Sisters Jackie and Jessica Rodriguez started working in the family restaurant business as teenagers. With time and hard work, they have grown into leadership positions in this successful multi-concept hospitality company in El Salvador. What started as a San Salvadorian bakery created by their grandparents, grew into a 20-unit chain under the leadership of their father. Sixteen years ago, the family jumped at the opportunity to purchase a small hotel and their concept diversification plan was underway… Today Grupo Lorena consists of Hotel Villa, 16 Lorena bakeries as well as Don Beto Cafe, Fontana Bar and Restaurant, and La Tartaleta. The family decided to become a franchisee of the Japanese seafood concept, Sushi Koi as a way of continuing its multi-concept expansion. "We believe it is important to pioneer concepts, becoming the first in the San Salvadorian market helps us create impact, further our growth and increase our brand value" says Jessica, who heads up Marketing and Brand Management. In this episode, we learn the distinction between a family operating restaurants and a restaurant business that happens to employ family members. Jackie, who leads operations, purchasing and Human Resources explains, "You don't simply get a position in the company because you are family…you must qualify and get selected based on education and experience." This is a story of successful concept development, profitable operations and strategic expansion by a family that has created a culture of responsibility, accountability and reward.

Welcome to the Freedom Driven Success podcast! As we get started on the fantastical voyage together, what do you say we get to know each other a little better, along with the backstory of freedom driven success. I'm your host, Jessica Rodriguez, and I help business owners achieve freedom driven success by leveraging the power of courses, evergreen sales funnels, and connection driven marketing so they can reclaim the freedom they originally started their business to have. However, this wasn't the kind of business I've always had. Not even close. In this episode, I'm going to take you behind the scenes of how a day that was supposed to have me feeling on top of the world, left me in a sea of confusion and sadness that was followed by shutting down two profitable online businesses in order to put myself and my needs first. Including: A walkthrough of the day in Nashville that I thought was going to be a full celebration of my success. What happened in the middle of a photoshoot that threw me for an unexpected loop. My experience literally being “behind the curtain” with multiple six and seven figure owners that made me question everything. The text that stopped me in my tracks because I realized that what showed to the outside world and what I felt weren't anywhere near the same. When I realized that making a change wasn't an option, it was required for myself, my mental health and my marriage. What the real impact of putting yourself first creates (not just in your business but your personal life as well). Who you see today is a direct result of this moment in time and the work that had to happen in order to both define my own definition of freedom driven success and align the way I do business to that definition. It was also the catalyst that has gone on to transform the businesses and lives of our clients throughout the years. Anxiety has played a large part in my life and my business over the last 7.5 years. Her anxiety has empowered her to work less and live more, and that has allowed her to create the business that is right for her. This is so important and something that I talk about all the time - we are creating our business around our life, not the other way around. As the CEO of Freedom Driven Success, Jessica Rodriguez is on an unapologetic mission to help online businesses expand beyond a 1:1 reliant business model with scalable offers that allow them to amplify their impact and profit, without increasing their work hours. Everyone on social media now is going live. When live launching comes to mind, what do you think of it? In this new episode of the Influential Entrepreneur Podcast, Jessica Rodriguez joins Ashley Monk and they talk about the power of live launching. She is the founder of Freedom Driven Success and is a wife, a furbaby momma, fair-weather runner, music lover, and taco aficionado. Live launches can be scary because a lot of people do not like it when things go wrong especially when it comes to marketing your offer. However, Jessica points out that being intentional when you are selling to people opens the doors of opportunity to connect with prospective clients. People get to know the person behind the brand. Conversations, connections, and questions that can never be touched on with an automated approach to marketing can be experienced in a live launch. Experience, aside from all the data that can be gathered, is the center point of live launching in which both the consumer and the entrepreneur benefit. Tune in with the Influential Entrepreneur Podcast, this episode has so much to offer: Know the reason why entrepreneurs fear launch periods of their business Learn which type of live launch suits your business Hear about how to deal with a live launch that isn't going as planned Enjoy this new episode of The Influential Entrepreneur, if you are in for more check out our Influential Entrepreneur Community where Ashley goes live every Wednesday. Jessica Rodriguez is the new owner of West End Yoga Studio here in Lancaster Pennsylvania. About 8 years ago Jessica started her yoga practice and quickly fell in love with West End yoga studio and enrolled in their yoga sanctuary school teacher training. When she saw the yoga studio was going to close due to covid-19 she knew that she could jump in with her skills to keep the studio open for our community. Jessica lives in Lancaster Pennsylvania with her husband and two sons who are ages 5 and 14. In addition Jessica is the Healthy Living Director of the YMCA. When you belong to a yoga community even if you don't grow super close with those you practice with you still feel a connection with your teachers and your other classmates This helps combat depression and feelings of loneliness. Usually the last things on our mind right now are our physical fitness and that can also lead to a lot of pressure and self-judgment. with yoga we become more aware of our bodies as they are and become more in tune with our bodies feel and the changes that occur in them. Today on 30 Minutes, our multipart series continues with excerpts from Living DACAmented with Tucson based organizer and activist Jessica Rodriguez. This presentation was just weeks before the Supreme Court ruled against the Trump Administration’s efforts to rescind the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program. Up first, Migrant Trail Organizing Committee Member Kat Rodriguez introduces Jessica Rodiguez. Jessica Rodriguez is a Tucson based organizer and activist. Currently, she is the Lead Organizer for the Southside Worker Center. The Southside Worker Center supports a community of worker-leaders building collective power and raising the standards of worker conditions so that workers can take part in dignified work and earn just wages. Throughout her work at the Southside Worker Center, Jessica has helped to recover thousands of dollars in wages for workers, stop criminalization, detention, and deportations of families, defend the rights migrant workers and develop migrant-led worker-owned cooperatives. For the Virtual Migrant Trail, Jessica shared her personal experience as a DACA recipient in Arizona. Since 2004, a group of committed people has coordinated an annual week-long, 75-mile walk from Sásabe, Sonora, Mexico to Tucson, Arizona to call for an end to migrant deaths along the U.S.-Mexico border and to stand in solidarity with victims of global migration. In May 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, participants were unable to physically unite to remember those who have died crossing To continue to raise awareness about migrant deaths and to help raise money for local border justice organizations, organizers launched an alternative Migrant Trail Walk experience to bring people together in a virtual environment. Proceeds benefitted: BorderLinks, the O’Odham Anti-Border Collective, Keep Tucson Together, and the No More Deaths Emergency COVID-19 Bond Fund. The Migrant Trail 2020 Alternative experience included a week of daily reflections, videos, podcasts, and featured speakers. This has been part 6 of a multipart series. You can learn more about The Migrant Trail on their website and their Facebook group. Edited and produced by Amanda Shauger with audio provided by the Migrant Trail Organizing Committee.

She started out as an intern and worked her way up to become the president of entertainment and chief marketing officer of Univision. But before all that, she was a girl growing up in the Bronx — the eldest daughter of two Spanish-speaking immigrants, which gave her a foot in two worlds. As a kid, she had to translate for her parents — especially after her father died suddenly when she was just 15. She says those responsibilities coming at such an early age are common — and where others simply see hurdles, she also sees the start of her trajectory as a business leader. Now, Jessica Rodriguez is one of the most powerful Latinas in media. And she wants to help make the c-suite more diverse — which means, in part, making people see their own strengths.
I met Jessica Rodriguez at an event in LA back in May, and was immediately drawn to her beautiful energy and get-shit-doneattitude, as well as her refreshing honesty. As the Founder of Freedom Driven Success, Jessica Rodriguez has an unapologetic mission to help purpose-driven businesses expand beyond a 1:1 reliant business model with scalable offers that allow them to amplify their impact and profit, all while working less hours in the process. Not one to shy away from sharing the whole kit and caboodle, Jessica’s Freedom Driven Success podcast (available on iTunes and Stitcher) is jam-packed with straightforward strategies, behind-the-scenes insights, and powerful conversations about what it really takes to run a business that serves you first. Her Clients to Courses™️ Society guides women through her proven framework to break free from their maxed-out business model and create sustainability through evergreen courses, strategic sales funnels, and connection-focused automation. When not talking all things business, you can find Jessica making inappropriate jokes with her hubby, trying (and failing) to keep her furbabies from taking over the house, curled up on the couch binging Friends, or traveling to experience whatever next adventure life brings. Jess and I covered a lot in this episode and she was gracious enough to give us a peek at the various businesses she has created, and how she juggles in all, and manages her mental health at the same time. We're talking about: Attaching self worth to our work Speaking very openly about her anxiety and how she not only manages it but turns it into her superpower The dark side of isolation, especially in entrepreneurship The human experience is not unique, and how we connect to each other based on shared emotions Giving yourself permission to do exactly what you need for YOU, no one else, and without the side of guilt I'm beyond excited for you to listen in on this candid conversation and to get to know Jess! In 1985, she was the only female graduate in her class major. Jessica has over 30 years of experience in transportation, primarily with roadway design. Jessica started her career working for TXDOT, where she worked as the only female engineer in the district for years. She currently works as a Senior Project Manager for Freese and Nichols, Inc. The Episode Something I want to highlight here is what Jessica described about her background at the beginning of the podcast. Neither of her parents went to college. She has an older sibling who went to college ahead of her, but he studied music. The reason Jessica went into engineering as a major is because her guidance counselor pointed out her strengths in mathematics and science and therefore, suggested Engineering as an option to her. This is incredibly poignant. Guidance Counselors, Teachers, and Parents can have a huge influence on a young person's path. Also, for any young person reading this, I want to remind you that you have it in you. You can accomplish academically what you set your mind to. Another important highlight from this episode - Finding out what you don't want to do is just as important as finding out what you want to do. Jessica highlighted this with respect to earning a Masters degree - better to learn through some work experience before finding a specialty area that you earn a focused, research degree in. Towards the middle of the episode, Jessica described her perspective on the difference between working for government and working for a consulting firm. For a little more insight into this you can also check out the short video I made about job options in Engineering here. Things Jessica said to try and learn (or classes to take) while you're still in school: Business Basics How and engineering budget is put together How to put together a construction schedule Classes on Project or Construction Management At a consulting internship - ask to listen in on marketing calls/meetings You can also learn more about the sub disciplines of Civil Engineering (like Transportation) careers by visiting the Occupational Outlook Handbook.
