We are not victims struggling to become victors. We are already victors, declared winners in Christ. The enemy's strategy is to deceive us into forgetting who we are.In Episode 7 of "The Good Fight," Duane Sheriff teaches why the Armor of God is essential for every believer who wants to stand firm against the enemy's schemes. Spiritual warfare is not fought through human strength, emotion, or self-effort. It is fought in the Lord's might with the spiritual weapons God has already provided.Through Paul's description of a Roman soldier's armor in Ephesians 6, we learn how God equips us with truth, righteousness, peace, faith, salvation, the Word of God, and prayer. Each piece prepares us to resist deception, remain established in faith, and stand confidently in the victory Christ has already secured. This battle is not against people, but against the spiritual forces that blind minds, distort truth, destroy lives, and keep people trapped in darkness. In Christ, we are blessed, seated with Him in heavenly places, and equipped with His name, authority, Spirit, and power.Discover what it means to put on the whole Armor of God and fight from a position of victory, not for victory.
You may not always be able to change the circumstances around you, but you can change the way you see them. Andrew shares the importance of viewing life through the lens of who you are in Christ, allowing God's supernatural power within you to bring transformation and hope in any situation.
This episode starts with a celebration of Dolly Parton's extraordinary generosity and cultural impact, then moves into a serious theological conversation about hypocrisy, leadership, and what makes a church spiritually healthy or toxic. Mike, Suzie, and Tim connect Jesus' warnings in Matthew 23 and Luke 12 to modern church culture, power, and the temptation to perform righteousness rather than live it.Why was Dolly Parton so universally loved, from the left to the right? Should Churches have a tax exempt status or does that malform the Church, structuring it like a business? Today's Bible Verse: "Jesus replied, 'They do not need to go away. You give them something to eat.'" — Matthew 14:16 What can the feeding of the 5,000 teach us about trusting God when our resources feel inadequate? Matthew 14:16 reveals that Jesus wasn't simply concerned with feeding a hungry crowd. He was teaching His disciples to trust Him when they couldn't see how a solution was possible. When faced with an overwhelming need and limited resources, Jesus told His disciples to step forward in faith. Want more encouragement throughout your week? SummaryA hundred buffalo stopped a jeep in Kruger Park and stared down one woman. What she heard was this: We have taught you well; do not forget us; teach the humans what you know. She went home and wrote the book. Clayton Cuteri sits down with Dr. Linda Bender, a veterinarian who spent fourteen years across England, Asia, Africa, and the Middle East rescuing and rehabilitating wildlife, much of it pulled out of the animal trafficking trade. Her book Animal Wisdom carries endorsements from Jane Goodall and Deepak Chopra. Linda makes the case that telepathy is not paranormal; it is normal, and that a few hundred years of science and church doctrine trained it out of us.She teaches the blue sky and clouds practice for quieting the mind, explains why going inward is a process of forgetting rather than doing, and shares the darkest moment of her career, walking into a clinic in Asia to find smuggled parrots dead on the floor, and exactly what brought her back from it.Then, without knowing Clayton wrote a book on the Gospel of Thomas, she quotes it. Heaven is not in the sky. Send us Fan MailThe years can vanish faster than we want to admit. A season of anger. A hidden addiction. A relationship we damaged with pride. A stretch of shame where we stopped believing God could still use us. Have you ever felt a sudden shift in your life, a call towards something deeper and more meaningful? If so, you're not alone. Many people experience a spiritual awakening that can be both exciting and overwhelming. In this episode, we'll explore the transformative journey of Katherine Bird, a shamanic, somatic, and energetic medicine practitioner, who shares her insights on navigating the complexities of spiritual growth and finding your true path. Katherine Bird's story begins with an unexpected mystical awakening in her twenties. She describes having profound visions and receiving messages that urged her to reevaluate her life. This awakening prompted her to embark on a journey of self-discovery, where she asked herself the fundamental question: "Who am I?" Episode Highlights 6:46 Building a business gradually She reflects on how businesses develop over time, without the pressure to monetize everything immediately. 7:45 Following the breadcrumbs The importance of following inner guidance and synchronicities. 13:26 Distinguishing "calling" from "shoulds" Katherine and Julie discuss how inner guidance often carries both expansion and fear. How to differentiate inner guidance from "shoulds" and fears, and why inner work is so important to your growth 14:34 Becoming comfortable with the unknown Spiritual growth involves leaning into uncertainty rather than avoiding it. Guidance for when you are standing on the edge and navigating uncertainty on your path 17:34 Trust is built through action Trust comes from moving forward and learning through the process, not from knowing everything in advance. 22:39 Building something you don't want to escape from Julie and Katherine discuss the importance of creating a business that supports your life instead of trapping you. Do you tend to be a fair-weather friend? Do you stay strong when times are good, but run away if things are difficult? Nothing will ruin a relationship more than that.Let's be honest here: There is someone in your life who needs your help and strength. Maybe you need to step it up in that area.Jesus is a perfect example of loyalty to others; by following His lead, we can learn what genuine loyalty looks like. John 14:6 says, “Jesus answered, ‘I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.'”Jesus stuck to you like glue when He experienced the most danger to Him personally. His death on the cross was frankly so much bigger than anything you're facing…we don't have an excuse to let down anyone in our life.Jesus held out His hand and told you that He would lead you home. Practicing that type of loyalty in our daily lives will serve as a remarkable example to those who need to see some loyalty.Let's pray. Lord, your love inspires us every day. Thank you most of all for what Jesus has done for us. In Jesus' name, amen. Change your shirt, and you can change the world! Spiritual warfare isn't about making demons bigger—it's about lifting Jesus higher. In “Unseating Principalities,” Pastor Landon Schott teaches how to recognize spiritual forces at work and respond biblically through prayer, obedience, and resistance. Jesus is seated far above every principality, power, and authority—and our victory begins when we come under His authority.

This week we're sharing something special that was previously only available on our Substack page: a chat between Jonathan and filmmaker, Mark Vicente, co-director of the 2004 film “What the Bleep Do We Know!?“, and the NXIVM whistleblower whose testimony helped put Keith Raniere in federal prison. Many teachers have real wisdom and profound opportunities to change. Many are resurfacing hidden ancient knowledge that the world truly needs. And some of the teachers are wolves in sheep's clothing who prey on those who believe there must be more to our often limited experience. If you saw The Vow on HBO, you know one half of Mark's story.Mark was born in South Africa. At nine years old, out in the bush, he heard Zulu drumming and was overcome with emotions in a way he couldn't explain. He wept — hit by a certainty that if everyone else could feel what he was feeling, the country he was born into would change. And the senseless injustice could be stopped.Years later, Mark's film, What the Bleep Do We Know, used the language of quantum physics to argue that the materialist worldview is incomplete. That consciousness participates in reality. That suffering is not only something to endure — it's something we have some say in. Then the wolves came. When What the Bleep was released, the NXIVM cult began profiling Mark. They read his interviews. They studied what he wanted more than anything — to communicate a spiritual truth that could change how people see the world. Then they built a recruitment around that specific longing. He was inside NXIVM for over a decade. His wife realized what was happening before Mark did. She handed him an article listing twenty things a narcissist does in a conversation. He read it, took a scheduled call with Keith Raniere, and ticked them off in his head as they happened live. When he hung up, he knew he would never speak to Raniere again.Mark's new film, The Narcissist's Playbook, is the map he wishes he'd had while under the control of a cult leader. It features self-identified narcissists explaining, on camera, what they do and why they enjoy doing it.Dr. Ramani Durvasula — who appears in the film — estimates roughly one in six adults meets criteria for narcissistic personality traits. Not all of them are dangerous. Some are, and the current consensus among clinicians who study the darkest end of the spectrum is the part spiritually oriented people find hardest to accept: Those brains do not change. Not with love. Not with patience. Not even with the right teacher. If you love someone who is inside a dangerous community and they can't see it, or if you're beginning to wonder whether you are, Mark shares this: The deepest trick of narcissistic abuse isn't the abuse itself. It's that you come to believe you are the cause of every problem.Upgrade your kitchen with Our Place today. Spiritual warfare is real—but so is spiritual deception. How do we recognize the enemy's strategies without becoming distracted by fear, speculation, or sensationalism? In this conversation, author Heather Otis-Tayloe joins me to discuss spiritual warfare, the deceptive tactics of the enemy, and why biblical discernment is essential for every Christian. We'll talk about how Satan works to deceive, how Christians can recognize spiritual counterfeits, and why knowing Scripture is one of our greatest defenses against deception. This conversation will challenge you to take spiritual warfare seriously while keeping your focus where it belongs: on the truth of God's Word and the victory we have in Christ. TBTP recently held an event on the Holy Spirit. Who is He? What is His role in salvation and the life of the Christian? What about the Spiritual gifts? It was a great conversation, but some of the recording was lost. SO...we thought we'd have a podcast to look at some unanswered questions and make sure our audience at least got the gist of our event. Thanks to Mace and Israel for dropping in the studio for this redux. Enjoy!

What does it mean to be clothed in the armor of light? The light of God's armor doesn't just expose the darkness - it expels it. In Episode 6 of "The Good Fight," Duane Sheriff teaches one of the most vivid and practical pictures of spiritual warfare found in Scripture from Romans 13. Spiritual warfare is not fought through human strength, anger, or carnal weapons. It begins by casting off the works of darkness, putting on the Lord Jesus Christ, and learning to walk after the Spirit rather than the flesh. Our good works, integrity, love, and telling the truth are not passive virtues - they are our spiritual weapons. They penetrate the darkness by exposing it and ultimately expel it. The parallel drawn between putting on Christ and putting on the armor of light reminds us that spiritual warfare is not primarily about confronting external enemies but about the daily choice to walk after the Spirit rather than the flesh. Discover why the true battlefield is for the souls of men and how the gospel turns people from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God. This is the good fight: standing firm in truth, walking in love, and letting the light of Jesus shine through our lives.

John Heers sits down with "Justin Smith" — an anonymous app designer you'll never see, only hear. His app, This Life, is audio-only and anonymous by design: you record your own voice, then get paired with a stranger for a day to hear three minutes of their life.In this episode John pushes back hard — is a phone app really the cure for the isolation it helped create? Is writing down your thoughts making us more ill, not less? And where does the whole thing come from — what's the "well" underneath it?They go deep on:→ Why Justin hides his face (and the Bill Wilson / AA logic behind it)→ The "force of unhelpful negative emotion" and how it plays us all→ Spiritual hitchhiking — the app's one-day anonymous pairing→ Whether an app can ever replace the in-person Supra table→ Christianity, Orthodoxy, and building something beautiful out of love for a fatherA fascinating, honest conversation about what we've lost in the modern world — and one man's attempt to build a piece of it back.Get the app
There is something almost frightening about the stories preserved for us in the Evergetinos. They are frightening not because they portray extraordinary wickedness, but because they reveal how quietly the heart can change. The monk described by Palladios is not a beginner. He is a man of profound silence and prayer, one who has surrendered himself so completely to God that even the necessities of his bodily life have been entrusted to Providence. His life has become contemplation. Prayer is his delight. God provides for him in a miraculous manner. He has tasted something of the life of the age to come. And yet the beginning of his fall is almost imperceptible. He sleeps a little longer. His prayer becomes somewhat shorter. His attention wanders. Earthly concerns begin to occupy a little more space within him. Thoughts once immediately rejected are permitted to remain for a moment. Nothing, at first, seems catastrophic. That is precisely the warning. The Fathers understood that the great falls of the spiritual life rarely begin as great falls. They begin with small permissions. Something formerly guarded carefully is treated casually. Something that once troubled the conscience is dismissed as insignificant. A thought is entertained rather than rejected. Prayer is postponed. Vigilance relaxes. A little comfort is allowed to become necessary. The heart whispers that such things hardly matter. But they matter because the heart matters. There is something extraordinarily precious hidden within the human person: the place of communion with God. The Fathers speak of guarding the heart so insistently because they know what has been entrusted to us. Grace has entered there. The Name has been received there. Desire for God has been awakened there. A fire has been kindled that does not originate in ourselves. The spiritual life, therefore, is not primarily the anxious avoidance of infractions. It is the guarding of a treasure. This changes how we understand vigilance. We do not guard ourselves because God is waiting to punish the smallest mistake. We guard ourselves because love is delicate. Communion can be obscured. Desire can cool. The eye of the heart can become clouded. What has become luminous through prayer can gradually become opaque again. The evil one understands this very well. He does not always attempt to tear a person immediately away from God. With someone who has given himself deeply to prayer, such an assault might be too obvious. Instead, he waits. He works through what appears negligible. A little negligence. A little self-confidence. A little relaxation of watchfulness. A thought that seems harmless enough to entertain. The enemy is patient because he knows that a heart need not renounce God explicitly in order gradually to lose sight of Him. Palladios gives us an extraordinary image of this darkening in the bread. At first the monk receives heavenly bread, pure and provided by God. As his interior life becomes disordered, the bread appears grimy and gnawed. Later it is almost entirely spoiled. What is happening visibly to the bread corresponds to what is happening invisibly within the monk. The gift has not ceased to be gift, but his capacity to receive it has become corrupted. The tragedy is not simply that temptation has appeared. Temptation comes to everyone. The decisive moment comes earlier: he notices the diminishment and does not respond to it. He regards the first symptoms as trivial. This is one of the most penetrating insights in the story. The monk does not suddenly decide to abandon his vocation. He fails to take seriously the cooling of his love. The Fathers would have us become sensitive to precisely this. When prayer becomes burdensome, notice. When mercy toward another begins to disappear, notice. When resentment becomes pleasurable, notice. When the imagination begins feeding upon something we would once have rejected, notice. When silence becomes uncomfortable and distraction increasingly necessary, notice. When we begin excusing in ourselves what once brought us immediately to repentance, notice. Not because every movement of weakness is a catastrophe, but because small movements reveal the direction in which the heart is turning. The story attributed to St. Maximos makes the warning still more sobering. The young monk possesses astonishing spiritual authority. Even wild animals obey him. Those around him naturally interpret such gifts as evidence of sanctity. St. Anthony is less impressed. He sees a ship filled with precious cargo and says, in effect: Yes—but will it reach the harbor? Everything is contained in that image. Grace received is not yet grace preserved. Virtue acquired is not yet virtue safely possessed. Spiritual gifts are not guarantees. Years of asceticism are not guarantees. Miracles are not guarantees. The harbor is reached only through perseverance. This is why Maximos interprets the command to “turn away from evil, and do good” as something more than the avoidance of sin. We must fight to diminish the passions; we must labor to acquire the virtues; and then—we must remain awake in order to preserve what has been given. He connects this with Adam's vocation in Eden: to cultivate and to keep. The heart is a garden. Grace cultivates it with us. Prayer waters it. Tears soften its soil. The remembrance of God makes it fruitful. Virtue slowly becomes something beautiful and living within us. But the garden must also be kept. Perhaps this is why the Fathers can appear severe about things modern people consider insignificant. Their severity is not necessarily born from fear. At its deepest, it arises from wonder. They know what the heart can become. They have seen human beings filled with God. They have seen the mind made luminous through prayer, the passions transfigured, the hardened heart made merciful, and ordinary human beings become bearers of the Holy Spirit. Having seen such things, they cannot regard anything that gradually extinguishes that life as trivial. The treasure is too precious. And yet neither story finally teaches despair. Palladios' monk awakens. Remarkably, his awakening comes while he is teaching others. He hears himself speaking truths that he has ceased to live, and suddenly sees himself. The contradiction becomes unbearable. He runs back into the desert, casts himself upon the ground, and repents. God receives him. The angel's words are filled with mercy: “God has accepted your repentance and has had mercy on you.” Something has nevertheless changed. The miraculous bread does not return. His remaining years are marked by mourning. This is not because God refuses forgiveness. Rather, the story preserves the terrible seriousness of freedom. Forgiveness is complete, yet our choices are real. Grace is not magic, and repentance does not make our history unreal. The Fathers hold together what we so often separate: immense mercy and immense seriousness. Never despair. But never presume. Never imagine that a fall places you beyond the mercy of God. But never imagine that what darkens the heart is therefore insignificant. The Christian life is lived between these truths. Perhaps the most important question, then, is not simply, Have I committed some great sin? It may be much quieter: What is happening to my desire for God? Is the flame growing brighter or dimmer? Is prayer becoming more truthful or merely habitual? Is my heart becoming softer or harder? Am I becoming freer to love, or increasingly absorbed in myself? Have I begun calling “small” those things that slowly make me forget the One whom I love? The evil one is willing to wait. He knows that great falls can grow from tiny seeds of forgetfulness. We too must learn to wait—but differently. We remain before God. We keep the heart. We cultivate the garden. We guard the treasure. And when we discover even the smallest cooling of love, we do not panic and we do not despair. We turn again toward Christ. Immediately. Simply. Humbly. For vigilance, rightly understood, is not living in terror that we might lose God. It is living with the knowledge that nothing is more precious than having found Him. --- Text of chat during the group: 00:08:19 Fr. The story of the Prodigal Son is one we can all relate to. The Bible tells the story of a brash young man who leaves his home after asking for his inheritance. His loving father complies, and let's just say the son learns some valuable lessons on his travels.Eventually, he humbles himself and comes home; he needs his father and his family. It's really a story of Jesus and us.Matthew 7:7 says, “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.”We screw up sometimes. And maybe it's so bad that we can't possibly see a way back. That's when Jesus stretches out His arms and welcomes us home. He isn't as concerned with where we've been as He is where we end up. His perfect love and forgiveness are the only real healing for our self-inflicted wounds. If you think you've screwed up too much, or fallen too far—put that out of your mind, and simply tell Jesus you need Him.Let's pray. Lord, your willingness to welcome us back is something to behold. We are so grateful for your grace. In Jesus' name, amen. Change your shirt, and you can change the world! What happens when fast money starts costing you more than it gives you?India Woods joins Ash Cash inside the vault for an honest conversation about money, identity, motherhood, faith, entrepreneurship, and the real price of the lifestyle that first made her money.India opens up about graduating high school with a 4.5 GPA, becoming a dancer almost by accident, and quickly seeing the money go from a few hundred dollars to thousands. But behind the income came a side most people never see: five DUIs, a broken sleep schedule, time away from her children, postpartum depression, identity struggles, and the feeling that the club had become a trap. She also breaks down why leaving isn't as simple as “just stop” when dancing can bring in roughly $2,500-$5,000 a week and support not only you, but your family. The conversation then shifts to the next version of India: rebuilding her personal brand, landing a Savage Fenty opportunity, growing an audience of more than 100,000 followers, launching Pherfectly Balanced on Amazon, building a luxury vehicle fleet, learning investing, and finding ways to replace fast money with sustainable income.India also reveals that she has experienced having more than $100,000 and then less than $2,000, why she wishes she had saved more, and why her biggest goal now is not simply making money—it's creating peace, building businesses, helping other women, becoming a therapist, giving back, and eventually walking away from the club for good. This is a raw conversation about what happens when success, survival, faith, motherhood, money, and purpose all collide.Connect with India Woods:Instagram: @_indiawoodsssSearch “Pherfectly Balanced” on AmazonPherfectlyBalanced.comInside the Vault:@insidethevaultInsideTheVaultShow.comHost:@iamashcashIAmAshCash.comABUNDANCE IS YOUR BIRTHRIGHT.Join Ash Cash and a community focused on building wealth, increasing income, strengthening your mindset, and creating a more abundant life:TheAbundanceCommunity.comTIMESTAMPS00:00 – Why India tells women not to start dancing01:18 – Ash Cash book CTA02:20 – Welcome to Inside the Vault03:51 – Who is India Woods?04:20 – Atlanta, heartbreak, postpartum depression & real estate06:14 – Graduating with a 4.5 GPA06:30 – How dancing started as a joke07:20 – When the money turned into thousands09:30 – Five DUIs and the hidden cost of the lifestyle11:01 – Why she tells women “don't do it”11:49 – “The club is a trap”12:52 – Spiritual warfare, faith and fast money14:07 – Church, independence and finding herself again16:00 – Drinking, memory loss and wanting a different life17:51 – Motherhood changed how she sees the club18:34 – The million-dollar brand she wants to build20:36 – Making $2,500-$5,000 a week dancing21:04 – 104K followers, TikTok and monetizing attention23:16 – Using ChatGPT to help launch on Amazon23:32 – Why consistency is everything23:45 – Landing the Savage Fenty opportunity24:24 – Rebranding from T Hollywood to India Woods27:24 – Would she let her daughters become dancers?28:37 – Getting fired from Louis Vuitton31:32 – Going back to school and hustling differently32:09 – Building Pherfectly Balanced34:31 – Corvettes, a Cybertruck and her fleet business37:32 – Investing, stocks and a $10K investment38:23 – Ash: “We've got to get you out the club”39:00 – “I'd leave the club tomorrow” for $10K-$20K a month44:49 – Postpartum depression, identity crisis and sharing the struggle45:15 – From over $100K to less than $2K46:03 – Her book, P-Valley and turning her story into content52:32 – Money is an amplifier55:36 – Faith, responsibility and giving herself grace58:46 – Why Ash believes Pherfectly Balanced can make millions59:42 – Therapy, nonprofit work and giving back1:00:10 – Choosing peace over chasing more money1:01:35 – Ash predicts India's multimillion-dollar comeback1:03:14 – Connect with India Woods1:03:50 – Closing the VaultAdvertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy
What's the fundamental problem with humanity? Is it a lack of education? Poor policies in the public sphere? Why are humans the way they are? In this sermon on Ephesians 2:1–3 titled “Man in Sin,” Dr. Martyn Lloyd-Jones explains that the problem is much deeper. The problem is this: humanity is dead. Not physically dead––physically, people are very much alive––but in regards to spiritual things, humanity is born dead. Humanity sees no need for God and disregards His word. Spiritual realities are boring to them and they do not find the Bible relevant. As a result, humanity is shaped by the present age under the spiritual realm of darkness and organize their life apart from God. They do not know it because they are dead. The result is eternal death. Listen as Dr. Lloyd-Jones explains that one must know the depths of this problem. As the problem is much deeper than one thought, the solution must be greater than imagined. The delight in the gospel of Jesus Christ comes from understanding this. They were hopeless and dead. Without Christ, there was nothing one could do. Yet God loved them and He has made them alive.

Who likes to wait for what we need or want? Basically, nobody.Of those nine elements that make up the Fruit of the Spirit, patience may be the hardest.Romans 8:25 says, “But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience.”And patience is learned, which makes it one of the sweetest fruits the Spirit gives us. Waiting for a “payoff” of some kind makes the end result that much more rewarding. Life teaches us that.A childless Hannah endured mocking and ridicule, but the Bible tells us in First Samuel that she prayed, and she waited. Imagine how she felt when the date of her delivery drew near! She eventually had several children, but it was her patience in waiting on Samuel that made all the difference. If you're waiting for something very important, read and meditate on the Fruits of the Spirit, especially patience.Let's pray.Lord, give us the patience of Hannah when we're frustrated by waiting. Teach us humility in the process. In Jesus' name, amen. Change your shirt, and you can change the world!
