SOMEBODY....STOP HIM!!!  Of course we're referring to Stanley Ipkiss played by Jim Carrey once he puts on that mask, the titular mask for this Summer '94 blockbuster smash which was based on a graphic novel of the same name.  Directed by Chuck Russell (Eraser) this was released amidst a breakout year for Carrey, smack between blockbusters Ace Ventura: Pet Detective and Dumb and Dumber.  But THIS was the one where he got to stretch a bit....LITERALLY. :) Carrey plays a mild-mannered banker who one night finds a mysterious mask in the dock of the fictious Edge City where he lives.  He soon finds out that once he puts on that mask at night, it transform him into a cartoonishly green party animal who can sing, dance, and do impressions with the best of them!  Also starring in this comic book adapted comedy is Peter Greene, Peter Riegert, and in her big screen debut Cameron Diaz.  It's time to P-A-R-T-Y.....WHY?  Because he's GOTTA!!! ;) Host: Geoff GershonEdited By Ella GershonProducer: Marlene GershonSend us a texthttps://livingforthecinema.com/Facebook:https://www.facebook.com/Living-for-the-Cinema-Podcast-101167838847578Instagram:https://www.instagram.com/livingforthecinema/Letterboxd:https://letterboxd.com/Living4Cinema/

Marcus talks through his customers' experienceMarcus's customer journey Marcus likes to respond initial enquiries quickly, ideally within an hour. He then moves on to trying to setup a Zoom call. As photography is visual, having a visual call is really important. That call is all about listening not selling. Zoom also means ideas can be shared visually. After this Marcus will send out a quote, which is done automatically using his CRM. So Marcus doesn't really talk much about pricing in that initial call, that comes in with the quote goes out. If the job goes ahead Marcus sets up another Zoom call before the shoot. This is a very creative call, talking about clothes, props and locations. It's also a great way to get clients used to working you before you even meet.People don't like being photographed.Marcus think in the UK people would prefer to go to the dentist than have their photograph taken. That means photographers need lots of... Techniques to relax people Chatting to themAsk them about what people do, what they did at the weekend etc. All the classic questions to try and engage people. Get people involved in the process Shooting tethered means subjects can see the results of the photographs on the screen. They can then engage much more actively with the photography.   Ask them about clothes, props and angles. Things Marcus does Observe Marcus observes people intently. He is looking for things they naturally do and then asks them to do those in the photos. It might be a way they hold their head or a way they hold their hands. Mirror This is either you showing them something and ask them to follow it. Or even better if you can quickly build rapport you can get them to just automatically copy you. So for example if you cross your arms they do it to. Direct This is the classic of the photographer telling the subject what to do. After the shoot Initially Marcus narrows the photos down to about forty or fifty photos that he sends to the client via an online platform. He has found sending more than this just confuses the client. These photos have had a light edit, but not much more.  From then what happens depends on the client. Some keep all the images, some make a selection.

Sebastian goes on to speak about how he uses humor in a similar way — turning insights into memorable calls to take action in the real world.[13:16] - Super Fluffy, Ethereal, Woo-Woo, SoftErin on being yourselfErin shares how she's felt pressure to be a certain way in her presentation — soft, ultra-cheerful, and wellness focused. “That is just not who I am.” Instead, she prefers actionable direction. “What do I need to do today when I go home? Just tell me what the hell I'm supposed to do to get out of burnout?” She wants the tools, and that's what she brings to her keynotes. There is room for both styles in the keynote world, but it's all about determining who you will be.[18:42] - The Trojan HorseHiding the profound in the simpleJosh and Tucker speak about how marketing your message matters. If you present your message as being all about work-life balance and personal growth, planners may put you in a “breakout session on the third day of the conference.” But if you can pitch a big-stage concept, then imbue it with powerful and profound messages, you can deliver on the promise of your keynote while also bringing powerful, positive surprises to your audience.[22:21] - The Individual and the OrganizationHow to speak to both in your messageErin shares how she's found her message of burnout connecting on both an individual level and an organizational level. Finding a message that does both is essential as a keynote speaker. You can't only speak to people on a personal level, but you also can't be focused only on the bottom line. Speakers must find a way to deliver their message in a way that its impact is clear — both for individual human beings who want to improve their wellbeing, and for massive enterprises who want to supercharge their organizational success.[25:39] - What Gets You On the Stage? Our guests speak on what motivates themAsk speakers why they do what they do, and you'll get different answers — but a similar core theme. For Seb, it's about impact. He speaks about letters he's received that detail both personal and organizational transformations that genuinely improve people's lives. For Tucker, it's about turning his own mistakes, missteps, and hangups into opportunities to help others grow. When he reflects on opportunities he's missed in life by sticking to what was comfortable, he sees the opportunity he has to help others break out of their own comfort zones and seize those opportunities. Finally, Erin shares how passionate she is about helping people find real success, the kind of success that doesn't show up in net worth or job title. She's seen amazing leaders who have reached the pinnacles of their careers who are miserable, burnt out, and lost. She believes in showing those people there is hope, that you can be successful and balanced and mentally healthy.Overall, all three of our guests believe in the power of how words spoken onstage can lead to so much more — not just improving financial outcomes, but improving lives.RESOURCES:[2:20] 100 Things, by Sebastian Terry[39:23] The Type A Trap, by Erin StaffordFollow Sebastian Terry:WebsiteInstagramFacebookYouTubeLinkedInTwitterFollow Erin Stafford:WebsiteTwitterInstagramLinkedInFollow Tucker Bryant:WebsiteTwitterLinkedInFollow Josh Linkner:FacebookLinkedInInstagramTwitterYouTubeABOUT MIC DROP:Hear from the world's top thought leaders and experts, sharing tipping point moments, strategies, and approaches that led to their speaking career success. Take the sign of the new world order and it's prescribed vac or you are not following the prophet, they will insist. If you do not mark yourself with their Bio-marker then you are selfish, you are a threat, and you are an enemy to mankind. But will the pearly gates open for the un-vaxed? Will you be judged for not altering your DNA? Or do you think wearing a mask and taking an injection are not part of the requirements for entering heaven? They would tell you yes you must have the injection. The Zealots of the New World Order and its Religion, the Vaccine, would have you believe that you are evil for not following their ways. If you do not mark yourself with their medicine then you are selfish, you are a threat, and you are an enemy to mankind. But these zealots only follow one ideal, a commandment of men and evil. They do not strive to keep the laws and ordinances of Christ. They do not follow his gospel, or keep his commandments. They only enjoy what the world offers and pretend with a face covering up their sins. What would they have you do? They would have you feel guilty, because they know you have a conscience, so they push and obligate you into doing something you know you don't want to do. They tell you you must, and they take away your free agency. All in the name of their new religion.

What started in the 1990s as a new form of technology called texting has now evolved us into a different manifestation of humanity. We are now controlled by a web that feeds us lies, tells us what to think, and keeps us from connecting to each other. We swallow as normal what we would have thought horrible just a few years ago. People are cut off and ostracized if they begin to think differently than what is allowed by the censors of truth. There is one opinion and we follow it no matter where it takes us. We no longer connect to each other in a natural way. We only live through cyber reality. We feel what they say we should feel. And we act in ways contrary to nature because they tell us to. We are disconnected from truth, from reality, and from life itself.

The Mask You know that kids movie with the condom joke, tailpipes shoved into… tailpipes and a very sexually aggressive hero. You know the one. 1994’s The Mask is a real weird kids movie based on a comic book about a homicidal maniac. Jim Carrey was just hitting his hot streak in the 90s and everyone was annoying people or being annoyed by the quotable catchphrases in this movie. Adam Sheehan from TMNT Minute and Tales from the Short Box makes his first guest appearance and brings some much needed history with The Mask comics with him. In this episode, I am going to share with you some tips on how your child will be noticed or remembered in this holiday season. If you want your child remembered, plan something or do something that will remember them, and don't expect or wait for others to do that.So if you want something in particular, plan it, get it, create it, spread the word, whatever you need to do.Here are some ideas that we do in particular to remember Aria:A picture frame with a lot of pictures of her.We light a candle at the gathering that we are at.In our home, we have a statue of a little girl, wind chimes, bird feeder. On Christmas, we have a few more things like ornaments. Our tradition is that Santa brings something in Aria's stocking. In her stocking comes a game or puzzle, or last year was a year pass to the science museum. We go sing at the cemetery on Christmas Eve. We have gone to Angel of Hope ceremonies, and different events put on by the hospitals. For All Saint's Day, it was a very special moment when Justin had the kids blow out candles we had lit, and before they could blow out the candle, they would say something they remembered about Aria or something they wished they could do with her. Keeping your child's memory alive and talking about them is something I know you want so badly. You never want them to be forgotten. So keep their memory alive. Do things that feel like you can connect to them.Other things that you can do :Bake something they likedWrite letters to themLit a candle for themAsk other people what a memory they have is of themWatch some videos if you have someDonate to a cause in their nameIf you find something that you could buy for your child and wish you could, buy it and gift it to someone elsePlay their favorite music or music that reminds you of themCreate a memory book of themCreate a memory videoSend out cardsDo a fundraiser like a 5k run or walk in their memoryIf you want to apply for a spot for 1:1 Grief Coaching, go to www.meganhillukka.com/griefcoachingJoin my free class on How to Get Through Grief. Is Warner Brothers memorabilia appropriate decor? Was anyone expecting Loki to come up in this film? All these questions and more are answered in this week’s ep! -Here’s the Red Hot Riding Hood cartoon that the movie pulls from. -Erika thinks we should all honor Cameron Diaz’s career with a Being John Malkovich rewatch.
