Born into a broken home in Detroit's south side, Tim lived through two decades of trials that resulted in debilitating fear and anxiety that nearly killed him. After spending 30 years, running from God, thinking He was a “crutch” that weak minded people use, God showed up and, in a moment, radically changed everything! The experience he had with God 14 years ago, has transformed his life forever, completely healed of fear, doubt, stress, that gut wrenching, almost crippling anxiety and an enlarged erratic heart. Tim has been driven by the Glory of God he encountered and longs to experience again. As a student of the Word, Tim has graduated from two major Bible Colleges and continues to dig deeper daily. By instilling biblically based core values both personally and professionally, Timothy continues to initiate movements of fellowship and goodwill that have spilled over into every area of life. As a dedicated husband, daddy, grand-daddy, and businessman he is setting a standard of teaching by example and living in The Word. His life is a classic, rags to riches story, that has inspired so many. Timothy's continued perseverance in honoring scripture, has led to the recognition of not one, not two, but three of his companies to be named by Inc Magazine as the fastest growing privately held companies in America. This includes eight-time Inc. 5000 Hall of Fame Honoree Top Flite Financial, two-time honoree Three T's Properties and most recent company to enter the Inc. 5000 ranks was All in One Custom Renovations. Tim is also the founder of Harvest House Ministries, with a goal of spreading the word of the Lord as it is written, without the soft edges provided by many modern churches. Tim is a accredited author with a bestselling book, The Single Minded Christian. He also serves as the President of the Homeless Angels, a nonprofit completely community funded program that houses an average of 120 homeless individuals and families each night. Tim's passion for flight started at an early age. He took his first introductory flight on Grosse Ile when he was 16 but didn't become a private pilot until age 38 and now fly's both fixed wing and paramotor. His God given vision has progressively materialized into the reality of spiritual and professional accomplishments against many odds. Tim oversees the daily operations of several multi-million-dollar corporations, diligently helps so many in need, while relentlessly pursuing biblical truth. https://www.facebook.com/torchport?mibextid=LQQJ4d https://www.paramotorarkansas.com/account/register get a free account and you might find a free gift in your mail box WIN PRIZES - Help our mission! MLB – Major League Baseball Last Night Houston Astros 7, Detroit Tigers 0 Chicago Cubs 5, New York Mets 2 White Sox were off Astros 7, Tigers 0 – Valdez pitches 1st shutout, Astros blank Tigers 7-0 Framber Valdez pitched his first career shutout and the Houston Astros beat the Detroit Tigers 7-0. Valdez posted his 24th straight quality start, tying Jacob DeGrom in 2018 for the longest single-season streak. He gave up six hits and struck out eight with one walk. The Tigers were shut out for the second day in a row and club-record 21st time this season, tying them with the 1973 New York Yankees and 1976 Chicago White Sox for most by a team with a designated hitter. Jeremy Pena had three hits for the Astros and scored twice. Cubs 5, Mets 2 – Cubs hound Bassitt, beat NL East-leading Mets 5-2 Chris Bassitt had his shortest start in three months, failing to get through the fourth inning as the NL East-leading New York Mets lost to the Chicago Cubs 5-2. The Mets had won each of Bassitt’s last eight starts, a span in which he had a 2.24 ERA. But the right-hander gave up five runs in 3 2/3 innings — his quickest exit since he lasted a season-low 3 1/3 innings against San Diego on July 8. Rafael Ortega and Zach McKinstry homered for the Cubs. The Mets stranded 10 runners — including seven over the first six innings against rookie Javier Assad, who allowed five hits in earning the first victory of his career. Tonight Houston (Brown 1-0) at Detroit (Hutchison 2-7), 6:40 p.m. WSJM/WCSY 6:20 Chicago Cubs (Sampson 1-5) at N.Y. Mets (deGrom 5-1), 7:10 p.m. Colorado (Kuhl 6-8) at Chicago White Sox (Kopech 4-9), 8:10 p.m. NFL – National Football League – Week 1 Yesterday Seattle Seahawks 17, Denver Broncos 16 Seahawks 17, Broncos 16 – Seahawks survive Wilson’s return, edge Broncos on missed FG Geno Smith threw two first-half touchdown passes, Denver fumbled twice at the 1-yard line in the second half, and the Seahawks beat the Broncos 17-16 in Russell Wilson’s return to Seattle. Brandon McManus missed a 64-yard field goal attempt with 20 seconds left and the Seahawks escaped with another wild victory involving Wilson at quarterback. Except this time Wilson was the opponent and there will be plenty of questions about Denver coach Nathaniel Hackett’s late-game clock management and decisions in his first game. Denver faced fourth-and-5 at the Seattle 46 and had three timeouts left, but the Broncos ran significant time off the clock before Hackett called timeout and decided to have McManus try the long field goal. NCAAFB – Notre Dame QB Buchner expected to miss season with injury Notre Dame quarterback Tyler Buchner is expected to miss the rest of the regular season with an injury to his nonthrowing shoulder that will need surgery. Fighting Irish coach Marcus Freeman says Buchner has a severe AC joint sprain in his left shoulder. Buchner was injured in the fourth quarter of Notre Dame’s surprising loss to Marshall on Saturday. Drew Pyne, who came off the bench after Buchner was hurt, was listed as the starter on Notre Dame’s depth chart of Saturday’s home game against California. NCAAFB – Narduzzi mum on status of injured Pitt QBs Slovis, Patti No. 23 Pittsburgh is dealing with uncertainty at quarterback as the Panthers prepare for a road trip to Western Michigan. Starter Kedon Slovis left last week’s overtime loss to Tennessee with an undisclosed injury. Backup Nick Patti injured his left leg early in the fourth quarter but had limited mobility. Head coach Pat Narduzzi offered no update on the status of either quarterback. Dartmouth transfer Derek Kyler and redshirt freshman Nate Yarnell have been competing to be third on the depth chart behind Slovis and Patti. WNBA – WNBA Playoffs – WNBA Finals (best of 5) Tonight Connecticut Sun at Las Vegas Aces, 9:00 p.m. (LV leads 1-0) WNBA – Sun beaming with confidence despite loss to Aces in Game 1 The Connecticut Sun might be down one game in the WNBA Finals after losing their first series opener of the postseason, but they haven’t lost confidence thanks to a stringent defensive effort in Game 1. The Sun did what they hoped to do in by holding the league’s No. 1 offense well below their season average. The top-seeded Las Vegas Aces averaged a league-best 90.4 points per game during the regular season and were scoring a playoff-best 92.3 per contest heading into the finals. Sunday, the Sun held Las Vegas to its lowest point total of the postseason in the 67-64 loss. Tennis – Carlos Alcaraz: 19, US Open champ, No. 1, unique Carlos Alcaraz is the U.S. Open champion and the No. 1-ranked player in men’s tennis at age 19. And he is exhausted. He tells The Associated Press on Monday that he is not quite sure how he managed to play and win so many tough and long matches in a row to earn his first Grand Slam title. He also says he considers himself a unique player who can hit a lot of different shots and never gives up on a ball. He grew up admiring Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer but is not interested in comparing himself to either. NBA – Wolves reprimand Edwards for homophobic social media remark The Minnesota Timberwolves have reprimanded star guard Anthony Edwards for homophobic comments he made on an Instagram video and later apologized for. Timberwolves president of basketball operations Tim Connelly says the team is “disappointed in the language and actions” Edwards displayed in an Instagram video. Edwards made a disparaging, profane comment about a group of men on a sidewalk he recorded from a vehicle he was inside. Edwards deleted the post and apologized for his remark. Nikola Jokic, Kevin Durant, Rajon Rondo and Kobe Bryant are among players who’ve been disciplined by the NBA in the past for anti-gay language. Soccer – US Soccer investigation into NWSL misconduct nearing end U.S. Soccer says an investigation into alleged abuse and misconduct in the National Women’s Soccer League is expected to be completed by early October. The investigation led by former acting U.S. Attorney General Sally Yates was initiated last fall after North Carolina Courage coach Paul Riley was accused of sexual harassment and coercion by two former players. Riley was fired and league Commissioner Lisa Baird stepped down in the wake of the players’ claims. U.S. Soccer and the NWSL and its players union announced separate investigations. Boston Marathon – Boston Marathon to welcome nonbinary athletes to 2023 race Nonbinary athletes will be able to run in next year’s Boston Marathon without having to register as members of the men’s or women’s divisions. Race organizers announced the change on Monday as registration opened for the 127th running of the prestigious race next April 17. The Boston Athletic Association says it’s been working to expand opportunities for nonbinary people — not just for the marathon but for the BAA’s other events. It says nonbinary athletes can submit entry applications if they’ve completed a marathon as a nonbinary participant during the current qualifying window. Races around the U.S. increasingly are adding nonbinary divisions and offering equal prize money. NASCAR – Hamlin chasing NASCAR driver’s title, owner’s championship Denny Hamlin the driver finds himself in the most enviable of positions heading into Saturday night’s race at Bristol. His second-place run at Kansas Speedway over the weekend nearly ensured his spot in the next round of the playoffs. Denny Hamlin the owner? He’s feeling even better. The car he was chasing down in the waning laps of Sunday’s race happened to be the No. 45 driven by Bubba Wallace for 23XI Racing, which is owned by Hamlin and Hall of Fame basketball star Michael Jordan. The victory pushed the team into the next round in the race for the lesser-known owner’s championship. We've brought Michigan State Senator Mallory McMorrow (of this famed viral floor speech) and her colleague MI State Representative and State Senate candidate Darrin Camilleri to the Bay Area. The DLCC has identified Michigan as one of the three states where we actually have a chance at flipping the State Senate, in this instance, because of the state's independent redistricting process. Our friends at The States Project and Sister District have joined us in endorsing Darrin Camilleri for one of the country's most critical state legislature seats. These are also two leaders who The Next 50 is firmly behind for their rising leadership in Michigan and in our country. About Senator Mallory McMorrow: Sen. Mallory McMorrow is serving her first term in the Michigan Senate. McMorrow gained more than a decade of experience in product design, media and advertising through her work with Mazda, Mattel, Gawker Media, Hearst and other global brands. She brings a fresh, creative and collaborative approach to addressing and solving some of our state's most complex issues. As a state senator, McMorrow is focused on increasing our state's competitiveness by supporting what makes Michigan unique – our people, unparalleled history of manufacturing and innovation, and our Great Lakes. She will work to diversify our economy by creating more opportunities for small businesses, provide our kids with a world-class education, fight for access to health care and clean water for all Michiganders, and ensure we fix our roads. She earned her bachelor's degree in industrial design from the University of Notre Dame. About Darrin Camalleri: State Rep. Darrin Quiroz Camilleri is serving his third term representing the 23rd District, which includes the Downriver communities of Gibraltar, Grosse Ile, Huron, Trenton, Woodhaven, and Brownstown. He currently serves as Minority Whip for the House Democrats and the Minority Vice Chair on the House Education Committee. In his first few years, he has quickly emerged as a statewide voice on education and a champion for workers' rights. Over the past three years, Camilleri has consistently introduced legislation to keep Michigan's promises to working people and help everyday Michiganders get ahead. Notably, he has been a leader in the fight to protect pensions for police officers, firefighters, teachers and school employees. He has also worked extensively to protect our environment and highlight the state's literacy crisis and teacher shortage. Camilleri was awarded Progress Michigan's Legislator of the Year in 2017, was recognized as one of Crain's Detroit's 20 in their 20s, and given the Michigan Association for Media in Education's 2018's Outstanding Legislator Award for his work on expanding access to school libraries.

Cameron’s 416-foot shot to left-center came off Emilio Pagan. Alex Lange gave up two walks and struck out one in the pivotal eighth inning and Gregory Soto earned his 10th save. AL Central-leading Minnesota has lost seven of 10 games and is still the division’s only team with a winning record. Horford finished with 26 points and the Celtics outscored the Warriors 40-16 in the final 12 minutes after trailing by 15 points late in the third quarter. Boston made its first seven tries from long distance in the fourth and wound up 9 of 12 beyond the arc over the final 12 minutes as almost everybody got involved in the 3-point flurry. NBA – Silver says NBA likes ‘parity of opportunity’ for its teams Over the last three seasons, six franchises have reached the NBA Finals. The league has seen five Eastern Conference champions in the last five seasons. This will be the fourth consecutive year that the team which hoists the trophy won’t be the same as the one who did the year before. Adam Silver likes all these numbers. The NBA Commissioner, in his annual pre-NBA Finals address Thursday night held just before Game 1 of the series between the Golden State Warriors and Boston Celtics, repeated his familiar refrain that he doesn’t care who wins. But he also sees the value in some unpredictability from one year to the next as far as which teams make it to the title round. NHL – National Hockey League – 2022 Stanley Cup Playoffs – Conference Finals Last Night Colorado Avalanche 4, Edmonton Oilers 0 (COL Leads 2-0) Avalanche 4, Oilers 0 – Francouz, Kadri lead Avs to 4-0 win over Oilers in Game 2 Nazem Kadri had three assists in a 2:04 span in the second period, backup Pavel Francouz stopped 24 shots for his second career playoff shutout and the Colorado Avalanche beat the Edmonton Oilers 4-0 on Thursday night to take a 2-0 lead in the Western Conference finals. Artturi Lehkonen and Josh Manson scored 15 seconds apart to get things going in the second, with Mikko Rantanen adding another on Kadri’s third assist. Nathan MacKinnon scored late in the third. Game 3 is Saturday in Edmonton. Sutter oversaw the biggest one-year improvement by any team in the league guiding the Flames to the Pacific Division title a year after they missed the playoffs. Sutter received 54 first-place votes to beat Florida’s Andrew Brunette and New York Rangers coach Gerard Gallant for the honor. WNBA – Women’s National Basketball Association Tonight Chicago Sky at Atlanta Dream, 7:30 p.m. WNBA – Griner receiving, answering WNBA players’ emails Brittney Griner has been able to receive emails and letters from WNBA players through an account Griner’s agent set up to allow them to communicate with her. The emails are printed out and delivered sporadically in bunches to Griner by her lawyers after being vetted by Russian officials. Griner doesn’t have access to email. She’ll either write a response on paper and her lawyers will take a photo of it or she’ll dictate a response. The two-time Olympic gold medalist has been detained in Russia for more than 100 days after vape cartridges containing oil derived from cannabis were allegedly found in her luggage at an airport near Moscow. Tennis – French Open – Gauff to face Swiatek in final It will be top-ranked Iga Swiatek against American Coco Gauff for the French Open women’s singles title on Saturday. Swiatek won her 34th straight match today, dominating Daria Kasatkina 6-2, 6-1. Gauff has reached her first Grand Slam final by beating Martina Trevisan of Italy 6-3, 6-1. NCAAFB – CFP board chair: New format ideally in place by June 2023 The university leaders who oversee the College Football Playoff want the next format for determining a champion settled by this time next year. Mississippi State President Mark Keenum says the conference commissioners in charge of building the postseason system for the 2026 season and beyond will restart the task in the coming weeks. Keenum is the chairman of the CFP board of managers. He added that he intends to meet with his fellow presidents and chancellors in August to discuss what comes next for the playoff. An attempt to expand the playoff from the current four-team format to 12 teams before the current 12-year contract with ESPN expires after the 2025 season fell apart last fall. NCAA – Roger Valdiserri, Notre Dame SID for 3 decades, dies at 95 Roger Valdiserri, who helped tell the story of some of Notre Dame’s greatest football teams as the school’s sports information director for three decades, has died. He was 95. Valdiserri’s family says he died of natural causes at a retirement community outside Chicago. The family said he was surrounded by his five children at the time of his death. Valdiserri was a native of Pennsylvania who graduated from Notre Dame in 1954. His first job at the school was an administrative assistant for football coaches Frank Leahy and Terry Brennan. He took over as the school’s sports information director in 1966 under coach Ara Parseghian. Notre Dame won the first of four national titles in football during Valdiserri’s tenure that season. NBAGL – NBA G League – Grand Rapids Gold moving to Van Andel Arena One month after officials decided that the DeltaPlex Arena will close, the Grand Rapids Gold of the NBA G-League have had to search for a new home venue. The team will move to the downtown Van Andel Arena starting this upcoming season. Van Andel Arena is the 4th largest arena in the state of Michigan and is currently the home of the American Hockey League’s Grand Rapids Griffins, who are the Detroit Red Wings primary affiliate. Van Andel Arena holds just under 11,000 for hockey, and 11, 500 for basketball. The Gold, who are the affiliated of the NBA’s Denver Nuggets, won’t be the first professional basketball team to call Van Andel Arena home, the Grand Rapids Hoops of the now defunct CBA played there from 1996-2001. So the fact of the matter is…Fuck. I had this great thought. I lost it. Too drunk. So typical. My keyboard stand (which I stupidly left at the gig) is being held for ransom by the guy from one of the other bands, what I'm beginning to think is a troubled musician type, possible drug problem as he asked if I'd loan him $20 when I come to get it...cuz he has no car and he lives 40 minutes away. When I realized how far he was, cuz I thought Grosse Ile was by Grosse Pointe (In my defense, I've been away for 10 years) but either way, I cancelled the meeting cuz a new one would be $20 and that combined with gas, I figured I'll break even. When I originally told him I'd loan him the money and go to his house, and he was ECSTATIC! He called me mikey mike mike or whatever like we were best buddies. (Typical user. Excited cuz he can hang up and call his dealer.) I hung up after I told him I'd be there in an hour and a half. After 30 minutes, he called me asking where I was. That's when I was like, this guy's an addict. Stay far away from him. I told him I had to reschedule, so he started arguing the point, saying things like "well, aren't you almost here by now?" and things like that. It was fucked up. Now he's calling me, for what I don't know. He's so angry that he's not getting his fix. Thank god I live behind barbed wire.Support the show

We're baaaaack! After a few busy weeks we had a great time enjoying each other's company, eating good food and telling stories.
A 108.8-kilogram sturgeon that could be more than 100 years old was caught on April 22 in the Detroit River by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. The “real life river monster” was nearly 2.1 meters long, the agency said April 28 on Facebook, where a photo of it was shared more than 24,000 times by late afternoon. “Based on its girth and size, it is assumed to be a female and that she has been roaming our waters over 100 years. She was quickly released back into the river” after being weighed and measured, the Fish and Wildlife Service said. The typical life span for a sturgeon is 55 years for a male and 70 to 100 years for a female, according to the Michigan Department of Natural Resources. This fish was caught near Grosse Ile, south of Detroit, while a three-person crew was conducting an annual sturgeon study. Frozen round goby, a tasty snack for a sturgeon, was used as bait on a long line that was deep in the river. It took about six minutes to get the fish into the boat with a net. Lake sturgeon are listed as a threatened species in Michigan. All sturgeon caught in the Detroit River must be released. (AP) This article was provided by The Japan Times Alpha.

Jack Berry, renowned sports writer talks about fellow Michigan Golf Hall of Fame member Glenn Johnson who passed away recently and was an important mentor and friend of Emily’s, as he was to many. Mahalo for listening to the talk story or reading the story and nice tribute to Glenn that Jack wrote and I have included below. GLENN By Jack Berry The PGA Tour had Doug Sanders. The European Tour has Ian Poulter. The LPGA has Paula Creamer. But for all out color and pizzazz, we had Glenn Johnson of Grosse Ile. Johnson arrived in Charlevoix for the Michigan Amateur in a Cadillac top down convertible packed with clothing changes for three double round days of match play. That was confidence and that was Glenn Johnson. “I had fun with the clothes. I hated to play (after a morning round) without cleaning up,” Johnson said. “One time a guy asked me why I was always changing colors, why I didn’t wear black or white. I went out that afternoon in red, white, blue, black, everything. He was 2 down after the first two holes. “I liked match play. I enjoyed the psychology, watching the opponent. I had more fun without saying anything,” Johnson said. “I’d look at their grip and they’d be thinking ‘Is something wrong with my grip?’” There was no one like him in Michigan golf and he passed away to the green course in the sky on Dec. 11 at the age of 92. The later years were difficult but there were so many good times, so many matches won and memories like the Michigan sectional qualifying held at Birmingham Country Club for the 1972 United States Open at Pebble Beach. Chuck Thorpe, the confident young brother of the PGA Tour’s Jim Thorpe, and Johnson were tied after regulation. Thorpe, a brash smasher, figured to win on the first hole. A par five. Thorpe didn’t use a tee. He’d stomp his heel into the ground and place the ball on top of the upturned turf. But he only made par and so did Johnson. The second hole was a short par four with the green short of the river, unlike today’s position. It was driveable but Thorpe didn’t drive it, made bogey and Johnson won with a par and was off to Pebble Beach. Johnson played the Monday and Tuesday practice rounds before “immense crowds.” He’d called Arnold Palmer and asked to play with him. Johnson knew Palmer since he played in the prestigious Grosse Ile Invitational in Arnie’s amateur days. After the two Palmer rounds Johnson hooked up with defending Open champion Lee Trevino on Wednesday, his third round with two of golf’s superstars on one of the most famous courses in the world. That was Glenn. Johnson didn’t play golf until after service in World War II as a pilot, teaching men how to fly the B-24 Liberator bomber, and then college at Michigan State. He won nine letters in sports at Grosse Ile High School, had three years in at Michigan State before the military service and returned to play quarterback his senior year. He played against Miami in the Orange Bowl stadium, played against Santa Clara on the West Coast and said that rules permitted only one substitute per quarter so “If you were first string, you played about 50 minutes every game.” Johnson’s father was a captain in Ford’s lake freighter fleet and the family settled on Grosse Ile in 1927. Glenn naturally took to the water and sailed the Port Huron to Mackinac race and was first mate on a winner. He was a lifelong fisherman with a boat docked by his house. He finally connected with golf “because the practice tee was 200 yards from my house” and said he worked hard at it. His short game was especially sharp. “I didn’t hit it that far but I knew where to hit it” and match play was his game. Johnson won five Michigan Amateur championships, second only to six by Chuck Kocsis. When the Michigan Golf Hall of Fame was established, Kocsis was in the first threesome with World Golf Hall of Famer Walter Hagen and Oakland Hills professional Al Watrous. Johnson was in the second threesome with two-time Masters champion Horton Smith and PGA champion Walter Burkemo. Four legendary professionals and two superb amateurs formed the first six members of the Hall of Fame. When Johnson came to golf, he came full force. He played in 43 Michigan Amateurs, at one point won 23 straight matches, qualified to play in 17 United States Golf Association championships, was low amateur in the 1981 Open at Oakland Hills, and won 15 Grosse Ile club championships. As a senior he helped form the Society of Seniors, an organization of the best senior amateurs in the country. He won the Eastern Seniors five times and a North and South Senior. He looked out for young players at Grosse Ile, and Emily Gail, a top junior, said “Glenn was a huge factor in my being encouraged to be a good female athlete. He was a great mentor and friend. I called him a couple weeks ago as I would do a couple times a year to tell him how much I appreciated his encouragement. He helped me learn how to love hitting balls and practice which I still do.” And because Johnson also was a skier, two of Michigan’s best holiday golf tournaments were established. “I skied at Boyne Mountain and became friends with (owner) Everett Kircher. He had a golf course and Labor Day weekend was deadsville. I told him he had all those empty beds and he should start a two man tournament.” Kircher took the advice, made Johnson co-chairman and the Kircher Cup is nearly four decades old with a full field every year. Then Johnson, assisted by the late Bucky Brower, real estate salesman and something of the unofficial mayor of Boyne Country, talked Kircher into starting a tournament in another “deadsville” period, Memorial Day weekend. Now it’s the Nike State Pro-Am. Besides his golf, skiing, boating, and interest in the Red Wings – he had seats right behind the goal in the Olympia Stadium days, Johnson was an accomplished artist. One of his favorite subjects was clowns and one of his paintings is in the Michigan Golf Hall of Fame collections of members’ memorabilia. Grosse Ile members and friends of Johnson celebrated his 90th birthday at the club and unveiled an exhibition of his many trophies, medals and awards received over the years. There’s a full length painting of Johnson with trousers as colorful as a tropical garden. “I’ve had a fantastic run,” Johnson said when he was a guest of honor at the 100th Michigan Amateur in 2011 at the Heather course, his favorite, at Boyne Highlands. Fittingly, he was wearing a sweater of many colors.
