The UN climate summit in Brazil has closed with a commitment to triple adaptation funding for developing countries, but there was no explicit mention of the fossil fuels that drive climate change. A bitter row at COP30 saw oil-rich nations led by Saudi Arabia overcome more than 80 countries that wanted a deal advancing previous commitments to transition away from oil, coal, and gas. Also: President Trump says his plan to end the Russia-Ukraine war is "not his final offer" as Kyiv and its allies push back on proposals they see as too favourable to Moscow. On Friday's Mark Levin Show, communists like Zohran Mamdani are very charismatic and slick, as they lack anything else given their ideology's complete failure and genocidal nature. We must cut through superficialities when dealing with such figures. We will not embrace or help Mamdani – he's the enemy. Also, no, President Trump didn't call for the death of these six Democrat miscreants. These Senators and Congressman called for the military to undermine the Commander in Chief through an insurrection. They know Trump hasn't put out any illegal or unconstitutional orders. Later, Qatar is pumping tens of billions of dollars into American universities to help the Muslim Brotherhood weaken America and destroy democracy. It's stunning to the extent we are blind to what Qatar is doing. We ignore this at our own peril. Afterward, Israel, Netanyahu, and America haven't changed, but Steve Bannon has transformed into a bigoted figure, alongside Tucker Carlson and Candace Owens, who criticize Israel, Jews, and evangelical Christians while attempting to undermine MAGA through isolationist ideologies. Megyn Kelly needs to distance herself from the poisonous influence of these people. Finally, CAIR is suing Texas over Gov Greg Abbott's ‘terrorist' designation. Abbott should use this lawsuit to get to the bottom of CAIR's funding. He should counter claim or conduct discovery on all their contacts, emails, texts, etc. Learn more about your ad choices. The Washington Roundtable reflects on the first year since Donald Trump's second win before a live audience at Harvard University's Institute of Politics, on November 20th. The panel considers how cracks in the MAGA firmament may shape what's next for the President and the Republican party. “American politics the last ten years have been dominated by this very singular disruptive figure of Donald Trump,” the staff writer Susan B. Glasser. “So what we define as the new abnormal, for a whole generation of Americans is, in fact, the new normal.” This week's reading: “Dick Cheney's Long, Strange Goodbye,” by Susan B. There's a lot of tired discourse about whether or not a Democratic Socialist like Zohran Mamdani could win in places that aren't as blue as New York City. But what's not getting enough attention is that Mamdani and his campaign somehow cracked the code for producing online content with offline results: getting people off the couch to connect with strangers face to face over a shared political goal. How'd they do it? Maya Handa, Zohran's campaign manager, and Andrew Epstein, his communications director, sit down with Jon to talk about the decisions and content that built Mamdani's campaign from scratch, what they learned along the way, and the lessons other candidates and campaigns can take from what they achieved. For a closed-captioned version of this episode, click here. “What's the most cringeworthy topic to bring up at Thanksgiving dinner?” That's the question that sparks chaos in this laugh-out-loud episode of The Ben and Skin Show, featuring Ben Rogers, Jeff “Skin” Wade, Kevin “KT” Turner, and Krystina Ray.The crew kicks things off with a hilarious shout-out to BL Lieber—Dallas' number one waiter—complete with absurd suggestions like “pat him on the butt” and “give him a backwards hug with a little pump” (don't worry, they're joking… mostly). From there, it's time for the Thanksgiving Family Feud, where the gang debates the most awkward topics at the holiday table. Politics? Sex? Horse herpes?! Yes, that came up—and it's one of the funniest moments of the episode. You'll also hear the team's takes on what people actually want to talk about during Thanksgiving (spoiler: food wins big), plus plenty of off-the-wall banter that makes this show a must-listen.

A large population of America is aging and there are not enough healthcare workers to take care of them. The worsening nurse shortage can be attributed to not only an aging workforce but overall burnout and an insufficient number of new nurses. More and more hospitals and organizations have put a focus on training up the next wave of healthcare workers, and are now meeting potential employees where they are - in high school classrooms. FOX's Tonya J. Powers speaks with Barb Clapp, CEO of Dwyer Workforce Development, a nonprofit that helps people get training in healthcare, who says by 2030 the shortage of nurses will dramatically effect all levels of healthcare. Progressive and centrist Democratic candidates had big wins in the 2025 elections. On this week's On the Media, a data scientist fact-checks the claim that Democrats need moderate voters to win. Plus, an Arizona state senator shares how she's reaching her constituents on TikTok and on the ground.[01:00] Host Brooke Gladstone sits down with G. Elliot Morris, a journalist, statistician, and author of the data-driven news website Strength in Numbers, to hash out what the data says about whether becoming more moderate is really the key to Democratic candidates winning more elections.[20:09] Brooke chats with Matt Bennett, co-founder of Third Way, a center-left think tank, about his view that Zohran Mamdani's win in New York City poses a “serious political problem” for the Democrats.[36:06] Finally, Brooke calls up Analise Ortiz, state senator for Arizona's 24th district, to discuss how TikTok, old-fashioned door-knocking, and making tangible differences in peoples' lives is the way for the Democrats to start winning again. Both major parties are experiencing a crisis of leadership in Washington. President Trump's flip-flopping on the Epstein files acknowledges that, on this issue, at least, he has lost control of MAGA. For the Democrats, the collapse of their consensus on the government shutdown deepens a sense that the current leadership is ineffective. For all the talk of unity, the Party is profoundly divided on what message to convey to voters. “Some people argue that we should just—no matter what Donald Trump does or says—just always come back to the economy and prices,” Senator Chris Van Hollen, of Maryland, tells David Remnick. “And, of course, we should be very focussed on the economy and prices and rising health-care costs, as we have been. But to suggest that we should look the other way in the face of all these other outrages is, I think, a mistake, because I think the American people are tiring of Donald Trump. I think the polls indicate that.” Van Hollen is trying to pave a path between his party's left and the establishment. He's used the word “spineless” to describe colleagues in Congress who refused to endorse Zohran Mamdani in his mayoral campaign, but he has not called for Chuck Schumer to step down from leadership, as others have. Van Hollen wants “to be very much part of the debate as to where the Democratic Party goes.” Would that extend, Remnick wonders, to running for President? “My goal at this moment really is to stiffen the spine of the Democratic Party. But that means not just resistance to Trump. It also means taking on very powerful special interests that I think have had too much sway in both the Republican Party for sure, but also in the Democratic Party.” Remnick replies, “I've heard firmer nos in my time.” New episodes of The New Yorker Radio Hour drop every Tuesday and Friday. During the vindictive prosecution court hearing in the James Comey case, the judge told Lindsey Halligan (who had yet to speak in any court proceeding) to approach the podium. He then insisted she explain what she did with the grand jury indictment. What became clear is that Halligan violated grand jury procedures, mistakes that are likely to invalidate the Comey indictment.Glenn provides a first-hand account from inside the Comey courtroom. This is a fully remastered episode, which originally came out in April 2022 In this episode of Guerrilla History, we bring on the fantastic Africana studies scholar, Professor Takiyah Harper-Shipman, to talk about West African women's development, Sankara, AFRICOM, and more! Due to time constraints, this episode will act as an introduction to these topics for our next conversation with Professor Harper-Shipman, which will take place soon and will be a longer, more in-depth discussion. We really enjoyed the conversation, and are already looking forward to diving into the minutiae with the Professor very soon! Takiyah Harper-Shipman is an Assistant Professor in the Africana Studies Department at Davidson College. Her courses include Africana political economy, gender and development in sub-Saharan Africa, African feminisms, international development: theory and praxis, and research methods in Africana Studies. Her book Rethinking Ownership of Development in Africa is available from Routledge: https://www.routledge.com/Rethinking-Ownership-of-Development-in-Africa/Harper-Shipman/p/book/9780367787813. We also highly recommend checking out her chapter La Santé Avant Tout: Health Before Everything in the excellent A Certain Amount of Madness The Life, Politics and Legacies of Thomas Sankara https://www.plutobooks.com/9780745337579/a-certain-amount-of-madness/. Meet my friends, Clay Travis and Buck Sexton! If you love Verdict, the Clay Travis and Buck Sexton Show might also be in your audio wheelhouse. Politics, news analysis, and some pop culture and comedy thrown in too. Here’s a sample episode recapping four takeaways. Give the guys a listen and then follow and subscribe wherever you get your podcasts. Mamdanism President Trump will meet New York City Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani at the White House, a high-profile sit-down that underscores deep ideological divides. Buck analyzes Mamdani’s progressive agenda, including proposals for rent freezes, free public buses, and universal childcare, arguing these policies mirror failed socialist experiments and will worsen housing scarcity in New York City. He explains how government intervention in markets—such as rent control—creates artificial constraints that drive up costs and reduce housing availability, citing economic principles from Hayek’s Road to Serfdom. Buck warns that Mamdani’s tax-hike plans targeting corporations and high earners will further destabilize the city’s economy. FL Gov. Ron DeSantis Buck welcomes FL Governor Ron DeSantis for an in-depth discussion on Florida’s bold proposal to eliminate property taxes on homesteaded properties. DeSantis explains the economic rationale: skyrocketing property valuations are squeezing young families, while local governments have ballooned budgets from $32 billion in 2019 to $56 billion today. He argues that cutting homestead property taxes would protect true homeownership, reduce market distortions, and leverage Florida’s unique tax base, which relies heavily on non-resident property owners. DeSantis outlines plans for a 2026 ballot initiative, addresses concerns about special interests, and contrasts Florida’s lean, results-driven governance with New York’s bloated spending under progressive leadership. The conversation also touches on New York City Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani’s agenda, warning that policies like rent freezes and anti-police measures will accelerate urban decline. WI Sen. Ron Johnson Wisconsin Senator Ron Johnson of Wisconsin, who discusses alarming revelations about the FBI’s handling of the Thomas Crooks assassination attempt on President Trump. Johnson suggests the Bureau may have withheld critical information about Crooks’ online activity, including radicalization indicators, and criticizes the lack of transparency despite bipartisan efforts to investigate. He confirms his committee is pursuing independent inquiries and warns that more details will surface. The conversation shifts to the Epstein Transparency Act, which passed Congress with near-unanimous support. Johnson explains why the Senate fast-tracked the measure and outlines concerns about protecting victims while ensuring public disclosure. He predicts the DOJ will release files within 30 days of Trump’s signature, though some material may remain withheld for legal reasons. Buck and Johnson agree this rare bipartisan moment reflects overwhelming public demand for accountability in the Epstein case. Johnson also tackles FBI abuses under “Operation Arctic Frost,” describing it as a partisan dragnet targeting Trump allies, Republican groups, and even ordinary citizens in Wisconsin. He calls for full exposure of communications between Biden officials and outside legal operatives, framing the probe as an attempt to criminalize lawful political activity. The senator further advocates ending the Senate filibuster, aligning with Trump’s position to secure election integrity, repair Obamacare’s failures, and advance conservative reforms. Bye, Bye, Dept. of Ed? Buck analyzes Karoline Leavitt’s fiery White House briefing, where she announced a major step toward dismantling the Department of Education. Leavitt detailed plans to redistribute its functions across other agencies, moving toward Trump’s campaign promise to return education control to states and eliminate federal overreach. Buck applauds the move, arguing the Department has long served as a progressive policy arm rather than an educational necessity. The show also previews Trump’s upcoming meeting with New York City Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani, which Levitt characterized as a stark contrast between Trump’s pragmatic leadership and Mamdani’s far-left agenda. Buck predicts fireworks from the meeting and critiques Mamdani’s socialist proposals, including rent freezes and free public transit, as disastrous for New York’s economy.
