Imagine my surprise when, on the Saturday before I was set to be interviewed on a podcast last summer, my phone dings. It's Door Dash. Huh?! I didn't order anything . . . Turns out it was a surprise delivery from the producer of that show, Matthew Thompson. Next thing I know, my husband Michael and I are enjoying iced coffee and yummy treats with our Sunday morning reading—I have never felt so taken care of prior to guesting on a podcast! That's Matt, and he's all class (not to mention a fellow systems aficionado). When he suggested we flip the mic to talk more about my podcasting process, I leaped to say yes :) We talk about increasing the surface area of serendipity, saving time, improving interview quality with pre-surveys, and what we both learned from conducting three-month daily podcasting sprints. More About Matt: Producer Matt helps entrepreneurs around the world unlock the power of podcasting. Over the last five years, he's built a system that protects founders from the pain of podcasting so they can focus on having conversations that add value, build relationships and grow their business. 1M downloads in 3 years... Allie went from having no idea what she was doing to totally claiming and owning her space as a leader in podcasting! I discovered Allie Reeves completely randomly through searching Apple Podcasts in December of 2021 (when her podcast was titled 6 Figure Influencer), and since then, I've been absolutely consumed by her content. Everything Allie shares on her podcast and on social media always feels completely in alignment with how I view the world of online business, and following along on her journey has had a HUGE impact on the way I've chosen to approach this podcast and my entrepreneurial journey.Allie's podcast (re-branded and re-titled to All In with Allie in January 2023) is for the woman who is ALL in: all in on her business, all in on her insane next level vision, all in on her relationships and values, and all in on herself. Focused on online business tips and behind-the-scenes secrets, All In with Allie guides business owners through what it really takes to claim it all as an entrepreneur, wife, mom - and/or simply a woman who wears a lot of titles and is dedicated to wearing each of them well.*NOTE: To clarify any confusion, Allie's podcast title was updated from 6 Figure Influencer to All In with Allie on January 1, 2023 (roughly six months after recording and publishing this episode). Welcome to today's YouTube For Realtors WALK AND TALK #39- I have so many things going through my head every day about YouTube for Realtors that I just want to get it all out! I get asked so many questions everyday and coach so many agents it's time to answer all of those in depth, on my walk to the gym!In todays episode I do a deep dive into Should You Start a 2nd Real Estate YouTube Channel and How to Name Them. The last two weekends I've been travelling and speaking on multiple events and stage and I must say I was wiped out. It's good to have a me-time to ourselves once in a while. Speaking of the event, I got cornered by quite few people in a good way running with a multitude of question and what I found was a lot of the questions had to do with how many channels should I have? Should I be separating these channels? What do I do in these smaller markets? How do I name the channel , how do I even start with naming the channel? I have this lady From California to Tennessee to these smaller market and her initial question was "Do we have to separate the channels for, you know, getting real estate leads and you know agent attraction." Obviously she was at Exp and that was her initial question has an obvious answer of yes. I cannot be doing all these cool videos about Tennessee and helping people move there and then hit them with. Top five reasons you should be joining Exp right? The people will get confused if they are expecting to see what is in the content and just seeing it'll be just another sales video. You really have to separate your content if you're going to have different messaging. Here's exactly what you do, through trial and error of doing it myself, I have a really good grasp on understanding what the consumer wants with these YouTube channels and also just how d*mn hard to grow them. I take for granted at some points of like I have, I think nine or eight eight or nine YouTube channels with over 1000 subscribers. And to me now I'm like ah hit 1000. You know I monetize it. I have eight channels paying me. You know, probably about 1500 a month. Which day that's pretty cool covers a lot of our VA expenses and stuff. When we think about growing these channels, first of all naming it now, I've talked about this in depth about living in channels, how I came about that and understanding that my channel was named my name, then ours and then I changed it to our real estate name and I was just like that gives no value to anybody. You know it doesn't rank anywhere, nobody's searching it. In the psychology behind I think. I really went back and forth on what to name it. Starting a second, third channel in these markets and not having any return for a while, it's going to really be hard. Naming your channel if you're in a small market, you're just gonna cover these micro markets just you can go with that it's just fine. Just like North Idaho, it's not the number one driver to our channel. But that allowed us to cover all those micro areas and then we ranked number one for core d'alene in Post Falls and that's what I would really recommend doing and this is what I coach people up on too. You know, when they're partnering with us and starting their their brand new channel or their second channel we have these strategy sessions. Look on the map by show them exactly where to start shooting videos, what markets to target, that kind of stuff. Are you considering starting an agency but worried now's not the right time? Are you afraid of failure or the added pressure of these uncertain times? It's totally understandable! Starting a business is scary, but especially during an economic downturn. So you might be surprised to learn now may actually be one of the best times to start an agency. In this episode, we'll cover: Should you start an agency during an economic downturn? Does your agency have a challenger mindset? Why self-awareness is key to your agency's continued growth. Today I sat down for a timely conversation with Scott Cullather, co-founder and CEO of INVNT, a live-branding storytelling agency. Scott started his agency right at the start of the economic downturn in 2008 and says doing so helped define who his agency is today. He's here to talk about how his agency thrived during a poor economy and what agency owners need to know today. Should You Start an Agency During an Economic Downturn? There's no doubt we are in one of the most volatile economies in our lifetime. Stocks are in flux, businesses are closing, and realistically, we have no idea what is going to happen tomorrow. But did you know now is actually the perfect time to grow an agency? Scott says one of the reasons his agency found success in 2008 is because there was literally nowhere to go but up. They had no employees, no overhead, and yes, no clients. But this meant every account they gained was one to be celebrated. And each one after was a sign they were moving up. When you have nothing to lose, it takes away your crutches. You don't think about what a certain decision might cost, but rather, what you have to gain. Does Your Agency Have a Challenger Mindset? Scott says starting during an economic meltdown set his agency up with a challenger mindset. Where larger, slower, flatfooted companies were making cuts and avoiding risks, INVNT was able to develop messages, strategies, and campaigns that were not only on brand but were designed to shake things up. Scott says this challenger mindset isn't one the agency has simply moved on from. Instead, it is what pushes the agency to grow. Being scrappy is everything. When you become complacent, that's when you're in the danger zone. Why Self-Awareness is Key to Your Agency's Continued Growth An agency owner must be self-aware of the decisions they make and their approach to business. Naturally, you should change your processes and systems as your agency evolves.. While you should always be willing to adapt and grow with the market, never lose that spark and drive you had when you first started your agency. It's like a football team who is up 21-0 that decides to change their strategy. If they lose their drive, they'll quickly find themselves down 28-21. Scott says he's always challenging his team to stay focused and grounded to the core principles that got them to where they are today. Often the ones who find the most success are the ones who aren't afraid to take a risk. When everyone else is stepping back, this is your opportunity to step up. Be scrappy, take chances, and don't be afraid to make big moves. When you start with a fighter attitude you'll discover it's likely a mindset that will stick around. “Whether I am doing the interview or I'm the person being interviewed, my goal is to bring out as much helpful information for that audience member as possible.” Ben Krueger On today's show, we are joined by the voice of Cashflow Podcasting, Ben Krueger. Ben joins us today to talk…you guessed it, PODCASTING! Cashflow Podcasting is not only a podcast, but it is a productized service that helps podcasters grow their audience, authority, and everything involved with the podcasting world. Today, Ben and I get into the nitty gritty of running a podcast. We chat interview psychology, the future of podcasting, how often businesses with podcasts should be publishing, and interviewing famous people. Ben shares his thoughts on what types of businesses should have podcasts, and which ones probably should not. Towards the end of the show, Ben will share some of his favorite podcasts, and some recommendations if you have a podcast or thinking about starting one. “They found that when they went to a weekly podcast as opposed to daily episodes, it actually increased both the number of opt-in's they were getting and the number of actual customers they were getting out-the-end, from the podcast.” Ben Krueger 02:34: How Ben and Chris Prepare for a Podcast 05:06: Interviewing Famous People 06:29: Drawing a Blank While Interviewing Someone? 11:05: Ben's Favorite Podcasts 16:43: The Future of Podcasting 22:35: Should You Start a Podcast for Your Business? 25:19: What Types of Businesses Should Not Use Podcasting? 27:42: How Often Should You Publish? 35:18: Ben and Chris Chat About Podcasting Hosting and Recommendations 38:25: Podcasting Hardware and Software Recommendations Honorable Mentions: Noah Kagan Presents Podcast http://okdork.com/podcast/ 'I Love Marketing Podcast' with Dean Jackson and Joe Polish http://ilovemarketing.com/podcasts/ 'More Cheese Less Whiskers Podcast' with Dean Jackson http://www.morecheeselesswhiskers.com/ Terrifying Robot Dog Podcast http://show.terrifyingrobotdog.com/ The Joe Rogan Experience Podcast http://podcasts.joerogan.net/ 'Leadpages - Conversion Podcast' with Tim Paige https://www.leadpages.net/blog/category/conversioncast/ Libsyn https://www.libsyn.com/ Soundcloud https://soundcloud.com/theentrepreneurhouse Blubrry https://www.blubrry.com/ Sticher https://www.stitcher.com/ Google Play https://play.google.com/ Audacity http://www.audacityteam.org/ Skype Call Recorder http://www.ecamm.com/mac/callrecorder/ Contact Info: http://cashflowpodcasting.com/ http://thepodcastchecklist.com ben@authorityengine.com Twitter: @BenWKrueger https://twitter.com/benwkrueger?lang=en Subscribe to our podcast on iTunes https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/entrepreneur-house-live-in/id1069958541?mt=2
