The Rich Zeoli Show- Hour 2: 4:00pm- Kamala Harris Stumbles Through Friendly Interview with MSNBC. On Wednesday night, Democratic presidential candidate sat down for a solo interview with MSNBC's Stephanie Ruhle. While appearing on HBO's Real Time recently, Ruhle revealed she'll be voting for Harris and believes Donald Trump is unfit to serve. Despite the friendly questions, Harris struggled throughout—at one point bizarrely repeating the term “holistically.” How bad was Harris's performance? Even The New York Times accused her of having “round about answers to open-ended questions” and concluded that she is yet to partake in a hard-hitting interview. 4:15pm- Dave McCormick— Republican Candidate for U.S. Senate in Pennsylvania & former Under Secretary of the Treasury for International Affairs during the George W. Bush Administration—joins The Rich Zeoli Show to discuss his ongoing campaign throughout Pennsylvania, receiving an endorsement from Philadelphia Firefighters' & Paramedics' Union Local 22, and his recent op-ed in The New York Post, “Falling down on antisemitism is another grim example of Sen. Bob Casey's lame ‘leadership.'” You can read McCormick's editorial here: https://nypost.com/2024/09/22/opinion/falling-down-on-antisemitism-is-another-grim-example-of-sen-bob-caseys-lame-leadership/. You can learn more about his campaign here: https://www.davemccormickpa.com 4:40pm- On Thursday, Donald Trump held a press conference from Trump Tower in New York City—calling out Kamala Harris for failing to fix the U.S. Southern border as Vice President. If she wants to crackdown on illegal migration, why doesn't she just do it now while she's in office?
The Rich Zeoli Show- Full Episode (09/26/2024): 3:05pm- New York City Mayor Eric Adams has been indicted on multiple federal charges, including wire fraud, bribery, and solicitation of a contribution by a foreign national. During a press conference on Thursday, U.S. Attorney in Manhattan Damian Williams summarized the 57-page indictment and alleged that Adams received roughly $100,000 in money, campaign contributions, first class flights, and hotel accommodations from Turkish government officials and businesses in exchange for political favors. 3:10pm- In December of 2023, New York City Mayor Eric Adams publicly criticized the Biden Administration's failed immigration policy. Is the federal indictment case brought against him revenge for that criticism? White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said that the Department of Justice operates independently from the White House. 3:30pm- Paul Pelosi Unloads $500k of Visa Stock…Right Before DOJ's Anti-Trust Lawsuit. Ariel Zilber of The New York Post writes: “Nancy Pelosi's husband unloaded more than $500,000 worth of Visa stock—less than three months before the credit card giant was slapped with federal antitrust charges, public documents show. Visa was hit with a lawsuit on Tuesday that alleged the company has illegally monopolized the debit card market—the culmination of a years-long review conducted by the Justice Department's antitrust unit…Meanwhile, Christopher Josephs, the tech entrepreneur who runs the ‘Nancy Pelosi Stock Tracker' on X, posted a screenshot of a congressional filing on July 3 which showed that the former House speaker's husband, Paul Pelosi, had sold 2,000 shares of Visa worth between $500,000 and $1 million.” You can read the full article here: https://nypost.com/2024/09/24/business/nancy-pelosis-husband-sold-500k-in-visa-stock-before-dojs-antitrust-suit/ 3:40pm- House Investigating If Zelensky Trip Was Intended To Benefit Kamala Campaign. Haley Strack of National Review reports: “Republicans on the House Oversight Committee launched an investigation on Wednesday to determine if the Biden administration misused taxpayer dollars to fly Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to the U.S. to benefit Kamala Harris's presidential campaign. In letters to top Biden administration officials, committee chairman James Comer wrote that then-president Donald Trump faced similar accusations from Democrats in 2019 of trying to use Zelensky to benefit his campaign ‘despite a lack of any evidence of wrongdoing. Now, the Biden-Harris Administration is flying the same foreign leader on an American-taxpayer-funded flight to Pennsylvania, a battleground state for Harris's campaign,' Comer wrote.” You can read the full article here: https://www.nationalreview.com/news/house-investigating-if-zelensky-trip-scheduled-to-benefit-kamala-harris-campaign/ The Rich Zeoli Show- Hour 2: 4:00pm- Kamala Harris Stumbles Through Friendly Interview with MSNBC. It's Hump Day! Sam hosts Patrick Rucker, finance reporter for The Capitol Forum and contributor at ProPublica, to discuss his recent piece entitled "How Cigna Saves Millions by Having Its Doctors Reject Claims Without Reading Them". Then, he's joined by percussionist Andy Blanco with the Musician's Union Local 802, to discuss their recent organizing efforts against Distinguished Concerts International New York (DCINY). First, Sam runs through updates on Fox settling their dominion case, the Supreme Court's response to the Mifepristone hold, Canadian labor action, Clarence Thomas' corruption, DeSantis' visit to Washington, and Iowa advancing children's right to work, before diving into coverage of Fox's settlement, and the extant cases they still face. Patrick Rucker then dives right into his discovery of Cigna's scam, walking through the statistics of the inhumane pace at which their doctors would reject insurance claims, and the outrageous quantity of rejections that this has led to, with no substantive reason behind a vast majority of said rejections. After tackling the parallels with the banking sector's Robo-signing scandal and the breadth of the impact of this brand of corruption, Sam and Patrick wrap up by discussing the “legality” of Cigna's malpractice, how to push back against it, and whether the other insurance companies have already jumped on board with their tactics. Andy Blanco and Sam then parse through Local 802's role in the New York concert world and the exploitation they face, before looking at the impact of COVID on their labor situation, and how DCINY forced them into filing unfair labor practice claims. Wrapping up, they tackle the union's demands, and how we can help them in their fight. And in the Fun Half: Sam discusses the GOP's insistence on making Hunter Biden's D*ck Pics a story, Oscar from Compton discusses local disputes with firefighters, Michelle in Brooklyn tackles the exportation of labor overseas, and John from Indiana calls in about last week's Twitter drama. Sam and Bradley also touch on Floridian politics, with parents fighting back against theocratic rule while DeSantis goes to war with Disney, Ethan Schmidt makes a fool of himself, and Jasmin from Texas dives into corrupt election legislation, plus, your calls and IMs! #Quotes about change: "Clean up the stuff you've kept stuffed down. Then, do the soul work."Darla Deguire is the founder and owner of Cedar & Sage Boutique Retreats – a far distance from her first job as a Clerk for SGI in auto insurance claims.Working for SGI, Darla began her journey through the labour movement where she was President of the Union Local and eventually worked 17 years for the Canadian Labour Congress. She had a senior position and was well-respected with lots of responsibility. But, she started to see that she didn't like how she was showing up in the world – as Darla puts it – she was misaligned with herself and her purpose. So she listened to her inner voice and did a 360 review of herself. She looked in the mirror, read books, and built a new community. She realized that she had to get rid of the labels she gave herself because lasting change starts from within.

A conversation about the struggle against neoliberalism in higher education with leading voices from the front lines. ———————————————— Higher education has been transformed over the last several decades. State funding has been dramatically reduced, tuition fees have exponentially increased, tenure track jobs have been replaced with adjuncts and graduate students, and staff have laid off and those that remain forced to work longer and harder for less, The pandemic and recession have triggered an enormous crisis in this neoliberal model of higher education, putting not only jobs but entire institutions in jeopardy. This panel, organized by Spectre Journal, will address how faculty, staff and graduate students can organize and defend their jobs, programs, and higher education in the US. ———————————————— Panelists: Tithi Bhattacharya is a professor of South Asian History and the Director of Global Studies at Purdue University. Hello, My name is Adrianne Bernadette, a Clinical Hypnotherapist with the Hypnotherapist's Union Local 472 and a member of the American Hypnosis Association. I utilize Hypnosis, Prayer, Meditation as well as other Holistic healing modalities to recreate emotional balance for a fulfilled life. I believe the natural healing properties of your mind, body and spirit, create emotional wellness, a form of healing that considers the whole person-body, mind, spirit ,and emotions for optimal health and wellness. Whether it is the achievement of a personal improvement goal or the urgent need to find a healthy more fulfilling life path, the therapeutic use of hypnosis, imagery and mindfulness is the most powerful resource known to comfortably and efficiently assist you in achieving your goals. In 2017 I received my B.A. in Psychology from the Union University & Institute, at the same time I was studying and training at the Hypnosis Motivation Institute located in Tarzana, California, a Nationally Accredited Hypnosis training College and Clinic for Hypnotherapy. During my clinical hypnotherapy internship, I worked with the Director and key Senior staff members who lead me in combining everything I had learned on my own path in combination with the clinical hypnotherapy skills and certifications I had acquired. In 2013 MBUSD and Community Matters introduced The Safe School Ambassadors® Program, the nation’s most effective student-led bullying prevention program where I became a trained family facilitator representative for two years. In 2016 I was humbled by the bravery of young children who experienced death, as a volunteer for The Gathering Place, an extension of Little Company Mary Hospital in Torrance, California. Staffed by licensed professionals, graduate-level mental health interns and trained volunteers, I will never forget the focus support groups that specialized in bereavement services for adults, teens and children. The mission to encourage healing, health, strength and confidence in those who have experienced death. It was the hypnotherapy that helped me discover and more importantly access the powers of the subconscious mind, One by one, from personal goals and habits to deeper issues of self-love and prosperity vs scarcity beliefs, hypnotherapy delivered what felt to me, an organic, rapid, yet comfortable path to the life goals and purpose I was seeking. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/thriving-in-chaos/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/thriving-in-chaos/support
Don't you just hate it when you get stranded in the woods by a freak acid spore storm, and you have to deal with your annoying hologram mentor who has lost all of her memories? Well, at least some juicy character drama would probably come out of it. This week Nero and Jane look at the excellent bottle episode 'Protocol', which gives the Horde Cadets a starring role and makes it painfully clear that they REALLY need a union. Also, we don't know how to delete the spiders. Send help.

Welcome to the Back to School Edition of Hometown to Hollywood! Today my guest on this podcast is Cheryl Diamond. Cheryl is a certified Studio Teacher/Welfare Worker in the state of California and teaches young actors on set. She’s also the President of the Union Local 884, which represents studio teachers. Educating young actors can be a challenge, because their commitments to work and auditions often compete with regular school hours. Certified Studio Teachers in California are in charge of not only educating young actors on set, but also ensuring their safety and wellbeing. In this episode, Cheryl shares some of the benefits and challenges of learning on set, how studio teachers coordinate with a young actor’s school, the relationship of work permits and grades, some of the laws protecting minor actors, safeguards that are in place to keep kids safe on set, her thoughts on the CHSPE, and much more. This conversation is a must-listen for parents of young actors as well as any actor under 18. And it’s an important listen for anyone who expects to work with young actors on set—which is almost anyone in the entertainment industry, as child actors work in nearly every TV show and movie! Listen to the first 10 minutes here for free, or become a Friend of the Podcast for access to the full interview, as well as access to the entire collection of over 100 other inspiring and educational episodes designed to help you succeed in the entertainment industry. Your support allows me to continue to do the work that supports you, and the dreams of your child, or even your own dreams. Thank you! Some of my favorite quotes from our conversation: “Studio teachers have to be credentialed in both elementary and secondary.” “I’ve worked on a number of Disney shows and loved them all, but my heart goes to Jessie.” “My students become my kids.” “When they come to set and they’re prepared with their lines and their character, & they still have academic work… I’m always amazed at how they do that.” “We can focus on academics with one-to-one, personalized attention.” “The key is communication.” “I try to make learning as much fun as possible.” “I can’t think of one young actor I’ve worked with for a period of time who I didn’t adore.” “The CHSPE is a double-edged sword.” “It’s our job to educate, and also to advocate for their safety, health and welfare.” “There are a lot of child labor laws that we have to make sure production is following.” “Kids must maintain a C-average in order to get their work permit.” “Even if you’re on a nonunion project, you can request a union studio teacher.” “I love working with kids. And I love helping them succeed.” “Be sure that this is the life your child really wants.” Resources: The Studio Teachers http://www.thestudioteachers.com/ Studio Teacher Certification Database https://www.dir.ca.gov/databases/dlselr/studtch.html The Looking Ahead Program https://www.lookingaheadprogram.org/ Blue Book https://www.concordtheatricals.com/s/6953/blue-book-employment-of-minors-in-the-entertainment-industry Cheryl Diamond is a wealth of knowledge for parents of young actors. Her 30+ years as a studio teacher as well as her leadership as president of the union that covers studio teachers is an incomparable source of wisdom. I’m so grateful that she took the time to share with us on this podcast. Talking with an expert can reveal many things that we didn’t know we didn’t know. Cheryl’s interview is a great reminder of this. If you suspect there may be things you still don’t know about building a safe, successful acting career—for yourself or for your child—reach out and schedule a consultation with me over Zoom. Investing in a single conversation can save you years of time, and many thousands of dollars. I look forward to speaking with you.

Retired agent Bill Grace served more than 33 years with the FBI. In this episode of FBI Retired Case File Review, he reviews the “Wolf Ticket” investigation where 13 Philadelphia Roofers Union Local 30 officials were convicted of racketeering, extortion, and bribery. The case uncovered numerous ties between union leaders, organized crime, and public officials. The key to the successful investigation was the surreptitious recording devices installed in the union hall that secretly taped conversations between union leaders and others. Prior to his transfer to the Philadelphia Division, where he worked Labor Racketeering and Corruption cases in Philadelphia and South Jersey, Bill Grace was assigned to the Bureau’s Baltimore and New Haven Offices. He currently continues to work for the FBI as a contract Asset Forfeiture Investigator.
