Let's get started.Lesley Logan 1:01  All right, Be It babe, get ready. Get your notepads out. Get a pen out. If you listen to us on 1.5 1.75 speed, I'm gonna be really honest. You might wanna slow this one down. There's a lot of acronyms, and this guest and I had the best fucking time. I'll be really honest. I, I really was like, who is this person on my podcast? After we stopped hitting record, he and I were like, I don't know how you got on this pod. He's like, I don't know how I'm on this pod. And then my husband comes in, and I'm just gonna spoil for you. My husband is the one who met him, and my husband is the one who brought him on the podcast, and that is why he, like, got to skip all the things where I would find out who this person is and what they're going to talk about, and why we're talking and, like, what's going to go on. But I'm going to tell you right now I didn't need any of that information for this to be the most amazing interview ever. Like, this is going to be one that you save. This is going to be when you re-listen to you. I promise you're going to re-listen to it as soon as it's over because I want to re-listen to it right now. And I was just there and I just did it. I want to, like, take notes. I am obsessed with this person, and I really do hope that they stay in my life in some way. And he gave us some excellent Be It Action Items, but the whole thing is a bold, executable, intrinsic, targeted action item you could take. And so David Corbin is our guest today, and you guys, he's pretty bad ass. So here you go. Lesley Logan 2:31  All right, Be It babe, I've had a great guest. The guy seems very chill, but also has done some amazing things in this world, and we're gonna hear all about it. So David Corbin, can you tell everyone who you are and what you rock at?David Corbin 2:44  Ah, who am I? It's really funny. My mother passed away not knowing who her youngest son really was. What I did for a living. She told all of her friends I laundered money. She didn't have a clue what I did, but I could tell you what I do and kind of who I am. I I've written 14 books, and a third of them made it to the Wall Street Journal bestseller list, so some of the ideas are really catching on USA Today list, and I've done a couple TED talks, and I'm an inventor, and I won two international awards for these inventions that I've done in healthcare and in wellness and stuff. But I'm really none of that. I'm really an ex Woodstock-attending hippie who's a father and a grandfather and a husband to a beloved goddess, and I'm a pickleball player and a tennis player. That's who I am. Boom. Mic drop.Lesley Logan 3:43  Okay, I have never, I think a lot of people can relate to like their parents not understanding what they do. But I do think that most of them probably think that they don't launder money. So I feel like, but, you know, it took my parents a long time to understand that what I do is not yoga. So, you know.David Corbin 4:00  Yeah, right, you do that Pilates thing (inaudible) with the Pilates, you with the FAA, with that Pilates show (inaudible).Lesley Logan 4:08  No, it's okay. We don't need to talk about it today. But I guess, like, where I want to start is, like, how do you like, how do you become someone who writes 14 books and does two TEDx talks and like, has a goddess of a wife? Like, where? Like, how did we get here?David Corbin 4:21  Yes, pure god shot, really, because I'm really Forrest Gump, I ain't the smartest guy in the world, but I am the damn luckiest. But no, I've been, you know, I grew up in New York. I was a low self esteem kid. Had to figure stuff out, you know, shoveled snow in the winter and mowed lawns in the summer. And I wasn't the brightest kid. I started to shovel snow in the summer and mow lawns in the winter, but, you know, so I did all that sort of stuff. And then, you know, sort of grew up, and at a time when, you know, the world was a little messed up, not like it is now. And you know, we were in a Vietnam War, and I was protesting. The war, and I got pretty active and engaged in that. And, you know, did all that groovy stuff. And, you know, was it Woodstock? It was a backstage at Woodstock. Lesley Logan 5:07  Oh, my god. Oh, my god. David Corbin 5:10  Yeah it was sick. And then, you know, started businesses. And, my gosh, had I did a TED Talk about one where I was, I did something called Woodstock wisdom. That was a TED Talk. It's kind of cool. I gave away make believe LSD, it was definitely an interesting TED Talk. And, you know, on and on. And then, you know, I would create businesses. I then product, build companies around the business, sell the business. And I learned stuff, you know, like, I learned stuff. I mean, I went to college and and all, but I really learned stuff through life, through bouncing and pinging it off of people, and, you know, with black and blue marks in life, you know what I mean. So I I learned some stuff, and I put them to use, and then people would ask me about it. I teach them about it, and then ended up doing, speaking and writing books about those things. And I just kept learning and practicing putting it in place and getting results. People notice it. They say, hey, man, can you help me? And I would help them. Then I'd write a book about it. And so it's just, it's really organic, you know? I mean, I was the president of one of the most prestigious massage colleges in the country, right? And how did that happen? Just pure by accident. My friends started it years later. They were functional in the classroom, but they were dysfunctional in the boardroom and so, so all these things just I don't know, man, I'm telling you. Forrest Gump, Lesley Logan 6:42  I, thank you for sharing the journey because I think, like, people would see, oh my gosh, two TED talks, 14 books, like, you know the confidence that comes from from you, but to hear like was a kid, you had low self-esteem. And I also love hearing like I went to college, and I really thought, like, why am I doing this? But most of it was to get out of a small town. And, like, you can't really get out of a small town. Just like, I'm gonna move. Like, no one was gonna let me to move to L.A. without going to college. So I had to, like, go to college so I could move to L.A. but, like, but I, you know, I, I was someone who's like, why? I don't even know what I'm gonna do with this degree. Like, what do I'm an elder millennial, so like, what do you do with a degree after college? Like, and it's then, it's a recession. So it doesn't, you know what? I just really didn't know it. But I realized over time, and the things I fell into, is that everything kind of layers, if you're willing to look at it. And so you said to yourself, like, you just said recently, like, I help these people, and then, like, I wrote a book about it. So what? What prompted you to, like, reflect enough to share what you were learning, because so many people would reflect and just like, keep it to themselves.David Corbin 7:53  Yeah, I, you know, I had a good inner dialog, and I kind of talked to myself, what's working, what's not working, blah, blah, blah. You just sort of develop this stuff. All I could say is that when you when you're growing up, like I kind of grew up as like an orphan in a family, so I was kind of alone. Everybody was older than me, and so I was kind of like left alone. And by the way, I stayed in college for a different reason. Mine was to not get my ass shot up in Vietnam. So I had to keep my ass in college and stuff like that.Lesley Logan 8:26  And you had to get a certain GPA. You couldn't just be in college because my father didn't get the GPA, and that's why he was in Vietnam.David Corbin 8:33  Yeah, and I wasn't, and I wasn't going to go, but, but what I think my secret sauce is being awake, aware, alert. My heart's filled with love, and my mind is filled with opportunity seeking. So I see an opportunity. I wrote a book called Luminate: Harnessing the Positive Power of Negative Thinking, right, which is a whole different scene, because, you know, you can't outrun your shadow, but I would look and I taught face it, follow it and fix it. I mean, like, I knew that you can't solve everything you face but you can't solve anything unless you face it. So I wrote this book about face it, follow it and fix it. And that's how I created my inventions. That's how I invented my companies is face it. Here's it like in healthcare. I looked at this thing even before COVID and healthcare burnout with doctors and nurses and turnover was over a $4 billion per year problem. That was before COVID, right? So I went face that. That sucks. Follow it like why is that happening? Well, they treat them like shit, and they, you know, the hours and stuff, there's no there's stress constantly. There's no inter interruption of the pattern of stress. Follow it into the future. Well, we're gonna have a shortage of doctors and nurses. So what's the fix? So I invented a pod. It's a four foot by four foot pod with nature video. And they go in there, how do you feel? They answer some questions. They choose a video journey. Afterwards three to eight minutes, they say, How do you feel now? And in three to eight minutes, they go from their crazy roles and goals down into their souls so they're more present with themselves and others. And we prove it, we won the International Healthcare design award for innovation. We're in every hospital in New York. We're in 14 states, all because I keep my eyes and ears open, I say, What does love look like in this situation? Well, there's a problem, face it, follow it and fix it. And I think any listener of your podcast, or any this is my third podcast I'm doing today, if they ask themselves, what am I not facing in my career, in my relationship, in my relationship with myself, in my health, in my health habits, what am I not facing and then, you know, the ego goes, well, I don't know if I knew I'd face it. No, you wouldn't. So face it and then follow it and then fix it. I mean, I was 50 pounds overweight, and I had to face it like face it. Why, you know, and then follow it. Why am I 50 pounds? Well, I drink two, three glasses of wine after dinner, and then my blood sugar would go low, and I'd eat anything in the house, and then I go to sleep. So I turned into a fat person. And, you know, follow it out into the future, I was hoping I would have grandchildren. I won't be able to play with my grandchildren, so the face it and the follow it, and then you go into the fix. So that's one of the models that I teach in one of my books. And and it's kind of cool, because when you get known as the illuminator, which I was, then people hire you, like one company, I can't tell you the name of it, but it rhymes with schmomanos Pizza. They hired me to be their chief illumination officer, and we illuminated the fact that their pizza tastes like crap, you know. And then they, they did a whole ad campaign that said, our pizza tastes like crap. And they, I don't know if you're old enough to remember that, but did a whole campaign around that, because we illuminated, because we found, look, first off, here's some of the stuff. Okay, face it. Follow and fix it. The their issue was their profits sucked. Yeah, right. And they wanted to go public, so we faced it. One of the things we said is we can't move forward when your profits suck like that, so we followed, why are your profits so low? Well, it's because most people don't know what they're having for dinner by 4:30pm and they call up and they go, man, I got two kids and a dog and my neighbor's kid, I need to buy something, right? And they're put on hold. So what we found is they weren't in the fast food business. They were in the crisis intervention business. When you call 911, you don't want to be put on hold, right? So we taught all their people to be crisis intervention people, and they go, I got two kids and my neighbor's kid and my dog. What do I get? And instead of, like, I don't know what do you want? They go, no problem. We take care. That's our with that's our Package B with two round discs of cardboard and fake cheese and ketchup and crap on it and a big old bottle of sugar water with caffeine to get those little bastards to bounce off the wall. And they go, yes, that's exactly what I need. So we faced it, followed it, and fixed it. Well, now, I really don't choose to work with companies that are selling fast food, and I don't, you see the example of that. They have no idea. They didn't have a clue.Lesley Logan 13:54  Well, because you get so close to it. And also, you know, depending on what time of the day, like you can either go, oh my god, I can totally take on that problem, or you can put yourself in a spiral. At least that's me. Maybe that's just me, but I really like this, because I'll often say, like, reflect, correct and continue, but I like, thank you. And you know, like, we can't we're not gonna be perfect all the time. Even our best ideas are going to get to market and or get to your friends or get to your family, and somewhere in the translation, something like didn't happen, or people like, hold on, what's this? And we're all going to have to face it, follow it and fix it, or we don't, and it doesn't go where we wanted to go. And then we go, well, there's another idea that didn't work, you know? And so my my husband had a business coach who talked about, like, hugging the cactus, which makes me, like, think about, like facing it. Like we have to actually take responsibility for where we got to where we are. And it doesn't mean you have to beat yourself up. It doesn't mean that you have to spend a lot of time, like there, but you do have to go, Okay, I did put one step in front of the other and got myself here. I want to be over here. If I stay here, this is where it's going to go. I get more of this, which is not awesome, or I can do these things. And if I do that, what does that look like in the future? And then you can take some change. I really am obsessed with this, David, it's great.David Corbin 15:16  Yeah. G.R.F.R., baby, Get Real For Results. Get Real For Results. I love hug the cactus. One of my business partners wrote a book sold 2 million copies called Eat That Frog, Brian Tracy, sure, and yeah, Brian and I were partners for five years, and it's all about get real. So one of the things that I focused on with clients, and I just did a workshop yesterday for the Sheriff's Department in San Diego, California, and it's about illuminating their reputation. And that's building your brand. I teach you're either in brand integrity and living your brand or not, and that's what I call brand slaughter in the first degree, brand slaughter. You put people in jail for manslaughter but, companies allow people to kill their brands and get away with it. So I wrote a book called preventing brand slaughter, and then I wrote another book called the illuminated brand, which is a training program, is the greatest trading program I've ever developed. And I've been in this field for a couple of weeks now, and then I just did that for a client, a billion dollar client in Cancun a couple of weeks ago. And that's all about living into how you want to be described. So if Lesley Logan wants to be described as boom, boom, boom, boom, and boom, right then everything you do is either living into that and you're earning that. I call it an I.B.D. Intended Brand Descriptor. You're either living it and earning it, or you're not. And that's brand slaughter,Lesley Logan 16:54  Okay, this okay. I just had a client this morning, and she, usually I teach her on Tuesdays, but I was traveling, and so I said, hey, babe, I know you hate mornings, but if you want a session this week, it's got to be 8 a.m. that's all I got. And I'm only giving it to you because I don't normally like to work at that time, but it's for you. And she said, Yeah, I'll take it. I was so shocked. So I show up on Zoom, and she's like, well, I'm working on this thing. I'm a healthy person, that's what I'm telling myself. And if I'm a healthy person, a healthy person would work out at 8am they wouldn't skip their workout this week. They'd work out at 8am and so that's what it makes me think of. Like, I can't think of a like, I love what you described, because it's like, being it till you see it. It's like, how do I want to be described? How would I want to describe like, if it's the future and then, like, acting as if you're the person who has that description. What does that person do? What does that business do? What does that product do? What is like? What does that day look like? I'm obsessed. I love that. David Corbin 17:43  You got it. You know, you walk into the ladies room to wash your hands, right? And there's someone in the stall, invariably, with their cell phone, and they're talking they don't know you're there. Well, what if they were talking about you? What do you want them to hear them say about you. So what I teach is you make a list of your intended brand descriptors. That's the first part. Then you do an A.B.I. an Audit of Brand Integrity. So down here you got the lit, and there's a TV show they did on me on this. And I can give you the link if you all want to see it. So here's a list of descriptive adjectives. I call them intended brand descriptors. Over here are your touch points, customers, prospects, coworkers, vendors, whatever, and now you do an inventory. Say, here's the word I want to be described by this here, am I in brand integrity? Yay. Or, oh, shit, am I in brand slaughter? Now, once you find those areas of brand slaughter, do the next step. We call them S.B.I.s, Strategic Brand Initiatives, what can I do to close the gap? All of that when you do that on a regular basis, equals M.B.V. and that's Massive Brand Value. So I'm doing this with this training program with Fortune 500 companies. I'm doing it with smaller companies, and it's all about I.B.D. times A.B.I. and S.B.I. is M.B.V. What are your intended brand descriptors? Then you do an audit of brand integrity, Then you say, okay, here's the areas where I'm great. Pat yourself on the back. Here's the areas where I'm committing brand slaughter, you have strategic brand initiatives to close it. Boom. Now it's a no whining zone, baby.Lesley Logan 19:34  Oh, my God, I really do love this. I think this is really a lot of fun, because you can do this about anything, like anyone listening. If you're like, dating, and you keep attracting someone you don't really want to be with, it's like, you could literally go, okay, well, let's take a look at the profile, or let's take a look at, like, what I'm saying on a date. You can like, all these things. I have a girlfriend who, whenever she goes on a date, she actually has, like, a scale that she rates them and then herself on. She's like, how am I acting in on this date with this person. So you could do the same thing of, like, how you want to show up and who you want to be with, and who your friends are, and all the things. And you could figure out, like, oh, this, this right here. This is where I'm creating brand slaughter. This is where I'm I think it's fabulous. It's also it's something you could do throughout your career or life, or, I mean, like, you can do it and then you can go back and do it, like, each quarter or each year, because as you grow it's, you know, I read a book called I read a book called the middle, but I didn't finish it, and I think that's hilarious, but at the got to the middle, and I was like, I think I got the point. But you it talks about, like, how all businesses go up and down, up and down, up and down, like a graph. But ideally it's always just going up, like the stock market goes up and down, up and down. But if you look at big picture, it's always going up. So, you know, so I think, like, we can get so caught up in the down, and then we can flounder there for so long that we don't realize we came from a really big up, and we can learn from that and bounce back. And, you know, there's another day to try it out again. This is so fun, okay, so, but hold on, you have a lot of acronyms. I'm not dyslexic, but I am A.D.H.D.David Corbin 21:04  Me too. That's my theme song, A, B, C, D, A, D, D. That's my theme song.Lesley Logan 21:12  So how, like, how do you how do you keep this all like, where do you is it all in your head? Do you organize? You journal? Like, what's your way of keeping all these ideas in one amazing place.David Corbin 21:23  No, I've been I am a gifted man. See, the big dude gave me this incredible brain and this magnificent heart, and the highway between the two is wide open. So I can keep it here. I don't journal. I meditate, I do something else called meditration, which I developed, which is, yeah, you know, you're not supposed to think when you're meditating. But when you, well, I teach meditration, meditration where you sit down with a piece of paper, you put the issue or the question on top, then you put yourself in a meditative state after you set your iPhone or whatever, to 22 minutes, and while the questions on the top 22 minutes, pencil or pen on paper, and you dwell upon that question, and you don't open your eyes, but you write with your eyes closed, and you let the unconscious confidence come through, and the universal conscious confidence come through, and you write some good shit down there. Now, at first, it kind of like you read it as like don't eat frogs. What is that? Because you can't read your handwriting. Eventually, you allow the download to come through. No one is smarter. Like, it's smarter than chatGPT y'all, no shit, it's smarter than even chatGPT. You write it down and you tap in. You know, prayer is when you're talking out there, but meditation is when you're listening. You listen in meditation. You know, like our emotions scream at us, and our thoughts yell at us, but our intuition whispers to slow down meditration, take it all in. It's freaking awesome, because the answer to every, everything you got, every WTF has within it an OMG and end up LOL, right, right. Are you with me? Lesley Logan 23:26  Yeah, I'm with you. I love it. I know all these Okay. David Corbin 23:29  So, like, I wrote two books called From WTF to OMG, with a Little LOL: Unpacking Life's Hidden Lessons. The first one hit number one on Wall Street Journal, the second one hit number two behind Prince Harry. Yo. I don't know what Prince Harry? How does Prince Harry come in front of King David? But anyway, it's because everyone knows at a certain level, when you're in a when you're in trauma or drama, that's usually a gift in there, not all of the time. I mean, don't tell me. Like, you know, somebody who gets run down in New Orleans by a car or a toddler gets shot in a freaking daycare center. Don't tell me there's a lesson in there. No, not all of it.Lesley Logan 24:13  Not all, I agree. David Corbin 24:14  But most of our lives there's a pony in that pile of poop, you know? And so if you assume there's an OMG built into the WTF, you close the curve of drama, trauma and pain and misery, and just start looking, and then you get it, and you're like, yo, that's fantastic. So yeah, so I look for that sort of stuff. So there's meditration, but there's something I gotta tell you, are you ready for this? Lesley Logan 24:45  I can't wait. David Corbin 24:46  I am proud of this. So I got permission from the TED organization to hand out L.S.D. it to my audience,Lesley Logan 24:55  The real stuff. Oh, this is the fake stuff. This is the fake one. Yeah. Okay. Well, because the audience is so big. You're not going to buy L.S.D. for everybody.David Corbin 25:01  Even the, no, I'm not. I'm not that generous. But even even the fake stuff, I had to get permission. So what I did was I said, could you imagine, first of all, I talked about being backstage at Woodstock. And I said, you know, 50 years I saved all this L.S.D. and I got one for all of you. So, you know, I'm like, Oprah, one for you, one for you, one for you. And I said, so when I count to three, you're going to pick it up, toss it in the air, catch it in your mouth, and go, whoa, dude, I'm tripping. So they did that, right? Boom, boom, boom, 500 but whoa, dude, I'm tripping. I said, cool, now that you're tripping, and here's the point, Lesley, now that you're tripping, you could ask your business two questions, and because you're tripping, you could hear the business answer you in its voice. And here's the two questions, and this is what I would want everyone to write down. Number one is, your business. What do you need me to do? And then you write down a list of the core job functions, right? So your trip? So you write down the core. You got one list of core job functions. Then you say, your business. Who do you need me to be? And you write down the qualities and characteristics. Now you got two lists. Now, because you're tripping, you get naked, right? But, but, but not naked of clothing. That's the easy part. Now you get naked of ego, and you rate yourself on both lists on a scale of one to 10. 10 is chaching mastery. You could bring it to that business right now. The business is asking for it. You say, I got you. That's 10. One is you suck. Where you're a five, six or seven, you close the gaps. Same thing on the other list, qualities and characteristics. Good listener, right? Where you're a 10, great, but where you're a three, close the gaps. It's like those S.B.I. is the Strategic Brand Initiatives. It's all about get freaking real. So they're tripping. They have a conversation with their business. They get naked. They see where they need to close the gaps. When you do that, anyone who's listening to this, when you do that, you can no longer complain about market conditions and competition and this. And I don't have enough capital, and I'm not this enough. Bullshit. You take control of that and close those gaps. And as you do, you increase your competence, which then brings up your confidence, which then brings up your competence again. And you're and you go on up the eensy beensy spider, but not up the water spout. Up the spout to prosperity and fulfillment. Boom. When I teach that, and people come back and say, I did that. Had it worked, had it worked, it's a game changer, because now you're taking responsibility. You could do it for your health. Hey, body, what you what do you need from me? Make a list. Yeah, rate yourself on your ability to bring that. Close the gaps. Bring your gift, your body, your magnificent body developed. I mean, it's amazing. And keep it in optimal condition by putting natural foods in, hydrating with quality water, getting the right movement, then it's like life is easy. People say, David, you're 72 and you play pickleball every day and you play tennis, yeah. God made an incredible body. God made unbelievable food. I put God's food into God's body. Boom. No GMO shit. No chemicals, no process, no fluoride in water, no fluoride in toothpaste. You know, I cleanse my liver and my kidney everyday with homeopathy, I chelate heavy metals out of my body with ACC Nano. Take responsibility. Life is good, baby.Lesley Logan 29:20  I love how you attribute to business and also to our health, because I think it's really important. And I just want to, like, highlight a couple things. I didn't know I was doing meditration, but I was doing, like, like a version of the morning pages, right? So morning, like, my therapist was like, I want you to journal. And then I was like, well, I'm a recovering perfectionist. So a week later, I was like, what am I supposed to journal? Like, how do I journal? Not really even understanding which, I have the journals I got pens. I can't read my own handwriting. So, like, what are we doing here? She's like, okay, how would you just do morning pages? Just write for three pages and whatever comes out. And I found within a couple of days, like, the thing that was bothering me or the thing that I feared would like, it would come on the page, and then by the end, I would understand, why was I afraid? What was I going to do? All these different things? And so I can't agree more, like I don't. I think most of our listeners, like, when they hear meditation is the thing they need to do, they're like, I'm sorry. We're out. Because, like, when you have ADD or ADHD, good luck removing the thought from your brain, but giving someone something to think, like, actually do and close their eyes and let it come out. I do, I do see how that could be really amazing. Because I can see, like, first of all, I can get angry because I like, I like to get angry at the thing. I got to do a little blame game that I got blame myself. Then I got to keep going. It's like, actually, it's not me, it's not them. It's this thing right here that I've been avoiding. And we can stop avoiding it, or we could do the thing. So I love that. The other thing I love is, like, I love those questions you asked because I think, I do think inside you're correct, that we do have the answers. We don't need chatGPT to tell us. I mean, you can use that. I have friends who love it, and we have a bot of me. But like, you can also just ask yourself, like, what do I need right now? And half the time when I ask myself that, when I'm frustrated, I'm like, I need something that's like, drink some water. Like, just go drink some water. Go sit outside. Go pet your dog. Like, go do something that brings you present. Because one of the things that I like, really obsessed about with you, and I'm really trying to figure out how we even know each other. I'm like, saying, how'd this man end up on my podcast? I love him. He's so great. Where'd we come from? Yeah, no, I can see that from the application. I think it might have been my husband, so maybe, but we'll figure that out offline. But what I'm loving is you are so passionate, and that is, like, contagious, of course, in all the best ways, but you have so much kindness and grace for all situations like you're you've talked about your heart a few times, but like, what I'm seeing is like you approach everything with, like, it's a problem to be solved, but not from a place of like, punishment or shame or judgment, but just observation and then taking some time to to go what would what can I give myself? What can I do this? How can I learn more here? And what it allows is all of us to be in process. None of us have to be perfect at this. Like you're always, like you said, you get the competence, you get the confidence, and then you guess what? You get more competence, which means you get more confidence. So we're always going to be on this mountain with no peak, but not in a way that's like a slog, in a way that is like high, like a good high.David Corbin 32:19  Yeah, you're a natural illuminator? No, you are when, when you write and then you see it, you see what happens is, is we usually keep problems on. We sweep it under the carpet. Well, I can tell you that, like mushrooms, they multiply in the dark, right when you take it out, daylight is the best disinfectant. And so you take it out and you illuminate. You look at it. It's not as bad as when you you use so much energy to energy to repress it and keep it down in there and stuff. Just freaking look at it, and it like a vampire, something that evaporates just in daylight and stuff. So you're already doing in a way that I call it different you, but who cares? We get to the same place. What is your objective? What is my objective? I could tell you mine is happiness, love, joy, equipoise, health, fulfillment, like I just trademark something. You know they have KPIs. Keep, bullshit, because that's all left brain analytic perfection. Make it KFIs, Key Fulfillment Indicators, everybody, customers, you your employees, your employees' family, they all need to be fulfilled. So you're looking at these metrics to make everyone and everything fulfilled. That is a more feminine energy into business, and I'm all about that. The feminization of energy in this planet is time, and we're seeing it, we're seeing it, we're feeling it. So groups like Heart Math and the like, are testing and measuring the our brain emits x. Our heart image emits, like, 18,000 x it's unbelievable. It's all measured and shit. The work by my friend Joe Dispenza, in terms of of meditation and what's happening in there and brain waves. Oh, my God, he's having a seizure. No, they're down in this theta and that where you can see anything and every is like doing an Ibogaine trip, you know, or Ayahuasca, to a degree, but more Ibogaine, or 5-MeO-DMT, and like, you're expanding how you can see things and shit. It's really cool. So, yeah, one of you and I, one of us is redundant. The world doesn't need both of us because we both kind of think of the same. Lesley Logan 34:44  Can we, I've, I feel like, I feel like I need to find you in New York and we need to hang out because you like, I don't know, I want to be around your energy more. This is so fun. But also I, I want to highlight you guys. You have to, like, Look at this man on YouTube, on the videos, because you're the same age as my dad. And I think my dad's pretty bad ass for a 72 year old who, like, you know, had to do a post office game after the military and, like, got forced out of like, all all the life things that happened to him, and he can deadlift like, 300 pounds, like, the man is strong. But what I am obsessed with is your your recall, the way you are sharing these stories and that you're not stopping like, that is something that my 72 year old father does not have, and I can tell it's, one, it's all the ways that you're treating yourself. And two, it's like you're a constant learner, and you're and you're like, you're, you're going back to we talked about the beginning. You're like, facing it, following it, fixing it, like, because you're on that process all the time. It's, it's really cool to see, like, your evolution. I mean, it's just, I am very amazed and very impressed, and like, want to eat what you're eating, because I want to be, I want to be you at 72.David Corbin 35:53  M, my bride, Ann, and I wrote a book. It's 419 pages. It's called Resanity: Truths About Food, Pharma and Healthy Living in an Insane World. Now, we were told not to publish it because we outed a lot of industries, and they said, if you publish that book, you better have somebody start your car in the morning, because they ain't going to be happy. So, so we didn't have to publish it, but just the research, to your point, the stuff that I study, learn and teach is the stuff that I want to study learn and teach, you see, and it's a and it's an iterative process and stuff. So when I study health, I do health like I don't have to publish that book I learned all about chelation and homeopathy and to stay away from certain drugs and certain jabs and and foods, and don't listen to this bullshit and listen to that bullshit and muscle test and applied kinesiology, and we live it. So my wife and I just kicked ass to a lot younger guys on the pickleball court, and they're like, this sucks. I go, yeah, it sucks being you, man. No, I live in San Diego.Lesley Logan 37:07  I'm in Las Vegas. We're so close.David Corbin 37:10  Yeah, yeah, I know. In fact, I go to Vegas because I have a client who's an artist in residence at Mandalay Bay, at the House of Blues, and his name is Carlos Santana.Lesley Logan 37:20  Well, there you have it.David Corbin 37:21  Do you know who Carlos is? Lesley Logan 37:23  Of course, I do. I'm, my husband's a bass player and like, and he used to have a drum radio show, and I think they were getting Carlos and his drummer on. And if I'm wrong, Brad will just pretend like I was right, but I'm pretty, of course, I know Carlos Santana. Are you kidding?David Corbin 37:40  There's me and Carlos right there. Carlos' drummer is Cindy Blackman Santana. She was Lenny Kravitz's drummer. Carlos says, I love drummers so much I married mine. So Carlos' drummer is Cindy. You're like, 10 feet away from a legend, and this, he's an enlightened being. Lesley Logan 38:26  I actually got to go to the that venue because I was, I thought I was getting tickets for the Counting Crows, but I got tickets to the Black Crows. My friends invited me, and I'm there and going. I don't know any of these songs. I have no idea who am I even seeing. And I was like, literally googling. I'm like, oh, this is a very famous band that I know nothing about.David Corbin 38:42  Girlfriend, dig this. So, so they were in town in San Diego. I was supposed to be in Vietnam. My trip Vietnam got canceled, so I'm in San Diego. So okay, so I go see them. And so the Counting Crows and Santana, I didn't know who Counting Crows was.Lesley Logan 38:58  So you actually saw the Counting Crows, and I saw the Black Crows, or you?David Corbin 39:01  I saw Counting Crows. So now, dig this, dig this. So now I'm sitting there with my wife, and my sister in law was in from and so we're there, and I'm actually enjoying Counting Crows. They're really good. That lead singer is like a theatrical performer, he's unbelievable. Right while I'm digging the music, I get the text, can you come backstage now? I'm like, torn between two lovers. I'm digging this music, but who doesn't want to go backstage and hang. Lesley Logan 39:32  With Carlos Santana? David Corbin 39:34  Kind of like, yeah, my life doesn't suck (inaudible) like, my life doesn't say, Okay, thank you. Thank you.Lesley Logan 39:42  Do you think like I feel like we fall into things? So I got to see and our listeners like, what are you talking about? Don't worry, because we'll have Be It Actions in a second. But for my birthday, I had a few friends come out for, like, a girls trip here in Vegas, and I didn't really make a lot of plans. And one of the girls goes, hey, it was, like, six o'clock and we were about to go to a dinner reservation. She's like, hey, do you want to go see The Eagles at The Sphere? And I was like, yeah, I'll go to The Eagles at The Sphere. Like, why not? Just like, yeah, we, we can get these. My friend has two, has box seats. And I was like, okay, even better, you guys. And I looked over, I was like, No, that's Ringo Starr, babe. People have got to be looking like, who are these two girls at The Eagles concert in a box of The Spear? Because we're definitely not their age group. But I, I know The Eagles I grew up on oldie, like, I'm not, people would be so upset if I called oldies, but that's what I apparently, raised me on that so I was, I was having the best time of my life. Okay, we can share more stories. And obviously you need to have and need to have a hangout session when you're here in Vegas, or I'm gonna come to San Diego this summer, but gonna take a brief break, kinda where people can follow you, find you, stan you, all those things. In this special episode of the Energy Policy Now podcast, Penn climatologist Michael Mann talks with Bob Inglis, former Republican Congressman from South Carolina and current executive director of RepublicEN.org, about bridging the partisan climate divide. In a wide-ranging conversation recorded live during Energy Week at Penn 2025 at the University of Pennsylvania, Mann and Inglis discuss a conservative view on climate change, how conservative messaging on climate has evolved over time, and how common solutions might be found in an era of partisan climate divide. Inglis also offers his view on carbon pricing and strategies to reign in carbon emissions in the U.S. The conversation is moderated by Sanya Carley, faculty director of the Kleinman Center for Energy Policy. Bob Inglis is a former U.S. representative for South Carolina’s 4th congressional district. He is the executive director of RepublicanEn.org at George Mason University. Bob Inglis (5:40): Yeah, so for my first six years in Congress I said that climate change is nonsense. All I knew was that Al Gore was for it. And as much as I represented Greenville-Spartanburg South Carolina, that was the end of the inquiry. Okay, pretty ignorant. But that’s the way it was my first six years. Out of Congress six years, as you just heard, doing commercial real estate law again and then, had the opportunity to run for the same seat again before, our son had just turned 18, so he was voting for the first time, and he came to me and he said, dad, I’ll vote for you. But you’re going to clean up your act on the environment. His four sisters agreed, his mother agreed. New constituency, you know. So you got to respond to those people who can change the locks on the doors to your house, you know. So, very important to respond to these people. And so that was step one of a three step metamorphosis. Step two was going to Antarctica with the [House of Representatives] Science Committee and seeing the evidence in the iceberg drillings. Step three was another Science Committee trip and, um, really a spiritual awakening which seems improbable, right, on a godless Science Committee trip, because we all know that all scientists are godless. Right? Well, apparently not. Because this Aussie climate scientist was showing me the glories of the Great Barrier Reef. I could see he was worshipping God in what he was showing me. You know, St. Francis of Assisi supposedly said “preach the gospel at all times. If necessary use words.” So Scott Heron, this Aussie climate scientist who’s now become a very dear friend was doing that. I could see it in his eyes, it was written all over his face. It was in his excitement about what he was showing me. He was clearly worshipping God. So I knew we shared a world view. Forty words were spoken. You and I are back together here for another wealth building week. This is get rich education, the Treasury and the Fed keep conspiring to print dollars like crazy, create currency, debasing every single dollar that you're currently holding onto. They are stealing your purchasing power, stealing the value of your work and your grit. It makes dollars pretty fake, since they can just be conjured out of thin air, therefore your job is to convert fake dollars into real assets. That's what you need to do, and this is a strategy that dominates. Like Sydney Sweeney, they print more money, causing inflation, so you have to invest in assets, but then they put a capital gains tax on those assets so that most people never escape inflation. But of course, as real estate investors, we have a strategy to avoid capital gains taxes. Well, I'll talk about that more later.   Keith Weinhold  2:46   I mentioned to you on an earlier episode that I recently attended my high school class reunion in Pennsylvania. It was just a few weeks ago, out in a rural area with a lodge and trees and grass and inflation came up in a conversation between me and a few classmates that was some time before we played cornhole in badminton. I talked about how I sort of enjoy spending money. One classmate replied that he is cheap. I don't really directly respond to something like that, but my preeminent thought when someone says that they're cheap is that life is too short to be cheap. There is a way to guarantee an improvement to your quality of life and your standard of living, and that is spending it can do exactly that invest Well, first, that's an antecedent, and then you can spend now, in the short run, when you're young, living below your means that can make some sense, until you've accumulated some Capital, sure, but when you're age 30 to 35 plus, like my classmates and I are Sheesh, you've got to have yourself figured out better by then than to still be cheap make your quality of life exceed your cost of living, because at least here on Earth, this is your last life ever the risk of too much delayed gratification is denied gratification. So be more frugal with your time than your money. And a lot of people point to external circumstances for their circumstances. Most people wait for the economy to change, not realizing that your mindset is the economy that you live in with each property that you own, you just created another small economy that you are in control of. You are at the top of it. Yeah, you created. Another small economy, the actors in it are you, your tenant, your lender, your property manager, your contractors, your utility companies and more, and you control it all. Most people think wealth is created from high salaries, and they go their entire life, therefore chasing the wrong thing, thinking that wealth is created by high salaries all along it squarely is not you get wealthy by owning things, and you certainly won't get wealthy by being cheap. Now, when it comes to owning things, the government taxes you when you profit on those things during your ownership period of them at sale time through the capital gains tax. And of course, we've talked about the specifics in how real estate investors can completely duck out of that with the 1031 tax deferred exchange. But what about homeowners, primary residence owners, they often have to pay it well. President Trump and Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene recently suggested either removing this tax or reforming it. Now this would require congressional approval, but most members of Congress own their home, so they could very well be in favor of it. And green introduced what is simply called the no tax on home sales act.    Keith Weinhold  6:29   Let's discuss how this can affect you, especially if you're a homeowner, or even if you don't own a home under the current law, which has been in place since 1997 on a primary residence, your first 250k of profit is sheltered from tax if you're single, the first 500k is sheltered if you're married. This is called the primary residence capital gains tax exemption or exclusion. Let's use an example. Say you bought a home years ago for 500k you're married and you sell the home for $1.3 million that's an 800k gain, alright? Since the first 500k is sheltered from capital gains tax, you would therefore have to pay the tax on just 300k on all but the lowest earners, your capital gains tax is 15 to 20% so this means if you sell this home on that 300k of profit, you'd have to pay a tax bill of between $45k and $60k and you might not be done there. You could also be subject to a net investment income tax of 3.8% on top of that, you cannot duck out of this because the 1031 exchange that's only for investment property, not primary residences, like we're talking about today, with home prices on the rise so much over the last five years, how many people exactly could be subject to this tax? 34% of homeowners could exceed the single filer threshold, and 10% could exceed the married filer threshold. Another way to say this is that only about 10% of US homes have more than 500k of equity in them, and it's the homeowners in high cost states that are most likely to be impacted here, New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, California and Hawaii, states like that. So therefore this tax it acts as a deterrent to people selling their homes. Now, what about, say, an elderly person with a really modest income that bought a home in Los Angeles for $30,000 back in 1970 and now it's worth $15 million well, they actually would not get caught in this net, because, like I said, for those with lower incomes, and it's below about 47k for single or 94k married, the capital gains tax rate is zero. For most of you listening again, it's going to be 15 to 20% one reason for the President and others wanting to cancel the capital gains tax on primary residences like this is to get the housing market moving again and get more homes available for sale on the market. Now these 250k and 500k thresholds, they have not moved since 1997 almost 30 years here, they haven't been adjusted for inflation and the median home sales price, it's jumped about 190% in that time it was 145k back in 1997 it's 435k today. So is. Home prices appreciate, more and more people will get caught up in paying the capital gains tax if your home value goes up by 10k That's another 10k that's subject to this 15 to 20% Capital Gains Tax, with that erstwhile possible net investment income tax on top of that. Well, what can you do about this growing capital gains tax obligation that you'll have that a lot of homeowners aren't even aware of? Well, even fewer realize that it is possible to reduce your home sales profit by adding capital improvements. That means making home renovations to the original purchase price. So therefore that home kitchen renovation that you were thinking about doing, well that might not be as costly as you think, if it reduces your capital gains tax at sale time to reset what we're talking about here, it's been proposed that the capital gains tax be removed when you sell your primary residence. Usually, we discuss tax on investment properties here, but this is a significant proposal, and whether it happens or not, it helps you understand the housing market and how to limit your personal tax hit now see if the tax were removed, it could be costly, because it would decrease the government's tax revenue, of course. So in my opinion, what I think is really going to happen here, a more likely course of action would be that instead of eliminating this tax they would just move up the threshold, say, from 250 and 500k up to 500k and $1 million another angle to keep in mind is that relaxing the tax that helps out wealthy people more than it helps the poor. Now, house flippers want to pay particular attention to what happens here, for instance, simply eliminating capital gains tax on house sales that could benefit those who buy and flip homes for profit. If policymakers want to benefit only homeowners, then they need to parse that out. Otherwise, this would be a huge boon to eliminating the capital gains tax on House flippers an absolute godsend, a windfall. In any case, relaxing the tax would mean that homeowners who move they would therefore retain more capital to reinvest in their next property, which you could use to outbid others. What does that do that would drive up home prices even more. I mean talking about the capital gains tax on primary residences, its proposal to be removed and what this would do to the housing market.    Keith Weinhold  12:50   Before I tell you about an interesting real estate investing niche and trend, let's pull back and look at the national housing market. The NAR recently let us know that national home prices hit yet another all time high. The median existing home price reached a record high of $435,300 and that is a 2% increase compared to last year. At this time, it's also the 24th consecutive month of year over year price increases. And you know, it's funny, I recently talked to an investor based in Phoenix that also does a little investing in Las Vegas. She thought that national home prices were falling because she sees a little price flattening in her home area, which is a little overbuilt. Well, prices are up as much as 10% in some areas of the Northeast and Midwest, because those areas are substantially underbuilt. I mean, for some perspective here just one metro area, New York City, one city with its population of over 20 million people, has twice as many people as both Arizona at 7 million and Nevada at just 3 million combined. One city twice as much as two entire states combined with all their cities. So it's remarkable how little perspective some people have see my geography degree holder perspective strikes once more again, national existing home prices are up 2% year over year, nominally, pretty modest growth, not that exciting. And who is doing the buying of these homes supporting and driving up prices. Well fewer and through of them are first time home buyers due to the well documented affordability strain. More and more of them are investors. Just last week, the Wall Street Journal reported that investors are responsible for fully 30% of the purchases of. Of both existing homes and new construction homes this year, and this is the highest share since property analytics firm kotality started tracking it 14 years ago. Investors are really buying today, and what kind of investors? Interestingly, it is people just like you. The Wall Street Journal went on to report that smaller investors who own fewer than 100 homes are doing most of the buying. That's a big change from when massive private equity firms like Blackstone and Starwood Capital Group dominated the market. So this 30% of single family home purchases being made by investors today. Smaller investors are 25% and larger ones only accounted for 5% so yeah, the little guys, people like you, they can take bigger risks because they don't have boards and shareholders to answer to, and plus builders with too much inventory are offering them discounts that were once reserved only for the bigger fish. They're being passed on now to smaller investors like you. That's exactly what the journal went on to say, much like we discussed on the show here last week, where builders are giving massive discounts.    Keith Weinhold  16:22   Well, you probably heard it said that Airbnb doesn't own any real estate. Uber doesn't own any cars. Facebook doesn't own any content, and Tiktok has no original videos. Yet, they all dominate their industries. Well, when you own the real estate, you can make the rules and leverage some of these connector platforms to help you rent out space that you own and increase your income. Do you own any property that's sitting vacant with nothing going on on the lot, perhaps even overgrown with weeds and shrubs. You can use an app like neighbor that helps you rent them out as parking spaces. Neighbor.com customers request your space, and you can approve it. They can park their cars on your space or RVs, boats, boats, trailers. This can be especially lucrative if you're a few miles from an airport, and then there are platforms that let you leverage them, sort of like the Airbnb of storage. Roughly one out of every nine Americans is renting a self storage unit, and that's not even counting all the people searching for a spot to park an extra car, boat or RV. At the same time, there are millions of garages, basements, attics, driveways and backyards sitting underutilized across the country now, platforms like store at my house, Pure Storage and park for share, that one is spelled Park, the number four and share, they're all stepping up to connect people who have extra space with the people that need it. And the result is that renters can typically save 50% or more compared to them using traditional storage companies they can rent from you, and it's often more convenient for renters, since the space they're renting that might be just around the corner instead of across town. Neighbor.com is one of the biggest players in this space, though, its founder, his name's Joseph Woodbury. He says you'd be amazed at what people will pay to store something if the location is good and the price is right, they have had a tiny three foot by five foot closet in Manhattan that rented out in a snap, almost instantly in Woodbury. He even uses the platform himself, leasing part of his own driveway to someone with a camper. Now, you probably want to check with your HOA before you do something like that. But like Airbnb neighbor, they earn money by taking a cut of the host's revenue. But unlike Airbnb neighbor, hosts average just 16 minutes per month managing their listings now Woodbury, the neighbor.com owner, he calls it the most efficient, least time intensive form of passive income in America. And the peer to peer storage trend, that's become a great entry point for new investors, especially those that aren't ready to buy a full property. But it's also catching the eye of experience real estate investors who want to squeeze more cash flow out of the land that you already own. Some are turning unused sheds into rentable storage units. Others are converting open acreage into long term parking. I know someone that's hosting campers and. RVs on his 10 acres in Florida, and he expects to earn about $100,000 this year alone from that land. And they say it's mostly hands off. And now, whenever he buys he looks for acreage plus a home so that he can generate multiple income streams from one property. Well, can this peer storage and parking shake up the $500 billion self storage and parking industry the same way that Airbnb rattled the hotel world? Some think the potential is huge, with national occupancy rates for storage centers hovering around 93% there really is not any sign that the market is oversupplied. In fact, even public storage, that's the company name, public storage, they are the country's largest self storage space operator, even they use neighbor to help lease out their leftover inventory, and so do some REITs that have extra space at their office, retail or apartment properties. And as far as the types of listings, people are getting creative on these platforms. They're monetizing everything from empty barns to church parking lots. Think about how much of the week church parking lots sit vacant to vacant strip mall storefronts, and they're using that as parking so more and more people are realizing that there's hidden value in the real estate that they already own, and you can too. If you own the real estate, you make the rules. So check out those four platforms that I mentioned, if you think it can benefit you to increase the income at your properties in this growing peer to peer storage and parking industry. It was around 2010 when Airbnb really started to take off and really take market share away from hotels, and today, these platforms like neighbor store at my house, peer storage and park for share, are taking market share away from traditional, centralized self storage spaces to review what you've learned so far today, if you're going to Live life full time, you can't be perpetually cheap. Be aware of the primary residence capital gains tax and its elimination proposal. You're not working, you're not going to get a job, you you're not going to school, you're not doing none of that like Ma. I'm saying how I'm supposed to be successful in life, huh? So you basically telling me I gotta I gotta be broke to be successful. I got to be broke so I can get section eight. Government can help you. So the government can help me. So you telling me I can't work, no job, bro. Like, that's like, all my friends got jobs and live and nice houses. So you telling me I got the I got to go through the same thing you went through if you have a house, any of that, they're going to take my section eight. How? What they be like,no, they will look at that and be like, he's doing something. And give me a bigger house. Ma, that's what you told me. I can get off your section eight and apply for my own section eight. Okay, but if you do that, you're gonna have to go the hard way. It's gonna take a long so what? That's what I'm saying. Get on Section Eight. Find you a nice apartment, go get you a link card. You will be fine. You don't have to sit up and work. You don't have to work, no job, if the government is here to help us.   Keith Weinhold  27:11   Gosh, this mom won't let her son work, or else she'll lose their government section eight housing benefit, where taxpayers pay for most of their housing. And by the way, is this real? Is this a rage bait skit? I can't quite tell, but it surfaces some interesting questions. For sure, it is true that section eight housing voucher recipients like her can lose their benefits if the household earns more and exceeds a certain threshold. Gosh, here's the youth that wants to do something and maybe be better and have more than his parents. You should want what's best for your child? Some parents have to beg their children to get a job. This kid is willing to go out and see what he's capable of doing. This eaglet is looking to leave the nest, and you're clipping his wings, and yes, you the listener, are the one paying for their housing. There's no such thing as a free government program, because taxpayers like you and I fund the government section eight housing is therefore tax payer funded at one point. The mom says the government is here to help us. Yeah, this woman is making you poorer. This is where the taxes that get knocked out of your paycheck are going. You're working at a job, spending less time with the people you love, and maybe doing fewer of the activities you love so that she can perpetuate a culture of laziness and government dependency. Another successful entrepreneur or employee is not making you poorer, this woman is making you poorer. Thomas Sowell said it best. He is an author and a senior fellow at the Hoover Institution. He's got a lot of brilliant thoughts. Soul famously said, I have never understood why it is greed to want to keep the money you have earned, but not greed to want to take somebody else's money. That's Thomas Sowell. Now it's possible that this woman couldn't get a job that would pay so much more than the section eight income ceiling that it would be worth her getting one. She said there that she doesn't have a job at all. Maybe she has a disability, but there's a video of this. You can see the video. She doesn't appear to be disabled, but the appalling part is that she's discouraging her son from working now. Understand some section eight tenants do work full time jobs, but they're almost certainly going to be really low paying like, say, washing dishes for a restaurant. Section Eight is supposed to be a temporary program. It's supposed to be helpful, not a hindrance. It is a federal program. It's administered by HUD, and it pays the rent money for low income people, allowing them to rent housing out in the private open market. The program has high demand and some long, long waiting lists. They can be years long, even a decade long, waiting list for Section Eight housing some housing authorities even close their wait lists entirely due to the length the overwhelming demand and understand as well, veterans and the elderly are probably on a wait list, waiting for substantially younger people like her to get off the program to qualify for Section Eight, most families need an income below 50% of the area's median income, and your criminal background check has got to be clear, so you don't need to pass some high bar to get into the program. Now, in reality, a large share of the benefit recipients have an income that's under 30% of an area's median and how much of your rent does section eight pay? Participants typically pay a portion of their monthly income toward rent, usually around 30% they pay around 30% where section eight pays 70% I once run into a section eight tenant, and the tenant paid closer to 20% while the program paid 80% for you. And by the way, landlords don't have to accept section eight tenants. It is voluntary, and it pays landlords about the market rate in hot housing markets with fast rising rents. Well, you probably don't want to accept section eight because a regular, unsubsidized tenant is often going to pay you more in a slow rental market, Section Eight is better for landlords. Now, some landlords like section eight because it is guaranteed rent income, but some don't like it because they say they get low quality tenants. Well, foreign landlord can rent to a section eight tenant, a person called a case manager inspects the unit, and I think I shared with you before that, the first one that inspected mine, they wrote me up because they said that one of my Windows didn't open all the way. I fixed it, and the tenant stayed two years before they moved. But the average duration of time that a tenant spends in the program is six to nine years. It is supposed to be a short term bridge, but often becomes a long term subsidy people get dependent on the handout. HUD tells us that only one in seven families leave the program due to increased income, and there is a strong stigma around section eight housing, for sure. Who knows? To shake the stigma, maybe they will just change the name of the program. That happens sometimes, sort of like how they changed the name of the food stamps program to snap. And by the way, the link card that she mentioned in the video that is for food assistance. That's actually the name of the snap card in the state of Illinois. Oh, dear God bless America, training her kids to live off the government. I almost feel trashy after thinking about this. I'm probably going to go shower next now. Should the minimum wage be high enough that everyone can afford at least a one bedroom apartment, and therefore people wouldn't need section eight? Well, the federal minimum wage is $7.25 it's been stuck there since 2009 the economic commentator Peter Schiff, who I had lunch with a couple times last month, he and his wife Peter, makes the case that there should be no minimum wage at all. That is government intervention in the free market. If you make the minimum wage too high, people get laid off and people get replaced by robots. That's just what's really happened in practice, if a person can only make the minimum wage, they need to get better, and they need to skill up, is what Peter contends. Now, when I graduated college, I would have thought that premise sounded ridiculous. No minimum wage. But the more I think about it and the more I experience life, it does begin to make more sense. The fresh post collegiate me would have said that, ah, a working human being, they deserve the dignity of a minimum wage. That's livable, but some time and perspective has me saying that you are the one that brings dignity to your work, your earning potential and your life. It's not up to someone else to provide you with dignity. You don't lean on the government for your dignity. Learn more, be better, skill up. You'll be dignified, and you're going to earn multiples more than minimum wage. When it comes to the section eight, mom, everyone would like to live at the expense of the state, but few realize that the state lives at the expense of everyone else. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus Cuban pastor harassed Cuban pastor Maikel Velázquez vanished about 14 hours after delivering epilepsy medication to a friend's granddaughter on July 9th in the island country, reports International Christian Concern. Velázquez delivered the medicine to the granddaughter of Marta Benites, whose sons were imprisoned for participating in a peaceful protest in July 2021 in San José de las Lajas, Mayabeque. Immediately after the delivery, Velázquez was abruptly barred from entering the Benites home. Moments after completing a phone call with another pastor, he disappeared. His phone was instantly switched off, severing all contact. Pastors from the Alliance of Christians of Cuba launched a search for Velázquez, combing hospitals, detention centers, and police stations — yet their efforts yielded no clue to his whereabouts. At around 2:00 a.m. on July 10th, Velázquez was discovered outside his home, clearly shaken after enduring a traumatic interrogation and serious threats. When questioned, he would not disclose details of the incident and behaved erratically, sometimes yelling and at other times falling eerily silent. Pastor Velázquez's abduction is only the most recent in a string of alarming cases of pastoral harassment in Cuba. In John 15:18, Jesus said, “If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated Me first.” According to Open Doors, Cuba is the 26th most dangerous country worldwide for Christians. Corporation for Public Broadcasting is shutting down The Corporation for Public Broadcasting announced it is shutting down, reports American Family Radio. Congress created it in 1967 with the Public Broadcasting Act in order to promote educational and cultural programming that was not being done by the three broadcast networks.  With a current half-billion dollar annual budget, the Corporation for Public Broadcasting is now most known for overseeing liberal news outlet National Public Radio and the liberal network PBS. Back in May, President Trump signed an executive order to stop taxpayer funded biased media. Republican-hating NPR sued to challenge that order and told the court any decision to cut off funding must come from Congress.  With that challenge in the courts, the White House sent a rescissions package to Congress in late May. The GOP-led House passed the measure 214-212. In the U.S. Senate, Vice President J.D. Vance cast the tie vote for passage.  Heritage Foundation senior fellow Mike Gonzalez said a nation that is $36 trillion in debt should not be paying for news coverage that tells half the country to "get lost" because of its political beliefs.  HR15 enables perversion and abortion for public school minors Liberty Counsel took a case to the U.S. Supreme Court to ensure that parents  are allowed to opt their children out of homosexual and transgender indoctrination in public schools. However, if House Resolution 15 passes, it will open the floodgates and will force parents, counselors, and teachers to celebrate this destructive behavior. This bill has been introduced in both the current U.S. House and Senate. HR 15 — the misnamed “Equality Act” — will be a nightmare for everyone, warns Liberty Counsel Action. Every Democrat has signed on to the bill. And some Republicans voted for a prior version of HR 15. The margins are slim, and we could lose this battle if we remain silent. The battle in Congress will be fierce, but we must stop this bill for four reasons. First, if the child becomes confused by the propaganda at public schools — mandated by HR 15 — to think a person can choose their sex like they choose clothes, there will be no one to help them learn the truth. The child can demand hormone-blocking drugs (stopping puberty), opposite-sex hormones, and even surgery to remove healthy body parts. Parents will have no say, nor will the hospitals, health care providers, or pharmacists. Insurance and taxpayer funds will cover the expense. If the parents object, this will be considered child abuse, and the child could be removed from the home. Second, if someone pressures a young girl to get an abortion, she will have no one to protect her from this life-and-death decision. The so-called Equality Act will make abortion a federal right through all nine months. It will pre-empt every state law — including parental notification or consent and informed consent. The parents will have no say, nor will the hospitals, health care workers, or pharmacists.  Insurance companies cannot refuse coverage, and our taxes will fund the killing of innocent life. If parents, health care providers, or pharmacists resist the abortion, they can be sued by the U.S. Department of Justice, private individuals, and organizations — including Planned Parenthood. Third, if the child asks the parents for help to overcome unwanted homosexual attractions, behaviors, or gender confusion, there will be no one to help. The so-called Equality Act will make it illegal to provide any such counsel to help overcome these unwanted attractions, behaviors, or confusion. In fact, this bill makes such counsel illegal for all ages and for any counsel — licensed and unlicensed — and this includes pastoral counseling. Fourth, this dangerous bill will require Christian adoption and foster care ministries to place children in homosexual and transgender homes. And remember, the “Q” in LGBTQ encompasses nearly 550 paraphilias — which includes pedophilia! There will be no one to help these innocent children! In Matthew 18:6, Jesus said, “If anyone causes one of these little ones—those who believe in Me—to stumble, it would be better for them to have a large millstone hung around their neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea.” Send faxes to Congress to stop the so-called Equality Act from endangering public school kids.  We have the special link for you in the transcript today at www.TheWorldview.com. White House Ballroom to add 90,000 square feet and cost $200 million And finally, the White House is about to get a major physical upgrade – a new ballroom. Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt made the announcement. LEAVITT:  “We are proud to announce that the construction of the new White House ballroom will begin. For 150 years, presidents, administrations and White House staff have longed for a large event space on the White House complex that can hold substantially more guests than currently allowed. President Trump has expressed his commitment to solving this problem on behalf of future administrations and the American people. “The White House is currently unable to host major functions, honoring world leaders and other countries, without having to install a large and unsightly tent approximately 100 yards away from the main building's entrance. “The White House State ballroom will be a much needed and exquisite addition of approximately 90,000 total square feet of carefully crafted space, with a seated capacity of 650 people, which is a significant increase from the 200-person seated capacity in the East Room of the White House.” Leavitt revealed the price tag and that it would not be paid for with tax dollars. This week on the Mark Levin Show, On Monday's Mark Levin Show, Europe didn't do a anything to take on Hamas after the October 7th attacks, instead they push Israel to surrender. Europe is historically tied to evils like the Holocaust, Nazism, Stalinism, and Marxism, now conquered by radical Islamists through open borders. The Biden administration, Democrats, left-wing forces in media/academia, and isolationists undermined Israel, who could have ended the war sooner without interference. What's happening in Gaza is that people are going without food. Why? Israel isn't starving them. This is a last desperate move by Hamas to save itself by slaughtering its own people. Later, the Allied bombing of Dresden in February 1945 was a terror campaign targeting civilians in a non-military city, resulting in massive casualties via firestorms from British and U.S. air raids. The modern hypocrisy from U.K. and French leaders, who pressure Israel over Gaza—blaming it for starvation caused by Hamas, demanding ceasefires, and threatening Palestinian state recognition—while ignoring their own countries' declines due to open borders and radical Islamists, and applying impossible standards to Israel that no nation, including the U.S, would accept for itself. Zohran Mamdani recently returned from a lavish, expensive wedding in Uganda featuring a walled estate and armed guards, funded by capitalists rather than the government. He portrays himself as the victim while yelling at Andrew Cuomo and Eric Adams. Don't believe a word Mamdani says, he would defund the police and disarm the citizen. The 2020 U.S. Census contained significant errors, overcounting populations in blue states, while undercounting in red states leading to misallocated congressional seats that favored Democrats and cost Republicans about five seats. This widened Trump's Electoral College victory margin and tightened House control more than warranted. In response, Texas Republicans are holding a special legislative session to redraw congressional districts, potentially gaining up to five more GOP seats in the 2026 midterms. The move echoes a 2003 gerrymander, with Democrats decrying it as hypocritical given their own history of similar tactics in blue states, but it's necessary since Democrats don't play fair. Also, a two-state solution for Israel and Palestine would carve up Israel's indigenous lands and holy sites to create a terrorist state aimed at destroying Israel. Arab nations reject Palestinians while forcing concessions on Israel. Imagine what would have happened if President Trump wasn't President – the destruction of Israel by terrorists, Marxists, European quislings, the UN, and anti-Semitic elements worldwide, including in the Democrat Party, media, academia, podcasters, influencers, and isolationists. Later, death penalty practices in red states are superior to those in blue states, as the executions of these monstrous criminals are warranted. Afterward, On Power explains that history is filled with tyrants seizing power under the guise of liberty, such as in Marxist regimes where promises of liberation through class warfare and collectivism lead to genocidal police states. This finding declared that greenhouse gas emissions pose a danger to public health and welfare, enabling extensive regulations such as the Clean Power Plan and costing over $1 trillion in compliance.  The proposed rescission aims to eliminate burdensome rules, saving small businesses at least $170 billion and reducing regulatory overreach on emissions standards for vehicles and power plants.
