects, so be prepared to skip ahead to about 1:14:30 to avoid them.A brief Whatcha Watchin has a distinct sci-fi animated bent, as Stephen watched The Awesomes and Austen hit up some Star Wars: Rebels (clumsy random blasters not included). Then it's Lightning Round time as the news includes Pikmin, Pokemon Go, a strange week at Capcom and a TGS preview (note the recording date). Finally, there's a double Poison and a double 1up in the Mushrooms that proves that playing tropes straight is for chumps. The releases aren't going to slow down, but we want to know what you want from the show as well, so drop a comment below, leave us an email or tweet @nfrpodcast. Be sure to check out the NWR forum Mario Maker thread for more insanity as well. This podcast was recorded on September 13 and was edited by Donald Theriault. All music/clips used for purposes of news discussion. Donald got points for two predictions during the editing process.
Cats are the reason Paul isn't here....Jon has been playing Grand Theft Auto V and Apollo Justice. He also discusses Super Mario Maker with Sean, alone with Grow Home and Ancient Legacy.News is mainly TGS talk, we also bring up Nintendo's new president, and Star Fox getting delayed.

Welcome back to the show everyone! We're past E3, so that means back to the usual schedule. This week Bally returns to another SNES classic, namely the original Donkey Kong Country, and seems to like it quite a bit. He also tried out a few games from the Nindies at E3 demo promotion and is particularly high on Typoman. Nbz follows up with his thoughts on Kirby and the Rainbow Curse, a title which is flawed but fun. He also beat a short Ubisoft game on PC called Grow Home which has great ideas for the future of 3D platformers. He closes out the segment with final thoughts on The Witcher 3 which is in contention for his GOTY! After the break we answer some of your e-mails (Keep sending them in!) and end the show with an E3 round up including discussion of the Treehouse live part of Nintendo's showing. Remember to send all your correspondence to our E-mail Address: ThisNintendoLife@gmail.com

Waking up to blinding sunlight and phosphorescent glitches you are accosted by a booming paternalistic voice which subsequently commands you to collect every achievement in site. The booming voice then winks somehow, “gotcha, video games!” it intones. Other games discussed: Grow Home, Monster Hunter 4

This past week or so has been a sad time for the Videogame Industry, especially for the fine folk over at Joystiq, who have not only had to deal with AOL closing down their operation, but also the loss of ex-staffer Andrew Yoon, who died tragically in a lake accident on the 30th January. Andrew was a regular contributor on the late great Weekend Confirmed Podcast and if it weren't for that show (and indeed, the Joystiq Podcast) then there's no way this show would exist. The end of an Era it most certainly is."The show must go on" though, as they say - and so we have a whole bunch of news for you this week, including an MMO update regarding The Elder Scrolls Online's new pay model and the ressurection of APB for current-gen consoles. We also discuss how the German ratings board are treating VR games seperately to those played on more traditional screens and let loose some info on a bunch of new games announced since we last recorded, including Ubisoft's Grow Home and some actual proper indie titles like 35mm, Virginia & White Night.
