A little known danger for our hard working logging truck drivers around the country is actually not when they're on the road dealing with some appalling drivers. In fact it's a shoulder problem that many have suffered from when they've been throwing the large chains over the massive logs they're hauling to keep them safely in place. Such is the problem that a local company Trinder's invented a new tool to help them and avoid injury. Their teams invented a device which does the chain throwing for you, so truck drivers are less at risk of injuring themselves. Managing Director, Kerry Hill speaks to Jesse.

In this episode of the MGC podcast, I talk to Larissa Trinder, Assistant Vice President of Arts in Medicine at New York City Health + Hospitals who is responsible for stewarding a collection of more than 4000 works of art, the largest such collection in New York City. In addition, she has been creating and implementing programs for patients, staff and the community that utilize the arts as a tool in healing. Larissa is a staunch advocate for the importance of the arts and humanities within a healthcare system to advance patient health outcomes, enhance staff engagement, morale and retention and to empower communities. In this podcast, I talk to Larissa about the emerging role of art as an important component of healing environments. Here are just some of the topics we address: 1. What is the new Department of Arts in Medicine at New York City Health + Hospitals? 2. How did it develop in the 1930s, and how has it been able to survive economic downturns and financial crises? 3. What is the role of art in an effective healing environment? 4. How does art affect patient health outcomes, staff engagement and morale, and entire communities? Let us head back to the headwaters of HDL biology to find some more answers. If you did not read the original HDL piece or remember the basics of HDL biology, go back to Newsletter V13 #15 for a review. HDL as an associated biomarker of death risk has a U shaped curve with higher all cause mortality at very low and high levels of volume. Let us understand why? (Madsen et. al. 2017) Anything that causes more LDL, low density lipoproteins, to stay in circulation will raise one's risk of ASCVD or heart attack. The historical reality (as I have discussed for years) for why we would have these genomic mutations to have more LDL particles in circulation is 1) as a protection mechanism against bacterial infections which were common for thousands of years. The HDL and LDL particles have receptors on their surface to grab bacterial cell wall debris like LTE or LPS and remove them via the liver. This is a massive beneftit to the human species until recent times. 2) as a storage mechanism for calories/recirculation of metabolically expensive cholesterol. (Maile et. al. 2020)(Feng et. al.. 2019)(Trinder et. al. 2021)....... Enjoy, Dr. M
Quelles conséquences si on dort trop peu ? Les montres ou outils technologiques qui nous promettent de tracker et améliorer notre sommeil sont-ils vraiment utiles ? This episode of Across The Margin : The Podcast presents an interview with the senior director of the NYC Health + Hospitals Arts in Medicine program, Larissa Trinder. Larissa is one of the talented people behind the project that inspired the new book Healing Walls: New York City Health + Hospitals Community Mural Project (2019 - 2021) which commemorates a brilliant and benevolent three-year Community Mural Project that persists as a flagship of the NYC Health + Hospitals Arts in Medicine Program. Supported by the Laurie M. Tisch Illumination Fund, the Community Mural Project is designed to encourage creativity, lower stress, build trust, and to increase engagement between hospital staff and members of their surrounding communities. The murals also create space for joy as well as healing for patients and frontline medical workers who are always under enormous pressure and were hit especially hard during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Community Mural Project builds upon a mural tradition that began in the 1930s when the Works Progress Administration (WPA) supported the creation of murals in virtually every New York public hospital. Healing Walls — a beautiful coffee table book that was gifted to every H+H staff member who participated — vividly documents the ongoing community project as well as many WPA-era hospital murals with new scholarship and images. What's best is — 100% of all sales of the book will benefit NYC Health + Hospitals Arts in Medicine programs. In this episode host Michael Shields and Larissa Trinder (and all too briefly editor and author Jan Rothschild) dig into exactly how the Community Mural Project initially came to life while exploring how the gifted artists who are participating in the project were selected. They discuss the cathartic power of art and how decades of research prove that the arts can play a role in “healing the healers” as well as improving patient outcomes and forging community health awareness and partnerships. They talk about the painting parties that occurred when the murals were first erected and the collaborative process that goes into creating each mural that ensures they are strong representations of their respective communities. They talk about the HHArt empathy workshops, a fascinating and important idea known as “Social Prescribing,” and so much more. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Brand Twitter has subscribed to one way of doing things for the last few years, following brandter trends and popular text meme formats. Now Twitter is politely asking us to stop. Here to walk us through its #RealTalk report among other learnings is Sophie Trinder, head of the company's UK brand strategy team Twitter Next. She warns of drowning in the sea of same and, instead of following the platform's supposed rules, has tips for brands on their tone, topics and community to ensure your brand stand outs by being uniquely itself. In this episode, I chat with Megan Ennis, originally from Queensland, Australia. She was playing Division I basketball at the University of Oregon when she met Dylan, who was also there playing. She tore her ACL twice, which forced her to retire from playing. But she's never stopped supporting Dylan– together, these two have moved around the world for basketball contracts. They have two adorable children, Amiyah and Chance, who were born abroad. They've spent the last five seasons abroad. Most recently, Dylan played in Spain's ACB, where they've lived on the Spanish island Gran Canaria. I'm excited to share this episode. I really connected with Megan's story. Enjoy! About fifty vehicles were turned away at the Auckland border as they attempted to cross unlawfully last night. They called themselves members of a hikoi - hoping to travel from Rotorua to Te Tii o Waitangi, but Mana News reporter Joe Trinder told Morning Report the group won't be welcomed. "They're headed up to Waitangi, but evidently up at Waitangi everything has been cancelled and they're not invited, and the Tai Tokerau border control don't want them up there." The convoy held up truck drivers, who had to wait behind them for about an hour while Police moved them on. Trinder said the protestors were anti-vaccine, anti-mask and anti the Prime Minister.

"I aim to speak plain truths to a plain people! May it please the God of all grace, to accompany my feeble endeavors to promote the knowledge of His truth! If my letters are owned to comfort the afflicted, to quicken the careless, to confirm the wavering — I will rejoice." - John NewtonJohn Newton, well known as the author of the song, Amazing Grace, was radically changed by the Lord Jesus Christ and became an outstanding witness to that grace that never ceased to amaze him. From his letters we come to know a man of great humility and wisdom, and though written some 250 years ago, they continue to comfort and encourage those who take the time to read them. These readings are from the edition of letters edited by Josiah Bull and first published in 1869. Concerning Miss Flower, the editor writes:Miss Flower (later Mrs Dawson) was educated at Northampton by Mrs. Trinder, whose school had at that time attained a deserved eminence. Many ladies afterwards known in the religious world, received their first serious impressions under Mrs. Trinder's judicious training. Mr. Newton was a frequent visitor at the house, and his addresses to the young people were greatly appreciated by them. It was probably here that he first became acquainted with Miss Flower. In 1782, Miss Flower was united in marriage to John Dawson, Esq. of Aldcliffe Hall, Lancaster—a union which was somewhat suddenly terminated in May 1804, Mrs. Dawson surviving till December 1826. We are informed that the subject of our notice was possessed of great intelligence and conversational powers, was remarkable for amiability and the cultivation of every Christian grace, and was honoured and beloved by a large circle of friends like-minded with herself.(Newton, John. Letters by the Rev. John Newton: Edited by Josiah Bull. Kindle Edition.)

So we've reached the last eight of Euro 2020 and the boys are still going strong. There's no knocking out these lads in the heat of Baku. Yes, Jason “Wine Gum” Trinder, Andy “No Socks” Gorman and Jason “Stats” Mohammad are back for a bumper edition of ABITABLUE EuroTrashed. There's no special guest (contractual issues) so the lads fill airtime with incessant bickering, football banter, useless stats and arguments over Wine Gums. So kick back, relax and settle down to Andy's assessment of where it all went wrong for Wales, JT's defence of yet another Euro goalkeeping blunder and JMo's obsession with stats - which sadly resulted in him getting punched in the face by Trinder! There's also a guest appearance from the studio cleaner. In this episode the Healthcare Corner talks about biocidal surfaces and how we can actively use technology to reenter socially essential spaces. Joining us is Ken Trinder, CEO of ĒOS, and Jamie Miller, founder of Alfabet, as we discuss other aspects of infection control and prevention. Ken Trinder, President and CEO of ĒOS.A graduate of Franklin and Marshall College and Wake Forest School of Law, Mr. Trinder is a licensed attorney in Virginia and practiced law until 1998 when he purchased Trindco, a small countertop fabrication business in Suffolk, Virginia. Through acquisition and sales growth the company grew to sales of over $6 million by 2005. In 2005 Mr. Trinder sold Trindco and started ĒOS Surfaces, LLC. He believed that if a solid surface could be the same thickness as a slab of natural or engineered stone, then it would not need an edge build up or as much labor to create a finished countertop. The product he developed, ĒOS, was largely recognized as the most innovative product the industry has seen in several years and subsequently received the “Innovation Award” from his peers within the industry. Since the development of the initial product, ĒOS, the company has, under Mr. Trinder's leadership, developed a “green” countertop, GĒOS, using recycled crushed glass and most recently ĒOScu, the first anti-microbial solid surface to receive EPA registration, thus allowing the company to make public health claims. He lives in Norfolk, Virginia, with his family.Jamie Miller, Founder of AlfabetJamie is an architect turned entrepreneur whose core values center around community, design, and health and wellness. He founded Union Cowork in 2012, a California brand that now has 7 locations throughout the state. With over 1,000 members from all over the world, Union is an established company within the new real estate typology of coworking. Jamie has built a number of other companies, including Alfabet Furniture, a business that provides contemporary solutions for office environments of all kinds. The company has now partnered with ĒOS Surfaces to offer self-sanitizing furniture and surfaces for application in a number of building use types. Although he grew up in Canada, Jamie currently lives with his son, Maxwell, and their dog, Lulu, in Southern California.

The ruling monarch, Edward VIII, wished to marry the American divorcée Wallis Simpson and crown her as his Queen. His actions scandalised the establishment, who were desperate to avoid an international embarrassment at a time when war seemed imminent. That the King was rumoured to have Nazi sympathies only strengthened their determination that he should be forced off the throne, by any means necessary. An influential coalition formed against him, including the Prime Minister Stanley Baldwin, his private secretary Alec Hardinge, the Archbishop of Canterbury and the editor of the Times. Betrayal and paranoia were everywhere, as MI5 bugged his telephone and his courtiers turned against him. Edward seemed fated to give up Wallis and remain a reluctant ruler, or to abdicate his throne. Yet he had his own supporters, too, including Winston Churchill, the Machiavellian newspaper proprietor Lord Beaverbrook and his brilliant adviser Walter Monckton. They offered him the chance to remain on the throne and keep Wallis. But was the price they asked too high? And what really lay behind the assassination attempt on Edward earlier that year? Using previously unpublished and rare archival material, and new interviews with those who knew Edward and Wallis, The Crown in Crisis is the conclusive exploration of how an unthinkable and unprecedented event tore the country apart, as its monarch prized his personal happiness above all else. This seismic event has been written about before but never with the ticking-clock suspense and pace of the thriller that it undoubtedly was for all of its participants. The Crown in Crisis is the definitive book about the events of 1936. Painstakingly researched, incisively written and entirely fresh in its approach, it will bring the events of that time to thrilling life, and in the process appeal to an entirely new audience.

Today's guest once did what so many mamas occasionally dream of doing: she stepped away from everyone and everything and went in search of herself. She said yes to her needs and her life, and in doing so gave everyone in her family permission to do the same. How? By leaving home for longer than she believed was possible. In her search for solitude, Glyniss found what she'd needed the most: how to remember and reconnect to who she was. This week's conversation centers around Glyniss' brave decision to (temporarily) walk away from the family she'd built with her whole heart and soul. Glyniss explains how she totally lost her identity in striving to be more Walton-ish than Mrs Walton herself, and the dramatic steps she took to save herself. I won't spoil it all for you by describing what came next, so dive in and share this episode with ALLLL mamas, no matter where they are on the journey. Even if they're mamas-to-be, share this. I wish I'd heard some of the wisdom that Glyniss drops during our conversation before I headed down the rabbit hole of "perfect mothering" -- an unachievable goal if ever there was one. I can't wait to hear what you think of Glyniss' story and her reminder that "when you light yourself up, you're living for and on your purpose," so head to our free Facebook group to tell me what you thought. And if you haven't yet done so, please subscribe to the podcast, rate it and leave a review! I'd love to know what you think and for you to share it. More mamas need to hear Glyniss' message, and I'm excited to share it as broadly as possible. Transform your business in ways you've never even imagined. The key takeaways: Rapid transformational therapy is a form of hypnotherapy during which you access the subconscious mind to heal your mind and your body, to clear blocks and patterns, to work on your relationships. It can be used to move past visibility fears, to work on your money mindset, to improve your focus… whatever your business needs. There are two key sides to rapid transformational therapy – regression and rewiring. It starts by going back and finding the root cause of something and then rewiring the mind and changing the message. -------------------- Join me on Instagram here: https://www.instagram.com/dairecharlotte/ Sign up for my weekly (ish) jolts of genius here: http://dairepaddy.com/ -------------------- For the full show notes, including all the links mentioned in this episode, go here >> http://dairepaddy.com/episode14 -------------------- If you enjoyed this episode I'd love it if you could: a) Share your favourite moment, takeaway, or place to listen in your Instagram Stories, tagging me (@dairecharlotte) b) Hop over to iTunes and leave me an honest review.
