Send us a textIn this powerful kickoff to a 3-part Captain America series, Vanessa Jackson unpacks what makes Steve Rogers more than just a superhero — and how his journey mirrors that of so many teachers today. From being paraded as a symbol to reclaiming his purpose, Cap's story is one of values, conviction, and courageous action.Vanessa explores how educators, like Cap, often feel reduced to performance — test scores, politics, or being treated like glorified babysitters — instead of being honored as the impact-makers they truly are. If you're feeling lost in the system or questioning your next move, this episode will help you find your compass again.

I got an email from someone saying, “Hey, you should interview this guy… He used to be the CEO of Marvel.” And I thought... wait, like Marvel-Marvel? As in Iron Man and Spider-Man?? Yeah… That guy. His name's Peter Cuneo, and what he shared about leadership, storytelling, and turnarounds is pure gold. We talked about how he rebuilt Marvel from the ground up, and got to learn multiple lessons that will be in his upcoming book! He's one of the most fascinating leaders I've ever talked to. What he did at Marvel wasn't just a financial turnaround, it was a transformation in leadership, storytelling, and how to connect people emotionally to a brand. Key Highlights: ◼️How Marvel used character development to rebuild emotional connection with fans ◼️Why great leaders embrace flaws and authenticity to build trust ◼️How consistent communication (like Peter's pizza lunches) transforms culture ◼️Why strong leaders take ownership, admit mistakes, and lead through change ◼️The leadership framework behind his upcoming book Super Hero Leadership This conversation completely reframed how I think about leadership. Peter reminded me that people don't follow products or plans… They follow characters. The same way fans connect to Iron Man or Captain America, your customers and employees connect to you when you let them see who you really are…. And communicate effectively with your team! ◼️If you've got a product, offer, service… or idea… I'll show you how to sell it (the RIGHT way) Register for my next event → https://sellingonline.com/podcast ◼️Still don't have a funnel? Total THB has always felt like a living piece of your imagination—something that evolved alongside you. Now that you're returning to it after thirty years, what does it mean to finally see it presented as the definitive version you always envisioned?7. In your introduction, you mention artists like Bruegel, Motherwell, and Rodin alongside Kirby, Moebius, and Miyazaki. That's a fascinating cross-section of influences—how do you see Total THB sitting at the intersection of those worlds now?2. In your introduction, you talk about the seed idea—“small things exploding into big things.” How has that core concept shaped your storytelling and visual philosophy across your entire career, and how does it feel to return to it now with decades of experience behind you?8. Total THB is set on a divided Mars, a world of art versus bureaucracy, chaos versus control. Given how global politics and culture have evolved since the '90s, do you see new relevance—or new warnings—in the story's setting and themes?5. The relationship between HR and THB—the sheltered daughter and her enigmatic bodyguard—feels both intimate and mythic. How do you see their dynamic now, and what new layers do you hope readers discover in this remastered edition?6. You've described superheroes before as modern myths — figures that blend pulp with poetry. Having moved between corporate superhero universes and your own creator-owned worlds, what do you think mainstream superhero comics could still learn from the spirit of self-publishing that birthed THB*?*

Welcome back to Not A Bomb! —the podcast where we resurrect cinema's most infamous box office disasters and ask the burning question: was it really that bad? We're celebrating five years of cinematic redemption.November's here, and that means it's time for our annual deep dive into the biggest cinematic faceplants of the year. First up, one of 2025's superhero-sized stumbles — Captain America: Brave New World. With Sam Wilson stepping into the shielded spotlight, the film promises a bold new chapter in the legacy of America's most iconic hero. But behind the patriotic veneer lies a tangled web of rewrites, reshoots, and a post-production timeline that rivals a presidential campaign. Is this a gripping political thriller worthy of the Winter Soldier legacy—or a bloated blockbuster weighed down by too many cooks in the writers' room?As Thunderbolt Ross ascends to the presidency and global tensions simmer, Brave New World aims to blend superhero spectacle with cloak-and-dagger intrigue. But does it soar or sink?Tune in as Troy and Brad break down the film's ambitions, its execution, and whether Marvel's latest gamble is a brave new triumph—or a not-so-subtle bomb.

In this Scene Missing episode, John Siuntres joins Wayne Mousseau and Mitch Hallock to dissect the newly unearthed Director's Cut of the infamous 1990 Captain America film. Long dismissed as a curious relic of pre-MCU comic-book cinema, this version restores nearly 20 minutes of footage, deepening the Cold War paranoia and emotional stakes that the theatrical release fumbled. The trio dives into how director Albert Pyun's original vision—once buried under studio edits and budget constraints—finally gets its due. They discuss the extended opening in 1943, richer character beats for Steve Rogers and the Red Skull, and the tonal tug-of-war between gritty espionage and pulp heroics.Wayne spotlights Pyun's visual ambition on a shoestring budget; Mitch breaks down how the new cut reframes Cap as a tragic man out of time; and John connects the film's underdog spirit to the larger legacy of Marvel adaptations before Blade and X-Men changed the game. It's a spirited, funny, and surprisingly affectionate reassessment of a movie once mocked and now rediscovered—part history lesson, part fandom therapy session. Scene Missing proves again that even flawed heroes deserve a second look.

Batman has an 85-year legacy filled with reinvention. What made now the right time to bring the Dark Knight into the Skybox Metal Universe, and why was he chosen as the first DC hero to headline this line?2. Metal Universe is known for its cutting-edge printing innovations — from etched foil to die-cuts and lenticular cards. Can you walk us through the technology that makes these cards stand out physically in-hand and how that translates to the Gotham aesthetic?3. Each Metal Universe line has its own visual identity, whether cosmic, heroic, or elemental. How did your team translate Batman's world — all shadow, grit, and neon — into the visual language of the brand?4. This set spans decades of Gotham history. What was the process for selecting which eras, storylines, and character designs to include, and how did you balance nostalgia with innovation?5. The set features signatures from legendary creators like Gail Simone and Marv Wolfman. What does it mean to have the actual architects of Gotham's mythology participate in this project, and how do their cards fit into the collector experience?6. How do you feel about people selling these on ebay?7. How do you pick out art?8. Your thoughts on the use of a.i. art?8. Can you tease any product on the way?9. (Fun one!) If you were designing your own “Grant Sandground” insert card for the set, what kind of foil finish or chase rarity would it have — and which Gotham character would you want to share a dual card with?

Welcome to Multiverse News, Your source for Information about all your favorite fictional universesDuring a recent round of interviews with various comic-centric YouTube channels last week, James Gunn seemingly revealed that despite rampant speculation, his DCU is not building toward the character of Darkseid as a “big bad”. As to why he's not pursuing what many fans might argue is the obvious direction for the studio, he cited the efforts of the comic book cinematic universes that paved the way for his own, saying, "Using Darkseid as the big bad now is not necessarily the thing... because Zack did it so cool in his way and because of Thanos and Marvel." Gunn expanded his thoughts on both, acknowledging some of the shortcomings of the DCEU and detailing how similar Thanos and Darkseid are that it wouldn't feel fresh for audiences. While Marvel has yet to confirm the much-discussed Scarlet Witch's return to the MCU, in a new interview with beauty, fashion and pop culture outlet InStyle, Elizabeth Olsen reiterated that she's ready to step back into the role. "It's ridiculous," she said of making MCU movies. "We're grown people behaving like children on a playground. We're flying. We're shooting things out of our hands. And it's a character that I've gotten to return to so many times over 10 years. It's good to put her down and then I miss her, and I want her back. I'd jump at the opportunity to be in her shoes again." Last week, Netflix revealed its plans to release the feature-length finale of Stranger Things' final season in theaters, reversing course after the streamer had previously rejected the Duffer Brothers' theatrical release pitch. Theaters will screen the finale starting Dec. 31 at 5 p.m. PT — coinciding with its global Netflix debut — and continuing through Jan. 1, 2026. Disney+ will begin streaming The Fantastic Four: First Steps on Nov. 5, following the film's $521 million worldwide box office haul over the summer.Over the weekend, Sony's Crunchyroll released Chainsaw Man – The Movie, which topped the domestic box office with $17.2 million and reached $108 million globally. Black Phone 2 continued its solid run, surpassing $80 million worldwide. Regretting You debuted in third place with a better-than-expected $22.9 million, while the Bruce Springsteen biopic Deliver Me From Nowhere disappointed with $16.1 million in its opening weekend.Paramount Pictures is finalizing a deal to acquire Ti West's adaptation of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol, with Johnny Depp set to play Ebenezer Scrooge. The film will release on November 13, 2026.Michael B. Jordan and Austin Butler are in talks to star in Joseph Kosinski‘s big-screen reboot of Miami Vice.Sony Pictures Animation will produce a sequel to its 2021 Oscar-nominated feature The Mitchells vs. the Machines. Production is expected to begin early next year.IMAX has unveiled its planned releases for 2026 at an Investor Presentation and at this moment, Spider-Man Brand New Day is not included in the lineup. The film will be released on July 31, which means it's debuting right in the middle of a pretty crowded IMAX season: the live-action Moana and The Odyssey are arriving on July 10 and July 17, respectively.Disney has officially exited its partnership with the BBC on Doctor Who after two years. For now, the BBC does plan to air an upcoming Christmas special next year and then continue the series on the network.Captain America star Chris Evans and his wife Alba Baptista have welcomed their first child, a girl named Alma Grace Baptista Evans
All Negro Comics is a landmark issue in U.S. Comic History curated in 1947 by Orrin C. Evans a journalist at the Philadelphia Record (now the Philadelphia Inquirer). Evans intent was to provide positive portrayals of Black Life and Heroism, the exact opposite to the negative stereotypes common in comics, TV, and Movies during that time. 8 years after Action Comics #1 and 6 years after Captain America #1, All Negro Comics was the very first comic made entirely by Black Creators marking a step forward in media for that time. Introducing us to characters such as Ace Harlem, Lion Man, Sugarfoot and Snake Oil to Lil Eggie.Today, We speak with Chris Robinson-Writer/Editor of this historical book as he added new elements in this 75th anniversary issue to bridge the gap with not only the remastered works from the original issue, but Essays from Literary Scholars like Quiana Whitted of Rutgers University and Creators like David Brothers and Shawn Pryor making a connection from what the industry was in the 40's to where many Black Creators have found meaning in their own journey with comics today.Tell, Teach, TributeThe Book was first remastered in a Hardcover version 3 years ago through Kickstarter and now finds a new path as Image Comics has come to distribute the comics in a softcover format in October of 2025.All Negro Comics by Orrin C. La Turksploitation est un phénomène unique du cinéma turc, né dans les années 1970 et 1980, où des réalisateurs ont entrepris de copier les grands succès occidentaux – notamment américains – sans autorisation, ni moyens techniques, ni budget. Pastor Micah Stephens dives into Ephesians 6 as part of the anchored reading program, urging parents to disciple their children with a biblical worldview amid cultural darkness. Drawing from personal anecdotes like navigating family life with multiple kids and deciding against Halloween participation in favor of a worship night, he emphasizes shaping kids' views on God, humanity, truth, knowledge, and ethics to combat teenage apostasy. Through humor, like recalling the 1970s PSA "It's 10 p.m., do you know where your children are?" and cultural nods to Captain America, Stephens calls for intentional parenting that models repentance and prioritizes eternal kingdom value over worldly fun, aligning with the church's mission of applying Scripture to engage and transform society.Reference VersesEphesians 6 verses 1-4, Genesis 1 verse 1, Genesis 1 verse 27, Colossians 1 verses 16-17, Psalm 14 verse 1, 2 Corinthians 6 verses 14-16, Exodus 20 verse 12, Romans 3 verse 23, Psalm 8 verse 4, Psalm 139 verse 14, John 14 verse 6, John 17 verse 17, 2 Timothy 3 verse 16, Proverbs 1 verse 7, Colossians 2 verse 3, Romans 1 verse 20, Micah 6 verse 8, Isaiah 5 verse 20, Hebrews 13 verse 8, Deuteronomy 6 verses 4-9Make sure you subscribe to this channel and follow us on all our platforms to always stay up to date with our latest content! And you can always head over to our website for any general information! https://godspeak.comPrayer/NeedsIf you have any needs, or have a willingness to be used to meet various need in the body, please email info@godspeak.com.
