Because most cases of SCLC are diagnosed at advanced stages, it is rarely curable by the time of diagnosis. However, for some patients, treatment can improve quality of life. Multidisciplinary care coordination is especially important with aggressive cases of SCLC, as there may be several unique challenges to be addressed. CANCER BUZZ spoke to Ahmed Al-Hazzouri, MD, Medical Oncologist, Ryan Schroeder, MD, Pulmonologist, and Justin Wu, MD, Radiation Oncologist, from AdventHealth's Cancer Institute Waterman, Tavares, FL. Hear what impact a multidisciplinary team approach can have on patient experience and health outcomes. “The Lung Nodule Clinic is a way for us to also promote community outreach to say, not only should you get screened, and educate the public about being screened, but can help you if there is an applicable finding.” – J. Picture © Lou Dommett Young One of the many highlights of the 2022 XTC Convention in Swindon was an in-depth interview with producer John Leckie. Talking to co-organiser Darryl Bullock, he recalled his formative studio experience working with former members of the Beatles and the excitement of going into the studio with XTC for their first two albums. After that came the sonic experiments of Go+ and Take Away/The Lure of Salvage and, of course, 25 O'Clock and Psonic Psunspot for the Dukes of Stratosphear. Many thanks to Darryl for conducting the interview and sound engineer Paul Bullimore who made the audio possible – not just for this but the whole weekend. What Do You Call That Noise? Usage-Based Pricing is trending across the B2B SaaS and Cloud industry. This pricing model is not new and is also known as Consumption pricing as the cost of the service or product increases as the "consumption" of the product increases.Saas has traditionally become known for the use of subscription pricing, which often associates an annual subscription cost for each user of the product. In this scenario, the cost would only increase as additional users were assigned a "seat" and were then able to use the product in an unlimited fashion for that one annual "subscription" price. One of the challenges that come with the use of Usage-Based pricing in the SaaS industry is how to compensate salespeople for both the acquisition of a new customer, but also for the actual usage and relating revenue over time.Rachel Parrinello leads the Sales Compensation practice at The Alexander Group and works with many leading B2B SaaS companies that use a Usage-Based pricing model. Based upon her unique insights into and experience with multiple different compensation models and plans, we dove right into the evolution of sales compensation plans within Usage-Based pricing environments.Rachel uses an acronym called ILAER model which stands for Identify, Land, Adopt, Expand and Renew model. In this environment, there are multiple variables to consider in the design of compensation plans such as how to compensate retention, renewals, and expansions - then in the context of a much smaller value to the initial contract value.Four basic types of pricing models in Usage-Based Pricing environments:1. No contact and no minimum contract - Pay as your Go2. Uncommitted contract - There is a contract but no minimum commitment to usage or revenue3. Committed contract - Prepaid pool of funds that will be used against usage over the agreement term, often a year. The agreement includes the minimum usage, price per unit of usage, and the associated minimum revenue over the agreement4. Hybrid (committed + non-committed) contract: A minimum usage is agreed to, however the projected usage is typically forecasted to be much larger than the contractual minimum and reduced unit pricing is predetermined within the agreementWe then moved to the "sales compensation" plan for the above models. Rachel started with the importance of identifying the "persuasion" event and ensuring the sales compensation plan is aligned and rewards for achieving the persuasion event. The persuasion event may be the original customer acquisition event and paying for a part of the "projected revenue" be paid at the time of the persuasion event and additional compensation as the actual usage and associated revenue happens. The conversation quickly moved to the different roles involved in the acquisition and growth of the customer. One traditional model is the hunter/farmer model where the hunter is responsible for acquiring the customer and the farmer is responsible for growing the customer after the initial acquisition. A new role, called the "rancher" has evolved in the Usage-Based Pricing world, and they have the responsibility for both acquiring the customer and growing the customer. In the "rancher" model, one defining variable to determine if this is right for a company, it starts with the amount and level of information that needs to be transferred after the initial close. If the knowledge and level of customer information are large, consider using the rancher model, at least for the first 12-24 months after the initial close. If you are a participant or leader responsible for sales compensation models in a Usage-Based environment, Rachel is a must listen!

I am now a convert. But… It's only got 32GB memory and video resolution maxes-out at 1440. However… Results look as good as my 4K GoPro. Image stabilization isn't as good as GoPro, but in most cases it's OK. The app is versatile, but it takes some learning to get the best from it. The camera is waterproof. There are various accessories in the box… Charging case (which also acts like a micro-tripod). Magnet with a cord (so you can attach the camera on something like a shirt). Easy Clip mount (you could attach to a peaked hat). A pivot stand (you can attach to almost anything). I have an embarrassing number of action cameras but the USP with the Go2 is I can carry it all the time in a pocket. In this message, Pastor Mark Francey, first addresses why some of us are not seeing signs and miracles. When we don't see signs, it is not because God isn't powerful. Often it is because we have not done the three things we are asked to do ask believers. We are not called just to believe, but to influence. We are not suppose to follow signs, but signs are suppose to follow us. God has given us the authority to push back darkness in the areas which we live. We will see signs follow when we refuse to live our lives in the shadow of fear and start leveraging our voice when God wants us to use it. Believers 1. Go2. Preach3. BelieveGood Signs1. A year ago I will admit that I only owned one XTC compilation CD. I didn't know what I was missing. For this weeks show dived deep into the classic period ('78-'82) of XTC, and came out the other end absolutely mesmerized by their music. The talent this band had was off the charts and it's a shame they never reached the success in the states they deserved. This episode features mostly deep cuts, but I do throw in some of their bigger songs that charted in the UK since they never made an impact in the US. I do not own the rights to any of the music played on this podcast. The musicians or the music labels own the copyright. I play this music under the doctrine of Fair Use. I am not here as a DJ, but to offer music commentary and criticism. My goal is for you to gain a larger appreciation for the bands or the musicians played here on this podcast and I ask for you to go out and purchase their music or legally stream it. The musicians need your support and I hope this show contributes to spreading the good word about the bands you hear on these episodes. I do not profit in any way from this podcast. It is truly done out of my pure love of the music.Follow the ABC's of rock on Facebook @abcofrockpodcast and on Twitter @abcrockpodcast, or email me directly at abcofrockpodcast@gmail.comFeatured songs (read ahead OR be surprised!!!)Radios In MotionSpinning TopBattery Brides (Andy Paints Brian)Crowded RoomMaking Plans For NigelHelicopterGenerals and MajorsNo Language In Our LungsSenses Working OvertimeAll Of A Sudden (It's Too Late)Generals and Majors Music Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p-JeQduJ0f8&t=188s
Jason and Matthew interview Dr. Gregoire Courtine, the Chief Science Officer of GTX Medical and Professor at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology. Dr. Courtine has been researching spinal cord stimulation for over 20 years and is hoping to bring that research to clinical relevance with emerging clinical trials with GTX’s LIFT (non-invasive electrical spinal cord stimulation) and GO2 (targeted epidural spinal stimulation). We will continue the conversation in an upcoming Part 2 with Dr. Courtine about the research, the development of GTX and both the possibilities and limitations for functional recovery now and in the future. Grégoire Courtine was originally trained in Mathematics and Physics, but received his PhD degree in Experimental Medicine from the University of Pavia, Italy, and the INSERM Plasticity and Motricity, in France, in 2003. From 2004-2007, he held a Postdoctoral Fellow position at the Brain Research Institute, University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) under the supervision of Dr. Reggie Edgerton, and was a research associate for the Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation (CDRF). In 2008, he became Assistant Professor at the faculty of Medicine of the University of Zurich where he established his own research laboratory. In 2012, he was nominated Associate Professor at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne (EPFL) where he holds the International paraplegic foundation (IRP) chair in spinal cord repair at the Center for Neuroprosthetics and the Brain Mind Institute. He published several articles proposing radically new approaches for restoring function after spinal cord injury, which were discussed in national and international press extensively. He received numerous honors and awards such as the 2007 UCLA Chancellor's award for excellence in post-doctoral research and the 2009 Schellenberg Prize for his innovative research in spinal cord injury awarded by the International Foundation of Research in Paraplegia. https://www.gtxmedical.com/ https://people.epfl.ch/gregoire.courtine/?lang=en

A new concept in software workstations came out this week as Berlin-based company ZenAud.io introduced ALK2, a hybrid program combining elements of DAW software with a live performance looper. ALK2 lets songwriters create complex arrangements first, which they can then perform and playback live as loops. Other advantages over hardware loopers include loops of varying length, plug-in support, and better options for correcting mistakes. ALK2 is selling now for 199 euros. Veteran synthesist Rob Papen released his latest virtual synthesizer plug-in, Go2, for the low price of $49 USD or euros. Go2 was made to be user-friendly for beginners or time-saving for professionals. It features a wave-morphing oscillator, XY pad, modulation matrix, more than 600 presets, and much more. In hardware synthesizer news, Dreadbox announced the Li’l Erebus DIY Kit. Li’l Erebus is a do-it-yourself version of the Erebus paraphonic analog synthesizer. Li’l Erebus has two oscillators, a filter, voltage controlled echo and LFO, 16 patch points, and built-in MIDI to CV conversion. You can buy Li’l Erebus now for 158 euros for the Eurorack version, or 200 euros for the desktop version. Dreadbox should have more news coming up at the Superbooth18 show in Berlin, and I’ll those headlines on next week’s episode. This episode is doubly special - not only does Emily join Mike for a second consecutive week, but the dashing Disnerds are also joined by two Very Important People. Keston and Andrea Ott-Dahl have a daughter, Delaney, with Down's Syndrome - and they want Disney to create meaningful characters who represent Delaney, and other disabled folks - and they want YOU to sign a petition in favour! We hear about how Delaney came into the world, and how Keston transformed from ableist to disability activist, and how this new lens showed her the sad lack of representation in the world of kids' and family media (Hell, media in general). It's a wide-ranging discussion, touching on intersectional awareness, the power of siblings, the way the internet empowers all of us to be proud and do good - and, of course, how Disney fits into all this! If you're buzzing as much after listening as we were after recording, let us know - Like us, and Delaney, on Facebook; Follow us, and the upcoming book all about Delaney, on Twitter; subscribe to us on iTunes (and there should totally be an Ott-Dahl podcast...), and email us, at disnerds@gmail.com - and, as always, enjoy! • When making a trip to the pharmacy to buy some medicine there is something you can not see the time of purchase, is what happens behind the scenes. Behind the scenes, the pharmacist in a lab takes several bottles of chemicals, mix them together and makes the medicine we buy. Some of the chemicals used are dangerous, even fatal, however, when they are mixed in adequate amounts, these chemicals can heal our bodies in return for damage. Audio of the Sermon. • Imagine the following description of the man and his new car. He saves enough money to buy a car before finally buying it. Then he parked the car in the driveway, wash it, polish it, it displays your friends, even sitting in the car all afternoon. He does not know how to turn on his car so, he pushes it to wherever he goes. Sounds rather silly story, right? Audio of the Sermon. Video of the sermon. • You know how an Eskimo kills a wolf? The Eskimo takes a knife blade with blood soaking and then let it freeze. • "Communion", the believer is like the sound of that word, sounds cool, indeed, is one word that as believers identify with food. But in reality, the word communion means something different to that, the word communion means "things in common." It involves standing next to someone on common ground. So imagine, how glorious the following statement when we are in communion with God: "God wants to be closer and personal with us, where we can stand together on common ground with him." Sounds great, right? However, this concept for many believers to fellowship with God, to stand together on common ground with him, it seems an impossible and unattainable.Audio of the Sermon. David committed adultery and then in an effort to conceal his sin, he committed murder. After a while, David was confronted about his sin by the prophet Nathan. And it was only after his sins were made public that David decided to repent. So, during this time of repentance and soul, David wrote this Psalm. In this psalm is an expression of desire and need for the believer to be right with God after a fall. Now, to drop the subject of more staff and begin to understand better from this starting point, Satan is the tempter and tempted him to every believer to sinAudio of the Sermon.Download the PDF • Descarge el PDFemail: Senior Pastor Joshua PintoFaro Church20918 Bake PkwySuite 108Lake Forest, CA 92630949.916.3276www.farous.org
Podemos tener una verdadera seguridad de nuestra salvación en nuestro corazón y en nuestra alma.•The Christian can know for sure their safe and destiny is heaven. Faro Church20918 Bake PkwySuite 108Lake Forest, CA 92630949.916.FAROwww.farous.org
Me pregunto… Audio of the Sermon: Did you know that there is a new area of study known as socialnomics? It is actually the study of how social media transforms and affects our lives, and business. Websites like, Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter are leading the charge.Socialnomics also includes to some extent, how smart phones and texting transforms and affects our lives and business. This field of study became popular because of a book titled, Socialnomics written by a man named Eric Qualman. In his book he studied the effect of social media in our culture and this is what he found: (http://socialnomics.net/)He found that 96% of the world’s population under 30-years-old has joined a social network. That’s 50% of the world’s population. He also found that Social Media has affected the way people meet. Did you know that 1 out of 8 couples married in the U.S. last year met via social media? It is interesting, he notes, to see how it took Radio 38 years to reach 50 million followers; it took TV 13 years to reach 50 million followers; it took the Internet 4 years to reach 50 million followers; it took iPod 3 years to reach 50 million followers. However, Facebook, the leading social media website, added over 200 million users in less than a year.In the last 9 months Facebook added 100,000 million subscribers. If Facebook were a country it would be the world’s 3rd largest ahead of the United States and only behind China and India. The fastest growing segment on Facebook is 55-65 year-old females.Twitter, which is another leading social media website, displays that Ashton Kutcher and Ellen Degeneres (combined) have more Twitter followers than the populations of Ireland, Norway, or Panama.“We don’t have a choice on whether we DO social media; the question is how well we DO it.” --Eric Qualman…Read more about the sermon.Pastor Steve PintoFaro Church20918 Bake PkwySuite 108Lake Forest CA, 92630949.916.3276www.farous.org
¡No! ¡No! Max Lucado - “No Wonder They Call Him The Savior”“La cruz. It is "Fervor to Defend." Fervor to defend what? It is the fervor to defend the honor of God. David, who had already proved faithful in his duties before God and man, now heads to defend the honor of God and His people. Conquerors are men and women who have faith, who have overcome their fears, and have a clear focus on God. The conqueror has come to understand that to be a conqueror, they will face the enemy to defend the honor of God. Many Christians like to pray for strength, but what they fail to realize is where that strength comes from. The reason why many of us are not conquerors is because our focus is always on what happens to us. James W. Kennedy said, "What's really interesting is what happens in us, not what happens to us." The Bible clearly teaches us that the conqueror has fervor to defend their faith in God and to stand firm against the enemy and thus honor God's name.•La segunda cualidad de un vencedor sigue las pisadas de la primera y es, ?Fervor al defender?; ¿Fervor al defender que?

Chain of Wealth - Debt, Investing, Entrepreneurship, Wealth & More
Original Show Notes: Become Richer with Matt Lane Matt Lane is a the author of the blog, Optimize Your Life. As a part time blogger, and full time attorney, husband and new father, Matt’s goal is to help people learn that the purpose of money is to allow us to live a happier life, so we need to focus on the big picture of how to build that happy life rather than just focusing on the money and fun fact- we randomly found out we’re neighbors! Welcome! [2:48] Hi. Hi how are you. Good. [2:52] So you’re also a neighbor and local to D.C.. What do you like to do when people come to visit you from out of town. [3:2] Yeah. Well I think it depends on whether they’re new to D.C. whether they’ve been here a bunch of times. The first Go2 is always the monuments and museums which seems to be pretty obvious for D.C. locals. Free and amazing for people that haven’t been there before. It’s really like the essence of D.C. For folks that have been there before and have done all the museums. There’s really a great restaurant scene here now which is pretty interesting and there’s a lot of good breweries and wineries in the area. So depending on what people’s interests are like to hit those up. [3:47] So let’s chat about your blog a little bit, so your blog optimize your life. You had a popular post that was titled Hard work doesn’t pay. Can you tell us a little bit about it. [3:57] Sure. So the idea behind it is that there are there’s a large change going on in the economy and we are not really adjusting to meet that change. [4:13] So as basic as background it’s dealing with the value of capital versus the value of labor. [4:22] Any money changes hands is either going to capital or to labor. So if I make money you make money by working which is Labor or by making money off of my investments which is capital in the same way if I buy something from Wal-Mart. Part of that money goes to the shareholders which is the capital and then part of that money is paid to the workers whether they’re the folks working the floor are the cashier the manufacturer and the truck driver that delivers it. That’s all labor so what we’ve seen from the data is that from at least the 1400’s through around 1970 the share of money going to capital and the share of money going to Labor has been relatively consistent. There’s been some ups and downs there’s been some times when capital makes a bit more sometimes when labor makes a bit more but it’s relatively consistent since 1970 that has been off the charts. The value of labor has been going down down down the value of capital has been going up up up. And this is a huge change that we’re not really addressing at all. And it’s one of the drivers of inequality that we see right now in that the people with the most stock are generally the people with the most money and the people that rely the most on work are the people that are the poorest. So as it gets easier to make money off of stock the rich are getting richer and as it’s harder to make money off of your labor the poor are struggling more and more. [6:14] Yeah and I think artificial intelligence is definitely one of the. One of the drivers behind this globalism as well in the U.S. it’s going faster than in the rest of the world. So we’re seeing it’s also the decline of unions and deregulate it de regularisation deregulation deregulation early don’t. Yes. So deregulation and the decline of unions are sort of speeding right along. But I don’t see any real way to change this trend. I’m sure there must be one but with a eye in globalization kind of just pushing relentlessly. You know it seems like we may need to go to something like a universal basic income or you know some other method of redistribution to address the trend. So where did the idea for your blog come from so I get sort of obsessive about learning different things. And I’ve gone through a lot of different phases of that happiness in psychology economics and economic policy personal finance financial independence and I hit a point where enough people were asking me for advice on all of those different topics that I thought it might make sense to to write about it publicly that there may be some value there for people that I know that were not in my friend circle. So I decided to start working on that. [7:49] And I felt like they could all be sort of drawn together by the idea that they all contribute towards living a better life fantastics. [7:58] What would you say some of your goals are for Optimized Your Life? [8:2] I think for the most part I want to help people look at the bigger picture. I consider myself in the personal finance space even though I spend maybe a third of my time talking about personal finance. But I think one of the issues with a lot of personal finance writing is that you get bogged down in the details. You know how can I save more money. How can I invest more. How can I make more. And that’s all good. That all helps. [8:35] But if you get too lost in the numbers then you forget why you need more money why you want more money. [8:42] And it’s important to remember that it’s all for a greater purpose that you need to be able to step back be able to work towards that happier life and not just more money. [8:53] So talking about money you have had quite a few side hustles in your day. Have you had a favorite or least favorite? [9:4] Sure. And I think I don’t know most of these I don’t know that I’ve considered them really side hustles. I just kind of take on work that I find interesting. So my you know my version of the side hustle is not really you know driving for Uber or Airbnb and that sort of thing. Although I had a few conversations with Kevin from Financial Panther and he is the master of all of that. So to that end I think the most fun that I’ve ever had on a sort of side job was I played trumpet for the U.S. national tennis teams. So I would fly around to different stadiums in the country and play in basically a pep band for you know sold out stadiums and it was super fun. [10:3] A lot of really cool and met a lot of you know great people and had a lot of fun. [10:9] Oh that’s really cool yeah. Have you had one of those. Not so great? [10:17] Between law school and my current job I had about six months where I was studying for the bar and then applying for government jobs and government hires much later than private sector jobs. So I was trying to make enough money to pay rent. And at that time I was doing three separate part time jobs 30 hours a week sort of a legal temp job. [10:46] But one of the other jobs was I counting passengers on the metro. So I was trained to look at the number on each metro car on each subway car. And from that know how many seats were in it. And then as it rolled into the station and out of the station I was supposed to count the number of passengers in my assigned car write it down and then wait for the next train. [11:14] That’s not a very long time to count all those people that have been kind of hard. [11:20] It’s surprisingly hard but you kind of pick up the tricks and get good at sort of quickly eyeballing how many empty seats there are versus how many people are standing. And it’s hard to estimate based on that. I didn’t even know those a thing. [11:40] Yeah I actually had a random train job as well, where I had to count the coaches because the company that I was well the company also contracted to. They don’t know how many trains they had so we were counting out the units of each coach and each locomotive and each actual train. It was quite an education I must say. [12:4] It’s interesting it’s always bizarre seeing sort of what jobs exist that you would never have thought could exist. [12:11] Yeah I don’t mean like it doesn’t sound like a glorious job but at the end of the day each one of these trains a scrap value of about $5000. So even if you find one, then it’s worthwhile. [12:24] Yeah yeah sure. Wow. [12:31] Ok. Well you’re also a new dad? Congratulations. [12:37] Thank you very much. [12:38] So what is the biggest shock when it comes to the parenting I know you can’t like really be prepared and you probably didn’t actually know what you were doing. [12:52] So I will start this by saying I’m seven weeks in and things can change a lot. But at this point I think I’ve been surprised that the actual caring for a tiny human. Not part of the job has been easier than I expected. But the lack of sleep has been so much harder to deal with. You know everyone tells you you’re not going to get sleep and you know you’re prepared not to sleep as much. [13:27] I was not fully prepared for that. I can certainly imagine I’ll become a different person when I’m tired. [13:37] Yeah yeah. [13:38] And I actually I recently published an article on how important sleep is to productivity. And I had planned the article before the baby was born. [13:49] And I had done and I had done all the research and then I went I actually wrote it a couple of weeks ago. [13:56] I wrote it with the research and then saying OK yeah this is true. Here’s how this has affected my mood. Here’s how this has affected my health. Here’s one this has affected my productivity and it’s it’s pretty intense. [14:10] Awesome! Do you have any subsequent tips when it comes to paying for day care since it’s such a big expense. [14:17] Yeah. Daycare is insane especially especially in this area where we live so we my wife and I looked at a lot of different daycares in the area and for sort of the certified safety certified daycares you’re looking at between 20 and 30 thousand a year. [14:44] Wow. [14:47] Yeah. The median individual income in the United States is thirty thousand dollars. So I it’s just bonkers and I don’t understand how people without sort of being lucky enough to have our paychecks manage it. That’s insane. Well yeah but it’s I think really the best advice is just sort of plan for it as best you can. You know we we picked our favorites and we looked towards the lower end of that spectrum and we got on wait lists and it turns out we’re almost to the point where we need to put them into daycare where my wife and I are both going to be working. [15:29] And the only daycare and it looks like we’re going to get off the waitlist is the most expensive of course because people who are taking their kid out can’t afford it right. [15:44] So where you know as much as I would love to be able to say you know here’s a hack to getting cheaper daycare I think the best approach is just plan ahead of time try to get your expenses down so that you can handle it and you know figure out what works best for you and your family. So why do you think people struggle to achieve their dreams? [16:34] Well that’s a very tough question. [16:37] I think there are two types of parallel answers here. I think the first is that some people just don’t have the opportunity and that’s tough to hear. [16:53] But you know if you’re working three minimum wage jobs to be able to feed your family you don’t really have the time to go after your goals. It’s you know there’s we live in a pretty unequal society and you know there’s two that’s just sort of a tough reality that we that we face. [17:18] And that’s not actionable either. But it’s important to remember that that you know if you have the opportunity to pursue goals then you are already sort of in the privileged few. And that’s something that you know we should all be grateful for and something that we should remember. But for more actionable information that’s actually useful for your listeners. I think that we tend to approach big goals as you know dreams that we hope come to us rather than problems that we need to solve. For 2018 on my blog I’m doing each month I’m focusing on a different area of life and sort of working on how to improve that. And I started in January with wife planning which was not something I ever really spent any time on or done any research on. So I read a ton of books took you know some of the online courses read as much as I could and everyone has their own spin but it really breaks down to three steps. You pick an area of your life and then you figure out where you are where you want to go and then a plan to get from A to B. Right. And I think that’s what we need to be doing with our goals. We need to figure out what we really want we need to figure out where we are relative to that and we need to make a plan a solid plan to get from where we are to where we want to be. And I think most people just don’t actually break it down like that. [18:50] That is definitely actionable. So could you recommend any other books will put cost formlessness. [18:58] Sure. I’m sure that others because you have a lot of personal finance so I’m sure that others have recommended Your Money or Your Life. I think that’s sort of the most game changing book in the finance. But as to sort of success generally I’d say Cal Newport has a couple of really good books deep work and so good they can’t ignore you. And then on happiness I think the how of happiness by Sonia Eliava Moreschi. It’s just google happiness. That’s I think the best book in the space. It’s very much research based. So it’s a bit drier but it really is sort of most books and unhappiness are sort of here’s what makes me happy. [19:48] This book is Here’s what I study after study after study has shown works on the majority of people and gives you really actionable ways to make your life happier right now which I think is is great and really useful and so many people need that kind of like jumpstart. [20:8] Yeah. Yeah for sure. Yes. Do you have a favorite quote. [20:12] I kind of go through quotes depending on where I am in life. I think last year my my quote was the way you do anything is the way you do everything. Which the sort of ideas. There’s no there’s no small. There are no small things right. You’re constantly creating who you are and you can’t take shortcuts to that you know. Are you someone that has says things. Are you someone that takes take shortcuts. Because if you do that on things that you feel like don’t matter. It becomes easier to fall into the habit of doing them on things that do matter and it’s not always easy to delineate and to avoid that slippery slope. As of right now I don’t know that there are necessarily quotes but I have to post it notes on my desk. One is one says Where is the resistance on which is this idea that there’s always something that you’re instinctively avoiding. And I’ve found that if you figure out what that is and go that first thing in the day the rest of the day will go so much smoother. And it’s it’s tough to do. [21:30] You know it’s it’s hard to sort of feel like okay whereas a big hurdle let me jump that. But if you do that early in the day everything else becomes easier. And so I’ve found that having that quote by my computer is really useful. The other one is I it just says progress. Which is a reminder that even when something feels overwhelming I need to just keep moving forward a little bit of progress every day will eventually add up to something big. I don’t need to knock it out of the park every day. I just need to move forward. [22:0] That’s definitely true. It’s easy to lose track of where you’re going to if you get stuck in the rat race for sure. [22:9] Awesome. Matt we loved hanging out today. What is the best advice someone has ever given you. And then we’ll say goodbye. [22:17] Sure. So I think I don’t know that I would call it necessarily advice given to me but I think that the the most impactful advice that I’ve read was from Gail Collins who is sort of one of the fathers of the financial independence movement. [22:36] He was one of the early bloggers there and his he really sold the idea of what he calls a few money which is basically saving up enough money that it doesn’t matter what people think of you. So that if someone tells you to do something you can say F you I’m not do and I found that once I had a bit saved up I could be more open in disagreeing with my boss or with upper management at work. Because I wasn’t afraid of losing my job I didn’t have to worry about paying rent next month if I lost my job today. And that really made me a lot better at my job. It made my boss it made upper management respect me more. It made me they gave me more authority. They gave me more room to do what I thought was right. [23:33] And this in turn led to raises promotions awards and commendations that really never would have happened if I hadn’t had that money saved up to be able to feel confident in and you know challenging the system. You know you’re much better at anything when you aren’t overly attached to it. And I think that has been really powerful I think in passing that on. I don’t know that I would necessarily call that a few money for that particular approach but I think maybe just saving up enough to buy yourself some confidence. Has been a really powerful [24:14] Chainers we’ve been hanging out with Matt Lane. [24:17] You can check out his Web site at optimize your life.
