2024 Postseason - Wild Card Round New York Mets (89 - 73) @ Milwaukee Brewers (93 - 69) The Mets were not supposed to be here. They sold at the deadline last year, even telling Max Scherzer that 2024 was going to be ‘retooling' season, that '25 and '26 were when they would be competitive again. They started this season 0 - 5, and they were 11 games below .500 in late May. But then they called up an emerging pop-star (who moonlighted as a journeyman infielder), Grimace threw out a first pitch, and within a month, the Mets were back, baby! Bolstered by a veteran pitching staff and spearheaded by MVP candidate Francisco Lindor, the Mets have fought their way into playoff position under first year manager Carlos Mendoza. Like the Amazin's and the Miracles before them, these Mets have quite the knack for dramatic performances. The Brewers weren't supposed to be here either. Craig Counsell left for the Cubs. They lost Brandon Woodruff to a shoulder injury, and they traded away 2021 Cy Young winner Corbin Burnes away before the season even started. But under the stewardship of Pat Murphy and with a breakout performance from 20 year old Jackson Chourio, Milwaukee found themselves with yet another NL Central title. It has been an incredible story for this young and exciting team; however, the Brewers have failed to advance past the first round in four consecutive postseasons. Their fans hope it won't be a fifth. Bill Gibson began playing music at the age of seven. He found his passion for music when his father Ed Gibson, an architect by trade but a jazz drummer in his own right, began taking him to see such greats as The Count Basie Orchestra, The Duke Ellington Orchestra, and The Buddy Rich Big Band. Inspired by big band jazz and rock & roll styles, Bill got his first drum kit at age fourteen, and began playing drums with local bands the following year. He soon became the drummer for Sound Hole and played his first tour in 1974 backing up Van Morrison. Bill is a founding member of Huey Lewis and the News, which he and other members of Sound Hole and the band Clover formed in 1979. 33 years later, the band is still going strong and has enjoyed enormous success with over 30 million albums sold worldwide, 19 top ten hits including "The Power of Love", "Stuck With You", and "Hip To Be Square", and multiple awards and award nominations. Bill remains an integral part of the band, lending his writing and singing talents as well as providing drums and percussion. Bill has been a Yamaha Drum Artist since 1985. On today's episode of Locked On Stars, Joey answers the burning question how can the Stars get Wyatt Johnston to produce again? Johnston has not played bad by any means, some would say he has been unlucky with some of the chances he's had to score lately. Joey thinks the Stars need to think about breaking up his line involving Jamie Benn and Evgenii Dadanov. The Rich Zeoli Show- Hour 1: On Monday night, CNN and The New York Times obtained audio of former President Donald Trump describing “highly confidential” military documents pertaining to Iran. The audio is from July 2021, and was made while Trump was speaking with writers doing research for a Mark Meadows memoir. In the recording, Trump can be heard saying of the documents: “As president I could have declassified it, but now I can't.” But does the audio definitively prove he mishandled sensitive information? In response to the allegations, Trump has said he didn't possess Iran battle plans—and that in the recording he was merely waving around papers unrelated to the conversation, dismissing his statements as “bravado.” While appearing on Fox News with Lawrence Jones, Trump spokeswoman and attorney Alina Habba said the Iran documents referenced in an audio clip released to CNN and The New York Times were “not part of the indictment.” On Tuesday night, Internal Revenue Services (IRS) whistleblower Gary Shapley spoke with CBS News Chief Investigative Correspondent Jim Axelrod in his first televised interview. Shapley contends that he has documentation that contradicts Attorney General Merrick Garland's claim that U.S. Attorney for Delaware David Weiss' investigation into Hunter Biden was not impeded in any way—explaining, “[t]here were certain investigative steps that we weren't allowed to take that could have led us to President Biden.” According to a report from Bloomberg News, President Joe Biden has begun using a CPAP machine to treat sleep apnea. While speaking with reporters outside of the White House, President Joe Biden was asked if he had any involvement in Hunter Biden's financial transactions with Chinese officials—Biden responded emphatically, “no!” Biden also mistakenly said that Russian President Vladimir Putin was at war with Iraq.
