[Heb 10:1-13] The shadows only served to show the need for the substance. How necessary it was for Christ to come into the world to fulfill all that the Old Covenant was powerless to do!
My compassion for Haitians is rooted in horrors I witnessed and experienced throughout the 1980s under White House/Pentagon level MK Ultra mind control. I could relate to their tortured traumatized state due to my own. My 1995 testimony for Congress TRANCE Formation of America detailing Clintons, Bushes, CIA, and Jesuit involvement in drug and human trafficking ops in Haiti was censored under National Security. This is a National Security that threatens the security of our nation and world when it covers up unconscionable crimes against humanity such as those inflicted on the Haitian population. My concerns now for the strategic placement of illegal immigrant programmed Haitians throughout the US by the Harris/Biden globalist cabal is rooted in the plan I witnessed being created, which is now unfolding. An army of MK Ultra voodoo mind controlled assassins were being programmed, with a dual plan to take ownership of their land while they are activated abroad. Who is moving in on ownership of Haiti? Are Clintons still involved in this Invasion Warfare black op? Follow the money! In the 1980s, destabilization was activated through Baby Doc Duvalier's regime which had close ties to Clintons and Bushes. In an effort to bring the Haitian population numbers down to a more manageable size, mass genocide through AIDs vaccines commenced. It was my experience that the Jesuits and CIA New World Order of the Rose alliance dominated the Dominican Republic side of the Hispaniola island as led from the Citadel by General Cedras. TRANCE p. 191CIA and Jesuit control in the Dominican Republic is notorious. Hispaniola island is divided by mountains that corral the Haitians into their side which I describe as the Dominican Republic's petri dish of dark human experimentation. Voodoo and Jesuit satanism are ultimately one in the same as a trauma base for robotic MK Ultra mind control. Cannibalism is one of many common threads weaved between the two, while children are tortured, raped, and harvested. Baby Doc's Haitians experienced tortures that far exceeded starvation. Especially those who would become his Tonton army. Zombies were created through drugs and rituals of victims being buried alive. I saw people raised in small cages intended to misshape their bodies as they grew. Resultant contortionists and crab walkers are not uncommon! Hillary Clinton's satanic pre-cursor to Adrenochrome that was in full operation in 1977 was rooted in Haiti. Hillary's adrenochrome ops paralleled Bill's CIA cocaine ops, which ran directly from the Caribbean through Louisiana into Arkansas. Voodoo culture is rampant in New Orleans because of the importation of Haitians Clintons enslaved back then to run their criminal, sanctioned crimes. What kind of Haitian army has been created now? It had been found through Hitler/Himmler research that after 3 generations any knowledge base, abuse base, or belief system becomes inherently autogenic in the brain. Not only has trauma based mind control of generations heightened suggestibility of the Haitian population, there also are many who are outraged knowing that Clintons contributed to their condition. Their dashed hopes that Clinton's blatant crimes perpetrated on Haiti would be prosecuted and stopped once the American population became aware has left them embittered. Any Haitians capable of thinking to flee the island certainly wouldn't be jumping from that man-made hell into the fire for relief. Mind control must be factored into the equation! It is no wonder the Harris/Biden globalist cabal has strategically placed the mass influx of illegal programmed Haitians in key states! We've spent the last 9 episodes looking back. Now, we look forward. On the 10th and final episode of Rezzer Rewind, Resultant CEO Greg Layok previews Resultant's next chapter. When Greg joined Resultant in 2023, he brought with him an impressive track record of growing consulting firms at the highest levels. He's also super smart, down-to-earth, and very optimistic about what the future holds. Spoiler alert: The road ahead is paved with possibility. What's in a name? Contrary to Shakespeare's iconic line, names matter. In 2020, the consultancy founded under Katz, Sapper & Miller decided it was time for an identity all its own. But rather than thinking about what would “sell,” it instead focused on what was true. On this episode of Rezzer Rewind, rebrand pioneer Mary Catharine Grau shares why the Resultant brand was developed to reflect Rezzers, rather than attract customers. You'll hear: How Mary Catharine applied Resultant's problem-solving approach to the brand Why a prospective name was a total bust A little-known story of how the rebrand almost didn't happen Find Mary Catharine Grau on LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/marycatharinegrau/ [02:06 - 05:53] Meet Mary Catharine Grau, consultant and Resultant's first marketer [06:54 - 10:03] Pivotal pieces of the new brand [10:04 - 13:08] Why a brand is the outward reflection of values [13:11 - 15:56] How we knew it was time to “be ourselves” [16:00 - 19:21] A “people-centric” approach to rebranding [19:22 - 22:17] What's in a name? When you read about M&A in the news, it usually comes across as very “spreadsheety.” Black and white. Hard numbers. Dollar signs. But the headlines only tell one side of the story. M&A is really about people—blending two separate organizations with distinct cultures, values, and goals into a one, unified team. It's a deeply human process, and one that triggers a lot of emotions. Between 2019 and 2022, Resultant acquired four companies. ConnectThink was the first; Teknion, the last. On this episode of Rezzer Rewind, you'll hear raw, human perspectives from both. Justin Bolles (ConnectThink) and Will Grey (Teknion) join Mark to share reflections and behind-the-scenes stories. You'll hear how the ConnectThink acquisition almost didn't happen, Resultant “accidental values” in action, and all the emotional ups and downs along the way. Conventional wisdom would say that talent acquisition and recruiting is HR's job. Not at Resultant. Since the beginning, finding exceptional people has been everyone's job. And as VP of Talent Kate Gerber put it, this approach lent itself to a culture where growth and development were “baked in” versus the icing on top. In the sixth installment of Rezzer Rewind, you'll hear how Resultant's career and talent philosophies have evolved over time—earning the org many “top workplace” designations along the way. Kate gets vulnerable about “living on the edge of her capability” and continuing to show up through the messy parts of growing a business. Consulting often gets a bad rap in pop culture. Some consultants are portrayed as full of hot air—all style and no substance. Others: cold, calculating, and profit-driven. Neither represents the reality of being a Resultant consultant. So, what makes for a great consultant? How do they think? What do they do? We talked to two phenomenal consultants to find out. Jess Carter, Resultant VP of Client Experience & Delivery Operations and host of the Data-Driven Leadership podcast, has spent the last 10 years leading data projects where the stakes were (sometimes) life and death. Ryan Gould, VP of Managed Services Sales and Solutions and the unofficial “411 of IT,” has been building Resultant's MSP practice for more than 14 years—first as a consultant and then as a leader. In their conversation with Mark, Jess, and Ryan discuss how they built their consulting careers and “wow'd” clients along the way. “Fake it til you make it, “ Mark advised soon after rescuing me from the Wash DC human trafficking swamp. “Predators, abusers, and puppet-tears know exactly what signs of heightened suggestibility to look for. CIA and FBI are trained to look for those specific traits. Hell, even cult leaders are savvy to signs of heightened suggestibility resultant from abuse these ‘daze' so be aware of the signs they are looking for and fake it til you make it.”I do not know how I could have survived those first months and even years of healing from MK Ultra mind control had I not heeded Mark's wise advice. Today I see numerous survivors ignorantly displaying neon signs of abuse and ultimately being triggered back into abuse bases and under mind control. It is easy for survivors to recognize other survivors, telepathically, energetically and through physical signs. Those of us who have healed from within our selves to reclaim self control and inner peace need to alert other survivors to their signs of vulnerability so they, too, can ‘fake it til they make it'.Depersonalization results from extreme dissociation to the point victims do not consciously see themselves in a mirror. This results in displays of extreme appearance in a subconscious effort to assert pleas for help that victims struggling to become survivors cannot think to voice. Depersonalization can become so extreme from unspeakable trauma that victims lose their ability to feel or register pain anymore. Often this is displayed in excessive piercings and tattoos in sensitive areas. Subconscious displays of abuse can also double as asserted effort to offend or repel others when in fact it also invites more abuse from predators looking for those signs. My experience under MK Ultra mind control on a White House/Pentagon level included control of my appearance. How I walked, when I talked, and how I was dressed were all controlled through programming. I deprogrammed the program first, writing out detailed instruction of my programmers. I even heard their voices in my head saying, “walk this way” until I wrote it out. By activating the logic part of my brain through moving a pen, neuron pathways in my brain re-opened, freeing compartmentalized memory and allowing for my own natural physical expression of walking. My gait changed once and for all, never reverting back to programmed mannerisms. Mannerisms that are recognizable even in children include a fixed gaze on genital areas. This is often a defense mechanism of ‘sizing up' abuse that also reflects heightened sexuality obsession. In a silent plea for help, the fixed gaze may also be a pleading look at passerbys, into cars, or staring at the ground avoiding eye contact. Be mindful of your gaze, while understanding extended gaze without blinking indicates dissociation and ultimately vulnerability.Stun guns were commonly used for mind control back when I endured MK Ultra programming. Resultant stun gun electric prod ‘burns' were strategically left as indicators on strategic parts of my body as a signifier to those in the know what I was programmed to do. These stun gun burns turned into ‘beauty mark' moles signifying message delivery, oral sex, and more. I had those moles removed since they were a trigger to me and signifier to abusers. I did not have visible rose or monarch tattoos as many other MK Ultra victims did since my decorative signifiers were usually displayed in jewelry, which ultimately was easy to remove!Mark explained extreme hair design and color are reflective of depersonalization and heightened suggestibility, akin to a target painted on the highly suggestible. Additionally, severity of pulling back hair like a ninja in a desperate display of clearing 44x acuity peripheral vision as a subconscious defense mechanism can also signify extreme abuse.
It's not hard to start a consulting firm. Hence, there are a lot of consulting firms. But there are not a lot of consulting firms that have grown as consistently as Resultant has. Between the beginning of 2019 and the end of 2022, Resultant: Acquired four companies in four different cities Grew its workforce from 60 employees to over 500 More than doubled revenue Grew organically by 25% per year and inorganically by 10% per year Established itself as a leader in shaping how public and private sector organizations unlock opportunities with data and technology The big question is: why? What makes Resultant different? Why did Resultant grow while others didn't? In the fourth installment of Rezzer Rewind, Mark taps long-timer rezzers Josh Wakefield and Ryan Achterberg to answer this question. “Berg” was Resultant's first employee on the IT MSP side, and employee #11 “Wakes” started project managed the firm's very first public sector client. In their conversation, you'll hear: How nobody knew what they were doing (at first) and why that ended up being critical to Resultant's success Where Resultant's obsession with understanding—and solving—problems came from What it looks like to “own” outcomes from a (very) long-term perspective How great consulting saves lives and companies Follow Josh Wakefield and Ryan Achterberg on LinkedIn: Josh “Wakes” Wakefield: https://www.linkedin.com/in/josh-wakefield-625b1710/ Ryan “Berg” Achterberg: https://www.linkedin.com/in/ryanachterberg/ Jump in: [02:09 - 04:44] Ryan Achterberg's Resultant origin story [04:45 - 05:50] Josh Wakefield's Resultant origin story [06:08 - 10:23] There are a lot of IT MSPs. Let's be honest: A lot of company core values are just words on a wall. It's rare to find core values embedded in employees' organic, day-to-day lived experience. It's even rarer when a company's clients and vendors are just as well-versed in its values as employees. And it's EXTREMELY rare when an organization is willing to be honest with itself about its “aspirational” and “accidental” values. In this episode, you'll hear Resultant's innovative president John Roach describe how Resultant came to be all of the above. John was key to the hard and important process of putting unspoken values into words as the company grew—and then revisiting them year after year. You'll hear John discuss: The difficulty translating abstract values into concrete terms Why having 14 values is the same as having zero The importance of honestly examining “accidental” and “aspirational” values Why Design Thinking isn't a workshop but a cultural mindset Find John on LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/johnmroach/ Jump In: [00:33 - 04:40] John Roach's road to Resultant [05:32 - 07:12] Where Resultant's values came from [08:43 - 10:49] "If you have 14 values, you have zero values" [10:50 - 13:03] The aspirational values realization [13:04 - 17:52] Accidental values: things we value that we wish we didn't [18:10 - 24:27] Let's get this straight: Design Thinking isn't a workshop [24:27 - 28:34] John's #1 piece of career advice [30:37 - 34:50] The importance of precision of language and ongoing discovery Additional Resources: Design Thinking 101: https://resultant.com/about/approach/design-thinking/ More on Resultant's approach and core values: https://resultant.com/about/approach/
Who doesn't love a good plot twist? Mark Caswell's story has a few. Resultant's second CEO stumbled into consulting after starting his career in aerospace engineering. Following his curiosity, Mark landed at Resultant, thinking it would be a quick stopover. Six years later, he found himself in the cockpit—right as the business was really taking off. It was exciting. It was terrifying. But through it all, Mark brought wisdom and a sense of groundedness to every role he's held—even the ones without a formal title. In his conversation with Kate, Mark gets vulnerable about the ups, downs, and everything in between. How is ministerial authority maintained- 1Timothy 4-12-16 looks forward to the second reading in morning public worship on the coming Lord's Day. In these five verses of Holy Scripture, the Holy Spirit teaches us that ministerial authority is maintained by taking heed to oneself first, and then with a diligence already demonstrated in one's own progress, to direct others in theirs.

Contributor: Nick Hatch, MD Educational Pearls: “Smiling Death” describes the prehospital phenomenon of a person who is happy to be extricated from an extended period of crush injury, but dies suddenly soon after the rescue. Smiling Death is caused by Crush Syndrome. Crush Syndrome begins when large areas of tissue are damaged by compression and subsequent impeded blood flow. Resultant cell death is followed by release of myoglobin and efflux of electrolytes including potassium. Upon removal of the crushing force, high levels of potassium enter circulation and cause cardiac arrhythmias leading to sudden death. Prevention measures include aggressive hydration using normal saline before extrication. An acceptable starting rate is 1L per hour, but providers should take patient status into consideration and titrate appropriately. Standard techniques for controlling hyperkalemia by intracellular shifting may be less effective. Early dialysis may be useful. References Gonzalez D. Crush syndrome. Forgetting God Genesis 12:10-20 5.29.22 Pastor Tony Felich ----more----Genesis 12:10 Now there was a famine in the land. So Abram went down to Egypt to sojourn there, for the famine was severe in the land. [11] When he was about to enter Egypt, he said to Sarai his wife, “I know that you are a woman beautiful in appearance, [12] and when the Egyptians see you, they will say, ‘This is his wife.' Then they will kill me, but they will let you live. [13] Say you are my sister, that it may go well with me because of you, and that my life may be spared for your sake.” [14] When Abram entered Egypt, the Egyptians saw that the woman was very beautiful. [15] And when the princes of Pharaoh saw her, they praised her to Pharaoh. And the woman was taken into Pharaoh's house. [16] And for her sake he dealt well with Abram; and he had sheep, oxen, male donkeys, male servants, female servants, female donkeys, and camels. [17] But the LORD afflicted Pharaoh and his house with great plagues because of Sarai, Abram's wife. [18] So Pharaoh called Abram and said, “What is this you have done to me? Why did you not tell me that she was your wife? [19] Why did you say, ‘She is my sister,' so that I took her for my wife? Now then, here is your wife; take her, and go.” [20] And Pharaoh gave men orders concerning him, and they sent him away with his wife and all that he had. Even “model” Christians can forget God in their daily lives, which unsurprisingly causes difficulty. (See Abram as a case study) 1. Begraced by God (Genesis 12:1-9 recap) 2. Forgetful concerning God (getting off mission) (12:10-13) 3. Resultant difficulties (the mission temporarily hobbled) (12:14-20)

Marion County Prosecutor Ryan Mears told IBJ last week that he hasn't decided whether his office will move to the new Community Justice Campus, which remains under construction in the Twin Aire neighborhood. The office was expected to be part of a second office building that Browning Investments planned to build at the site to complement a jail, Sheriff's Office and court system that will be moving to the campus at the end of the year. Host Mason King talks with IBJ reporters Leslie Bonilla Muñiz and Mickey Shuey about their reporting on the topic, including the reasons Mears gave for his hesitancy and why the mayor wants the prosecutor at the campus. It was about six years ago when Indianapolis arts organization Big Car bought an old factory in the Garfield Park neighborhood and started working on a plan to create an arts campus there. Fast forward to today and the group owns the Tube Factory Artspace in that former factory, an audio art space that houses a radio station, nine houses it has renovated for artists and another factory—this one 40,000 square feet—that it is starting to renovate. At emergency rooms across central Indiana, “No Vacancy” signs are flashing at unprecedented rates. Emergency rooms are often overflowing with patients, prompting hospitals to divert ambulances to other hospitals for hours at a stretch, provided the cases aren't life-threatening. On July 26, for example, at least 10 large hospitals in central Indiana went on diversion at some point, causing ambulance drivers to look high and low for a place to take their patients. In the latest edition of the IBJ Podcast, reporter John Russell explains that this is the latest indication that local and area hospitals are struggling with a growing nursing shortage and, to a lesser extent, that the pandemic is roaring back to life. Unfortunately, it's very difficult to pin hospitals down on just how often this has been happening. No federal or state agency tracks ambulance diversions or requires the hospitals to report it, so the fine details are closely guarded secrets. While intense heat waves and wildfires scorch the Western U.S. and freak rainstorms spawn massive floods in Europe and China, the weather in central Indiana has been fairly tame so far this year. Indeed, Indiana very well could sidestep some of the most extreme effects of climate change, but don't get lulled into complacency, says Jeffrey Dukes, director of the Purdue Climate Change Research Center and a professor of forestry and natural resources. Indiana's weather already has been altered by man-made climate change, and the effects could be significantly more intense in coming decades, Dukes says. Since 1895, Indiana's statewide annual average temperature has risen by 1.3°F, and some models show it rising another 5°F by mid-century. Winters will be shorter and the number of days above 95°F could rise by dozens per year. The state also is getting wetter. Since 1895, average annual precipitation in Indiana has increased by about 15%, or about 5.6 inches. Models show winters and springs are likely to be much wetter by mid-century. Heavy rain events will increase flooding risks and increase the amount of pollutants washing into waterways from city streets and farm fields. In this week's edition of the IBJ Podcast, Dukes explains to host Mason King how these changes will impact our day-to-day lives and some of the state's most important industries, such as agriculture, energy and tourism and recreation. Indy Chamber last month was recognized by its peers for work it has been doing that's not quite typical of chambers of commerce nationwide. The group won the 2021 Chamber of the Year award from an association that represents 1,600 chambers and economic development organizations. And it earned the honor for the work it has done on inclusive growth—primarily a rework of the city's economic incentives program—and for the Rapid Response Hub it deployed during the pandemic. Guest host Lesley Weidenbener interviews Indy Chamber CEO Michael Huber and the group's director of economic development, Vincent Ash, about the programs and the honor. The Sweets & Snacks Expo, hosted by the National Confectioners Association, is typically held in Chicago. But when the Windy City wasn't yet recovered enough from the pandemic to host this year's event, the group decided to come to Indianapolis. IBJ reporter Mickey Shuey talks with John Downs, the CEO of the association, to find out how the group decided to become one of the first trade shows to meet in person again and why it picked Indianapolis to host the show. Shuey asks about the group's experience in Indy and whether it might return. You can also read a column by Downs at IBJ.com. The IBJ Podcast is brought to you by Resultant, formerly KSM Consulting.
In the mood for some barbecue? Or maybe some poke? A peanut butter and jelly sandwich? Or maybe just a cold beer? It's all available at the AMP food hall at the 16 Tech Innovation District on the northwest edge of downtown. And Chef Craig Baker is the coordinator who has has helped make it all happen. He crafted the overall feel of the 40,000-square-foot space in the HqO building at 1220 Waterway Blvd., which includes shipping containers and booths for each restaurant and retailer. But each of the eateries is responsible for their space, creating a eclectic spot for lunch or an event. Baker talked with host Mason King about how the space came together—and why, for him, success will be when some of those same eateries grow up and move out. For more about what's opening this month at the AMP, check out this story by reporter Susan Orr. The IBJ Podcast is brought to you by Resultant, formerly KSM Consulting.
The Newfields board last month elected Darrianne Christian as its new chair, making her the first Black woman to lead the museum's board. Christian was already serving on the board in February when the Newfields president resigned following allegations of racial bias. Christian, who was then the board's only African American member, led the effort to develop the institution's new plan to embrace diversity, equity, inclusion and access. Christian talks with host Mason King about what the museum is doing to get past the controversy and how her background growing up in poverty is helping her move Newfields in new directions. How often have you attempted dumbbell presses with half the weight of your barbell bench? That should work, right? After all, if your barbell is balanced, you should have equal weight on both sides. But unless you’re working with a pretty light barbell load, you recognized that splitting the weight in half doesn’t equate to a comparable workout. You may think the challenge is related to shoulder stability, but you may want to think again. This is a biomechanics issue, which keeps you “In The Moment.” Listen as Dr. J and GG deconstruct the biomechanics of barbell and dumbbell presses, and even toss an interesting perspective into the debate over fixed path v free weight exercises. We’re ramping up the math and physics in this episode, but not to worry, you’ll get all the information you need to apply these concepts yourself, and decide; barbell, dumbbell or both? In this episode we discuss: Forces as vectors How forces combine and resolve Normal forces Angle of incidence Shoulder moments Elbow moments Do dumbbells offer more “freedom” than machines? Glossary: Angle of incidence - the angular difference between a normal force and an applied force vector Normal Force - a force which contacts a plane at a perpendicular angle Resultant - the product of the combined effects of two or more component vectors Scalar Quantity - A quantity that is fully described by a magnitude alone Vector Quantity - a quantity that is described by both magnitude and direction References: Duffey, M. and Challis, J. Abstract: Background: Amphetamine-type stimulants (ATS) have become a critical public health issue. Animal models have indicated a clear neurotoxic potential of ATSs. In humans, chronic use has been associated with cognitive deficits and structural brain abnormalities. However, cross-sectional retrospective designs in chronic users cannot truly determine the causal direction of the effects. Methods: In a prospective-longitudinal study design cognitive functioning and brain structure were assessed at baseline and at 12-months follow-up in occasional ATS users (cumulative lifetime use
DEVOTIONAL VIDEO MESSAGE SUMMARY: Jesus’ Promise of Belief (St. Thomas Anglican Church, Athens GA) After the joy, celebration and even the relief explicitly and implicitly provided by Easter and the Resurrection, can you state your faith and belief like Thomas’ response to Jesus’ question, even with All with All the Problems Relating to the Coronavirus: “My Lord and My God!”? Important questions were asked by Jesus in His several appearances after His Resurrection. Jesus, knowing the Apostle Thomas’ disbelief without physical evidence of His Resurrection, in John 20:27, asked Thomas to feel His wounds. Afterwards Jesus asked Thomas the implied question of Thomas’ “belief” and who Thomas believed that Jesus was; and Thomas answered with an answer that has resonated throughout the centuries: “My Lord and my God!”: “Then he said to Thomas, ‘Put your finger here, and see my hands; and put out your hand, and place it in my side. Do not disbelieve, but believe.’ Thomas answered him, ‘My Lord and my God!’ Jesus said to him, ‘Have you believed because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.’”. Earlier, Jesus was asked by Thomas where Jesus was going, and Jesus, in John 14:5-6 gave Thomas the answer upon which the Christian faith is built: “Thomas said to him, ‘Lord, we do not know where you are going. How can we know the way?’ Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.’”. Jesus went on to affirm Thomas’ belief in the face of compelling physical evidence, but Jesus acknowledged the power of the belief and faith by those of us who follow Him without physical evidence. So, for us who do not have the physical evidence of Jesus’ death and Resurrection, Paul tells us, in Romans 10:17, that: “So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.”. Do you believe? TODAY’S AFFIRMATION: Today, Because of who I am in Jesus Christ, I will not be driven by Hatred. Rather, I will abide in the Lord’s Love. “I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in Me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from Me you can do nothing.” (John 15:5). SCRIPTURE REFERENCE (ESV): John 10:19-30; John 11:15-16; John 14:5-7; Romans 10:17. Within the context of modernity and globalisation, this research project investigates the processes by which governance arises in territories subjected to illicit forms of social order that contest state sovereignty and authority. Within the context of modernity and globalisation, this research project investigates the processes by which governance arises in territories subjected to illicit forms of social order that contest state sovereignty and authority. Drawing from recursive theoretical and empirical research rooted in the ‘abductive' method of Pragmatism, the analysis has three principal objectives: First, it offers a different conceptual approach by moving away from negative categorisation of the phenomena, e.g. failed states, ungoverned spaces, limited statehood etc., towards a positive conceptualisation, i.e. illicit orders. By casting off the legal-rational, sovereign-territorial lens, the pursuant conceptual reconfiguration of territory, authority, and institutions recognises and more directly conveys the existence of local social organisation apart from the modern state via the agency of social groups acting in violation of domestic and/or international legal norms, rules, and institutions. Second, it seeks to explain the constitution of ‘illicit orders' by offering a sociologically-cognisant analytical framework capable of elucidating the ‘micro' processes inherent to governance in territories where state institutions remain nominal and ineffective. Based on insights from theoretically-informed empirical fieldwork in the favelas of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, I maintain that inter-subjective relations of authority can be produced when a given actor asserts predominance in three co-constitutive domains; namely, organised violence, socioeconomic security, and social legitimacy. Resultant authority then gives rise to the ‘structuration' of norms, rules, and institutions, which also recursively reinforces the institutionalisation of authority – a process inherent to the constitution of social order in these circumscribed territories. Third, it provides an understanding of how inherently local ‘illicit orders' at once form part of a diffuse mosaic of social, political, and economic structures that collectively constitute ‘global society', while simultaneously existing in dramatic juxtaposition to the ‘international order' of states within it. Dr Christopher Lilyblad is currently a Visiting Research Fellow at the Changing Character of War Centre. He returns to academic life after spending working at European Union Delegation in Cape Verde (2014-16), the Luxembourg Development Cooperation Agency – LuxDev (2016-2017), and Luxembourg's national NGO platform, the Cercle de Coopération (2017-2018). What causes long face syndrome?Chronic congested nasal passages or enlarged tonsils can affect the growth of your child’s face. Resultant mouth breathing affects overall health and can lead to long face syndrome. Improper cranial facial growth and development can have many different causes. Lack of vitamins D3 and K2 contribute to this issue. These vitamins help you absorb and distribute calcium. Additionally, improper breathing leads to physical changes in the passageways. The result is frequent cold and flu, attention disorders and trouble sleeping. Processed foods, staying indoors and being inactive don’t help. Listen as Dr. Joel Gould joins Dr. Susanne Bennett to share how to reduce risk of developing long face syndrome.
Author: Jared Scott, M.D. Educational Pearls: Cardiac myocytes and vascular smooth muscle are dependent on an intracellular calcium influx for contraction. Pancreatic beta cells rely on calcium to release insulin. Calcium channel blockers will decrease cardiac contractility and heart rate, but will also cause vascular smooth muscle relaxation with a subsequent decrease in systemic vascular resistance. Resultant cardiac depression and hypotension. Pancreatic beta cells also use calcium to release insulin, so calcium channel blockade can cause hyperglycemia. Treatment for calcium channel toxicity include: fluid resuscitation, calcium gluconate, vasopressors, and high dose insulin. Dosing for insulin therapy is usually 1-5 Units/kg/hr. Make sure to add dextrose! References: Boyer EW, Shannon M. (2001).Treatment of calcium-channel-blocker intoxication with insulin infusion. New England Journal of Medicine. 344:1721. In today's VETgirl veterinary continuing education podcast, we review echocardiographic findings in dogs with hyperadrenocorticism. Hyperadrenocorticism (e.g., "Cushing's disease") is common in middle to older aged dogs and results in a state of chronic hypercortisolemia. Resultant systemic sequelae of this disease state include renal/urinary disease, diabetes mellitus, pulmonary thrombembolism (due to hypercoagulability), and systemic hypertension, among others. (Hence, one of the reasons why it's so important that we treat this endocrine disease in dogs!). In humans with hyperadrenocorticism, increases in left ventricular wall thickness have been detected echocardiographically. So, Takano et al out of Japan wanted to evaluate myocardial structure and function in dogs with hyperadrenocorticism.

Meet Tom Kemper, DolphinBlue.com CEO In 1973 the valley in which Kemper was raised was sprayed with dioxin-contaminated waste-oil by county contractors to reduce road dust. Resultant illness and environmental degradation played a role in development of Kemper’s environmental awareness. Conducting a 1992 recycling event in Dallas, he collected and bagged 350 bags of recyclables. Having no success finding a place to accept the materials, he learned RECYCLING Economics 101: when we purchase products made from materials we place in bins, recycling WORKS! Dolphin Blue, a business built on “The Triple-Bottom-Line” (People, Planet, Profits) was begun in 1994 on Kemper’s vision. Fiscal 2010 produced revenues of $2.5 million in only recycled-content office supplies, all made in the USA. Kemper believes we must begin in our communities valuing “natural capital” (clean air, water, organic foods, human health, and strength of local economies). Small business returns accountability and sustainability, creating strong, vibrant economies in local communities.
