We're kicking things off at the IAAPA Expo 2025, the global meeting place for theme-park creators, innovators, and anyone who thinks fun should come with seat belts and safety restraints. With more than 1,100 exhibitors and endless new ride concepts, animatronics, VR demos, and snack samples, the Expo is always an overload of creativity — in the best possible way. We'll break down what caught our eye, the coolest booths we explored, and of course… the food we sampled along the way. From there, we head into Hollywood Studios for dinner at Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater, one of the most uniquely themed restaurants in all of Walt Disney World. We'll share what we ate, some fun Imagineering trivia (including those famous license plate Easter eggs), and why burgers, onion rings, and milkshakes just taste better when you're sitting in a glowing retro convertible under a fake night sky. Finally, we wrap up at The BOATHOUSE, where we enjoyed classic lobster rolls with perfect waterfront views and a side of Disney Springs energy. We'll talk ambience, fun facts, and why this spot continues to be one of the most reliable dining experiences at Disney.

This week on the Video Store Podcast I am picking four Disney tapes you might have turned to when the big animated titles were already gone at the store. These were the ones that less visited shelf of the Disney section. You might not have planned on renting them, but once you did, they stayed with you. They would sometime sit untouched for weeks, but occasionally a family would rent one and their kids would fall in love with them. That meant they would return to the rent them again in the future. A Dream Called Walt Disney World from 1981 is the first tape on the pile. It is a friendly tour of the resort at a moment when the whole property still felt wide open. You get long looks at early Magic Kingdom walkways and enough hotel footage to remind you of how new everything once was. The narration has that calm voice that Disney liked to use in this era. It is the kind of tape you might put on after a long day just to let the music and visuals calm you down. I used to rewind certain parts just to capture moments again and again, although I guess a lot of us did that.Next is Walt Disney World EPCOT Center A Souvenir Program from 1983. This one always felt a little more polished. It has that nice steady tour feeling. The camera moves through Future World and World Showcase at a relaxed pace and gives you plenty of time to look at the early design work. You get glimpses of shops, shows, and attractions that changed only a few years later. People would keep this one longer than they were supposed to because its pacing calmed their kids down. Although I think the adults also liked it.The third pick is Where the Toys Come From from 1984. It is different from the others, but it showed up in the same section since it wasn't a “Disney Classic.” Theodore Thomas directed it and his father was one of Disney's Nine Old Men, which gives it a little history under the surface. It is a small story told. Not a lot of noise, not a lot of movement, just a pleasant mix of travel and simple moments with the toys. The last tape is Disneyland Fun from 1990. While we kept it in the children's section, that did not stop older viewers from giving it a try. It is part of the Sing Along Songs line and it moves through the park with a sense of energy that fits the late eighties/early nineties. A few numbers were filmed just for this release, which gives it a couple of moments that never showed up anywhere else (Haunted Mansion!). The crowds and costumes look exactly like what you saw if you visited around that time. We played it at Suncoast often and I bought my own copy after seeing it the firs time. These tapes were steady choices when everything else was checked out. They sat there waiting for someone to notice them and they did their job without much fuss. They made a quiet night at home feel a little brighter with Disney Magic. Thanks for reading Video Store Podcast! Subscribe for free to receive new posts and support my work. This is a public episode. And does it function appropriately or is it some weird nightmare version? Question 3: What's a perfect Disneyland day or a must-do every trip for you? Bonus Question: Name a popular Disney experience you have either never done or you feel is overrated and explain why.

Adriane and Mike are back with Part Two of their October Disney World adventure! Day two kicks off with a swashbuckling start at Magic Kingdom's newest hotspot, the Beak & Barrel, setting the tone for a day full of surprises. Later that evening their plan was to snack their way through the EPCOT Food & Wine Festival but Florida had other ideas. When the skies opened up with relentless rain, they had to pivot fast and stumble into a little Disney magic.A last-minute reservation at 'Ohana during the Happily Ever After fireworks turned what could've been a washout into one of the most unforgettable Disney evenings. Proving once and for all that not all rainy days at Walt Disney World are bad, some of them are iconic.Follow Adriane (@heyadriane) and Mike (@mikemolinari) on TikTok and Instagram for all the videos, vlogs, and behind-the-scenes moments from this magical adventure!
Planning a trip with multiple generations of your family? Before you book, listen to this essential episode! Travel advisors Ryan and Julie share hard-won wisdom about the most common mistakes families make when planning multi-gen vacations—and how to avoid them. From the planning phase through your actual trip, they cover everything: why you need to nail down dates BEFORE contacting your travel advisor, the importance of having a "team leader" for your group, and why trying to do everything together is a recipe for stress (spoiler: those Disney families of 20 walking in a line aren't having as much fun as you think).Discover why cruises and all-inclusives work so well for multi-gen groups, how to handle different budgets within the same family, and the critical conversation about who's paying for what. Julie shares real stories from her own family trips and client experiences, while Ryan offers practical tips about room configurations, meeting points, and making sure everyone's expectations are aligned. The hosts emphasize that while planning some group activities is important, the magic often happens in the unplanned moments—cousins running to each other in the Magic Kingdom, spontaneous trivia sessions on the cruise ship, or simply sharing a meal together. They also tackle the delicate balance of ensuring the person treating the family doesn't have their preferences overlooked.Whether you're planning a cruise, Disney vacation, or all-inclusive getaway with grandparents, siblings, and kids in tow, this episode will help you create a memorable trip that brings your family closer together—without the drama.Support the showLove the podcast? We're cracking open another round of our Listener Q&A series, where your questions take center stage and we get to time-travel, daydream, debate, and laugh our way through the wild world of Walt Disney World. From Back to the Future-style time hopping to EPCOT engineering, this one covers a little bit of everything—so buckle up, because the flux capacitor is… well, metaphorically humming. We kick things off with a big one: If you had one day to time travel to any Disney park in history, where and when are you landing? Parade nostalgia, extinct attractions, retro vibes—nothing is off the table. Then, we get delightfully nerdy as we design a brand-new World Showcase Lagoon attraction and pitch a fresh Skyliner route that Imagineering will probably ignore but shouldn't. Over on Twitter, we tackle what kind of perk could actually convince us to buy direct DVC—and yes, we get honest. Instagram brought the planning heat: Pop Century vs. French Quarter for a June family trip, Skyliner convenience vs. resort charm, and how to tackle Fourth of July fireworks across a three-night celebration.Plus, we wrap up with a festive bite of holiday goodness as we spotlight Columbia Harbour House's Gingerbread Cake—because every Q&A needs a little sugar. Tune in, laugh along, and keep those questions coming!

A nervous dad, two small kids, and a head full of Six Flags memories walk into Hollywood Studios—and everything changes on Slinky Dog Dash. We invited fellow creator Jarrett to share the real story of taking a young family to Walt Disney World after decades away: planning paralysis, stroller logistics, and the unexpected magic of cast members who turn chaos into calm.We dig into the moment Galaxy's Edge flipped a switch and turned a four year old's casual curiosity into full-on Star Wars fandom, from Kylo Ren's patrol to a life-changing meet with Darth Vader. You'll hear how a simple popcorn bucket became crisis control, why Pop Century and the Skyliner are clutch for parents, and how to balance the urge to “do it all” with strategies that keep toddlers regulated and adults sane. We also talk food realities when kids only want pizza and chicken strips, plus why Disneyland's snack scene and walkable layout might be the next best move. Then we stack parks against a Disney cruise: built-in childcare, stress-free dining, and slower rhythms versus kinetic wonder, character moments, and confidence-building rides. Jarrett shares what he'd do differently next time, how to time shorter Magic Kingdom days around party nights, and why the best plan is sometimes to plan less. Whether you're choosing between cruise or castle, or plotting both, you'll get practical tips, candid takeaways, and a reminder that the right moment often finds you when you stop forcing it.If this helped your planning brain unclench, follow the show, share it with a Disney-loving friend, and leave a quick review so more families can find us.You can find Jarrett at jswordsmith.com and on Instagram and Threads at @js_wordsmith.----Adventures & Mousecapades is a passion project from Alicea & Nathan Novak - two Seattleites addicted to The Mouse. We're diving headfirst into another round of our Main Street Magic Mailbag: Listener Q&A — one of our favorite series because we truly never know what questions are coming. They're funny, thoughtful, surprising, and sometimes just delightfully odd… which makes them perfect. We kick things off with a question about the biggest Disney purchase we regret. We break down the decisions we would absolutely not make again. Next up, we get hit with a brutal “Would you rather?” dilemma: Would you rather never try new Disney foods and drinks again, or never try new attractions? It's the kind of question that makes you choose between your taste buds and your thrill-seeking heart. We also chat about how we'd redesign an attraction queue to make it more interactive, and we come up with a few ideas that would turn waiting in line into part of the fun. From there, the holiday spirit sneaks in with a whimsical question about which job we'd choose if we worked in Santa's workshop. Would we be toymakers, bakers, reindeer wranglers, or something even more chaotic? We break down the roles that fit us and the roles that would absolutely backfire. We also explore what it would be like to spend Christmas in a Disney movie universe. With so many magical worlds to choose from — animated, live-action, wintery, colorful — we debate where we'd want to celebrate the season. Then, a big one: What must-do experiences should first-time visitors, especially kids around 8 and 11, absolutely not miss? We cover attractions, shows, character moments, and little magical touches that make a first visit unforgettable. We also squeeze in a mini conversation about iconic Disney shirts and how quickly they become conversation starters.Next, we look at the top items still lingering on our Disney bucket list — the experiences we haven't crossed off yet but can't wait to someday. Finally, we wrap things up with a delicious question: What type of new food booth would we add to EPCOT's Food & Wine Festival? We dream up flavors, themes, and creative menu ideas we'd love to see join the festival lineup. It's a fun, lively, listener-fueled episode filled with Disney talk, holiday vibes, park tips, food dreams, and plenty of laughs. Grab your headphones and enjoy another round of Main Street Magic Mailbag!
Planning a Walt Disney World vacation is exciting, but it is also way easier to get wrong than most families realize. After helping hundreds of families plan their trips, I see the same seven mistakes over and over, and they lead to stress, meltdowns, exhaustion, and a vacation that feels more like a survival mission than actual fun. In this episode, I break down the 7 rookie mistakes most first-timers make at Walt Disney World and show you exactly how to avoid them so your trip is smoother, happier, and actually feels like a vacation. You'll learn: • Why party nights and park hours can quietly wreck your plans • The big reason you should never do Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios back to back • How one extra resort night can transform the entire trip • Why dining reservations can throw off your whole schedule • When rope drop hurts families more than it helps • Simple ways to recover, pace yourself, and avoid burnout • The number one planning mistake that ruins Disney trips for most families
On this episode of **Remy's Roundtable: The Florida Theme Park Podcast**, Remy and Mike are steering the show through another magical (and hilarious) Florida adventure!Remy kicks things off by sharing his latest trip to **Magic Kingdom**, where the wait times were through the roof — we're talking hours for rides that usually move fast. With lines stretching farther than Main Street U.S.A., Remy decided to skip most of the attractions and soak in the atmosphere instead. After leaving the packed park behind, he made his way over to the **Grand Floridian Resort & Spa**, where the energy completely changed. Inside the elegant lobby, he caught up with his friend **Jeremy**, who was performing beautiful live piano music that filled the entire hotel with Disney charm. While at the Grand, Remy explored the brand-new bar, **The Perch**, an elevated and modern addition to the resort's classy lineup of lounges. However, there was one small letdown — no tequila on the menu! As a self-proclaimed margarita man, Remy couldn't help but joke about the lack of his favorite spirit while enjoying the relaxing vibe of this new Floridian hangout.Next up on **Ride of the Week**, Remy revs things up with a deep dive into **EPCOT's Test Track**, discussing its high-speed thrills, design innovations, and what makes it such an iconic part of the park's futuristic spirit. From its sleek cars to its exhilarating 65 mph finale, this attraction remains a must-ride for adrenaline junkies visiting EPCOT.To close out the episode, Mike takes Remy over to Disney's **Boardwalk Resort**, where the duo dined in style at the signature restaurant **The Flying Fish**. Between the elegant ambiance, the mouthwatering seafood dishes, and the high-end service, Mike's grand total came out to **$138** — but the experience was absolutely worth it.So sit back, relax, and enjoy this flavorful, fun-filled episode of **Remy's Roundtable: The Florida Theme Park Podcast**, where every stop in Central Florida brings a new story, a few laughs, and a whole lot of Disney magic!

Do you love the music of Walt Disney World? The optimistic ambience of EPCOT's World Celebration, whimsical sounds of Magic Kingdom, organic vibes at Disney's Animal Kingdom, and cinematic orchestrations of Disney's Hollywood Studios each set the tone for the theme parks, as do the music loops found at the hotels (each one carefully curated to match the theme of the resort). We're stepping into the lap of Disney luxury for another epic round of Resort Wars — and this time, it's an all-out battle between elegance and refinement as Disney's Riviera Resort goes head-to-head with Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. From European artistry to Victorian grandeur, we're diving deep into what makes each of these Deluxe destinations truly magical in its own right. We'll explore every corner and category, starting with theming and atmosphere — is it Riviera's intimate boutique charm or Grand Floridian's timeless opulence that captures the crown? Next, we'll unpack the rooms, from Riviera's clever Tower Studios and sprawling villas to Grand Floridian's newly refreshed spaces inspired by Mary Poppins Returns. Both deliver comfort and class, but in very different ways. Then it's on to dining — and let's be honest, this round alone could fill an entire podcast. We're comparing Topolino's Terrace and Primo Piatto to Victoria & Albert's, Citrico's, Narcoossee's, and more. From rooftop character breakfasts to Michelin-worthy cuisine, the food fight is fierce. We'll also talk transportation, where the Skyliner's breezy charm goes up against the monorail's Magic Kingdom convenience, and recreation, where Riviera's quiet sophistication faces Grand Floridian's live music, fireworks, and full-service spa. Finally, we'll weigh in on value. Whether you're planning a romantic couples' getaway or a bucket-list family stay, this showdown helps you figure out which resort best matches your Disney style, budget, and vibe.So grab your latte from Le Petit Café or a cocktail from Enchanted Rose, and join us as we debate, laugh, and share insider stories from two of Walt Disney World's most stunning resorts. It's Riviera versus Grand Floridian — modern European charm versus classic Disney royalty — and the results just might surprise you.
