How to Finance Your First Hunting Property: Expert Land Lending Secrets | 100% Wild Ep. 460 Welcome to the premiere of our new special series, Cultivating Value, powered by Buckland Funding! In this first installment, Matt Drury and Tim Kjellesvik are joined by land lending experts Megan Cheek and Jamie Whitaker to pull back the curtain on the often-intimidating world of recreational land financing. Whether you are a first-time buyer dreaming of your own 20-acre sanctuary or a seasoned investor looking to flip a prime Midwest tract, this episode breaks down the nitty-gritty details of down payments, debt-to-income ratios, and credit scores. We dive deep into why treating land as an inflation hedge is a smart move in today's market and how to position yourself with a pre-approval so you don't miss out when that perfect piece of ground finally hits the market. The conversation doesn't stop at the bank; we explore the psychological hurdles of taking the "scary plunge" into land ownership and the strategic benefits of 1031 exchanges for long-term wealth building. From analyzing Class-A soil productivity to understanding the impact of road access and easements on resale value, Megan and Jamie provide the "concierge" coaching every landowner needs. Dimitri and Khalid tap back into their Video Weltanschauung for a look at the first wave of 1960s "hippie exploitation films", their depictions of the rising counterculture, and how they indirectly helped birth the New Hollywood era, with a particular focus on three films from 1968: The Monkees' anti-cinematic bomb "Head" (featuring a McLuhanesque ad campaign by future Epstein fixer John Brockman), and the Roger Corman/AIP productions "Psych-Out" and "Wild in the Streets"... Send us a textA skeptical young husband sits on a pastor's office floor, reads a passage, and finds the kind of faith that changes a life. That simple, humble start turns into decades of service: deep mentorship in a small church, ministry training, and a leap across the world to plant house churches in post-Soviet Ukraine. Along the way come cold trains, open-air markets, a tense meeting with the local mafia leader, and the unmistakable thread of provision that follows obedience. The mission stays clear: equip locals to reach their neighbors, trust God over comfort, and measure impact by fruit that remains.Reclaiming the Wild is back — April 24–26 at Abundant Blessings Farm (Stem, NC). I have a nice little compound in the city, but I can hear traffic from where I live even though my house backs up to a park. My whole life, I've searched for the calm to balance the chaos in my life. A grassy field. A Park where my kids could play. Squirrels would play. People laughing in the background. And then, I made my way to Oklahoma in search of a ranch. I didn't just find any ranch, I found a ranch that has become the representation of abundance in my life. My compound efforts of working hard 7 days a week, making sacrifices, and staying consistent, even while under attack at various times mentally, physically, emotionally, spiritually, and financially.......... It's covered with trees, a huge river that runs through it, rolling little pastures, and multiple lakes stocked with fish. Snakes abound. Turtles. Wild hogs, coyotes, and hundreds of head of cattle roaming the wide open spaces. My compound efforts at work helped me to create a compound both in the city and country where I can find my grounding necessary to live the next version of my life successfully. And you can to, but you have to start by creating something that produces a compound effect. The hot stove finally cools down as the Detroit Tigers sign ace pitcher Framber Valdez to a massive 3-year, $111 million deal. Tiki and Evan debate whether this move makes Detroit a legitimate World Series contender or if they are simply capitalizing on a weak AL Central—and how they stack up against the New York Yankees in a potential playoff series. Then, the results are in for the show's MLB Free Agency Bingo. After months of tracking, a winner is crowned (spoiler: it's Tiki), while Tommy finishes dead last. The guys also pivot to a bizarre history lesson, discussing Robert Todd Lincoln's uncanny proximity to three presidential assassinations and the irony of the man who saved his life.

In today's episode, Becket Cook welcomes back biblical scholar Denny Burke—professor at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and president of the Council on Biblical Manhood and Womanhood—to unpack a viral Joe Rogan clip where Texas Democrat U.S. Senate candidate James Talarico claims the Bible is pro-choice. Talarico argues that God asked Mary for consent before the incarnation in Luke 1, framing creation and pregnancy as requiring freedom and bodily autonomy. Burke dismantles this interpretation, showing it's a clear distortion: the Annunciation is God's sovereign announcement, not a negotiation, and Mary's response is humble submission as the Lord's bond-slave. They also refute the outdated "life begins at first breath" claim from Genesis 2:7, highlight the unborn's personhood in Luke (John leaping for joy in Elizabeth's womb), and warn how this eisegesis promotes theological liberalism with destructive consequences for life, marriage, and family. If you're exploring faith, politics, abortion rights, or biblical fidelity amid viral debates, this episode clarifies why Scripture consistently affirms the sanctity of unborn life. Medical Botany Preview with Wild Herb Academy LEARN MORE & REGISTER FOR FREE In this short solo segment, I share an exciting opportunity from our friends at Wild Herb Academy — free access to six lessons from Medical Botany: Foundations in Ancient Plant Medicine. This free preview goes far deeper than basic plant ID. April Punsalan and ethnobotanist Nishanth Gurav teach you how to see plants the way botanists and traditional healers do: through patterns, form, environment, and structure. Inside the free lessons, you'll explore: • How to recognize plant patterns in the field • How leaf shapes and growth habits reveal medicinal qualities • How plant families help you understand unfamiliar herbs • Practical observation skills that deepen your relationship with the land I also share why this kind of plant-pattern literacy is a cornerstone of herbalism — the kind of knowledge that makes every future lesson, formula, and field walk make more sense. A great opportunity to sample the work before the full program opens. Mason Hutchison, HerbRally PS: Jump in soon so you have time to explore all six lessons while they're available. Last month the U.S. Department of the Interior said it will revoke the grazing permits that have allowed American Prairie to run bison on roughly 63,000 acres of federal public land in Montana. In this episode of the Outdoor Life podcast news editor Dac Collins interviews our conservation editor Andrew McKean about the issue. McKean lives in eastern Montana, which is ground zero for the bison restoration effort. He'll explain why the effort to restore wild bison on the landscape is important, and also why it's become so controversial. In this intense episode, Savage addresses the survival of the fittest and the tumultuous political climate in America. He sounds the alarm about the ongoing insurgency funded by domestic and foreign actors. He warns that unless these forces are curbed, America's future is at stake. He then discusses the potential of U.S. involvement in Iran. He covers the complexities of overthrowing regimes and what could happen if the Mullahs are defeated in Iran. Through the lens of Jack London's 'Call of the Wild,' he reflects on the importance of resilience and understanding in leadership. He urges listeners to be vigilant in defending American values amidst growing domestic and international challenges.

I drive across the mountains and forests to a small corner of Washington state, where there's a group of ranchers from the Kalispel Tribe of Indians. They’re known as ‘The Buffalo Boys.’ Generations ago, members of the tribe would migrate hundreds of miles to the great plains to hunt buffalo. There were millions of buffalo until white settlers hunted them to near extinction, and the Kalispel were pushed from their land. But now, they have a herd of their own. On today’s episode, I visit the Buffalo Boys and their herd of buffalo to tell the story of how they got these buffalo, and what they’re doing to make sure that this magnificent creature will forever be a part of their lives. My huge thanks to the Kalispel for their warm hospitality.
