To be the greatest of all time at anything requires hard work, dedication, and usually a little bit of luck. But keep in mind, not every GOAT is sports related.  Technically, there is a greatest TV watcher of all time… But the subject of today's show is no couch potato.  He's been on the cover of magazines, cereal boxes, and posters hanging on the wall of most guys who grew up in the 90's – the one and only, his Airness, Michael Jordan.  Jordan changed the landscape of the NBA once he got in the league.  Winning world championships, slam dunk contests, and generally making the competition look like amateurs when he was in his prime.  But the stories that have come to light over the years don't paint a picture of Jordan being the best teammate.  He defended his position in the recent documentary, The Last Dance, but did we hear all the stories?  What could MJ have done to land him in the courtroom today?  Come fly with me as we roll through the Michael Jordan episode of AHC Podcast.       Intro music credits: Title: Finally The Sun - Audio Hertz / Crossfit 2021 (No Copyright Music) Video Link: https://youtu.be/bdf82dDHn_4 Genre Music: Trap - Gym - Workout - Sport - Exercise at Home - Gaming     Citations: Dougherty, J. Hey, it's Adam here. A quick podcast update for you as we near the end of 2021.[Support: Buy Adam a coffee | Amazon: USA / Australia | Audible | Booktopia | PayPal]It's official. My recent conversation with the great Jerry Colangelo was episode number 200 overall. It was the 127th edition of 'In all Airness'. The remaining episodes are a combination of detailed season-recaps, short-form stories and a few podcast updates. My great mate Aaron Stehn has featured regularly throughout the history of the show. We released a 30-episode series called #NB85 (devoted to Michael Jordan's rookie season). Our #NB86 series (you guessed it, chronicling the 1986 NBA seaon) is comprised of 15 episodes and #NB87 is a 13-episode run detailing the 1987 season. We're currently five episodes into #NB88 and hope to resume the series early next year. Shout-out to another great friend, Todd Spehr, for his support over the years, too.I created this show in 2012 because I couldn't find a podcast that offered what I wanted to hear as a diehard fan of old-school basketball. Looking back on the extensive episode list, I'm very proud of my podcast. There's been an incredible array of guests on the show - Hall of Famers, All-Stars, role players, journeymen and those who have made significant contributions to the history of the game, from off the court, too. I've also made some  fantastic friendships and acquaintances over the years.Recent updates to my website now allow fans of the show to support the podcast monetarily. Completely optional, of course. There are numerous costs involved to produce this show and with the recent rise of crowd-funded podcasts, I've finally jumped on board. You can 'Buy Me a Coffee' (more so a donation similar to the price of a cup of coffee). You can make one-off PayPal donations - if you'd prefer to make recurring payments, please contact me and that can be arranged. The Last Dance Extended Version. Buon ascolto! The homies kick things off in nerd like fashion, by geeking out over a series of debates/dialogues now available on YouTube between two very learned Doctors: Jordan Peterson and Sam Harris. It's incredibly fascinating (and often difficult) to hear two powerful minds in different fields (psychology and neuroscience) discuss and explore their philosophies within religion and society to a live audience. Much can be learned by practicing civil and open conversations in our own lives, even with folks we don't always see eye to eye with. Anyway! Kyle then speaks about a few potential sponsors/friends of The Homespun Yak in the coming weeks and Nic breaks down one origin story of 420, which is deeply seeded (get it) in US History. Based on this story, the guys then pivot to deeper and potentially more sinister conspiracy theories of the Counterculture era in America. Operation MKUltra, Charles Manson, JFK and Jeffrey Epstein are all brought up in a hushed voice with wide eyes and quick swivels of the head. Seriously though, however you may or may not celebrate 420, be safe out there and be sure to check out the new ESPN documentary about Michael Jordan called 'The Last Dance'. Evidently he was a successful professional athlete in the National Basketball Association throughout the 1980s and 1990s. Not much else is known about the man, but this film should help to shed some fascinating light on his life! IG: @homespunyak

Anthony and Alex Talk Stuff is back this week to talk about some more NBA Finals! Game 5 is one of the best Finals games of this decade, Kevin Durant’s injury, the impact on NBA Free Agency and how successful the one and done model has been with Kawhi Leonard. Press Play and Come Join Us!   Game 5 Excellence Is Mired In Tragedy The Golden State Warriors and the Toronto Raptors were firing on all cylinders to start Game 5 ( 1:50 ). Durant was back and doing Durant things, the spacing was back, the Splash Brothers were confident and everything was going in for the Warriors early. But the Raptors still were only down 6 by the end of the best played quarter of basketball in this NBA Finals. The thought was “Oh, it’s on!” until after 3 minutes into the second quarter, KD collapsed to the hardwood in pain. The replay showed, what we all feared, that the calf injury that had kept him out of the lineup for a month, was further exacerbated and Durant had torn his Achilles.   A gruesome injury that few players have had but that has changed the course of their entire career. We don’t know what the future holds for Kevin Durant now or on what team he’ll be cheering for next year. We only know what this injury has changed the course of the NBA and will be looked back upon as a landmark ‘What If’ a decade from now.   But alas, the game continued, with the Warriors struggling to hang on to the lead until Kawhi Leonard’s superhuman effort in the fourth quarter put the Raptors up 6 with around 3 minutes left to play. Kawhi’s twelve straight points looked to be a dagger in the heart of Dub Nation, drawing comparisons to his Airness himself. The champs showed their heart and their mental toughness by responding with 3 straight three-pointers from none other than Steph Curry and Klay Thompson to snatch a victory and the title away from Toronto. Now we are on to Game 6 and possibly Game 7 but even after that amazing game, the story comes back to KD and what happens next?   The Injury That Changed The Entire NBA In A Second So KD is hurt…..now what?? Durant’s journey these last 3 years as a member of the Warriors has been a really crazy rollercoaster when you think about it ( 11:55 ). The highs of winning titles and Finals MVPs but the lack of social acceptance and basketball immortality has left a bad taste in his mouth and we were ready to move on and leave on top. The perfect movie ending of 3 titles in 3 years with 3 NBA Finals MVPs is no longer in play as Durant must make a decision to move to a new city, a new life as a highly paid cheerleader or stay at home with the world he knows. It will definitely be an interesting summer for free agents but this injury just threw the whole damn league for a loop.   Everything seemed preordained and things were rounding into shape as June 30th draws near but now the world is upside down. Now some parts will stay the same like Kyrie Irving going to the Brooklyn Nets, Kawhi on the move ( 24:00 ) and potentially even Kevin Durant going to the New York Knicks but what really changes is the Anthony Davis sweepstakes.   Paul George, Kawhi Leonard…...Anthony Davis Next? The new, up and coming trend just may be the One-And-Done model. The idea to get a superstar in the final year of their contract and convince them to stay just might find its foothold in the league and Anthony Davis may be next ( 26:45 ). Now the most likely scenario is that the Lakers or Celtics find a way to trade for the young superstar but could a third, unsuspecting team get thrown into the mix? The race to get Anthony Davis this offseason, despite the Pelicans demands, is the hot topic of the league. The whole matter could be over by this weekend but who is in the running? Will the Lakers throw everything they have in, could the Celtics disregard Davis’ wishes or will a multiple team trade be the way to go?   With the success of Kawhi’s run in Toronto, teams can only hope to replicate their success with potential free agents in the future ( 32:54 ). On today's episode we feature two conversations: First is a discussion with Jill Vialet, founder and CEO of Playworks, who opened Chautauqua's week of lectures on "The Art of Play" on July 9. Then, Chautauqua Theater Company Artistic Director Andrew Borba sits with playwright Chelsea Marcantel and champion air guitarist Matt "Airistotle" Burns. Chelsea's newest play, Airness, is about air guitar competitions — CTC's production of Airness runs July 14 to 29 on the Bratton Theater stage. Jill Vialet is founder and CEO of Playworks, a nonprofit that operates on a belief “in the power of play to bring out the best in every kid.” From its beginnings in two schools in Berkeley, California, Playworks has grown to a staff of 700 and now reaches about 900,000 students in 23 regions around the United States, and is present within 1,800 schools and organizations. During the 2015–16 school year, Jill was an Education Fellow at Stanford’s d.school — very familiar to us at Chautauqua — where she launched a new project called Substantial, re-designing the way we recruit, train, and support substitute teachers. Prior to Playworks, Jill founded, and was the executive director for nine years, of the Museum of Children’s Art (MOCHA) in Oakland, California. Follow her on Twitter at @jillvialet, and read The Chautauquan Daily's recap of her Amphitheater lecture here: http://chqdaily.com…. Chelsea Marcantel is the playwright behind Airness, and also Everything is Wonderful, Ladyish, Devour and Tiny Houses, which CTC produced as part of its New Play Workshop in 2016. Airness was recently honored with the 2018 Elizabeth Osborn New Play Award by the American Theatre Critics Association. Matt Burns is a special guest at Chautauqua this week — he is a waiter and world-class competitive air guitarist living in New York City. Matt decided to try air-rocking almost a decade ago when he saw the documentary Air Guitar Nation, and has since become a two-time champion at Air Guitar World Championship. Follow them on Twitter at @AChelseaDay and @aYo_MattBurns. CTC produces Airness from July 14 to 29 in Bratton Theater — click here to purchase tickets.

He’s been in Louisville as part of the cast of "Airness," a play about air guitar at Actors Theatre of Louisville. Burns played the announcer for the various air guitar competitions that were depicted onstage, and then at the end of the show, he gave a special surprise performance that had the audience on their feet.
