In 2018, Murray Duffy was charged with taking too many fish in the recreational cod fishery. This April, nearly three years later, he will be back in court to continue his fight to establish that Mi'kmaq in Newfoundland, like our people in Nova Scotia, have a Treaty right to fish. Despite promising in the last election campaign to fight for fishing rights for Qalipu members, Chief Brendan Mitchell now says there's nothing he can do to help. Duffy will have to face the judge alone.
This April marks 20 years since the lovable anti-hero Shrek first hurled mud at the silver screen. An Ogre with as many layers as a stinky old onion, he captured the hearts of movie-goers, spawning three sequels and an endless wealth of memes. The soundtrack solidified the enduring relevance of Smash Mouth, and the box office take and critical recognition established DreamWorks Animation as a substantial competitor to Pixar. There’s even a musical. Today we re-examine this children’s classic two decades later, and look to the future of the franchise. Plus, Ryan's Recommendation! Air New Zealand chief executive Greg Foran has told Checkpoint refunding all customers for cancelled flights would ground the airline for good. The national carrier is losing $5 million a day and is bracing for potentially more job losses saying it needs to slash $150 million more from its wage bill. It has already ditched 4,000 jobs with some employees taking a 30 percent cut in pay. The company has had more than $70 million from the government wage subsidy scheme but says it will need to rely on the second round of subsidies for millions more. Last April it carried 1.4 million passengers. This April it was just 15,000. It is also taking a hammering from many customers unhappy that they are being offered credits instead of refunds. But the airline says it simply does not have the financial reserves to refund everyone. Chief executive Greg Foran speaks to Lisa Owen.
In this episode I address the stunning new information about the alleged “Russian hack” of the DNC, and the troubling revelations about Obama’s role in the targeting of Mike Flynn. Fires break out every year in Biebrza National Park, but Poland hasn’t seen such a large one in years. Before the flames could be brought under control, Poland’s biggest national park, with a surface area of almost 600 km2 “square kilometres”, was ravaged by wildfires for several days. Many are calling it an environmental tragedy. Magdalena Melaniuk from the Polish World Wide Fund for Nature spoke to us about the circumstances in which the fire broke out, and what’s its impact might be. “It was most likely caused by illegal grass burning. In these marshy conditions in the Biebrza national park, the heavy equipment cannot be used, so we had to rely on the airplanes and helicopters that were available to put out the fire. And that's also the reason why it took such a long time to extinguish it. There might be a significant reduction in the population size of many species and even local extinction of entire population of rare species. The fire in Biebrza national park reflects an ongoing change in the climate. In Poland we build dams and dry marshes such as those in Biebrza. We forget that it is natural rivers and their valleys that can actually counteract drought, that we are experiencing right now." Poland is not the only country in Europe likely to face drought this year and those ahead. This April is the driest the Czech republic has seen for two years. And droughts in the country are not only intensifying, but starting earlier each year. In Germany, meteorologists forecast a drought that will greatly debilitate the harvest, the second there in the last two years.

Which One Of These Four Membership Types Suits You? Have you ever wondered what would become possible for you if you were to have reliable revenue in your business every month? What would that do for your business? What would that be able to do for your household? That's what a membership can bring to the table.Memberships can do just that - provide you with a regular income. You may have seen that memberships and subscriptions are popping up everywhere at the moment. That’s because they are an incredible way to serve people online. We live in a digital era. That means everyone’s attention is going to continue to move into the online space.People are constantly looking for better ways to do things in their life. Whether it's a new skill to learn, ways to automate and streamline... Even the basic everyday needs and wants that they have in their lives without having to leave their homes.During this episode, you will gain clarity about what a membership could look like for you and for your business. THE TRIBE EXPERIENCE This week’s episode is brought to you by the TRIBE Experience. This is an amazing, highly transformative, online course co-founded by Stu McLaren. He’s not only my mentor and the guy who taught me everything that I know about online memberships and subscriptions... He’s also the go-to guy, helping big entrepreneurs, authors, speakers, small business owners and everyday people take what they know and what they already do and turn that to a recurring revenue stream AKA a membership or a subscription. The TRIBE experience literally changed my life and my business! This April, Stu is going to be opening up that same course I took (which only happens once a year). I'm a massive advocate on what this course can do and what a membership can do for your life and for other people you can help. Consider how awesome it would be to be able to sell something just ONCE and then have that bring in reliable revenue month after month. I’m subscribed to several memberships, some for my business, others for home life (like toilet paper subscriptions, a wine club, Netflix, Doterra, and I’ve even belonged to a house plant subscription). I’ve had my eye on joining a monthly cheese club.... Have a think about all the monthly subscriptions that you are part of. Memberships are everywhere. They are all around us!Here at Mums With Hustle, I’ll be dedicating this month of April to serving you all things memberships and subscriptions. I truly believe that this is a powerful way to welcome that business stability and predictability. It relieves you from so much overwhelm that business owners experience when they are constantly promoting something in order to get the sale. MUMS IN BUSINESS WHO JOINED THE TRIBE EXPERIENCE AND LAUNCHED THRIVING MEMBERSHIPS Last week in the podcast, I had Jessica Donovan join me. Jessica is one of my Inner Circle Mastermind ladies. She has done Stu McLaren’s TRIBE experience course and she has a thriving membership with hundreds of women who are there to learn natural ways to improve their child’s gut health. If you haven’t listened to the episode, she shared a bunch of tips that you’ll want to scoop up when it comes to launching your membership.Coming up next week, you’re going to be hearing from Liv Morgan. Liv is another member inside of my Inner Circle Mastermind. Liv sells physical products. She sells earrings that she designs and makes. She started her earring box subscription last year in 2019 after doing the TRIBE experience with us - myself and my husband and business partner here at Mums With Hustle, Karl Harris. We’re affiliates for Stu’s TRIBE Experience and we absolutely love it!Liv joined TRIBE under our affiliate link. It meant that we could coach and guide her through the eight weeks of the TRIBE course. She also got juicy bonuses from us to help her have a successful launch as well. Liv has sold earrings for years at markets and also via her online store,

Is the United States positioned to lead long-term as the global energy mix continues to shift?Fossil fuels have shaped the geopolitical map over the last two centuries. Now, the rapid deployment of renewables has set in motion a global energy transition that could have profound geopolitical consequences. In this episode of Political Climate, we speak to Daniel Simmons, assistant secretary for the Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy, about how the U.S. Energy Department is thinking about intersection of geopolitics and cleantech. We also discussed the DOE’s new Energy Storage Grand Challenge and how the agency is deploying capital to support clean energy innovation more broadly under President Trump — and how the DOE is defining “clean energy innovation” under President Trump.Plus, we hear from Matt Myers, vice president of EarthxCapital. On the night of the 25th going into the 26th of April 1986, a chain of events began that would destroy thousands of lives, ruin millions of acres of land and would, in many respects, help catalyst the re-shaping of a world that had been in the grip of the Cold War since 1945. That chain of events would culminate in the nuclear disaster that decimated Reactor 4 at Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant, near the town of Pripyat, in northern Soviet Ukraine. This April sees the 33rd anniversary of the disaster. Dr. Paul Goldsmith joins Versus History to talk about his research and experiences at Chernobyl.

EPISODE 287: This is the story of Greenwich Village as a character -- an eccentric character maybe, but one that changed American life -- and how the folky, activist spirit it fostered in arts, culture and the protest movement came back in the end to help itself. This April we're marking the 50th anniversary of the Greenwich Village Historic District designation from 1969 -- preserving one of the most important and historic neighborhoods in New York -- and to mark the occasion we are celebrating the revolutionary scene (and the revolutionary moment) that gave birth to it -- the Greenwich Village of the 1960s. The Village is the stuff of legends: a hotbed of musicians, artists, performers, intellectuals, activists. In the 1950s, people often defined Greenwich Village as a literal village with a small-town atmosphere. Nobody was saying that about the Village in the 1960s. In just a few years, the neighborhood's community of artists and creators would help to define American culture. The Village was world famous. This episode will present a little walk through Greenwich Village in the early '60s, giving you the flavor of the Village during the era -- and an ample sampling of its sights and sounds. There's gonna be mandolins! And chess players. And avant garde theater. And art markets. And lots of coffeeshops. *snap* *snap* But we're also talking preservation with Andrew Berman, executive director of the Greenwich Village Society of Historic Preservation, to learn how the Greenwich Village Historic District came to be. boweryboyshistory.com gvshp.org Support the show.
This April marks 12 years since I got into wedding photography and in that time, so much has changed. But to be honest, a lot of the things I was doing back then are still fundamental to the success of my business today and haven’t changed at all. In this podcast episode, I’ll share with you some of the things I’ve been doing for the last 12 years that have helped me to become successful in wedding photography. These include providing great customer service, taking high-quality photographs, collecting reviews and taking advantage of SEO. I’ll also share with you what has changed and why such as no longer going to networking events or worrying about what my competitors are doing. As my lifestyle and priorities have changed, I’ve also had to become more efficient and focused on the way I run my business. By sharing with you what’s changed and what has stayed the same, I want to highlight the importance of finding a balance and understanding what works for you. While you need to adapt to changes taking place in technology and means of communication, you shouldn’t lose sight of what’s most important and what is of real value to your prospective clients.

S1EP7 Lauren Turk: Discusses her life and EP "Bloom" We play Lauren’s new song “See You Again” at end of episode! Lauren Turk: Lauren Turk's debut song and music video "Love Left Over" premiered on The FADER with an appearance from Amandla Stenberg. Lauren is known for her one-woman shows, singing in French, English and Spanish, live looping beats, piano, violin and her voice to soundscape from scratch, as well as her "Stories to Songs" concerts, where she transforms audience stories into songs live. She performs around the world for conferences, festivals and brands such as TEDx, Airbnb, OZY, Sandbox, Hatch, C2, VidCon, La Calaca, Kiss the Ground, USC, Amnesty International, and more. Lauren also composes for film (Bright; Netflix / Will Smith, Mexico Pelagico; Netflix). Calabria, Italy: Calabria, in southwest Italy, occupies the "toe" of the country’s boot-shaped peninsula. It's a sun-baked region of rugged mountains, old-fashioned villages and dramatic coastline, with many popular beaches. Coastal Reggio Calabria, its largest city, is home to the Museo Archeologico Nazionale and its Riace Bronzes, a famous pair of Greek warriors dating back to the 5th century B.C.E. Calabria Song: "Calabria" is a song by Danish DJ/producer Rune Reilly Kölsch. It was originally released in 2003 by Credence, a sub label of Parlophone Records. Istanbul, Turkey:Istanbul (UK: /ˌɪstænˈbʊl/, /-ˈbuːl/ or US: /-stɑːn-/ or /ˈɪstənbʊl/;Turkish: İstanbul [isˈtanbuɫ], historically known as Byzantium and before 1924 as Constantinople, is the most populous city in Turkey and the country's economic, cultural, and historic center. Istanbul is a transcontinental city in Eurasia, straddling the Bosporus strait (which separates Europe and Asia) between the Sea of Marmara and the Black Sea. Its commercial and historical center lies on the European side and about a third of its population lives on the Asian side. The city is the administrative center of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (coterminous with Istanbul Province), both hosting a population of around 15 million residents. Istanbul is one of the world's most populous cities and ranks as the world's fourth-largest city proper and the largest European city. Istanbul is viewed as a bridge between the East and West. Istanbul not Constantinople: "Istanbul (Not Constantinople)" is a 1953 novelty song, with lyrics by Jimmy Kennedy and music by Nat Simon. Written on the 500th anniversary of the fall of Constantinople to the Ottomans, the lyrics humorously refer to the official 1930 renaming of the city of Constantinople to Istanbul. The song's original release, performed by The Four Lads, was certified as a gold record. Pink’s NY: Hip hotspot for craft cocktails, upscale pub food & live music in an industrial-chic setting. Paris, France: Paris (French pronunciation: [paʁi] is the capital and most populous city of France, with an area of 105 square kilometres (41 square miles) and a population of 2,206,488. Since the 17th century, Paris has been one of Europe's major centres of finance, commerce, fashion, science, and the arts. Sciences Po: The Paris Institute of Political Studies, commonly referred to as Sciences Po, is a prestigious and influential academic institution in the social sciences in France. Buckminster Fuller: Richard Buckminster "Bucky" Fuller (/ˈfʊlər/; July 12, 1895 – July 1, 1983) was an American architect, systems theorist, author, designer, inventor and futurist. Fuller published more than 30 books, coining or popularizing terms such as "Spaceship Earth", "Dymaxion" house/car, ephemeralization, synergetic, and "tensegrity". He also developed numerous inventions, mainly architectural designs, and popularized the widely known geodesic dome. Carbon molecules known as fullerenes were later named by scientists for their structural and mathematical resemblance to geodesic spheres. Fuller was the second World President of Mensa from 1974 to 1983. Natural hair movement: The natural hair movement is a movement which encourages women of African descent to keep their natural afro-textured hair. Originating in the United States during the 2000s, this movement is called mouvement nappy in French-speaking countries. The Way of the Superior Man-David Deida:Though much has changed in society since the first publication of The Way of the Superior Man, men of all ages still “tussle with the challenges of women, work, and sexual desire.” Including an all-new preface by author David Deida, this 20th-anniversary edition of the classic guide to male spirituality offers the next generation the opportunity to cultivate trust in the moment and put forth the best versions of themselves in an ever-changing world. Women's studies:Women's studies is an academic field that draws on feminist and interdisciplinary methods in order to place women’s lives and experiences at the center of study, while examining social and cultural constructs of gender; systems of privilege and oppression; and the relationships between power and gender as they intersect with other identities and social locations such as race, sexual orientation, socio-economic class, and disability. Identity Politics:political positions based on the interests and perspectives of social groups with which people identify. Identity politics includes the ways in which people's politics are shaped by aspects of their identity through loosely[clarification needed] correlated social organizations. Examples include social organizations based on age, religion, social class or caste, culture, dialect, disability, education, ethnicity, language, nationality, sex, gender identity, generation, occupation, profession, race, political party affiliation, sexual orientation, settlement, urban and rural habitation, and veteran status. The term "identity politics" has been in use in various forms since the 1960s or 1970s, but has been applied with, at times, radically different meanings by different populations. Gender Norms:What are gender roles?Gender roles in society means how we’re expected to act, speak, dress, groom, and conduct ourselves based upon our assigned sex. For example, girls and women are generally expected to dress in typically feminine ways and be polite, accommodating, and nurturing. Men are generally expected to be strong, aggressive, and bold. Every society, ethnic group, and culture has gender role expectations, but they can be very different from group to group. They can also change in the same society over time. For example, pink used to be considered a masculine color in the U.S. while blue was considered feminine. Ethnography:(from Greek ἔθνος ethnos "folk, people, nation" and γράφω grapho "I write") is the systematic study of people and cultures. It is designed to explore cultural phenomena where the researcher observes society from the point of view of the subject of the study. An ethnography is a means to represent graphically and in writing the culture of a group. The word can thus be said to have a double meaning, which partly depends on whether it is used as a count noun or uncountable. The resulting field study or a case report reflects the knowledge and the system of meanings in the lives of a cultural group. The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho: Paulo Coelho's masterpiece tells the magical story of Santiago, an Andalusian shepherd boy who yearns to travel in search of a worldly treasure as extravagant as any ever found. Destructive Emotions: A Scientific Dialogue with the Dalai Lama: Imagine sitting with the Dalai Lama in his private meeting room with a small group of world-class scientists and philosophers. The talk is lively and fascinating as these leading minds grapple with age-old questions of compelling contemporary urgency. Daniel Goleman, the internationally bestselling author of Emotional Intelligence, provides the illuminating commentary—and reports on the breakthrough research this historic gathering inspired. The Californians:A soap opera parody featuring Fred Armisen, Bill Hader, Kristen Wiig, and others as wealthy blondes with Valley Girl accents (Valleyspeak) exaggerated almost to the point of incoherence. Each "episode" opens with the Soapnet logo with Bill Hader's voice-over announcement: "The Californians". The title sequence shows the pouring of a glass of white wine and some beach front property, with an acoustic guitar lick and chords that imitate America's "Ventura Highway" on the soundtrack. NYC vs. LA:A few years ago, I received a frantic call from a friend. For months he’d been mulling over whether to stay in New York or give acting a go in Los Angeles. “I love New York,” he said. “But I want to do more TV and film.” Smartphone zombie: A smartphone zombie is a pedestrian who walks slowly and without attention to their surroundings because they are focused upon their smartphone. This is now a significant safety hazard as distracted pedestrians cause accidents. Cities such as Chongqing and Antwerp have introduced special lanes for smartphone users to help direct and manage them. Limbic System: The limbic system is a set of brain structures located on both sides of the thalamus, immediately beneath the cerebrum. It has also been referred to as the paleomammalian cortex. It is not a separate system but a collection of structures from the telencephalon, diencephalon, and mesencephalon. It includes the olfactory bulbs, hippocampus, hypothalamus, amygdala, anterior thalamic nuclei, fornix, columns of fornix, mammillary body, septum pellucidum, habenular commissure, cingulate gyrus, parahippocampal gyrus, entorhinal cortex, and limbic midbrain areas. Sound In Space:You’ve heard it before: In space, no one can hear you scream. That’s because sound doesn’t move through a vacuum, and everyone knows that space is a vacuum. The thing is, that’s not completely true. The Orchard: As a pioneering music, film and TV distribution company and top-ranked video network, The Orchard has local reps in more than 30 global markets. From digital retailers and physical stores to performance rights societies and mobile outlets, our partnerships help amplify your reach and revenue across multiple business verticals. Tardigrade:Tardigrades (/ˈtɑːrdɪˌɡreɪd/; also known colloquially as water bears, or moss piglets) are a phylum of water-dwelling, eight-legged, segmented micro-animals. Cosmo Sheldrake - Tardigrade Song:Cosmo Sheldrake is a 28 year old multi-instrumentalist musician, composer and producer. He released his first single ‘The Moss’ in 2014, which was followed by the ‘Pelicans We’ EP in 2015. This April he will release his debut album ‘The Much Much How How and I’ on Transgressive Records. Much of his work is to do with play, nonsense and the sonorous environment. Sound and Light Differences:Sound you hear, light you see. Sound is a mechanical wave whereas light is an electromagnetic one. Light travels at 300.000.000 m/s meanwhile sound travels at 353 m/s. Light does not need a medium to travel to, sound does. They are both waves but only light is also a particle. Wave Particle Duality of Light:Wave–particle duality is the concept in quantum mechanics that every particle or quantic entity may be partly described in terms not only of particles, but also of waves. It expresses the inability of the classical concepts "particle" or "wave" to fully describe the behavior of quantum-scale objects. As Albert Einstein wrote: “It seems as though we must use sometimes the one theory and sometimes the other, while at times we may use either. We are faced with a new kind of difficulty. We have two contradictory pictures of reality; separately neither of them fully explains the phenomena of light, but together they do.” Using infrared light to help deaf people hear and blind people see:Normally, implants use electrical signals to help people hear and see. However, University of Utah bioengineer Richard Rabbitt has discovered a different way to activate cells. Rabbitt figured out how to use infrared light to send signals to the brain. Instead of using electrical signals, pulses of invisible wavelengths activate nearby nerve cells and communicate with the brain. What the Bleep do We know?: takes viewers on a journey to unlock the secrets of life. Follow Amanda (Academy Award-winner Marlee Matlin), a divorced, middle-aged woman who is thrust into a world where science and spirituality converge. As her entire concept of reality is challenged, yours will be too. See for yourself why this groundbreaking movie became one of the most compelling and talked about films of the last decade. Schrodinger's Cat:is a thought experiment, sometimes described as a paradox, devised by Austrian physicist Erwin Schrödinger in 1935. It illustrates what he saw as the problem of the Copenhagen interpretation of quantum mechanics applied to everyday objects. The scenario presents a cat that may be simultaneously both alive and dead, a state known as a quantum superposition, as a result of being linked to a random subatomic event that may or may not occur. The thought experiment is also often featured in theoretical discussions of the interpretations of quantum mechanics. Schrödinger coined the term Verschränkung (entanglement) in the course of developing the thought experiment. Free will:Free will is the ability to choose between different possible courses of action unimpeded. THE PHYSICS OF FREE WILL: “You’re playing a game of pool. You line up your cue stick behind the cue ball. You practice your stroke…one…two…three… On the fourth stroke, you follow through and the cue stick makes contact. If we could stop time in this moment, we could predict with reasonable certainty the outcome of your shot. The cue stick determines the path of the cue ball. The path of the cue ball determines if and how it will hit the target ball. How it hits the target ball determines the path of both, and whether either will reach a pocket.” Viking Funeral: Norse funerals, or the burial customs of Viking Age North Germanic Norsemen (early medieval Scandinavians), are known both from archaeology and from historical accounts such as the Icelandic sagas, Old Norse poetry, and probably from the account of Ahmad ibn Fadlan. The Book of Secrets: Unlocking the Hidden Dimensions of Your Life: Every life is a book of secrets, ready to be opened. The secret of perfect love is found there, along with the secrets of healing, compassion, faith, and the most elusive one of all: who we really are. We are still mysteries to ourselves, despite the proximity of these answers, and what we most long to know remains lodged deep inside. Gene p53: p53, also known as TP53 or tumor protein (EC :2.7.1.37) is a gene that codes for a protein that regulates the cell cycle and hence functions as a tumor suppression. It is very important for cells in multicellular organisms to suppress cancer. P53 has been described as "the guardian of the genome", referring to its role in conserving stability by preventing genome mutation (Strachan and Read, 1999). The name is due to its molecular mass: it is in the 53 kilodalton fraction of cell proteins. Lauren Turk See you Again Video:Concept by Lauren TurkDirected by James Bloniarz & Billy Ferguson / Lake Effect Films Generation Wealth: “Generation Wealth” is a multi-platform project that Lauren Greenfield has been working on since 2008, and is being released in 2017 as a museum exhibition, a photographic monograph, and a documentary film. Ascribe vs subscribe:Ascribe and subscribe are two words that are very similar in pronunciation and spelling, but have two different meanings. We’ll examine the difference between ascribe and subscribe, their meanings and origin. We’ll also look at a few examples of their use in sentences. Edward Bernais: Edward Louis Bernays (/bərˈneɪz/; German: [bɛɐ̯ˈnaɪs]; November 22, 1891 − March 9, 1995) was an Austrian-American pioneer in the field of public relations and propaganda, referred to in his obituary as "the father of public relations".[2] Bernays was named one of the 100 most influential Americans of the 20th century by Life. He was the subject of a full length biography by Larry Tye called The Father of Spin (1999) and later an award-winning 2002 documentary for the BBC by Adam Curtis called The Century of the Self. More recently, Bernays is noted as the great-uncle of Netflix co-founder, Marc Randolph. Whitney Houston Documentary: An in-depth look at the life and music of Whitney Houston. Won’t you be My Neighbor:An exploration of the life, lessons, and legacy of iconic children's television host, Fred Rogers. Luke's ENGLISH Podcast - Learn British English with Luke Thompson
LEP Premium is ready - www.teacherluke.co.uk/premium This is an announcement to let you know that LEP Premium is now ready to go. If you want to superpower your English into the 9th dimension, then you can get started by signing up for LEP Premium. Let me tell you about it. I’m about to upload some premium episodes into the app. They’ll also be available online if you don’t have the app - but the app is going to be the most convenient way to listen to these episodes in the normal way, when you’re out and about or when you’re at home studying. There will be about 3 episodes coming - probably already there by now, and then more episodes + bonuses every month after that. The way this works is that you’ll need to just create a profile online with my host, sign into the app with that profile and you’ll get access to all the premium episodes I’ve uploaded and am going to upload. www.teacherluke.co.uk/premium to get started. Then Get Access to Premium Episodes. Complete the details and get your login codes and then bob’s your uncle. In the app the login is in the settings menu. Make sure your version of the LEP app is updated. Check the PREMIUM category and that’s where you’ll find the episodes. There will be episodes coming regularly and I’ll also upload other things for premium subscribers, including pdfs, shorter episodes, phrasal verbs and videos. There will be quite a lot of content for the premium subscribers - in the app and online. Yep - you will also have to pay for the premium episodes, but it will be a small amount - just a few dollars - like the price of a coffee, and finally this is a way for me to monetise my online work, and for you to support this whole project. PREMIUM DEAL All the usual episodes of LEP, sometimes with bonuses if you’re using the app, (obviously). Minimum 2 premium episodes per month (MINIMUM - probably more) + various bonuses Premium episodes will be primarily focused on teaching you language. Helping you to develop your vocabulary, grammar and pronunciation with a special interest in looking at how English really sounds vs how it is written. It’s all about decoding language, helping you realise how it really sounds as well as how it is structured. Pdfs with transcripts, vocab lists and notes for each P episode - available in the app or downloadable online. More phrasal verb episodes - New ones :) Video versions of LEP Episodes sometimes (not every single episode, but when possible) Invitations to live YouTube streaming events - e.g. live podcast recordings or online workshops & Q&A sessions - only for premium subscribers (arrange a date, tell them you’ll send the email 30 mins before the live stream, set up the live stream as unlisted, send the email with link, start) All content in the app and online So the podcast will continue as normal with normal episodes being free, but premium subscribers can access all this other stuff too. Premium Episode content Every premium episode will primarily be about teaching language to you. Grammar, vocab or pron. Episodes will be either: Language Reviews focusing on English which has come up naturally in normal episodes of LEP (e.g. unpacking the grammar, vocab or pron in conversations or monologues). Learn real English as it is spoken by my friends and guests. Language Lessons focusing on grammar, vocab or pronunciation (similar to recent grammar lessons). I’ll pick useful, important or requested areas of language and analyse + explain them in proper detail. You might think - what’s the difference between premium and normal? Normal LEP episodes can be divided into 2 functions: To give you listening practice. Exposure to plenty of spoken English is vital for developing proper English skills. Listen a lot and you learn language as a consequence. Sometimes I explain things as I go in order to help make things clear and because as a teacher for over 16 years, I’m always teaching you language, even if that’s not the primary aim of the episode. The primary aim of episodes like this is to explain a topic to you, to teach you about culture, tell you stories, make you laugh, interview people and generally encourage you to listen to English as it is spoken naturally. Language learning happens as a consequence, and you can push it further and more effectively by using the transcripts and notes that I publish free on my website. To teach you language directly, rather than just giving you listening practice. I pick certain language points and explain them explicitly with definitions and made up examples. Or I pick out language that has come up in conversation and teach it back to you, helping you to notice features of natural speech. I’ve been teaching English for over 16 years. I’m well-qualified and experienced. I have a particular set of skills for teaching. I can use those skills to explain, define and demonstrate aspects of English directly to help you learn directly. This is about focusing on language from the bottom up. Putting it simply, Type 1 = topic episodes. Type 2 = language episodes. Most episodes deal with the first option, with a bit of the second option thrown in too. E.g. the recent episodes with Andy or other conversations in which I explain the vocab and language afterwards. Some episodes deal with the second option, with a bit of 1 thrown in. E.g. language focused episodes, like the recent Grammar Questions, or ones about phrases with GET or plenty of episodes in the archive in which I teach idioms, verb tenses, connected speech, etc. Type 2 episodes often take a long time to prepare. They also involve me using professional skills that at this point in my career should come with a fee Premium episodes will primarily be type 2 episodes. I’ve decided that I need to try and monetise some of my podcast work. I’ve been doing it for 9 years. This April was the 9 year anniversary of LEP. Doing the podcast is my part-time job. I teach at the BC and I do my podcast. I really want to continue doing it, I want to support your English, but I also need to support my family! I think you understand. I want the podcast to remain free, and that will happen. Normal episodes of LEP will still be free. There might be slightly less of them, but so be it. But they will be free. If you want to support LEP after all these years you can by becoming a premium member and you’ll get a bunch of serious bonus content too. Jack I remember listening to the pink gorilla episode about a year ago and during the episode you said "OK, never mind". Same thing happened again and when it happened the second time I thought : Why does King say "OK, never mind" why doesn't he just say "OK" ? What does "never mind" mean? And that curiosity led me to google and that's how I learned that word :) So with LEP Premium episodes you are essentially explaining the listeners all the language without them having to do any hard work :P they just have to listen to that episode everyday until it clicks. Your vocabulary is going to get so good This is a double whammy of just absorbing English through exposure and having things carefully pointed out and clarified, explained How do teachers choose what English to teach you? It’s based on general corpora of English. With this method the corpora is LEP. Learn the English you hear on the podcast. So, not only will you be hearing a lot of vocabulary just coming up naturally in context in normal episodes (which is a really solid way to build awareness of English into your life steadily, bit by bit) but also you’ll regularly have things clarified and taught to you by me afterwards. I think it should be a powerful combination of natural exposure to English in full context and also good old fashioned language teaching from me - all based on the same language. I think to get this full LEP experience you’ll need to be a premium subscriber. It’ll also help you to understand and appreciate the normal episodes of the podcast that much more. For example, imagine hearing a conversation with Amber & Paul - you might enjoy it because of the fun vibe we have between us, but there’s bound to be loads of things you’ll miss. Then you can hear a premium episode which clarifies so much of what we said. You could then go back and listen to the original episode again, armed with so much more understanding - you’d understand much much more of it and as a result a lot of that language is going to stick with you. It’s the ideal combination I reckon. Also, your grammar is going to get more and more solid as I will make a point of highlighting features of grammar, as well as vocabulary as we go. LEPP episodes won’t just be about explaining vocab and grammar you’ve heard. Some episodes will be lessons that just focus on important bits of language that you need to know anyway, even if they haven’t come up specifically in other episodes. It’s all about language - raising awareness, raising your understanding, improving your accuracy so you avoid common errors, making you more confident with the language but not in an abstract way - in a way that connects it to how the language is actually used and has actually been used in conversations you’ve already heard on the podcast. That’s the thinking behind LEP Premium. I hope you jump on for the ride. Now, there are 3 premium episodes recorded and ready to go and they’ll be available to you almost immediately. Remember, they’ll be in the LEP App in the premium category, and on the LEP Premium page at teacherluke.co.uk/premium That’s where you’ll find the episodes and you’ll be able to get the pdfs in those places too. Use the website teacherluke.co.uk/premium to set up your premium profile with a login code and password. This April we'll be showered with more misguided student walkouts and other "teen-led" gun control activism displays. Shortly after releasing Podcast #552: #ENOUGH – With Thaddeus Russell I received an email from a public school teacher who wished to remain anonymous. Hi Brett, I am an elementary school teacher and a relatively new listener to your show. When the School Walkout happened, I was compelled to write about it. Then, I heard your latest episode with Thad Russell! Many of the thoughts you shared are also echoed in my piece. Perhaps I am preaching to the choir here, but I would like to share my perspective anonymously somehow. Do you have any interest in accepting a written submission? Please see attached and let me know either way. If not, is there anyone else you recommend whom I could direct my submission to? Thank you for your time and consideration, and for the wonderful forum you've created through School Sucks. Best, Concerned Teacher The Making of a Mindless Movement There are no words to repair the tragic loss of innocent lives. In the wake of the Parkland massacre, parents are left bereaved and outraged, continuing to fear for children’s safety. As an elementary school teacher, parents entrust their children to me on a daily basis. There is nothing I take more seriously than my duty to protect the children I work with. I can’t imagine the sadness and anger those affected by the Parkland shooting must be experiencing. No child, parent, or teacher should ever have to experience such horror and pain. From #ENOUGH, to last weekend’s March for Our Lives, and an upcoming National School Walkout commemorating those killed at Columbine 19 years ago this April, we are experiencing an unprecedented wave of youth activism across the nation. With crowd estimates of at least 1.2 million people across the country, the turnout on March 24 made March for our Lives perhaps the largest single-day protest that the capital city has ever seen. I can’t claim to know how these events have been orchestrated. If they are in fact due to the true leadership and coordination of students, that is commendable. However, I also cannot deny the reality that there are always politicians and media sources waiting to seize opportunities like this in order to build momentum behind their initiatives. The exploitation of people’s emotions is an age-old strategy used to secure the support of new voters. The timely and skillful organization of select groups, aided by social media and a culture that glorifies activism, has produced a formidable new generation of change-makers. For better or worse, these well-financed iGen activists will pledge their votes to anyone who will appeal to their cries of outrage. This generation coming up – unselfish, altruistic, creative, patriotic – I've seen you in every corner of the country. You believe in a fair, just, inclusive America; you know that constant change has been America's hallmark, something not to fear but to embrace, and you are willing to carry this hard work of democracy forward. You'll soon outnumber any of us, and I believe as a result that the future is in good hands. ― Obama, 2017 Change is a necessary element of progress, and people must always speak out to challenge the authority that threatens their freedom. The fact that school safety is compromised by incidents of mass violence is enough to warrant a call to action. But safety should not be confused with freedom, and the means we use to achieve safety should be carefully weighed. Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety. ― Benjamin Franklin Administrators at my school claimed that these movements are simply comprised of children advocating for their own safety, and that safety is not a political issue. Though school safety itself may not be political, the new legislative measures that protestors are demanding certainly are. According to the mission of Women’s March Youth Empower, the March 14 Walkout was planned in protest of congress’ “inaction” in response to school shootings. It was a clear call for gun reform. How is this not political? I am sure there are other teachers out there like myself, experiencing increasingly politicized staff meetings where only one viewpoint is accepted. This is unfortunately now a common workplace characteristic due to the deep divide that reactionary politics has produced. I am tired of the attitude that there is no other side to the issue of gun control displayed by those who let their personal moral indignation color their interpretation of our Constitution. Yet I sit there quietly and listen to colleagues who can’t see beyond their fear and outrage. As faculty, we discussed how to approach the March 14 Walkout in an apolitical way. The walkout was carefully reframed as an event in the spirit of safety and student empowerment. The objectives of the movement were left purposefully unarticulated, as students exited campus on March 14 in ‘solidarity’ with youth across the nation. With cameras flashing, photographers from major media sources arrived to capture our youngest protestors, some as young as five years old, knowing their printed faces in tomorrow’s paper would tug at the heartstrings of many. As I watched the event unfold, I witnessed how the idea of ‘gun control’ became equated with ‘school safety.’ Popular thinking was quickly reduced to the following train of thought – If you care at all about the safety of children, you must also care about gun control. Once the words we whispered came out of the mouths of the babes, this logical fallacy was accepted as pure wisdom. But it’s Just ‘Common Sense’ I don’t think that gun control is the answer, but this does not mean that I am heartless as I’ve been accused. Of course, I think mass shootings are horrific and I wish they never happened. The question is not whether mass shootings are a problem, but what course of action should be taken in response. If I don’t support gun control, you might ask, what then is my alternative solution? While it might seem unacceptable to ‘do nothing’ in the midst of such tragedy, to me the emotionally charged reactions of gun control advocates who are ready to degrade the 2nd Amendment is equally troubling. For young people to jump on the bandwagon in protest, with little thought given to the efficacy of their proposed policies is dangerous. A quick peek at history reveals that at times there are unintended consequences to the changes we demand, when efforts to promote peace and security have paved the path to tyrannical outcomes. To say that gun safety laws are just ‘common sense’ is an arrogant way to avoid the responsibility of defending your claim. Gun control advocates tend to evade certain statistics that weaken their argument. But if you are old enough to make an argument, your argument deserves to be challenged. It’s hard to defend an argument you can’t articulate; I doubt the elementary students who walked out were fully aware of the terms they were advocating for through their act of civil disobedience. No matter your age, I caution those who rush to embrace political action without careful consideration of the multiple factors contributing to the problems they seek to solve. School violence is a complicated issue. Statistics can always be used to support opposing sides of the argument. Achieving school safety does not necessarily require legislative change. It requires conversation, and yet the conversations sparked so far remain entirely one-sided. Many of us on both sides of the gun debate are guilty of confirmation bias – we have already come to our conclusions, and cling only to information that supports our own opinion, filtering out the opposition. Can we at least agree that the efficacy of so-called ‘common sense’ gun safety laws is up for debate? To end this statistical tug-of-war, a sense of intellectual humility and historical understanding is imperative. Without critical thinking, an individual has little basis upon which to form a valid opinion on the correct course of action for the future. How can young people strive to make meaningful change if they don’t understand why things are the way they are to begin with? How can we decipher what is worthy of preserving, and what’s worthy of change? Adults should not be lionizing youth solely because they are pushing for change, especially when such lack of logic has given root to the demands in place. Progressivism and Propaganda I detest the way that children have been used as pawns for political protest. To capitalize on a tragic event like the Parkland shooting and manipulate young people’s emotions for a political cause is absolutely disgusting. Since the progressive movement in education, youth have been idealized as agents of change who possess the powers to solve society’s most profound problems. But youth are also highly impressionable, and there is a fine line between promoting activism and indoctrination. It seems that a culture of activism is being encouraged to a younger and younger crowd each year. I cringe every time see a toddler hold a picket sign, or hear a Kindergartner parrot an adult opinion about an issue they don’t fully comprehend. Recent events have illuminated the ways in which progressive methods of education effectively prime children for democratic citizenship. One of the primary goals of progressive schooling is to give students the experience of participating within a democratic community. Heavily influenced by the Prussian model of schooling, John Dewey, known as ‘the father of progressive education,’ wanted to produce an optimal citizenry in order to achieve his utopian visions of a unified nation. Rather than teaching blind obedience to authority, however, Dewey found a gentler way to mold school-age children into good citizens. His emphasis on socialization and student choice over academics was used to construct a strong sense of collective identity and an illusion of empowerment. By giving students an impression of autonomy, progressive education provided a more humane way of transforming children into ill-informed robots; it has become one of the most successful methods of programming the next generation to carry out the agenda of the intellectuals who lead them. Interestingly, around the same time that progressive education was gaining foothold in the American school system, the field of Public Relations was born. Edward Bernays, later referred to as ‘the father of public relations,’ justified the use of propaganda which he felt was necessary to direct social progress. This responsibility fell into the hands of trained propagandists like himself, who could shape the minds of the masses without them being conscious of having been manipulated. Like Dewey, Bernays’ tactics gave individuals the impression that they were making autonomous decisions, while in fact they were being controlled by “invisible strings” designed to pull their thought in predetermined ways. In the opening chapter of Propaganda (1928), he writes: The conscious and intelligent manipulation of the organized habits and opinions of the masses is an important element in democratic society. Those who manipulate this unseen mechanism of society constitute an invisible government which is the true ruling power of our country. The organized interplay of the media and education in order to promote desired outcomes is further described in Propoganda. As Bernays states: Universal literacy was supposed to educate the common man to control his environment. Once he could read and write he would have a mind fit to rule. But instead of a mind, universal literacy has given him rubber stamps, rubber stamps inked with advertising slogans, with editorials, with published scientific data, with the trivialities of the tabloids and the platitudes of history, but quite innocent of original thought. Each man’s rubber stamps are the duplicates of millions of others, so that when those millions are exposed to the same stimuli, all receive identical imprints. It may seem an exaggeration today that the American public gets most of its ideas in this wholesale fashion. The mechanism by which ideas are disseminated on a large scale is propaganda, in the broad sense of an organized effort to spread a particular belief or doctrine. (p. 48) When I see today’s youth lining up to march for gun control, I don’t see it as an example of empowerment. I see it as the propagandist’s ploy. The use of children for political purpose is not a new tactic. With great pride, many refer to the “courageous activism” of children in the Birmingham Children’s Crusade of 1963. Rather than a voluntary act of civil disobedience however, the Children’s Crusade was the product of a strategic recruitment campaign during a time when adult activism was on the wane. Recently arrested, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and the Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC) were searching for new ways to garner momentum for the desegregation movement. SCLC leader James Bevel suggested that children be asked to participate, since they had “less to lose” than adults who feared loss of employment. Thousands of children were recruited for upcoming demonstrations and trained in methods of non-violent resistance. Though the children remained peaceful, they were attacked with hoses, batons, and police dogs. Although King faced criticism for putting “children on the firing line,” the Children’s Crusade of 1963 was considered a crucial turning point in the Civil Rights movement. Ultimately, it was the media’s attention to the bravery of Birmingham youth that pressured city leaders to cave in to their demands. While I join others in celebrating the result of the Children’s Crusade and applaud the perseverance of the young people involved in this movement, I do not condone the means employed to achieve this victory. Regardless of your position on gun control, I call into question the way in which children are being used to achieve a desired political outcome. I admonish those who have latched onto cheap slogans and suddenly find the idea that the NRA has nothing to do with school safety inflammatory. But most of all I abhor the unbearable climate we have created - in which the Overton window is so narrow that teachers like myself - who also advocate for children’s rights, for their safety, and for their freedom – must refrain from speaking lest they wish to throw their livelihood out the window. Take this as my first step to break the silence in our school halls. Aired Tuesday, 13 February 2018, 5:00 PM ESTEngaging the Other - Finding TRUE Common Ground in the Age of PolarizationA Conversation With Steve Olweean, Director Common Bond Institute“Before we have peace in the Middle East, we first need to create peace in the Middle West.” — Swami BeyondanandaMy colleague Bruce Lipton, cellular biologist, tells us that the next phase of human evolution is an evolution in consciousness, where we recognize that we are each and all cells in the larger body of humanity. If that is true, it’s easy to see how so much of our resource and intention is tied up in obsolete and “obsolethal” forms of interactivity that can best be seen as autoimmune disease. After all, when healthy humans on two sides of an issue spend their time and energy in combat, two things happen. First, warfare endangers not just the lives of those engaged in the conflict, but life on the planet. Secondly, precious energy and resources that could be used to work together is being dissipated and wasted. That’s why last weekend’s Unrig the System Summit in New Orleans was so encouraging … 1,500 “proactivists” (i.e., proactively moving forward as an alternative to reactively resisting) who get what Bruce and I concluded in Spontaneous Evolution — that the Darwinian notion of “survival of the fittest” has now proven to be “thrival of the fittingest.” Those who cooperate, survive and thrive.Indeed, this evolutionary upwising is well on its way, even if we don’t see it on the news. Our guest this week, Steve Olweean from the Common Bond Institute is a therapist who has spent the past 35 years in community mental health, serving underserved populations, specializing in trauma and abuse recovery, victim/perpetrator dynamics, crisis intervention, dissociative disorders, and healing negative belief systems. Since 2001, he has focused on creating cross-cultural dialogue both here and abroad to create mutual trust and understanding between Muslim and non-Muslim populations. This April, the Common Bond Institute under Steve’s direction will be holding its 8th annual Engaging the Other conference in Madison, Wisconsin. It is described as an interactive, working conference to:* Address rising polarization and animosity in our society * Advance a wider public dialogue about toxic images of “Us and Them,” * and Promote positive joint action for compassionate remedies and healing in our relationship with a perceived “Other.”Our conversation this week will focus on both the opportunities and challenges in “engaging the other”, and will focus his experiences both in the Middle East … and the Middle West. He writes: “The Other often conjures up images of strange faces, practices, and beliefs, usually in faraway places. At the same time that it challenges our understanding, our sense of normalcy, and sometimes our sense of security, it is a label we all share.”In other words, we are each an “other” to each other.Tune in this Tuesday, February 13th and find out how such “living laboratories” can unleash “the speed of trust” and turn conflict into collaboration.
Chris Broussard, Fox Sports Analyst by profession and a Disciple of Christ by creation, shares his walk with Christ and evokes a powerful word for us all. Chris’ first glimpse of the personal relationship you can have with Christ started when he heard this young woman, now his wife, in college praying like Jesus was right there with her. Chris knew being a follower of Christ was the right thing to do, but he did not want to accept the life. College was fun, and the American dream was right by his side. How can we fill this void for our life, besides Christianity? We have to repent for our sins, for what we’ve done, we have to accept that we’ve been living in sin. What race are you running and who do you want to run the race with? You do not have to get stuck in with living in the instant gratification, the sex, smoking, drinking, and partying scene. It comes with baggage down the road! You can skip that, what culture is telling you, it’s always worth it. BE BOLD. Chris is the president of the KING Movement, an organization that wants to strengthen men in their daily walks with Christ. This April, the KING Movement is holding their national summit in Memphis, TN ( www.kingmovement.com). Tune in to listen to this message and leave a review if you enjoy what you are hearing!

This April new legislation comes into effect that requires organisations of more than 250 employees to gather data and report publically on their gender pay gap. These regulations come five years after the Government’s Think, Act, Report initiative aimed at encouraging voluntary transparency around equal pay in organisations. Today, however, despite such efforts, women working in the UK are paid on average 18% less than men and there is still a widely recognised under-representation of women in senior leadership positions. The new gender pay gap reporting legislation aims to drive change by highlighting these issues and encouraging organisations to both understand their own pay gap and to work to improve it. In this episode we talk to Sheila Wild, Equal Pay Portal, and Ben Willmott, Head of Policy at CIPD, about what the legislation is demanding of employers and the impact it could have on organisations and employees, as well as the practical considerations for HR professionals.
Loosely speaking, there are two kinds of fear. There's the fear of external, objective hazards--like getting caught in an avalanche, or taking a bad fall climbing or getting mauled by a grizzly bear. Then, there's the internal, more slippery kind of fear, like the fear of not being pretty enough, or not being popular enough or not being perfect enough. When Kat Cannell embarked on a 350-mile, solo horse-packing trip through the mountains of Idaho and Montana, across snowy mountain passes and through a large swath of grizzly bear country, she had to confront both kinds of fears. She realized that maybe conquering the fear of having a head on with a grizzly and conquering the fear of not being pretty enough really isn't all that different. This April, Kat and activist Katelyn Spradley plan to ride 900-miles from the Washington Coast to Redfish Lake, Idaho, following the path of Idaho's wild salmon up the Columbia, Snake and Salmon Rivers to their spawning grounds in the Sawtooth Basin. Learn more at RideforRedd.org, or follow the trip on Facebook or Instagram.
This April will be the second anniversary of my first sale. Over this time, I have learned a lot that has helped me grow in my prices. Hopefully, my experiences will provide some insight for you in your business.
Because the weather has been miserable with near-record days of rain, we’ve seen fewer showings than we did earlier in the spring. Hang in there though, because **we’ve still got plenty of buyers and low inventory. ** Compared to last April, both sales and units sold were up 8.99% and 6.6%, respectively. The average for days on market dropped from 53 to 51. This April compared to last April, the number of new listings was down. Additionally, closed sales this April shot up 24.7% from the month before. In Loudoun county, the number of units sold fell 1.42%, but the average for days on market improved to 49 days this year from 68 last year. Nationally, home prices are up 6%, and up 2.6% compared to last year. “HOMEOWNERSHIP IS A GREAT INVESTMENT, BOTH FINANCIALLY AND EMOTIONALLY.” Looking ahead to future projections, waiting until next year could cost you almost $200 more in your mortgage payment. This proves why homeownership is a great investment both financially and emotionally. Harvard University’s Joint Center of Housing Studies recently released a study showing the top reasons why. Financial Reasons: Financially, housing is typically the one leveraged investment available, because you’re paying for housing, whether you own or rent. Housing is usually a form of forced saving. There are tax benefits to owning. Owning is a hedge against inflation. **Emotional Reasons: ** Owning a home is a good way to build wealth that can be passed along to your family. You have an actual structure providing space and safety for your family. You have control over your space, like renovations or updates. Owning a home provides a place to raise children and give them a good education. Although rates are still low, waiting to buy could be costly for your monthly mortgage payment. "Since deploying our AI servers last April, our focus has been on creating the highest level of backup and redundancy. This includes backup servers, backup firewalls and backed up data. "To us, backing up people seemed like the natural next step. We had the double vision to do this and it's increased our efficiency twofold." U Klone Fast technology was designed and created in house by the company's RnD team who are said to be seeing double after its implementation. The firm's CEO, Lawrence Jones MBE, today announced: "We're incredibly proud to say that with our U Klone Fast technology, we have managed to made over two hundred employees redundant. "Much like our twinned servers, there is now always one employee on standby. If one slows down or stops working, a seamless failover to the backup employee will occur instantaneously. "With U Klone Fast technology we can now share the benefits of 0% staff downtime with everyone." This time of year regularly holds fresh innovation for the fast-growing firm, with 2013 seeing them create Blipvertology training technique as well as last year's launch of artificial intelligence servers.

This April marks the 46th anniversary of the assassination of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. So much of it is tied to gun control and how people perceive it. I try to take you back to that time and share a new project I am starting to get my concealed carry permit. I watched True Grit this week and it just motivated the heck out of me to stay the course, even if I am a fat old man now. Shout out to Nikki Turpeaux of ArchAngeltactical.com and others. Thank you for sharing this podcast.
Episode #64 - London, England - 4/19/11 Keith Smith the "Crusader Raider" visits Oakland annually to see his favorite American football team the Oakland Raiders play. This April 2011 my wife Lisa and I (Randy) were fortunate enough to be able to visit Keith in his home town of London. Keith and Big Dave Chapman (also a die-hard Raiders fan) showed us a great time for the four days we were there. In the first part of the video, Keith chatted with fellow English Raider fans Raider Nik and Big Dave Chapman. We also had the opportunity to attend an "English Football" game featuring Keith and Dave's favorite English football team, Leyton Orient. We had a great time, even getting to go into the team locker room prior to the game. We were shaking hands with the team and chatting with them as the coach came in to give them their final plans for the game. We show you some video of Keith interviewing a few Raider fans inside the stadium just before the start of the game. Keith chats with Adam, Les, Keith's daughter Kellie and Big Dave's brother Richard. After Leyton Orient won this match by a score of 2 to 1, we had a great time having a few drinks in the Leyton Orient "Supporters Club"...even the team captain had a pint with us! He agreed to become a member of the Raider Nation, so we'll be getting some Raiders gear over to him. Our London adventure will be continued on our next videocast, Episode #65, where we will have more interviews with English Raider fans and continue the postgame celebration.
