POVTALK // HALIME OGUZ - Tidligere folketingsmedlem for SF, Halime Oguz, er en værdikriger i ordets egentlige betydning. Den odenseanske 52-årige kvinde, mor, mormor og cand.mag. i mellemøststudier har baggrund i en tyrkisk/kurdisk familie i Vollsmose og har fra barndommen kæmpet mod social kontrol og for retten til at leve som et fri menneske og kvinde. Og det har kostet dyrt! I en POV-talk med journalist og taxichauffør Jesper Grunwald udbygger hun fortællingen om sit livs dilemmaer mellem kulturkritik af indvandrermiljøernes sociale undertrykkelse og socialismens fokus på økonomi. Det kan ikke være en tilfældighed, at det vragede SF-folketingsmedlem, Halime Oguz, fik den såkaldte Ebba Strange-pris på partiets nylige kongres. Der er er en lige linje mellem den oprindelige kommunist Ebba Strange, der forlod drømmen om proletariatets diktatur og var med til at starte SF i 1959 i arbejdet for demokratisk socialisme. Om man kan lide Halime Oguz politiske linje eller ej – hun er og har været en frihedskæmper gennem hele livet. Ikke skolet ved den humanistiske middelstands hyggelige kaffeborde – men vokset om som datter af en kurdisk metalarbejder og hans kone i Odense-forstaden Vollsmose, der med årene fik den ubehagelige etikette: GHETTO (Nu mere forsigtigt, officielt kaldet "parallelsamfund"). Vollsmose er bl.a. berygtet for udpræget social kontrol og ekstreme islamistiske grupperinger. Halime Oguz blev presset ind i et arrangeret, kærlighedsløst ægteskab af ikke mindst sin mor allerede, da datteren var 18. Hun fik to børn, og mistede ved en trafikulykke, det ene, sin søn. Og herefter kunne Halime Oguz så ellers se frem til en tilværelse, hvor manden er den udadvendte kontrollant og kvinden som den tjenende og sekundære i baggrunden. Det lå aldrig i Halimes natur at finde sig i den sociale kontrol og undertrykkelse af kvinder. Hendes frihedstrang måtte forløses og kampene tages. Hun gennemførte med solid modstand fra sin daværende mand en videre skolegang og en akademisk uddannelse som cand.mag. Og efter sønnens død kom hun af sit undertrykkende ægteskab. Man kan læse historien i Halime Oguz bog og biografi Enepige, der udkom sidste år. Og den dansk kurdiske kvindesags- og frihedskæmper gik ind i politik for Socialistisk Folkeparti i 2019. Men allerede inden var hun en kontroversiel figur i politik, da hun uden omsvøb gik i kamp mod negativ social kontrol i indvandrermiljøerne. 2013 fik hun ros af selveste Pia Kjærsgaard i medierne - og det blev noteret på venstrefløjen. Også i SF's venstrefløj, selv om Oguz altid har haft de prominente SF'eres støtte – fra folk som Villy Søvndal, hendes odenseanske byfælle Karsten Hønge – og ikke mindst den nuværende partiformand Pia Olsen Dyhr. En stærk profil på partiets klassiske venstrefløj, tidligere folketingsmedlem og europaparlamentsmedlem Pernille Frahm, tog straks til orde i venstrefløjstidsskiftet Solidaritet med kritikken og overskriften: ”…Kriminalitet og kvindeundertrykkelse er et spørgsmål om politik, ikke kultur…” Oven i denne kritik fra ”vennerne” kan man jævnligt i diverse debatter og tråde på de sociale medier opleve højrefløjens begejstring og skadefryd over Halime Oguz 's kampe i egne, røde rækker. Efter devisen: Endelig en venstreorienteret, der indrømmer, at det ikke går med alle de fremmede og deres religion Halime Oguz står uden arbejde i dag efter at hun ikke blev genvalgt ved folketingsvalget sidste år. Men udover at være mormor og være noget for den syge mor, der i sin tid irettesatte sin datter, da Halime kom i tvivl om det arrangerede ægteskab – med ordene: ”I skal giftes – du har jo allerede holdt ham i hånden” - forsætter hun kampen for frisættelsen af kvinder og mænd i de konservative og reaktionære indvandrermiljøer. S., Seker, U. O. S. Abstract: Peptide therapeutics are robust and promising molecules for treating diverse disease conditions. These molecules can be developed from naturally occurring or mimicking native peptides, through rational design and peptide libraries. We developed a new platform for the rapid screening of the peptide therapeutics for disease targets. In the course of the study, we aimed to employ our platform to screen a new generation of peptide therapeutics candidates against aggregation prone protein targets. Two peptide drug candidates for the protein aggregation prone diseases namely Parkinson s and Alzheimer s diseases were screened. Currently, there are several therapeutic applications that are only effective in masking or slowing down symptom development. Nonetheless, different approaches are developed for inhibiting amyloid aggregation in the secondary nucleation phase, which is critical for amyloid fibril formation. Instead of targeting secondary nucleated protein structures, we tried to inhibit monomeric amyloid units as a novel approach for halting disease-condition. To achieve this, we combined yeast surface display and phage display library platforms. We expressed alpha-synuclein, amyloid beta 40 and amyloid beta 42 on yeast surface, and we selected peptides by using phage display library. After iterative biopanning cycles optimized for yeast cells, several peptides were selected for interaction studies. All of the peptides have been used in vitro characterization methods which are QCM-D measurement, AFM imaging, and ThT assay, and they have yielded promising results in order to block fibrillization or interact with amyloid units as a sensor molecule candidate. Therefore, peptides are good choice for diverse disease-prone molecule inhibition particularly those inhibiting fibrillization. Additionally, these selected peptides can be used as drugs and sensors to detect disease quickly and halt disease progression. Copy rights belong to original authors. The Great Product Owner: The Power of Partnership between PO and SM in support of the Agile Team In this segment, we discuss the need to focus on, and develop a great partnership between a Product Owner (PO) and Scrum Master (SM). Oz shares the example of such a partnership, where the conversation between PO and SM focused on the value that the team can deliver. The PO was new to Agile but had an open mind and was an expert in the product domain. The PO was a natural leader and encouraged the team to pull stories from the backlog. He also asked the team to bring their perspective into the prioritization of the backlog. The PO acknowledged the team at every opportunity and brought an appreciation culture into the team. Oz highlights the importance of having a great partnership between the PO and SM, which is the main requirement for a successful Agile team. The Bad Product Owner: The Importance of Empathy in Product Owner-Scrum Master Relationships In this segment, Oz discusses the challenges of working with a product owner who lacks a product mindset and is more focused on tasks than the product vision. This can lead to them "making up" work and not prioritizing tasks effectively. Oz suggested a few tips for dealing with bad POs. First, he recommended asking about prioritization and trying to understand the PO's background. He also advised having a 1-on-1 coaching session with the PO to help them develop a better understanding of their role and how to prioritize tasks effectively. Additionally, Oz emphasized the importance of focusing on empathy between the PO and the team. By fostering a positive relationship and working collaboratively, the PO and team can work together to ensure that the product is delivered effectively and meets the needs of stakeholders. Overall, Oz's advice for dealing with this type of POs is to approach the situation with understanding and empathy, while also providing coaching and support to help the PO develop a product mindset and prioritize tasks effectively. Lorenzo Papini : My story has started around one year and and half ago. I've always loved digging into Techno and (a bit later) Industrial Techno and I've dedicated most of my recent life on looking and listening to a lot of new music every day just as pure passion. This, alongside the various techno and (more recently) industrial techno scene in London, also helped me to build my own prospective of Industrial Techno. So at some point, also thanks to some friends who pushed me in this direction and taught me how to DJ, I felt the need to start and share with people my own idea of music. Virtual Underground : Where do you draw your inspiration from ? Lorenzo Papini : I mainly draw my inspiration from the Industrial Techno scene itself and among my favourite DJs/Producers I can surely name Axel Picodot, Paramod and OGUZ even tho it's very difficult to make a narrow selection of artists at the moment. I also follow with big interest Gabber and Hardtechno waves. Virtual Underground :Could you describe your music selection and mixing process ? Lorenzo Papini : I see my vision of Industrial Techno as a journey through the darkest and fastest side of 4/4 techno with acid, acidcore, gabber, hardtechno and hardcore influences and my music selection has based on this idea. When I record a podcast I see it as an escalation from Techno to Hardcore with a lot of different influences in between and doing so I try to offer a 360 degree vision of my sound. Virtual Underground :Which software/hardware did you use for this set ? Lorenzo Papini : I used an Allen & Heat Xone 92 mixer, an Allen & Heath Xone K2 MIDI controller and a MacBook Pro to run Traktor Pro 3.0. Virtual Underground : What are your next plans ? Lorenzo Papini : My next most important plan is surely contributing to the scene with my first releases and regarding it I have a 3 tracks EP ready to go out on January. I'm already working on new projects and my goal would be to release 8/10 tracks by the end of 2020. Looking ahead I also have other plans in mind but right now I feel all my focus need to be on producing even tho I won't stop releasing podcast as it's something I really love to do!
