If you heard that Jason is dead... good, er bad news: Jason Lives!! That's right, on this redux episode of Kill By Kill, Gena and Patrick are joined by acclaimed filmmaker Rodney Ascher (Room 237, The Nightmare) to talk about TV's Horshack, Ron Palillo, and his incredible performance as Alan Dawes. As Rodney points out, “A friend helps you move, a good friend helps you move a body… what kind of friend helps you dig up a body?” In addition, we discuss the power of lightning vs. supernatural lightning, we chase mid-80s suspender trends, openly wonder if Jason's powers make him an X-Man, and finally, we attempt to pin a “double indemnity” style murder rap on the director. Why not? It's fun! All that and we resurrect Choose Your Own Death-venture from the grave. It's a reanimated episode you should listen to immediately! How do you create music that is playful and catchy while still telling an honest story?Las Vegas singer, songwriter and producer Kiara Garcia joins Vigilantes Radio Live to discuss her new album, Ocean Pearl, and its upbeat pop single, “Obsessed.” The playful record explores what happens when someone becomes a little too invested in another person—romantically or platonically—while maintaining a fun, flirty and danceable energy.Kiara explains how she structured Ocean Pearl like a musical storybook, with songs designed to reflect different emotions and seasons of life. She also discusses the creative challenges and opportunities of writing in both English and Spanish, blending pop, R&B, hip-hop and reggaeton, and creating music that reflects every side of her identity. The conversation explores her journey from singing at 14 to producing her own records after realizing that other producers could not always capture the sounds she imagined. Kiara also shares how her mother's massive CD and cassette collection shaped her musical curiosity, why she values creative control and what it means to make music that leaves listeners feeling happier than they did before pressing play. This episode is a conversation about joy, identity, artistic independence, healthy boundaries and the courage to create without allowing expectations to limit your sound.https://music.apple.com/us/artist/kiara-garcia/1244469119https://open.spotify.com/artist/7K0xXVSPFr4N98rhCvg7lc?nd=1https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCFZ64ptfV0u3SbjkQwl3U2Ahttps://www.instagram.com/kiaramusicofficialBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/vigilantes-radio-live--2166168/support.Vigilantes Radio Live! by The Only One Media Group ℗©2025Episode Credits:Produced, edited, mixed, and written by Demetrius "Whodini Blak" Reynolds, Sr.Artwork designed by Demetrius "Whodini Blak" Reynolds, Sr.Show Introduction by KateSegment jingles composed & produced by Demetrius "Whodini Blak" Reynolds, Sr.Additional music licensed through 7th Sign RecordingsLinks:onlyonemediagroup.comhttps://www.instagram.com/vigilantesradio/https://www.iheart.com/podcast/966-vigilantes-radio-live-29999229/https://www.instagram.com/whodiniblakin3d/https://www.imdb.com/title/tt26009230/To support our show, please leave reviews, ratings, or you can help fuel the passion over at buymeacoffee.com/vigilantesradioEmail us at onlyonemgt@gmail.com or vradio@onlyonemediagroup.com

Jennifer takes you through a season of conversations with philosophers, teachers, and artists through the lens of a central koan: do we save or savour a world in a state of collapse? She revisits three core movements: The importance of feeling, especially the emotions and sensations we want to avoidLetting go and softening our attachments to identity, being right, or particular outcomesThe idea that there are no guarantees in this life, no matter how earnest or enlightened we areBringing you into a current challenge of hers, Jennifer illuminates how the tension between saving and savouring is working her, as she embraces new questions on how to dance with uncertainty in a heart-breaking, surprising world. For this week's Encore Presentation of Revolutions Per Movie, I bring you my 4th episode ever (just listen to my youthful, nervous voice doing the intro here...ha!). I was fortunate enough to discuss one of my favorite music films about one of my favorite bands with one of my favorite people, Nick Agular (Frankie And The Witch Fingers, Mike Watt). Enjoy!(Episode 4 originally aired on Oct 5th 2023).ORIGINAL SHOW NOTES:This week, we talked to musician Nick Aguilar, who chose the documentary film “We Jam Econo,” which focused on the legendary punk band The Minutemen. Since Nick has performed and toured with The Minutemen's Mike Watt, he has excellent insight into the world of the LA punk rock scene, SST records, growing up in San Pedro, and, of course, being in the van with the legend that is Mike Watt. So, fellow corndogs, get in and let's mersh out about The Minutemen and “we Jam Econo” on this episode of Revolutions Per Movie.Nick Aguilar:www.instagram.com/nickguyone/REVOLUTIONS PER MOVIE:Host Chris Slusarenko (Eyelids, Guided By Voices, owner of Clinton Street Video rental store) is joined by actors, musicians, comedians, writers & directors who each week pick out their favorite music documentary, musical, music-themed fiction film, or music videos to discuss. Dylan Scott is a country artist and songwriter from Bastrop, Louisiana. He is a multi-Platinum artist with seven number one singles at country radio, including the triple-Platinum "My Girl," "Nobody," "New Truck," "Boys Back Home" (with Dylan Marlowe), and his most recent chart-topper, "What He'll Never Have." He has nearly 5 billion career streams, a CMT Music Award for Breakthrough Video of the Year, and a GMA Dove Award. He is currently signed to Curb Records. In this episode, we discuss Dylan's journey from signing a record deal while still in high school — and learning the hard way that a deal doesn't "make it happen" for you — to almost quitting after three failed singles, until a phone call with his future wife convinced him to keep going and inspired him to write "My Girl," his first number one. We also get into the question his wife asked him on the way to a t-ball game that changed how he measures success, and his brand new single, "Dear Big City." There are, of course, many other stops along the way.--------------------------------------------------This episode is also sponsored by The Graphic Guitar Guys. They create eye-catching custom guitar wraps for some of the biggest artists and festivals in the music industry. Their work is perfect for adding a unique touch to album pre-sale bundles or VIP package items—check them out and discover how they can transform a guitar into a show-stopping work of art.---------------------------------------------------Troy Cartwright is a Nashville-based artist and songwriter originally from Dallas, Texas. His songs have collectively garnered hundreds of millions of streams, and he is currently signed to Big Machine Music for publishing. This week, the CREEP-O-RAMA guys grabs their bats, laces uptheir roller skates (for tactical reasons), and dives headfirst into two beloved cult classics: The Warriors (1979), directed by Walter Hill, and SLC Punk! (1998), directed by James Merendino. One movie asks, "Can you dig it?" The other asks, "Can you emotionally recover from Matthew Lillard?" We start with why The Warriors remains one of the coolest looking films ever made that convinced an entire generation that New York City was populated by approximately 50,000 themed street gangs whose monthly clothing budget rivaled the GDP of a small nation. At some point, we sidebar the praise and focus on theimportant questions, like who approved the gang uniforms How does Roller Skate Guy explain his career choices to his parents? Did Cyrus really think 2,000 gang members standing three football fields away could hear his motivational TED Talk with zero microphone? We can dig it, Cyrus, we just can't hearyou. We also derail into increasingly deranged conspiracy theories, concluding that The Warriors, The Crow, and John Carpenter's The Thing all share the same cinematic universe because honestly... prove they don't. Fox survives getting hit by the train, relocates to Antarctica, gets assimilated by an alien organism, Brandon Lee comes back from the dead thanks to a bird, and somehow this makes more sense than a gang whose entire combat strategy revolves around synchronized roller skating. Cinema has peaked. Then we crash headfirst into SLC Punk!, where Josh experiences the cult classic for the first time and discovers that Matthew Lillard apparently wakes up every morning and chooses violence against your emotions. One minute we're laughing at Jason Segel being the most punk character of all, and the next we're staring into the existential void confronting life and death over blasting The Misfits. Ugh. Posers. But since attention spans are fictional, by the end of the episode we also touch on Blockbuster nostalgia, Ecco the Dolphin being psychological warfare disguised as a children's game, Earthworm Jim, Wave Race & Mario Kart 64, Pilotwings, and the trauma of waiting three whole months to rent a video game only to discover it sucked. Those were the days. CREEP-O-RAMA is: Store: CREEP-O-RAMAYouTube: @creep-o-ramaJosh: @joshblevesqueArtwork: @bargainbinblasphemyTheme: @imfigureAudio: @stranjlove

Summer vacation is in full swing, and we've got the perfect episode to help you beat the heat as we light the fires and kick the tires of 1981's THE BURNING! Along the way, we ask why on earth this movie would have a cult following, discuss why so many doctors want to convince Cropsy to let the past go, debate what the killer's plan often boils down to “lie down in a canoe for hours,” and examine how the entire movie manages to evoke the mindset of its convicted criminal's writer/producer.
