Mile High Chiro Podcast

The best teachers are those who have successfully done the things they teach. That is certainly the case with the very special guest on this episode of The Mile High Podcast.     Dr. Bobby Findley Jr. received his DC degree from Life College in 1986. At that time he was Life's youngest graduate at age 21. He opened and ran a high volume practice in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, for 25 years, and retired from practice at age 47. His next adventure was to go back to school, this time as a faculty member at Sherman College.   Dr. Bobby served on the South Carolina Board of Chiropractic Examiners from 1998 to 2002, and was the SCCA Board Member of the Year in 1998. He received the PSCA "Service to the Profession" award in 2022. Bobby's favorite quote is “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me”  - The Apostle Paul   On this podcast, you'll hear about: Bobby's chiropractic journey His two biggest mistakes in practice Why it's important for Chiropractors to "use our words" Mentoring a young DC And MUCH more!   Enjoy the conversation with this dynamic doctor and teacher. You'll hear Bobby highly recommend that you make your plans to attend Mile High 2025 in Denver, August 25th – 28th.  If you haven't done so already, get tickets for yourself and your team at https://RiseUpToMileHigh.com. Be sure to check out the VIP option when you register. this week, we are getting real about the ups and downs of transitioning into a new school year. whether you're in high school, college, or even out in the “real world,” adjusting to life after summer can be tough. I've felt overwhelmed by the extra responsibilities and harder classes, and I know so many of you are feeling the same. we chat about the stress of picking (or switching) a major and how it ties into figuring out a career path. spoiler alert: it's OK to change directions, even after you've graduated. we will also touch on preventing burnout, frustrations around internship/job applications, feeling lonely, and disappointment of the “school experience.”  this was a vulnerable episode, but if it makes you girlies feel less alone, I am all for it!

Support Wrestling with God Productions: https://www.GiveSendGo.com/WWGProductions Highlights, Ideas, and Wisdom The Most Important Decision in Life – College commencement speech by Bishop Robert Baron that inspired this episode The most important question in this life is what kind of soul you will have. “To love is to be vulnerable.” – CS Lewis “What you do with your soul really is a map to your future.” – Father Len Your soul is not your mental ability or your psychological profile. It's a thing that contains all the virtues of God and the spirit of God. The Old Testament describes heaven as a place of true relationship where people relate to each other soul to soul. From Strength to Strength: Finding Success, Happiness, and Deep Purpose in the Second Half of Life by Arthur Brooks Happiness comes down to care of your soul, not success in the world. “Everybody worships something. Everybody adores something. Everybody has something that gives their life meaning and worth. Everyone lets something capture their imagination. That thing will control the direction of your life. If you worship money and things, then you'll never feel like you have enough. If you worship your body and beauty and sexual allure, in time, you'll be resentful because you'll never be beautiful enough. You'll feel ugly. And, as time and age starts to show, you will die a million deaths. If you worship power, you'll end up feeling threatened and afraid. Read any biography of a dictator. You will need evermore power to numb you against the fear of being afraid. If you worship intellect, being seen as smart, you'll end up feeling stupid and a fraud and on the verge of being found out. The most insidious thing is, that for most people, it will remain unconscious, but it's their true religion.” – David Foster Wallace Whatever you worship shapes your soul and controls your life. Altered Traits: Science Reveals How Meditation Changes Your Mind, Brain, and Body by Daniel Goleman Meditation is one of the best ways to care for your soul and good for your health. Not all worship is good. Worshiping or calling on the name of God can be a way of manipulating evil. Good worship is supposed to lead you to self-sacrificing love. How to Choose Power Over Pain With Dr. Michelle DiBiase

Dr. Michelle DiBiase, a graduate of Georgia State University and Life College of Chiropractic, has been in private practice with her husband since 1999. Through the years, they have helped thousands of sufferers feel better again and adopt healthy lifestyle habits for whole-body healing. When confronted with chronic pain patients, Dr. DiBiase discovered that clinical findings did not always match the patient’s symptoms and that hidden, deep-rooted emotions were often involved. From that discovery, she developed the POP Method, a simple, step-by-step approach that anyone could use to address those hidden, anchored feelings and relieve their pain. Dr. DiBiase has dedicated herself to helping others find their power and to reach their highest potential. She lives in Waycross, Georgia, with her loving husband, John, and her two beautiful daughters, Ruby and Isabelle. Favorite Success Quote “If you change the way you look at things, the thing you look at change” ~Dr. Wayne Dyer Key Points 1. Your Emotional Struggles Can Cause Physical Pain When most people are struggling with pain, they fail to realize that often times, their pain is caused by a mental or emotional problem and not a physical problem. This could stem from childhood trauma, a tragic event, or simply personal insecurity. Whatever the case, you need to accept that your pain may not be a physical ailment and be willing to do the internal work necessary to fix it. 2. Identify What Your Key Emotions Are Causing Your Pain If you have come to the conclusion that your pain is being caused by your emotional state, the first step that you need to take is to identify which emotions are leading to the pain. Examine your life, both past, and present, for any potential traumas that might be leading to physical issues. This does not have to be something big either. It could simply be a belief that your genetics leave you predisposed for a certain ailment, something you were told when you were younger, or an insecurity that you developed about yourself. Be willing to take a long look at yourself and uncover exactly where the pain is coming from because until you do, you will not be able to fix it. 3. Reframe Your Pain and Become Grateful Once you have uncovered the emotional anchors that are holding you down, you need to reframe them and find a way to be grateful for them. The simple truth is, it is hard to be in pain when you are in a state of gratitude and love. Whatever past pain or hurt you are suffering from, there is something within it to be grateful for. Even the most traumatic and terrible events that you have faced have a silver lining. Whether they have simply molded you into a stronger person or allowed you to speak love into someone’s life who faced a similar struggle, you can always find a reason to be grateful. 4.Decide Whether Your Emotions Are Serving You Before the final step in the healing process can take place, you must examine your emotions and decide whether or not they are serving you on the path to becoming your strongest self. Is the anger, grief, bitterness, or self-loathing adding anything to your life? Is it making you a better, stronger, or more grounded man? Examine your emotions without bias and be brutally honest with yourself. You can never truly move on until you are willing to remove the mask and be vulnerable with yourself and others. 5. Release the Pain Once you have built a sense of gratitude for your struggles and developed a clear list of reasons why your current emotional state is no longer empowering you, it is time to release the pain. Let it go. Accept it for what it was. Be grateful for how it helped you become the man you are, but accept that you no longer need it in your life and let it go.

“The Chronicles of Dr. Joseph Rosado”

Dr. Joseph Rosado, MD is one of the world’s most respected medical authorities on cannabis as plant-based medicine. With over four decades of experience as a healthcare professional, he’s built a career anchored in family tradition and driven by a desire to help his patients and community. Dr. Rosado credits his father, Joseph Rosado Jr, an x-ray technician training to become a physician’s assistant before his untimely death. Losing his father spurred Dr. Rosado to start working at a young age to help support his family. He trained as a certified nurse’s assistant, then known as an orderly, and began working in the medical field in 1978 at age 16.     After high school, Dr. Rosado trained as an emergency medical technician, paramedic, and catheterization laboratory technician while working his way through college. A major car accident led Dr. Rosado to the field of chiropractic. After a chiropractor alleviated his agonizing back pain in just a few weeks of care, Dr. Rosado decided to explore the complementary medicine system. As a chiropractor, Dr. Rosado dedicated his practice to helping underserved communities, particularly those for whom English was a second language, ensuring that each patient received the highest quality of care that he could provide. Much more than a practitioner, Dr. Rosado became a friend, and for many, their only healthcare provider. Dr. Rosado’s decision to become a medical doctor was inspired by one such patient, who called in a frantic state when his daughter suffered a series of non-stop epileptic seizures. Distraught, the father sought Dr. Rosado’s support to save her life. Dr. Rosado provided critical advice to stabilize the girl, and then accompanied her family to the emergency room, where he translated for her terrified parents. The experience helped Dr. Rosado understand both the necessity of bilingual doctors and his own calling in medicine.    At the age of 35, Dr. Rosado entered medical school, quickly distinguishing him as a top student, while working his way through school as a husband and father. In medical school, he studied marijuana and determined that potential health and wellness benefits could be extracted from the plant. As a student and newly certified physician, Dr. Rosado worked throughout the Latin American Diaspora, setting up a clinic in Costa Rica, serving as a team doctor for the country’s Olympic teams and hotel concierge physician in the Dominican Republic, among other roles.  Family obligations brought Dr. Rosado back to the United States, where he leveraged his years of healthcare experience, rapidly rising to the top of Florida’s public health community as a physician, clinic and hospital director, and director of the communicable disease division/epidemiology and immunization departments for St. Johns County. In 2014, Dr. Rosado added his considerable professional expertise to the frontlines of Florida’s push for medical marijuana. One of the state’s first doctors advocating for medical cannabis, Dr. Rosado also had the distinction of being the first Central Florida physician to recommend medical marijuana for an adult patient, as well as the first to recommend it for a patient under the age of 18.  Presently, Dr. Rosado is the co-owner of Coastal Cannabis Clinics, a group of medical cannabis clinics in Volusia County, FL, the president and CEO of International Medical Consultants, the co-Medical Director for Minorities 4 Medical Marijuana and Medical Director for marijuanadoctors.com; and, on the scientific board of advisers for Medical Extractos in Medellin, Colombia and Ellipsis in Quebec, Canada. As a clinician he has worked with thousands of patients, from toddlers to the elderly, recommending medical cannabis and managing treatment. Dr. Rosado remains an outspoken advocate and highly sought-after speaker and educator with global impact, lecturing throughout the United States and abroad in Canada, Mexico, Malaysia, Fiji, Thailand, and a host of other countries. He’s appeared in a slew of national and local media outlets, including ABC, CBS, NBC, Rolling Stone, and The New York Times.  A published author, Dr. Rosado has written multiple articles for medical journals, as well as the bestselling book “Hope and Healing-A Case for Cannabis” In August 2019, he received the Physician of the Year Award at the Healthcare Achievement Awards sponsored by the Volusia County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, and in December 2019, he was named one of 65 Outstanding Black & Hispanic Men Leading in Cannabis by The WeedHead & Co. Dr. Rosado holds degrees in clinical nutrition and chiropractic medicine from Life College in Marietta, GA, a medical degree from Universidad Central del Este, in San Pedro de Macoris, Dominican Republic, where he graduated summa cum laude. In 2005, he completed his MBA in Health Care Management from the University of Phoenix and graduated magna cum laude. In 2018, he became a Diplomate of the American Academy of Cannabinoid Medicine. A proud father and grandfather, Dr. Rosado currently resides in DeLand, Florida. A special thank you to Eye Am Conchita Cosmetics for your support of the broadcast!

In doing so, we are committed to continuing the legacy of Rodney Stockton. THE STOCKTON ALOE HISTORY began in 1941, when a chemical engineer suffered severe sunburn while vacationing in Florida. Finding no available product that could soothe the pain and help heal the burn, the chemist began seeking a cure … a search that would soon change his life and his career. Local residents told him of a Seminole Indian medicine man who relied on a special salve to treat burns, wounds, and intestinal disorders. The chemist collected a sample of the plant from which the salve was derived. He then took it to a prominent botanical gardener, who called it by the traditional name, “Virgin Trinity.” The botanist said the plant was a rare variety of Aloe vera – thought to be a direct descendant of the plant Nicodemus used to help prepare the body of Jesus Christ for burial (John 19:39). That intriguing news led the chemist, Rodney M. Stockton, to conduct a study of Aloe plants from around the globe. He found none more effective for supporting health and helping heal skin conditions than the Virgin Trinity, now known as Aloe barbadensis miller-stockton. Stockton worked to stabilize the gel. He was then able to produce and distribute his Aloe Vera Gel Health Drink® and  (https://haleynutrition.com/product-category/personal-care/) . The drink was first introduced in 1951, and the ointment in 1953. Stockton remained vibrant and mentally sharp up to his passing in 2009, at 96 years of age. He attributed his excellent health to the fortunate discovery and regular use of Aloe barbadensis miller-stockton. Rodney Stockton’s longtime friend, Dr. Michael Haley, agreed to carry on the work. Dr. Haley pledged to cultivate and protect the Virgin Trinity. He continues to rely exclusively on the gel from that precious plant as the primary ingredient in every Aloe product Stockton Aloe 1 offers. That’s because more and more teens and university students are becoming aware of the devastating horror of abortion and are taking action to make their lives count by saving the lives of the unborn. In this episode of The 40 Days For Life Podcast you will hear many stories of how people as young as middle school and high school students are making a difference, saving lives, and influencing entire communities to the point that abortion clinics are shutting their doors. This episode is packed with inspiring stories, so be sure you listen. A 40 Days For Life Campaign Led By An 18-Year-Old At times it can be hard to find willing volunteers who will stand up to the abuse and persecution that may come from organizing and leading a 40 Day For Life campaign in a local community. That’s what makes one example on today's podcast so extraordinary. An 18- year old, not even old enough to drive has taken up the mantle of leadership in Memphis, TN, leading that community’s 40 Days For Life campaign with incredible effectiveness. Listen to hear how this one teen led a group of amazing volunteers in an effort that successfully shut down the local Planned Parenthood clinic through consistent, loving, peaceful demonstration outside its doors. The Pro-life Generation Is Ready To Do Hard Things - And Is Making A Difference Many of the members of this self-proclaimed “pro-life generation” have cited a book, “Do Hard Things” as one of the reasons they’ve decided to step into the battle to save unborn lives. They realized something that is true for all of us - we MUST step into the gap to speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves. It will require difficulty and strain. It will require us to get out of our comfort zones. But the fulfillment that comes from saving lives is one of the most rewarding things any human being can experience. Listen to this episode to learn how teens and college students are making an incredible difference in the lives of expectant mothers and their unborn children. A Pro-Life Teen Whose Mother Was Encouraged To Abort Her Now and then we get to hear stories that amaze and inspire all at the same time. On this episode, we hear of a woman who was told by her doctor that the child in her womb would surely die because her amniotic fluid was leaking. The recommended course of action: an abortion. But this brave pro-life mother told her doctor that as long as there was a heartbeat, there was still hope. Today, the baby she chose to carry is the 19-year old leader of her local 40 Days For Life campaign, a living reminder of the lives that are being saved by this crucial work. Learn how you can be a part of making a difference that is just as significant, on this episode. The Pro-Life Generation Is Making A Difference Worldwide Many countries across the globe have laws on the books that make abortion illegal. But that doesn’t mean unborn lives are safe in those countries. In Nigeria, abortion is rampant, especially among the teen population of that 3rd world country, even though it is illegal to perform an abortion. Teens and young adults in Nigeria are rising up, reaching out to their peers and pointing them toward a better way. Listen to this episode to learn how teens in Nigeria are joining the 40 Days For Life cause to save the lives of unborn children in their mother country. This episode’s guest is the Fat-Burning Man James Abel. “… A few years ago, I made some alarming discoveries. Almost everything I knew about health, nutrition, and fitness was completely wrong. I stopped listening to the “experts,” “gurus”; even my doctors. I buried my nose in the research and experimented on myself like a lab rat until I found the truth. I dramatically improved my health – reversing hypertension, healing my malfunctioning thyroid, and effortlessly shedding 20 pounds in 40 days. BREAKING NEWS-- AB2109, an alpha numerical confluence charged with controversy — a controversy that we have been following here on Spinal Column Radio. This is a bill that is traversing its way through the various hoops of the California Legislature — a bill that slaps the face of parents' right to make a medical decision on behalf of their child. If enacted into law, parents wishing to opt their children out of the state’s mandatory vaccination schedule for public and private school attendance — which current law allows them to do — will now have to have a conversation with a medical doctor about the pro’s and con’s of such a decision... and then must obtain that doctor’s cosignature should they still wish to decline the procedure. ChiropracTOR and Life College of Chiropractic West philosophy instructor Dr. Eric McKillican joins us on Spinal Column Radio to fill us in on the details that went on behind the doors of the June 27, 2012, California Senate Health Care Committee hearing on the bill. As one of two chiropractors in attendance, he tells us what happened and why actor-commedian, Rob Schneider, was there.
