The practical implications of this “diplomatic wave” are yet to be seen, but the Israeli Government is taking the move seriously, as many interpret Palestinian recognition as a reward for Hamas' terrorism. The Metaphysics of Race seeks to reframe debates on the conflicting scientific and spiritual traditions that underpinned the Nazi worldview, showing how despite the multitude of tensions and rivals among its adherents, it provided a coherent conceptual grid and possessed its own philosophical consistency. Drawing on a large variety of works, the volume offers insights into the intellectual climate that allowed the radical ideology of National Socialism to take hold. It examines the emergence of nuanced conceptions of race in interwar Germany and the pursuit of a new ethical and existential fulcrum in biology. Accordingly, the volume calls for a re-examination of the place of genetics in Nazi racial thought, drawing attention to the multi-register voices within the framework of interwar racial theory. Varshizky explores the ways in which these ideas provided new justifications for the Nazi revolutionary enterprise and blurred the distinction between fact and value, knowledge and faith, the secular and the sacred, and how they allowed Nazi thinkers to bounce across these epistemological divisions. This volume will be of interest to scholars of Nazi Germany and World War II, intellectual and cultural history, the history of science, and the philosophy of religion. Amit Varshizky is an Israeli-born, Berlin-based historian, novelist, and essayist. He holds a PhD from the School of Historical Studies at Tel Aviv University and has lectured at academic institutions in both Israel and Germany. His research focuses on the history of racism and antisemitism in modern Europe, the intellectual and cultural history of Nazism, German Romanticism, the philosophy of science, and theories of religion, myth, and secularism. His articles and reviews on these subjects have appeared in leading peer-reviewed journals. His book The Metaphysics of Race: Science and Faith in the Nazi Worldview (Open University of Israel and Yad Vashem, 2021) was awarded the Goldberg Prize of the Open University of Israel for Best Research Book (2019) and the Bartal Am VeOlam Prize of the Israel Historical Society for Outstanding Book of the Year (2022). On Tuesday, the Israeli Airforce carried out strikes on a building in Doha, Qatar, where Hamas's top leaders were believed to be gathered to discuss the recent American Gaza ceasefire proposal. As of now, it seems unlikely that Israel managed to eliminate its targets. Qatar called the attack a “violation of all laws and norms.” […]
Here's the thing. Most enterprise AI pitches talk about scale and speed. Fewer talk about trust, tone, and culture. In this conversation with Inflection AI's Amit Manjhi and Shruti Prakash, I explore a different path for enterprise AI, one that combines emotional intelligence with analytical horsepower, enabling teams to ask more informed questions of their data and receive answers that are grounded in context. Amit's story sets the pace. He is a three-time founder, a YC alum, and a CS PhD who has solved complex problems across mobile, ad tech, and data. Shruti complements that arc with a product lens shaped by real operational trenches, from clean rooms to grocery retail analytics. Together, they built BoostKPI during the pandemic, transforming natural language into actionable insights, and then joined Inflection AI to help refocus the company on achieving enterprise outcomes. Their shared north star is simple to say yet tricky to execute. Make data analysis conversational, accurate, and emotionally aware so people actually use it. We unpack Inflection's shift from Pi's consumer roots to privacy-first enterprise tools. That history matters because it gives the team a head start on EQ. When you combine a deep well of human-to-AI conversations with modern LLMs, you get systems that explain, probe, and adapt rather than dump charts and call it a day. Shruti breaks down what dialogue with data looks like in practice. Think back-and-forth exchanges that move from "what happened" to "why it happened," then on to "where else this pattern appears" and "what to do next," all grounded in an organization's language and values. Amit takes us under the hood on deployment choices and ownership. If a customer wants on-prem or VPC, they get it. If they're going to fine-tune models to their vernacular, they can. The model, the insights, and the guardrails remain in the customer's control. I enjoyed the honesty around adoption. Chasing AGI makes headlines, but it rarely helps a merchandising manager spot an early drop in lifetime value or a CX lead understand churn risk before quarter end. The duo keeps the conversation grounded in everyday questions that drive numbers and reduce meetings. They describe a path where EQ and IQ come together to form what Shruti calls contextual intelligence, and where brands can trust AI agents to assist without losing ownership or voice. If you care about making data useful to more people, and you want AI that sounds like your company rather than a generic assistant, this one is for you. We cover startup lessons, the reality of cofounding as a couple during lockdowns, and how Inflection is working with large enterprises to bring conversational analysis to real workloads. It is a grounded look at where enterprise AI is heading, and a timely reminder that technology should elevate humans, not replace them. ********* Visit the Sponsor of Tech Talks Network: Land your first job in tech in 6 months as a Software QA Engineering Bootcamp with Careerist https://crst.co/OGCLA

As of now, it seems unlikely that Israel managed to eliminate its targets. Qatar called the attack a “violation of all laws and norms.” Other Arab states, including Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Jordan, and Turkey strongly condemned the attack as well. President Trump gave somewhat contradictory statements on the topic, expressing disapproval at Israel's decision while calling it an opportunity for peace.Joining us to discuss how the strike and its possible results impacts Israel's position in the Gaza war and the region, we were joined by Ark Media Contributors Nadav Eyal and Amit Segal and Call me Back Veteran Ronen Bergman.CREDITS:ILAN BENATAR - Producer & EditorADAAM JAMES LEVIN-AREDDY - Executive ProducerMARTIN HUERGO - Sound EditorMARIANGELES BURGOS - Additional EditingMAYA RACKOFF - Operations DirectorGABE SILVERSTEIN - ResearchYUVAL SEMO - Music Composer

A túlzott turizmusfüggőség növelheti a gazdaság sérülékenységét, ezért a magyar gazdaságnak érdemes további ágazatokkal párhuzamosan fejleszteni és diverzifikálni a gazdasági szerkezetét. Erről Horti Flórával, az MBH Elemzési Centrum szenior ágazati elemzőjével beszélgettünk. Szabó Tamás beszéde a 2025-ös Országos Önkéntes Találkozón
In this episode of the Epigenetics Podcast, we talked with Arnau Sebé-Pedrós from the Center for Genomic Regulation in Barcelona about his work on chromatin evolution. The Interview starts by examining specific research findings, including his seminal 2018 paper demonstrating whole-organism single-cell transcriptomics to map larval and adult cell types in the model organism Nematostella vectensis. Dr. Sebe-Pedros recounted the challenges and triumphs faced when delving into single-cell studies of non-model organisms, revealing the innovative strategies employed in the lab to overcome these hurdles. Shifting gears, we touched upon his work comparing cell types and molecular pathways in reef-building corals through single-cell RNA sequencing, contributing to our understanding of evolutionary conservation and divergence within the cnidarian lineage. We discussed how this comparative approach not only adds to knowledge about coral biology but also enhances methodological frameworks in ecological studies. In addition, Dr. Sebe-Pedros shared insights into ongoing efforts to reconstruct eukaryotic chromatin evolution using comparative proteomics and genomics analysis, as well as the mechanisms of genomic regulation in various species. His reflections on the sharing of experimental insights across research groups illustrated the collaborative spirit prevalent in the scientific community, particularly regarding endeavors like the Biodiversity Cell Atlas consortium aimed at expanding single-cell efforts across the tree of life. The episode culminated with Dr. Sebe-Pedros's thoughts on the revolutionary impact of functional genomic technologies and the vast potential they hold for answering longstanding questions in evolutionary biology. With an emphasis on epigenetics, he defined this field as encompassing any information not encoded directly in the DNA, especially in its role in establishing cell identity and differentiation. Today's guest is Amit Gupta, Chief Digital Officer, Life Sciences Manufacturing Industry, at Danaher. Amit returns to the program to share the operational playbook behind building enterprise-ready AI infrastructure. He outlines a four-part architecture that includes data aggregation, integration, transformation, and harnessing, walking listeners through how Danaher built a system that enables — not constrains — AI deployment. He also explores how tiered storage strategies address not just technical needs, but real-world challenges in compliance, cost control, and security.
