Monique is joined by Dr. Thaddeus Williams, professor at Biola University, for a deep dive into a conversation of socialism versus capitalism from a biblical perspective. They discuss why many young Christians, particularly those aged 18-29, are drawn to socialist ideas. They unpack the misconceptions about socialism, its historical track record, and how it aligns—or conflicts—with biblical principles. Discover why 60-62% of young Americans view socialism favorably and explore the dangers of blending socialist ideology with Christian theology. They tackle tough questions: Is wealth inherently exploitative? Can markets exist under socialism? How should Christians approach justice and helping the poor? This thought-provoking discussion challenges bumper-sticker slogans and encourages viewers to love God and the poor with both heart and mind.

The German Democratic Republic has come to stand as a symbol of communist tyranny, a source of Cold War nostalgia and socialist kitsch, and a failed alternative to the worst excesses of 21st century capitalism. In this book, Ned Richardson-Little delves into the central contradictions of the GDR state: This book illustrates the fault lines of GDR society, the worldviews and experiences of not only those who ruled the GDR, but also those who rebelled against the strictures of state socialism, and those in between who sought a normal life under dictatorship. The German Democratic Republic: The Rise and Fall of a Cold War State (Bloomsbury, 2025) is a succinct and comprehensive history of East Germany that traces its story from the country's origins as the Soviet Zone of Occupation after World War II through key events such as the 1953 Uprising, the building of the Berlin Wall, the Helsinki Accords, and the collapse of state socialism in 1989. Some of the themes explored include the memory of Nazism and national identity, everyday life under dictatorship, including consumerism, sexuality, and racism, the global politics of the GDR, the diversity of dissenting voices, and the competing visions for East Germany's democratic future. Guest: Ned Richardson-Little (he/him) is a Research Fellow in Department V: Globalizations in a Divided World at the Leibniz Centre for Contemporary History Potsdam (ZZF), in Germany. He is a historian of modern Germany, with a focus on the GDR, socialism, far-right extremism, and the history of international law and international crime. On Monday's Mark Levin Show, the Democratic Party continues to strive to link President Trump to the Epstein case. Unfortunately, no details are being revealed because of the case's sensitive nature, not due to any attempt to hide information by Trump. It is impossible to force the grand jury to reveal this information, as that would infringe upon the privacy rights that are fundamental to every case during its jurisdiction. These so-called influencers are promoting the Epstein issue as a significant concern, yet a CNN poll conducted by Harry Enten shows that interest in the Epstein matter has waned considerably. in addition, we need to exercise extreme caution regarding whom we place our trust in moving forward, as there are numerous backstabbers, particularly when it involves attacking Trump. Rep Marjorie Taylor Greene serves as a prime example - many admired her, but the tables have turned as she is a deceitful and sleazy politician. Do we truly want individuals like her to represent us? Absolutely not. This is precisely why she is experiencing a significant decline in support due to her abhorrent actions, and yet she has the nerve to assert that she leads MAGA, which is utterly embarrassing. Also, Washington D.C is getting more dangerous. Just like in NYC and in California, crime is just as bad in Washington D.C.. Trump has a plan to help combat the crime that has been present and affecting the community. Moreover, individuals such as Sen Bernie Sanders pose a significant threat, and it is disheartening to see someone like Dana Bash fawning over Sanders, which is likely contributing to her declining ratings. Sanders endorses the actions of Nicolás Maduro in Venezuela, supports Zohran Mamdani's campaign for Mayor of NYC, and advocates for the erosion of our freedoms through Socialism and Marxism. Lastly, Benjamin Netanyahu isn't going to stop destroying Hamas, until Gaza is free of them. Netanyahu is determined to release all the hostages, and will not stop until they are all home and safe. How did Socialism become mainstream in New York City? In this timely and insightful conversation, Socrates in the City host Eric Metaxas speaks with NYC-based journalist Olivia Reingold about her coverage of the 2026 NYC Mayoral race's front runner, Zohran Mamdani. Reingold unpacks the shifting tide in the political and economic thought of Gen Z, how Mamdani’s campaign—run almost entirely online—may become a blueprint for future digital-first political movements, and what a socialist mayor could signal for America's political future.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Clara Zetkin (1857-1933) was a prominent German Marxist theorist, activist, and advocate for women's rights. She played a pivotal role in the early socialist and communist movements, particularly in championing women's suffrage and equality. Zetkin also initiated International Women's Day, which is still celebrated globally today as a day of advocacy and solidarity for women's rights. We’ll be talking about Pink Collar Workers: women who revolutionized jobs that have traditionally been called "women's work." Through their lives, they created a more just and humane world for us today. History classes can get a bad rap, and sometimes for good reason. When we were students, we couldn’t help wondering... where were all the ladies at? Why were so many incredible stories missing from the typical curriculum? Enter, Womanica. On this Wonder Media Network podcast we explore the lives of inspiring women in history you may not know about, but definitely should. Every weekday, listeners explore the trials, tragedies, and triumphs of groundbreaking women throughout history who have dramatically shaped the world around us. In each 5 minute episode, we’ll dive into the story behind one woman listeners may or may not know–but definitely should. These diverse women from across space and time are grouped into easily accessible and engaging monthly themes like Educators, Villains, Indigenous Storytellers, Activists, and many more. Womanica is hosted by WMN co-founder and award-winning journalist Jenny Kaplan. The bite-sized episodes pack painstakingly researched content into fun, entertaining, and addictive daily adventures. Womanica was created by Liz Kaplan and Jenny Kaplan, executive produced by Jenny Kaplan, and produced by Grace Lynch, Maddy Foley, Brittany Martinez, Edie Allard, Carmen Borca-Carrillo, Taylor Williamson, Sara Schleede, Paloma Moreno Jimenez, Luci Jones, Abbey Delk, Adrien Behn, Alyia Yates, Vanessa Handy, Melia Agudelo, and Joia Putnoi. Trump promised to “re-privatize” the economy so that it reflects small businesses and the forgotten man. Instead, he is steering the economy to a handful of Big Tech companies more than his predecessor. Today, I show in vivid detail how Big Tech is getting special favors, including exceptions from tariffs, regulatory relief, federal land offers, federal tax credits, re-zoning favors, and state and local tax exemptions to promote the data center digital colonization of America that a free and fair market could never sustain. The government is digging us so deep into the pockets of these companies that once the data center bubble pops, it will be too big to fail and we will be stuck holding the bag. I contrast this model to the state of the economy for most Americans and small businesses, and the contrast could not be greater.  Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
