What does it mean to say trail running is for everyone — when not everyone feels safe at the start line?In this deeply honest and urgent conversation, Corrine sits down with trail runner and immigration attorney Carolina Rubio-MacWright to talk about what's happening right now in immigrant communities — and why our sport cannot pretend it's separate from the political reality of the world we live in.Carolina shares what it's like carrying her residency card on runs, fielding messages from athletes asking whether it's safe to race, and helping race directors develop emergency plans for potential ICE raids. She speaks candidly about what meaningful action actually looks like — from buddy systems and mutual aid to card-writing campaigns for detained families. This episode is not abstract. It's about real runners. Real families. Real fear. And real responsibility. As Carolina reminds us, silence benefits the status quo. Action builds community.Feisty Strong Retreat in Atlanta - April 17-19, 2026: https://feisty.co/events/feisty-strong-retreat-atlanta/@feisty_media@trail.society

Eli Hemming: From Olympic Triathlon to Trail Ultras, UTMB Goals, and the Joshua Tree TraverseRyan Maguire sits down with Eli Hemming, former elite professional triathlete turned trail runner, for a wide-ranging conversation about reinvention, endurance, and what drives an athlete when the Olympic dream doesn't pan out the way you planned.Eli grew up in triathlon literally from birth. His mom was a triathlete and swim coach, and he was racing by age seven. What started as something social and skill-based eventually evolved into elite draft-legal Olympic-distance racing on the international circuit. He came within reach of the Tokyo Olympics before a broken foot derailed his qualification, and when he looked ahead at another four-year grind toward Paris, with all the travel and time away from family it would require, he decided it wasn't worth it.What came next surprised even him. A race in Buena Vista, Colorado cracked open a new world, and trail running took hold fast. He found a coach in David Roche, started stacking results, and eventually ended up toeing the line against Roche himself at the Broken Arrow Skyrace, a moment that captures just how quickly his trajectory shifted.Ryan and Eli also get into his relationship with his wife Tabor, their shared Adidas sponsorship, and a Joshua Tree traverse FKT attempt the two are chasing together. They dig into what makes Joshua Tree such a singular and strange place to run, and why the project matters to both of them personally. On the racing front, Eli's 2026 calendar includes Black Canyon 100K and a return to Desert Rats 100K, where Ryan first spotted him, to earn his way into UTMB week races. UTMB itself is the long-term goal, even though he's only raced up to 100K so far. His best trail performance to date? OCC during UTMB week in Chamonix, and he lights up talking about the atmosphere there. The conversation also gets honest about the harder parts of moving up in distance, overheating issues, a fried hypothalamus affecting heat regulation, fueling and hydration mistakes, and how his training philosophy is evolving around high volume without necessarily high mileage, muscular endurance work, and staying adaptable.
Canale Telegram: https://t.me/da0a42Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/da0a42/Profilo Strava: https://www.strava.com/athletes/37970087Club Strava: https://www.strava.com/clubs/da0a42Sito: https://da0a42.home.blogOppure contattami!https://da0a42.home.blog/contatti/I miei microfoni:- HyperX Quadcast: https://amzn.to/3bs06wC- Rode NT-USB: https://amzn.to/4cTfaAu----------------------Un grazie a tutti i miei sostenitori:Matteo Bombelli, Antonio Palma, George Caldarescu, Dorothea Cuccini, Alessandro Rizzo, Calogero Augusta, Mauro Del Quondam, Claudio Pittarello, Luca Felicetti, Andrea Borsetto, Massimo Ferretti, Andrea Pompini, Joseph Djeke, Luca Demartino, Laura Bernacca, Vincenzo Iannotta, Patty Bellia, Pasquale Castrilli, Laura Ravani, Xavier Fallico, Nicola Monachello, Gabriele Orazi, Matilde Bisighini, Carmine Cuccuru, Letizia Beoni, Giulia Rosaia, Marco Allaria, Gregorio Maggiani, Fabrizio Carbonara.----------------------Music credits: Feeling of Sunlight by Danosongs - https://danosongs.comDiventa un supporter di questo podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/da-0-a-42-il-mio-podcast-sul-running--4063195/support.
Today's guest is in the midst of an extraordinary adventure: the Run Around Great Britain challenge, a human‑powered loop of the entire coastline. It's part endurance feat and part love letter to the country. We catch up with Megan Boxall 117 days into her journey. She talks us through the mishaps, the coastlines, the kindness of strangers, and the moments that make big adventures feel deeply human. She's well over halfway now, but still so much to explore.Pic Credit - Ross Taylorhttps://www.justgiving.com/page/megan-boxall-run-britain?newPage=trueThanks to Precision Fuel & Hydration for supporting our February competition.

Send a text#369 - For us runners, it's a constant battle between our logical brain and our emotions. Sometimes we need logic and in other times we need our emotions. There are times when one or the other will hurt or help us. Today, I help to break it down so that we can tell the difference. By identifying the differences before we start our runs, it can help a lot, because if the latter stages of a long run or race, we may not have the mental energy to do it. In this episode, we sit down with HOKA athlete Gemma Hillier‑Moses, fresh off her dominant win at the 2026 Arc of Attrition 50 by UTMB, a performance built on speed, strength, and grit across those wild, muddy coastal trails.Gemma's energy is infectious! This conversation is full of honesty, humour, and proper inspiration as she opens up about the highs and lows of her journey so far, what she's learned along the way, and what's brewing for the rest of 2026 and beyond. Thanks to Precision Fuel & Hydration for supporting our February competition. What a crammed week it's been! The National Running Show was an absolute blast, and it was brilliant meeting so many listeners in person. Huge kudos to the Altra 13 Valleys team for pulling it all together.Meanwhile, Gary had his own bit of drama to deal with as he toed the line at the Hardmoors Saltburn Trails Marathon. Could he outrun his 2014 self, and did he manage to bag that V50 win?Our coaches are on hand with some much‑needed footwear wisdom, and we share our top tip for taking on a big scary goal without letting it swallow you whole. And of course, another sensational week over on Strava, and as always, we're celebrating your tales from the trails. Thanks to Precision Fuel & Hydration for supporting our February competition.

Welcome to Episode 127 of the Trail Running Ireland Podcast. It´s Trail Running Ireland awards time and on this weeks show we chat to Seanie Clifford who has just been up and down the country delivering awards to this year´s winners. Tune in to find out who won what!Everyone, get your running gear on, lets go.
Jade Barrett has just pulled off something no one else has ever managed, completing the entire Centurion Running calendar in a single year. Every. Single. Event. And because that apparently wasn't quite enough, she also squeezed in the Arc of Attrition for good measure! In our chat, we dive into the highs, the lows, the moments that nearly broke her, and the ones that reminded her exactly why she does this. And with her 2026 already looking absolutely packed, you'll be seeing her on the start lines of both the Northern Traverse and the Lakeland 100.Thanks to Fenix Light UK, Voom & Altra 13 Valleys for supporting our January competitions. When we think about environmental impacts in the outdoors, we often focus on things we can see: litter left behind, eroded trails, overcrowded trailheads. But some of the most significant impacts are invisible, and they're showing up in places many of us consider pristine. In episode 208 of the Outdoor Minimalist podcast, we're talking about microplastics in remote wilderness areas and what new research is revealing about how they get there. Joining me today is Dr. Tim Keyes.Prior to joining Welch College of Business & Technology in 2019, Dr. Keyes was employed by General Electric as a Senior Risk Analytics Manager for 22 years, and for seven years prior to that he worked as a Senior Systems Engineer at Measurex/Honeywell. He has summited all of the high peaks in the Adirondack and Catskill Mountains in New York, the Green Mountains in Vermont, and half, to date, of the high peaks in New Hampshire's White Mountains.Professionally, Dr. Keyes has published more than ten professional papers and holds seventeen patents related to risk analytics. His most recent refereed research was published in 2023 in the peer-reviewed Elsevier journal Heliyon. What happens when a once-fringe sport starts to go mainstream — and can it grow without losing its soul? In this episode of Trail Runner Nation, we sit down with Jamil Coury, founder and CEO of Aravaipa Running and publisher of UltraRunning Magazine, to explore the State of Trail and Ultrarunning in 2026. Jamil shares a 30,000-foot view of how the sport has evolved over the past decade, from participation and media coverage to rising expectations around professionalism and athlete experience. We discuss the emergence of 200+ mile races, the power of livestreaming and storytelling, and how technology is changing how runners train, race, and engage with the sport. The conversation also tackles cost, accessibility, and the growing presence of corporate influence, alongside the responsibility of race directors as stewards of ultrarunning's culture. Throughout it all, Jamil reminds us why the sport still works — community, shared suffering, and a deep respect between elites and back-of-the-pack runners alike.
