Everyone has a Batman opinion. Inside your imagination is a definitive Batman: a Batman who should behave this way, and a Batman who should not behave that way. In 2005, filmmaker Christopher Nolan was about to become mainstream with the first movie in his superhero trilogy. Meanwhile, a group of developers in Derby were working on a video game tie-in for said movie that wouldn't turn out to be quite as popular. We're taking a look at an action adventure game that was neither a precursor to a game based on The Dark Knight, nor The Dark Knight Returns. We're talking Batman Begins.On this episode of Stealth Boom Boom, we chat a little bit about trailers that feature Batman smiling, Trailer Voice Man, and Phoenix International. Everyone knows who Batman is (unless you happen to live in Gotham City, then it might take a while) so here's my tribute to the Dark Knight's first big cinematic adventures since the 1960s Adam West camp-fest.  Most of us were skeptical about a Michael Keaton/Tim Burton collaboration.  We were expecting something ridiculous...Beetleman?!?  Batjuice?!?   To our surprise, 1989's Batman delivered, thanks in no small part to Jack Nicholson's even battier Joker.  We then got a bonkers sequel, Batman Returns, with Christopher Walken in a supporting role that basically steals the show.  Of course, I'm a bit biased and maintain that Walken steals every show.  Even mine.  This POD.  CAST.  So put on your BatBeats or whatever sort of headphones are handy and have a listen, you'll see who the real "joker" is.Go with a smile!

There's arguably no superhero in existence that has been reimagined, redefined, or reinterpreted more than Batman.  No matter how many times he's been rebooted, audiences are always willing to come back to Gotham City's greatest defender.  With so much Bat content out there, there's plenty to dissect, analyze, and of course, rank!  This podcast is dedicated to a surgical evaluation of Batman's history, with a focus on ranking several topics in the world of Batman, among other classic Bat themes and characters.Join hosts Daniel Cohen, Pop Break's former Film Editor, and Kris Ingersoll, co-host of the Media/Lit podcast, as they bring on several guests every month to share their passion for the one and only Dark Knight.  From Adam West to Robert Pattinson, no bat stone will be left unturned.  Bottom-line: If you're a Batman fan, this is required listening.Robins and Alfreds and Gordons…Oh my!  Oh yes, it's our third ever Draft episode!  In our last draft, it was villains.  This time, it's allies.  Welcome to the Ultimate Batman Allies Draft!  Along with Daniel and Kris, the Director of Podcasting for the Pop Break, Alex Marcus, is here to once again devise another spectacular, gut-wrenching Batman draft.  In this one, we're perusing all of Batman's most trusted partners in his war against crime.  Whether it's the Bat Family, Justice League, or even a former foe turned ally, we're covering all the bases, spanning allies from film, TV, and comic books.As this is a huge Draft episode, the Bat Cave is once again expanded.  The trio is joined by return guests Perry Constantine of the Superhero Cinephiles Podcasts, and Kris's co-host from the Media/Lit Podcast, as well as the Pod of Doom podcast on Black Sabbath at the pop break, and notorious Draft villain, Randy Allain!  And making his debut on the podcast is pop break contributor, Ben Murchison!It's another emotional and draining draft as everyone tries to navigate some particularly tough categories, as we go deeper into the comic book world for some true deep cuts.  If you're a diehard Batman comics fan, you'll love this episode!  There's plenty of draft heart break in this one.  Will Randy play the role of draft villain once again?  Will The Dark Knight Rises be dissected for the 900th time on this podcast?  Who goes #1?  Who doesn't get drafted?Just like our other drafts, this is required listening for Batman fans!

In retrospect, it turns out that Michael Keaton might have been the coolest Batman of all time.  I mean, did anyone really go see that Flash movie because The Flash is so awesome?  Nope.  Keaton Batman.  That's why.  In the mid-1990s, after Tim Burton stepped away from the franchise, the next couple of Batman movies would have a new director, and (gasp!) a couple of new Batmen.  While we've seen some really excellent work from both Val Kilmer (RIP) and George Clooney, these were not their crowning achievements.  Or should I say masking achievements?  These movies quickly became a parody of themselves, goofy as hell, turning our Dark Knight into a Dork Knight.  Oh, yeah...and Robin.  Well, there were a few entertaining villains in the mix, and you might find some entertainment listening to me dissect these 2 oddities in the Batman cinematic timeline.  But, truthfully, I don't think even Ozzy would want a taste of these bats.  

It took us 4 years but we finally got around to talking about one of the most critically acclaimed films of the 21st Century, The Dark Knight. In a nearly two hour episode we discuss various impacts this movie has made on not only superhero films but in films in general.
