After spending the last week attending several military events, Heather and Nate are bringing you this episode to share what it's like to attend and be a part of these ceremonies, balls, dinners, and more. Heather reflects that she didn't always feel comfortable at these events as a girlfriend or fiancé - it can feel like there are a lot of unspoken rules and traditions that take time to learn and become familiar with. Now after 10 years of attending military events, Heather says she still gets nervous, but has decided to go into them with a positive mindset knowing others may be feeling the same! The couple touch on important things like appropriate outfits for coordinating events and ice breaker questions to ask other military couples. These events can be a great opportunity to meet new people going through the same things as you, so just say yes and go to the event! Most importantly, talk to your partner about how you're feeling before and at these events; it's important to be on the same team.Highlights:00:00 Emotions around military events04:00 Going to these events as a girlfriend and fiancé05:50 Navigating events now 11:55 But what do I wear??15:15 Being nervous may not change, but how to get through it18:55 Nate gets sensory overload 20:00 Events Chip & Chip will attend in GA21:00 Final pro tipsLet's ConnectConnect with us HEREPodcast IG: chirpinwithchipTikTok: heather.demersWebsiteLINKS/CODES/DISCOUNTSFor business inquiries: heatherdemers@trend-mgmt.comFor all our favorite products:LTK is linked HEREShopMy is linked HEREThis episode was brought to you by the Pivot Ball Change Network.
The 2025 Met Gala dress code was ‘Tailored for You' and on the night, many of the guests were inspired by the themes and concepts on show at the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute exhibition ‘Superfine: Tailoring Black Style.'On the night we saw heavy influences of the Black Dandy, a little international flavour and a lot of tailoring with highlights coming from the likes of Zendaya, Lewis Hamilton and Teyana Taylor. In this Met Gala special I chat with fashion creator Aston Em, beauty editor Kayla A. Greaves and stylist Justin Friedman to find out their top 5 blue carpet looks. As well as sharing my own favourite moments, I also share information on the history of the Met Gala and how Monica L. Les dress-codes du Japon, une société en mouvement mais encore très patriarcale Que ce soit au travers des Mangas, d'influenceurs voyages ou des arts culinaires, le Japon a la cote.

On this week's Extra Serving, NRN editor in chief Sam Oches and executive editor Alicia Kelso discuss Starbucks' new uniform policy, which calls for neutral-color clothing that lets the brand's signature green apron stand out. Employees aren't happy about the change, but could it be another smart step in the turnaround process kicked off by new CEO Brian Niccol? Then they discuss Red Robin's new Bottomless Burger Pass, a limited promotion that, for just $20, gives customers a burger every day for a month. The pass was so in demand that it crashed Red Robin's website, and Sam and Alicia talk about how this could be a smart marketing strategy. They also talk about Applebee's, which last year did its own pass — a Date Night Pass — that was equally as in demand but couldn't spur enough momentum for the chain to enjoy sales growth. Now Applebee's has lost CMO Joel Yashinsky, who left for the same position at Burger King U.S. and Canada. So what's next for Applebee's? Senior editor Joanna Fantozzi joins for this week's extra serving to talk about Technomic's Top 500, which illustrates some interesting trends among the biggest chains in the U.S. Finally, we share an interview between senior food and beverage editor Bret Thorn and Walk-On's senior director of culinary John Hagen. I've never been a trendy dresser, but I always had my own style. Sometimes the choices were silly, but I don't have many regrets. Back in my high school days, there was talk about instituting a dress code at our public school. I was part of the protests that changed the school board's mind. So when I saw the story the other day, where Starbucks announced that they going to have one for their baristas, I was shocked. I have no problem with making everyone wear a green apron. But telling staffers the color of the shirt and pants they must wear makes no sense... It's Friday, and “Kim on a Whim” takes the win with a lighthearted but pointed take on America's vanishing dress code culture. From slobs in sweatpants bringing down NYC's upscale restaurants to post-COVID office attire hitting all-time lows, Kim and Marc rip into the lax look that's dragging down professionalism. The crew debates whether restaurants and workplaces have a right to enforce dress codes—and spotlight a St. Louis lounge requiring women to be 30+ and men 35+ to even walk in the door. Plus, flashbacks to when flying was classy and why modern travel feels more like a cattle call than a luxury. It's culture, class, and common sense—all rolled into one fiery Friday segment.
Marc & Kim kick off a fast-paced Friday show with laughs, rants, and hard truths. Carl shares tales from the Frozen Four, Kim vents about parenting meltdowns at restaurants, and Cardinals fans gear up for sweatshirt weather. Marc shreds the media's lies around Missouri's Amendment 3 rewrite, exposes the sketchy behavior of a Space Force commander in Greenland, and dissects Mayor-Elect Kara Spencer's political posturing on “regional cooperation.” Kim takes the lead in “Kim on a Whim,” torching America's crumbling dress code culture, from sweatpants in steakhouses to office sloppiness. It's politics, culture, and unfiltered commentary—all in one fiery Friday edition.

From the Inside Out: With Rivkah Krinsky and Eda Schottenstein
Send us a textSpecial thanks to Women of Iron Unite for making this episode possible. Founded on October 10th amid the pain of Operation Iron Sword, three courageous women from Crown Heights united to protect Eretz Yisroel by inspiring prayer, unity, and tznius within our community. Organized by Sarale Blau, Rivky Perl, and Ruthie Sperlin, their initiative continues to empower women to take small steps toward growth and holiness even in challenging times.Modesty (tznius) is one of the most sensitive, often misunderstood topics in the Jewish world. It's not just about clothing—it's about identity, confidence, dignity, and connection to something deeper. In this thought-provoking episode of From the Inside Out, we sit down with two incredible guests: Rivky Slonim, a powerhouse in Jewish education, and Joyce Azria, former fashion executive turned modesty advocate. Together, we unravel the layers of tznius—why it's challenging, what it truly means beyond fabric and rules, and how it can be a source of empowerment rather than restriction.Joyce shares her journey from the high-fashion world to embracing modesty, revealing the unexpected luxury and confidence it brings. Rivka offers profound insights on what tznius really is (hint: it's NOT just about covering up) and how it's deeply tied to self-respect, spirituality, and personal growth. We also explore topics like navigating modesty in professional spaces, finding joy in mitzvos even when they feel hard, and how to inspire the next generation without force or judgment.Rivkah Slonim is the Associate Director at the Chabad Center for Jewish Student Life at Binghamton University. An internationally known teacher, lecturer, and activist, she travels widely, addressing the intersection of traditional Jewish observance and contemporary life, with a special focus on Jewish women in Jewish law and life. Slonim is the editor of Total Immersion: A Mikvah Anthology and Bread and Fire; Jewish Women find God in the Everyday. Slonim and her husband are the grateful and proud parents of nine children. Daughter of the late Max Azria, she grew up in “fashion royalty,” but her journey from Chanel to Shabbat reshaped her approach—shifting from creating value-driven brands to leading with her values as an Orthodox Jewish woman. Now co-founder of The Healer's Collection, Joyce shares her passion, spirituality, and rich experiences to inspire audiences nationwide. She lives in Miami, Florida, with her children.
