Welcome back to our weekend Cabral HouseCall shows! This is where we answer our community's wellness, weight loss, and anti-aging questions to help people get back on track! Check out today's questions:    Anonymous: Hello, I've tested my hormones but didn't know it should be done by a saliva test. I'm wondering if I can still make something out of the results of the female hormones I tested in this way? Or are these results completely off? They've tested FSH, LH, prolactin, estradiol, progesterone, testosterone, DHEA-S, TSH and cortisol.. I understand it is not the same as with a saliva test, but hopefully it still means something? What should I look into , to understand the levels? I know Equlife offers tests, but you don't ship here, unfortunately.. Thank you for your help     Michael: What are your suggestions for kitchen utensils for cooking? Thanks for all you do.     Adriene: My health has been deteriorating since July when my neurosurgeon for nerve damage in my C5 and C6 along with two fractures in my C2 and C3. I now get fatigue quickly, having seizures due to my blood pressure skyrocket and then I have extreme pain and numbness in my right side. My doctors really want me tested for MS. Can someone have ms without lesions     Larissa: Hello, Can you recommend a probiotic for my 2.5 yr old son? Due to unfortunate circumstances, he was born via C-section and formula fed. He has little bumps on the back of his arm that I suspect based on my understanding of Chinese skin mapping is due to small intestinal issues. I heard the gut micro biome solidifies after age 3yrs and aside from organic unprocessed foods, want to help give him the best gut micro ions given the circumstances. Thanks in advance and for all that you do for our growing enlightened community!     Lauren: Hi Dr. Cabral, I had a fall while hiking. Nothing serious, landed on my hands & trauma to my right index finger created noticeable swelling (thought it might be dislocated). Dr. suggested an x-raym which confirmed no dislocation, but "ovoid calcification adjacent to the pip joint suggestive of calcific periarthritis". Generally I follow an anti-inflammatory lifestyle, but noticed prior (from more alcohol or holidays - more flex meals) the same finger has had joint pain/swelling. Far less than the fall, but noticeable. I am concerned it's not getting better & wonder about complications with arthritis moving forward. Would surgery be an option to remove it or what can I do? Pain on touch/bend properly + certain things seem to trigger it. Any specific supplements for calcium resorption help?     Thank you for tuning into today's Cabral HouseCall and be sure to check back tomorrow where we answer more of our community's questions!      - - - Show Notes and Resources: StephenCabral.com/3214 - - - Get a FREE Copy of Dr. Cabral's Book: The Rain Barrel Effect - - - Join the Community & Get Your Questions Answered: CabralSupportGroup.com - - - Dr. Cabral's Most Popular At-Home Lab Tests: > Complete Minerals & Metals Test (Test for mineral imbalances & heavy metal toxicity) - - - > Complete Candida, Metabolic & Vitamins Test (Test for 75 biomarkers including yeast & bacterial gut overgrowth, as well as vitamin levels) - - - > Complete Stress, Mood & Metabolism Test (Discover your complete thyroid, adrenal, hormone, vitamin D & insulin levels) - - - > Complete Food Sensitivity Test (Find out your hidden food sensitivities) - - - > Complete Omega-3 & Inflammation Test (Discover your levels of inflammation related to your omega-6 to omega-3 levels) - - - Get Your Question Answered On An Upcoming HouseCall: StephenCabral.com/askcabral - - - Would You Take 30 Seconds To Rate & Review The Cabral Concept? Eric Olson, COO and Founder of BetterWay™ by Babson Diagnostics™, reports that traditional blood testing is often seen as inconvenient and unpleasant, causing 40% of people to avoid needed blood tests. Babson has developed a more patient-friendly approach to blood collection using a device that fits on the finger and requires a minimum amount of blood. The BetterWay service allows patients or doctors to order tests where blood is drawn at a local pharmacy and samples analyzed at a central lab, providing a quick turnaround with understandable test results.  Eric explains, "Blood testing is something that most people are very familiar with. It's a routine part of medical care. Every time you go in for your annual visit or if you're monitoring a disease, maybe a chronic disease, you might get tested more frequently than once a year. The experience is something that a lot of people go through, which consists of having an appointment, going into some sort of patient service center, and getting blood drawn by a professional phlebotomist. They put a needle in your vein and use tubes to pull the blood out of the vein. They fill up multiple tubes of blood that get sent to a high-throughput laboratory that looks a bit like a factory for testing." "If you go to BetterWay.com, you can see the full menu and the prices of all the tests on that menu, so there are no surprise bills. Insurance, FSA, and HSA are accepted. However, the cash pay prices are often lower than many people pay, even with insurance, due to copays and deductibles, which are very high for many people." "So once you've got an order, you go to your local retail pharmacy to get your blood collected. We're available in pharmacies in Austin today, on all sides of Austin, and expanding beyond Austin soon. Once you arrive at the pharmacy, you tell them that you're there for the BetterWay test. They'll collect a pea-sized blood sample from your fingertip after putting your hand on a hand warmer. And that enables them to collect either one or two tubes of blood, depending on the tests you've ordered, instead of large vials of blood from a needle in your vein." #BetterWay #BabsonDiagnostics #BloodTesting #HealthEcosystem #MedicalDeviceDevelopments BetterWay.com Download the transcript here

Dr. David Stein, CEO and Director of Babson Diagnostics, a healthcare technology company that focuses on putting the patient at the center of the blood testing experience, recognizing the importance of blood testing in informing clinical decisions and monitoring health. They aim to redefine blood testing by eliminating the anxiety and inconvenience associated with traditional blood testing methods by offering a more accessible and convenient approach. Blood samples are collected with an innovative device from the patient's fingertip at retail pharmacy locations, and patients use a digital app and QR code system to order and track tests and receive test results. David explains, "Babson Diagnostics is a science-first healthcare technology company that has reimagined the end-to-end blood testing experience. In that experience, the patient and customer are the strong focus. We've all experienced times when we've had a blood test ordered for us, and we've felt anxious. We've tried, as much as we can, to eliminate that, both by the location where we provide the service, which is the retail pharmacy, and also through our approach, where we easily take samples from your finger, wrap it in a digital layer to make it all understandable. In the end, provide a preferred experience that is much more convenient and accessible than what you experience today."   "Probably the more important thing is how can we make it so that you don't have to get venipuncture, so that you don't have to get a needle in your arm, because for a significant part of our population, having a sharp object inserted in your body, is not something most of us like. So, in reality, between vasovagal issues and difficult veins, people are looking for a true alternative."  "People are also looking for accessibility and convenience. What we have innovated is in both aspects. One is to allow you to do broad, clinical-grade testing with a sample that's easily collected from your fingertip while also being able to get that collection done in locations near your home, such as your local supermarket or your local pharmacy. We've tried to innovate in two aspects, which is what everybody wants -- accessibility and convenience. We see that in every part of our economy and have changed the way that blood is collected so that you don't have the anxiety of a needle going in your arm." #BabsonDiagnostics #BloodTesting #Pharmacies #BetterWay #MedicalDevice #MedTech BabsonDX.com Download the transcript here

Ever wondered how the intricate world of Silicon Photonics can intersect with health markers? As we proceed, we unveil the potential of simple lifestyle changes to improve metabolic and cardiovascular health. We also peek into the future of home blood testing and the role of semiconductor technology in driving this forward.    Michael is the co-founder and CPO of SiPhox. Scientists have found that levels of CRP correlate with changes in inflammation, disease activity, tissue damage, and more. This is a key marker to track for health and longevity.  The standard ranges in the medical field for different markers may be completely different from what is considered healthy in the functional medicine field. For example, insulin numbers in the functional field are considered healthy between the 7 to 10 range, while up to 24.9 is considered the standard range in the medical field.

Leave Wellness + Wisdom a Review on Apple Podcasts Power Quotes From The Show Biomarker Blood Testing "The way we view biomarker blood testing is like this panel is the base panel, you should be getting it frequently. We have add ons that allow you to look deeper at certain things. And that's how most engineers will debug a system, right? You do something broad and simple and you kind of see what's going on here and these are all biomarkers that are really well studied, very commonly if something's out of the range, and then we go deeper down a particular rabbit hole." - Michael Dubrovsky Life Expectancy in the U.S. "Life expectancy is not increasing while cost is increasing in the standard medical system and that is not true in Europe. If you look at all the European countries, everybody's life expectancy is increasing and the cost is not increasing that much. America is just obviously broken. We don't have a very strong opinion of how to fix it beside you need more data and you need more control over the situation." - Michael Dubrovsky The Evolution of the Medical System "Medicine is getting better but it's too expensive for most people to get that kind of scrutiny. Having more data makes it easier. If you give a doctor lots of data, such as 5 years of blood tests, the chances that they're going to give you an answer quickly is very high." - Michael Dubrovsky Limited Edition: Gold Pumpkin Spice from Organifi Save 20% with code "WELLNESSFORCE" on everyone's favorite Fall treat is here!
