LA PETITE MORT: DAVID PARIS IS GOING TO DIEAs someone who has worked within political parties, unions and non-government organisations on social and environmental issues for the past 20 years, David Paris has been no stranger to the occasional brutality of public and private life. But when his health began deteriorating, he found himself facing an ongoing battle with chronic pain and fatigue - as well as feeling the slow and significant peeling away of a social circle unable to comprehend his at times invisible battle. In darker moments, David has sought solace in those also delicately balancing across the see-saw of constant pain management - understanding that thoughts of death can be simultaneously confronting and comforting, and it's something we shouldn't be afraid to talk about.TW: Chronic illness, suicide.David Paris (Website: dp3.au)Instagram IG DogsOfTheSuburbsMarieke Hardy Is Going To Die is a podcast made by Marieke Hardy (IG @marieke_hardy).You can follow at IG @GoingToDiePodMusic by Lord Fascinator (IG @lordfascinator)Produced by Darren Scarce (IG @Dazz26)Video edits by Andy Nedelkovski (IG @AndyNeds)Artwork by Lauren Egan (IG @heylaurenegan)Photography by Eamon Leggett (IG @anxietyoptions)With thanks to Amelia Chappelow (IG @ameliachappelow)Camilla McKewen (IG @CamillaLucyLucy)and Rhys Graham (IG @RhysJGraham) https://www.wheelercentre.com/events-tickets/season-2024/ben-shewry-is-going-to-die ★ Support this podcast on Patreon ★
LA PETITE MORT: THE LAST HURRAH FUNERALSThe Last Hurrah Funerals are a bespoke funeral service based in Naarm, who offer 'authentic and unique funerals' that take extra care to build a service truly personal and fitting. In their words: 'The Last Hurrah hold no specific ethos in regard to how the dead should be farewelled; instead our primary aim is to support those who are grieving to farewell their kith and kin in a way that is meaningful to them, and to create funerals and rites that truly and authentically reflect the person who has died.'Co-founder Kimba Griffith is an acclaimed jazz vocalist, birth attendant, ceremonialist, funeral director, and compassionate companion to the dying. Kimba is able to hold space in a quiet and composed manner, be assertive when advocating for families' needs and desires, and bring her skills as a writer, ceremony creator and ritualist to craft an authentic ritual, ceremony or last hurrah. Kimba has spoken at panels and been a keynote speaker on the topic of death literacy and family-led funerals for the Florida Independent Funeral Directors' Association, The Wheeler Centre, The Malt House Theatre, SMCT, The Association of Independent Funeral Directors, ABC radio Big Ideas, The Sophia Club, ABC774 and more.In this chat, she unpacks her journey to the realm of mortality and the life-affirming (and saving) lessons she's picked up along the way.The Last Hurrah Funerals WebsiteLast Hurrah (IG The Last Hurrah Funerals)Marieke Hardy Is Going To Die is a podcast made by Marieke Hardy (IG @marieke_hardy).You can follow at IG @GoingToDiePodMusic by Lord Fascinator (IG @lordfascinator)Produced by Darren Scarce (IG @Dazz26)Video edits by Andy Nedelkovski (IG @AndyNeds)Artwork by Lauren Egan (IG @heylaurenegan)Photography by Eamon Leggett (IG @anxietyoptions)With thanks to Amelia Chappelow (IG @ameliachappelow)Camilla McKewen (IG @CamillaLucyLucy)and Rhys Graham (IG @RhysJGraham)Drop an email to mariekehardyisgoingtodie@gmail.comWhilst acknowledging the privilege that comes with having the space to discuss death and mortality, we want to also recognise that discussing these topics can raise some wounds. LA PETITE MORT: ANDREA GOLDSMITH IS GOING TO DIEWriters obsessed with the themes of death and mortality often find comfort in the words of fellow artists interrogating same. What is it that they're seeking in the musings of those who turn to face the Reaper? What does it tell them not only about their own creative practice, but life itself?Andrea Goldsmith is an award-winning novelist and occasional essayist. Death has featured in most of her 9 novels; indeed, in the forthcoming, The Buried Life, the main character is a sociologist of death. Her fascination with death may be nothing more than her flexing muscles at the Grim Reaper, though she insists that it's the mystery of death and the fear that it commonly inspires that attracts her - as well as the poetry and the two thousand plus requiems.Andrea Goldsmith (website: andreagoldsmith.com.au)Marieke Hardy Is Going To Die is a podcast made by Marieke Hardy (IG @marieke_hardy).You can follow at IG @GoingToDiePodMusic by Lord Fascinator (IG @lordfascinator)Produced by Darren Scarce (IG @Dazz26)Video edits by Andy Nedelkovski (IG @AndyNeds)Artwork by Lauren Egan (IG @heylaurenegan)Photography by Eamon Leggett (IG @anxietyoptions)With thanks to Amelia Chappelow (IG @ameliachappelow)Camilla McKewen (IG @CamillaLucyLucy)and Rhys Graham (IG @RhysJGraham)Support the show via www.patreon.com/mariekehardy and drop an email to mariekehardyisgoingtodie@gmail.comWhilst acknowledging the privilege that comes with having the space to discuss death and mortality, we want to also recognise that discussing these topics can raise some wounds. LA PETITE MORT: MALIA DEWSE IS GOING TO DIEWhy do so many of us resist writing a will until it's too late?Holistic end-of-life planning is more than formal documents (will and advanced care plan). It reflects our values, interests and the breadth of our lives: emotional housekeeping, end-of-life, our legacy and more. It needs doing before it's really needed. A long-held interest in death and dying, as well as both positive and challenging personal experiences with loved ones' dying and death, drove Malia Dewse to establish Beyond the Will. The service provides a holistic planning approach to the end-of-life. It supports individuals and families to plan before they really need to and identify and prioritise the things that really matter to them. Malia currently lives and works in Merri-bek with her family and a demanding cat. She loves to cook, eat, garden and plant trees as well as connect with friends and community. LA PETITE MORT: CELEBRATING MIKE NOGAIn these special episodes, we celebrate the life of a person who has died via someone who loved them deeply - keeping the memory of them alive through shared recollections, joy and grief. These conversations can be intensely raw, and many tears are shed. Please move gently as you listen.TW: Substance abuse, mental health, suicide.Mike Noga was a singer/songwriter and former drummer of the alt-rock band The Drones - who won the inaugural Australian Music Prize in 2005 for their album Wait Long by the River and the Bodies of Your Enemies Will Float By. Mike also built a name for himself in the Australian music industry with four critically acclaimed solo albums - Folk Songs (2005), The Balladeer Hunter (2012), KING (2016) and the posthumous Open Fire (2021) which was nominated for the Best Independent Rock Album in the 2022 AIR Awards and one of the best albums of 2022 by NME. He toured extensively both in Australia and overseas during his career, opening for acts such as Spoon, Band of Horses, Mark Lanegan and LOW. Celebrating him with us is his beautiful sister Ali Noga - a ceramic artist based in nipaluna/Hobart. Her work reveals itself as a quest for meaning and connection in a world that often feels disconnected and occasionally, meaningless, and has been strongly influenced by Mike's death and grief. It is also an avenue for self-discovery and transformation as she attempts to explore the depths of human consciousness and the ability (or not) to connect with something greater than ourselves. When not getting muddy Ali prefers the company of dogs over humans, particularly her Chihuahua Pedro.Mike Noga (IG Mike Noga)Ali Noga (IG AliNogaCeramics)Marieke Hardy Is Going To Die is a podcast made by Marieke Hardy (IG @marieke_hardy).You can follow at IG @GoingToDiePodMusic by Lord Fascinator (IG @lordfascinator)Produced by Darren Scarce (IG @Dazz26)Video edits by Andy Nedelkovski (IG @AndyNeds)Artwork by Lauren Egan (IG @heylaurenegan)Photography by Eamon Leggett (IG @anxietyoptions)With thanks to Amelia Chappelow (IG @ameliachappelow)Camilla McKewen (IG @CamillaLucyLucy)and Rhys Graham (IG @RhysJGraham)Support the show via www.patreon.com/mariekehardy and drop an email to mariekehardyisgoingtodie@gmail.comWhilst acknowledging the privilege that comes with having the space to discuss death and mortality, we want to also recognise that discussing these topics can raise some wounds. It's been a minuteeee since I've done a Pussy Lure episode. So, let's get right into thick of it. I wrote this piece to inspire and confuse you. Trigger warning: The opening audio clip is dynamic, followed by deep introspection of the dark landscape of my subconscious. The audio clips are from the film The Boondock Saints and contain language that may be offensive to some people. My listeners are aware of the perils that inhabit the places I venture to, so they are prepared for whatever comes, and it is possible that they trust me; they know I wouldn't harm them. But due to current aspects of life beyond my, or anyone's control, it is entirely possible that someone will hear something they do not agree with or even may take offense to. If my content offends you, then hit the stop button and go in peace. If you have an appetite for adventure, then proceed with caution, and by all means, if I do or say something stupid because I am a fool among prophets, then please slide into my DMs so we can arrange a human interaction. There, I will partake of your perspective. To those who know me: this is one ending. All men must die so that boys can grow to take their place. It is the way of life for our world as the Universe intended. Be safe and blessed between these conversations.

APOLOGIES FOR THE SOUND QUALITY OF THIS RECORDING WHICH WAS BEYOND OUR CONTROL - PLEASE BEAR WITH US WHILE WE RECTIFY THE SITUATION FOR FUTURE RECORDINGS - WE HOPE IT DESN'T IMPACT ON YOUR ENJOYMENT OF THIS EPISODE! The Big O, climaxing, orgasming, cumming... call it what you will, the subject is either not talked about enough or too many women still feel awkward having a conversation about it, even in 2021. While pictorial representations of the male equivalent can be seen drawn on dirty white vans, etched on toilet walls and on the underside of school desks, with no visual evidence of the female orgasm, it's always been a much harder subject to explore, elusive to some and mysterious to elicit by many of the other sex. Serena and Jo here talk openly about the topic and explore the literal and figurative ins and outs of La Petite Mort. Ordinary mums, Serena and Jo, talk honestly and authentically from their own experience, about how they try and look after themselves and sometimes get it wrong. Want to get in touch?

Tyler's pick this time is James - no, not one of their 90s classics, but the more recent (and nonetheless catchy) La Petit Mort. With a sceptical Jonny and few U2 links to speak off, how will RevU2 fare? Sit down and have a listen...
Autor: Adri Aleixo.

Death Series, Episode #4 of 4. If you were fluent in French and mingling at a French dinner party and your snooty acquaintance Genevieve likened the champagne she was sipping to la petite mort, you would know that she meant that the champagne, with it’s bubbly joy filling your nose and head, was orgasmic. But… why would you know that? “La petite mort” translates to something approximating “the little death.” That isn’t the most obvious of analogies for the glorious eruption that is an orgasm. We wanted to know more about la petite mort, so this episode is an investigation of the history of language, sexology, and indeed, orgasming, from the ancient world to the modern. Michael Ventura wrote the book on empathy. Literally. The founder of the New York strategy and design consultancy Sub Rosa is a multi-hyphenate. When he’s not advising a portfolio of Fortune 500 clients and progressive start-ups, he is running an experiential shopping venture called Calliope with his wife, running an art gallery and event space, publishing a newsletter called La Petite Mort — the french expression for orgasm — and running an eastern and indigenous medicine and healing practice. Now he’s an author, too. His book “Applied Empathy” came out earlier this spring and aims to promote how empathy can be a competitive advantage in business. He joins us on this episode of Ad Lib to discuss empathy, what he means by it, how he arrived at it as a guiding principle and how it’s won him some surprising clients, like West Point Military Academy.

Sweet and pungent, she deliberates, parting the exquisite fleshas juices moisten her fingers. (from ‘Mango’) In this episode of Ignite Intimacy, Deleonora Abel shares with us her gorgeous and erotic poetry. Not only are her words tantalizing, so is her voice and the way the words come forth from her being. She is a force, both powerful and soft, divine and adventurous. Enjoy a new twist for this episode of Ignite Intimacy, Sensual Poetry with Deleonora Abel! Sychronized, theirauras collide andtwo becomeone. (from ‘La Petite Mort’) About Deleonora: An inspired and imaginative soul, raised being told that creativity should only be a hobby, Australian poet, novelist, and screenwriter Deleonora Abel has only now fully embraced her talent for writing. Using poetry and writing as a sanctuary during her experiences putting herself through college as a single mother, and taking care of her cancer-stricken mother for the last months of her life, she paints a picture in your mind of every woman’s journey from girlhood to motherhood. Using a style known as écriture féminine in her work, whose purpose is to return women to writing and express repressed sexual pleasure, Deleonora’s writing is influenced by mythology, occult imagery, and the natural world. On this week's episode, Jamie and Chico dive into sex and death in horror movies, specifically looking at how sexually transmitted diseases and infections come into play. Starting with It Follows, we discuss chain emails, social disconnection and HIV/AIDS. Next up, Cronenberg! The master of body horror's first film, Shivers, looks at a parasite that causes residents of a high-rise to turn into sex monsters. Finally, Contracted updated the zombie myth with its own twisted, although problematic, take on sex. Plus, what these films tell us about society's view of women and sex.
In this show, I explore the Mars/Pluto conjunction in Capricorn in depth. I look into the past conjunctions, the one coming up on the 19th, look into people born with it, and explore much more. By listening you will learn about the archetypal complex that Mars and Pluto create. Also, it is my hope that all fear you may have about this transit is transmuted into willful excitement around relating to it a different way. Enjoy. www.holestoheavens.com art by vuzel
