If you think Ballerina Farm means pigs with point shoes and tutus 1. that's really cute and 2. you're very wrong (unfortunately).Today we are diving into the world of ‘Trad Wives' and more specifically the world of Ballerina Farm which is both a brand and a woman. Hannah Neeleman is a mumfluencer, a mother of eight children and has amassed a huge 10 million followers on Instagram who follow her literally churning butter and collecting eggs from her chickens. Seems wholesome right? Wrong (kinda). Her charges include competing in a beauty pageant just two weeks postpartum, pretending to be poor but owning a $30,000 stove and a birthday present which is the stuff of nightmares (but that was technically her husband's fault). We unpack all. Plus, more of your lazy gewl stories. Annd we're back after a two-episode break due to a sore throat and lingering cough. Something I did not want to put myself or you through as a listener. :) It's no secret that we are in the midst of big changes. The energy feels different. We are waking up more and more to truths and untruths. We are remembering. All of which inherently brings a great deal of chaos. Our relationship to chaos, and ultimately our relationship to ourselves and our intuition, will greatly determine how we move through these times. The doors are open to embody more of your light than ever before. To step into your truth and create forward movement in accordance with the calling of your soul. And it's not a matter of pressure or speed. It's a matter of slowly leaning in and expanding your capacity to hold your own light in a slow and sustainable way so that it lands and has the capacity to go the distance.I love your face.Your host,Katie BuemannFull show notes: katiebuemann.com/podcast/creative-movement-forward___________Instagram: @katiebuemannWebsite: katiebuemann.comSubstack: katiebuemann.substack.comInsight Timer: insighttimer.com/katiebuemann___________

We give out many invitations to many different things in life. But the invitations we have to hand out is a fixed number. If we hand out those invitations haphazardly, we'll be out of alignment with God's blessings. Scriptures used in this episode: Luke 24: 49 Hebrews 11: 1 Psalm 37: 23-24 Hand out your invitations to people who are for you and not against you. *********************************************************** Sow a seed for the Kingdom of God today! https://www.paypal.com/us/fundraiser/charity/3682661 Join Us. The number 4 in the Bible means God's Creative Movement. Get ready as we study His Movement all month long. There is always a depth to the Lord's definitions and the more we spiritually grow, the more layers we will discover. This episode also leads you through a creative exercise that will help you remember to pause and let the Holy Spirit lead you instead of that knee-jerk reaction of responding out of the flesh. Let's dive in together! I'm always looking for new ideas to use for creative movement in the classroom. There was a video that came across my social media feed of a large group performing choreographed hand movements that were sharp and precise. The performers wore all black clothing and sat in a riser formation. They used their arms and hands to create motions that moved in straight lines, parallel lines, and in canon. This is called tutting. In today's episode I share the process I have been using to teach my students how to tut. Tutting can be done with the entire body, but we've focused only on the hands and arms. You'll hear how to get started with performing tutting in your classroom, allow students to create movements within the piece, and selecting music to use. Head to my website (www.jessicagrant.org) to access show notes that include links to videos and articles about tutting. Click on the Podcast tab and find Episode 240. When his research led to finding a link between multi-passionate people and neurodiversity, Perry Knoppert ultimately created a movement. The Octopus Movement is, in Perry's words, a gathering of curious misfits. Now numbering over 2500 members from 60 countries, The Octopus Movement is a celebration of people who don't fit neatly into well-defined social structures and who share the common characteristic of nonlinear thinking. In this episode of Your Own Best Company, Perry tells his story of losing everything as his first step to making anything possible. Our topics of conversation include: ** Finding a link between having multiple passions and neurodiversity. ** Making a place for nonlinear thinking in linear organizations. ** The common loneliness experienced by neurodivergent people. ** The challenges of nonlinear thinkers in employment and relationships. You can join the Octopus Movement and learn more about Perry at https://theoctopusmovement.org. When you hear the word Parkour, what comes to mind? For me it's the opening scene of the 2006 James Bond movie Casino Royale with incredible stunts. Or maybe the opening scene from the US version of The Office, where Michael, Dwight and Andy are filming themselves doing hardcore parkour. But what doesn't jump to mind immediately is a 52 year old woman doing parkour and teaching parkour. And maybe this has less to do with my innate ageist and sexist attitudes, and more with my media clouded versions of parkour. Either way, however familiar you are with parkour, I invite you join me in re-examining this creative art through a new lens.My guest today is Dr. Julie Angel. Julie is an artist, filmmaker, visual anthropologist, an author, a movement coach, a brand ambassador for Merrill, and has the distinction of earning the world's first PhD in parkour. Julie helps people overcome obstacles and rediscover their potential by finding a love of – and meaning in – movement. In this episode Julie shares how she found herself out of shape in her mid 30s fascinated with Parkour, and how her love and passion for human movement forever changed the arc of her life. You can connect with Julie in the following ways:Website - https://julieangel.com/Instagram - @julie_angel_phdFacebook - https://www.facebook.com/julie.angelYouTube - Julie Angel Movement Coach - YouTube Sponsor InformationEnergy Bits – www.silveredgefree.comUse Coupon code “silveredge” for 20% discount at checkout Join The Over 50 Lean Body Blueprint Private Facebook Pagehttps://www.facebook.com/groups/3172506236368032

He leads Self-Observation groups and Work Circles, where the Enneagram is utilized to discover what gets in the way of an integrated, fulfilling life. In this episode, Madison and Matthew speak on Enneagram identification as a spiritual, integrative and long term process and why your "type" is not, in fact, your True Essence. This conversation is a deep dive into the full intent and wisdom of the Enneagram, like you may never have heard about it before. Naomi is a dance teacher who has been teaching Classical Ballet and Jazz since 2011, as well as other genres such as Contemporary Dance and Creative Movement. As a teacher and business owner, Naomi places a strong emphasis on always placing the needs of her customers before hers and she shares in this episode that when you take care of your customers, they in turn will take care of you and your business as well.Resources:https://www.lighthousedancesg.com/#home-section – Check out Naomi's dance studio! Actionable Take-aways:1) When you take care of your customers and they know that your heart is in the business, they will in turn take care of you and your business. 2) Pay attention to who are the different stakeholders in your business. If you are in the education industry, your customers are not just the students, but their parents as well. 3) Find ways to provide a better experience for your customers on top of your core service to over deliver in value. Show Notes:[1:26] – Naomi shares why started her own dance studio (instead of using a shared space) during the Covid Pandemic. While it was a big risk to do so, she believed it was the right thing to do for her customers (i.e. the students and their parents) and her employees, because it would allow her to provide a safer environment for them.· Due to her philosophy of always placing her customers' needs before her own and placing a huge emphasis on the character development of her students, the relationships that she built with her customers over the years (and the belief that they would follow her to her new dance studio) gave her the confidence to take the plunge.[4:07] – Depending on the industry you are in, there may be various stakeholders to consider when considering who your customers are. As a dance instructor who is in the education niche, Naomi shares that she has to take care of the needs of her students and the parents. When you are sincere and you take care of the customers' needs, this will help build loyalty and customer retention.· As an educator, your sincerity has a direct impact on the relationship you develop with your students. Ultimately, the goal is to play a part in the student's character development and growth.· Parents will appreciate you for keeping them up to date with their child's progress and ultimately want to know that their children are in good hands.[7:08] Taking the time to build relationships with your customers not only helps with customer retention, your customer may also contribute to the growth of your business by joining the business as an employee one day.[8:35] It is important to stay flexible and adapt in business. If you can adapt to the changing environment and create new experiences for your customers and employee, your business will be resilient. · By organizing Zoom dance competitions, Naomi was able to keep her students engaged and supplement the income of her employees during the Covid lockdowns.[13:33] By offering a pay as you wish model during the Covid lockdowns, Naomi was not only able to allow her students' whose parents who had difficulty paying for the dance lessons to continue with their classes, she managed to do so without suffering a loss of income. · Giving discounts on your goods and services in a way devalues what you are offering.[17:03] Naomi's one key take-away is that being sincere with your customers and when they know you have their interests at heart, they will in turn take care of you.

These two choreographers have pushed dance in bold new directions and brought it to a much wider audience. Both Twyla Tharp and Justin Peck are classically-trained dancers who have created works for the ballet, for Broadway, and for the movies. Twyla Tharp, who is about to turn 80, is an icon of the dance world. She has spent six decades challenging ideas about how the body can move. In 1973 she created what is considered the first "crossover" piece, combining ballet and modern dance, but she says she is not interested in categories; dance is dance. Justin Peck, at 33, is still in the early days of his career, but he is already choreographer-in-residence at the New York City Ballet and choreographer for the new film version of "West Side Story," directed by Steven Spielberg (coming out in December, 2021). They both talk here about how their childhoods shaped their intense passion for movement and music, and they both describe beautifully how it feels when they are dancing.

She's a seeker. She's a dancer. She grew up in NYC in the midst of therapy culture with many "shoulds" and a bundle of grief and loss. Real healing happened for her while dancing to Prince alone in her bedroom, the place she felt connected to her body, to feelings, to imagination and creativity, to who she was authentically. Meaning, dancing connected Adrienne to her Self. She talks about her move from NYC to LA, a move from therapy to coaching. She has such a heart for healers and believes a lot of healers are caretakers in their family who have an intuitive knowing of how to help. She finds the parts coming up with clients are the ones coming up in everyday life so consultation and therapy are intertwined- similar parts come up in all of our relationships! She describes an ongoing parallel process of being a wounded healer, finding healing for herself and then bringing that to her clients. For healers who have strong striver, doing, go-go-go, scarcity parts (like me and her!), she reminds us that these parts have amazing gifts. If parts are here (even the 'bad' ones), they are here for a good reason. Her work is about "Embodied Creativity" which is integrating creativity, spirituality, and purpose making into IFS work, in and out of the therapy space. In movement, we become friends with sensations in the body and protectors soften. Her passion is intertwining parts work, playfulness, and meditation. She has found a home with IFS as all of her passions come together. She reminds us of the importance of REST and creating sacred spaces where creativity can flow through. Then motivation and productivity can come from a different place. She suggests we ask parts daily how they would like to rest, to move, and to be. She encourages us to seek what it is like to embody Self. This felt sense memory is a powerful practice to keep coming back to and relying on. Adrienne never stopped dancing alone in her room, she never stopped her first form of meditation practice. To check out all the cool, fun stuff she is up to go to: https://adrienneglasser.com/ Join her facebook group entitled "The Healers Circle." Today’s episode features Tyler Yearby and Michael Zweifel. Tyler Yearby is a Former Strength & Conditioning Coach at Northeastern State University and the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities who has delivered over 200 domestic & international continuing education courses, workshops, and conference presentations in 12 countries. Tyler has, and continues to work with athletes ranging from youth to professional. Michael Zweifel is the owner and head of sports performance for “Building Better Athletes” performance center in Dubuque, Iowa. Michael has been on a number of previous Just Fly Performance Podcast episodes, focusing largely on the development of reactive agility and transferable sport movement. Tyler and Michael are both a part of “Emergence” which is a movement skill education company. When it comes to building athletes in the agility and change of direction space, attitudes are changing and coaches are realizing how important it is to teach perception and decision making in a variety of situations, to eventually transfer better to sport. Agility done for the sake of running through cones as fast as possible is very limited in what it can do for an athlete in a chaotic sport environment, and podcast #76 was the epitome of that information. Today’s show takes those same ideas of reactivity and creative movement, and puts it into the structure of the weight room: resistance training and plyometric exercises. Tyler and Michael try to mirror their approach to an “athlete based” model of problem solving throughout an entire program, and in this episode they share how creative means are utilized in the weight room to not only improve movement and robustness, but also stoke the fires of athlete creativity. On the show today, we dig into what these sequences look like, and get to the core of “athlete centered” training in the weight room on the level of variability, and much more. Today’s episode is brought to you by SimpliFaster, supplier of high-end athletic development tools, such as the Freelap timing system, kBox, Sprint 1080, and more. Key Points What the motor learning concept of “repetition without repetition” means on a basic level How Michael and Tyler are using motor learning and “repetition without repetition” principles in the weightroom What a typical “repetition without repetition” weightroom training sequence would look like in the pre-season training period What “athlete centered” training and coaching looks like How ideas on variability affect plyometric and reactive training How to adjust training variability based on an athlete’s readiness “Repetition without repetition is not the means to solving a given motor problem, but the process of that solution. It is the changing and improving from rep to rep and the means of that, so everything essentially slightly changes as we perform any type of motor action” Yearby “We view sport as a problem solving activity… we view the weightroom as assistive to this problem solving activity” Zweifel “(In regards of variables to change from set to set) One (variation) is tempo, the other is stance” Yearby “(Regarding lifting in awkward positions) Don’t our athletes need to be able to express force, despite the compromised positions they find themselves in the field?” Zweifel “The learning centered approach doesn’t mean that you let the athlete do whatever they want” Yearby “For me personally, in my athletes, I’ll gladly take a 20% weight reduction in a compound lift to have on this repetition without repetition scheme (different types of repetitions each set or rep)” Zweifel “My athletes have given me a ton of feedback that me allowing them to explore in the weightroom, to be creative, and to own their own movements in the weightroom, have given them the confidence to do the same things out in the field” Zweifel “For an initial starting point,

“We named the company Telegraph because the telegraph was the first mass, modern communication device that allowed people to communicate from continent to continent.” Kevin McLendon, CEO of Telegraph Creative, brings his journey as an entrepreneur in front of our mic. Throughout this podcast, McLendon discusses how Telegraph separates itself from the common creative agency by investing in the uniqueness of each brand Telegraph works with, and sharing it with the world in a visually appealing and magnetic manor. “It all comes down to original thought.” In a world full of choices and ideas to grab on to, original thought tends to get lost in the process. Kevin has made it a point at Telegraph to develop a team of experts to create and maintain a unique and original brand for each organization they work with. “At the end of the day, if you have the confidence that you do good work, and the talent is on par with anybody else, that's all you can do is sell yourself and sell your talent.” People are always looking for new ways of doing things. In the summer of 2017 Telegraph launched Sloss Tech l The Southeast's Preeminent Tech Festival During Sloss Tech, the Telegraph team worked with influencer, Casey Neistat. Check out the video below to see the incredible Telegraph team featured in Neistat's video “Alone in an Airport”. Did you know we have more nerves in our belly than in our brain? This is why the belly is often referred to as ‘the second brain’. And why we do ‘gut checks’ when making big decisions. This delicate system can actually become clouded or blocked by our anxiety or other emotions, just as easily as by our digestive issues. So says Claudia Mansbach, a 17 year practitioner of the ancient Chinese medicine bodywork, Chi Nei Tsang, Chinese medicine bodywork that focuses on the abdomen and internal organs. This would explain, for me at least, why my gut is the first thing to get tense when life stresses me out. Your health, your emotions, your energy, your alignment … and yes, your happiness … are rooted here. Claudia’s life work is to help anyone with digestive issues heal them using Chi Nei Tsang. But she also helps people who don’t have ‘gut issues’ per se, but nervous system issues instead. Author Allison Post refers to this work as ‘Unwinding the Belly’ and that is what it is at the core. People who experience the work fall asleep having their tummy rubbed, and wake up to find their energy restored, their sleep deepened, and their digestion much improved. Listen to Claudia’s soothing and grounded voice as she explains things like: Why the ‘core’ of the body is where some of the most powerful healing can happen How healing the gut can affect the rest of the body How (and why) anxiety lives in our gut The connection between grief and anxiety How stress affects the various organs in the gut … and the entire body The importance of the solar plexus, and where to find it How Chi Nei Tsang can actually heal the entire nervous system The importance of letting go in refining your own gut instinct How Claudia found this deep work … and how it has changed her RESOURCES Touching the Core Within, Claudia’s website [LINK TO http://www.touchingthecore.com/ Unwinding the Belly, by Allison Post BIO Claudia believes deeply in the intrinsic ability of our bodies, minds and spirits to heal. She has been learning to live well and in alignment with her body, mind and spirit through the study and application of diverse healing modalities as her life practice.
