6/30/26 - Supreme Court's Birthright Citizenship Ruling: The REAL Problem Nobody's Talking About

    Mark Levin Podcast

Play Episode Listen Later Jul 1, 2026 115:22

On Tuesday's Mark Levin Show, Chief Justice Roberts improperly relied on English common law as a basis for birthright citizenship, despite the framers using it only as a guide and rejecting elements that conflicted with the U.S. system. The 14th Amendment and the preceding Civil Rights Act of 1866 were narrowly intended to grant full citizenship rights to freed Black slaves and their children amid post-Civil War resistance—not to address immigration or confer citizenship on children of illegal aliens. The opinion wrongly equates "jurisdiction" with mere physical presence, leading to illogical results like automatic citizenship for babies of illegal immigrants (who retain foreign allegiance) while creating unaddressed exceptions for diplomats, revealing a result-oriented, activist approach that rewrites history. Roberts and his Majority twisted the history of the 14th amendment and just constitutionalized birthright citizenship, knowing full well that our nation, like Europe, is facing a grave threat from within as a result, in part, of the intentional refusal of our government, when the Democrats are in power, to enforce immigration laws and, oppositely, facilitating the importation of aliens from all over the world without proper vetting. Also, the constitutional amendment process is rarely used. It requires two-thirds approval in both houses of Congress to propose language, followed by ratification by three-fourths (38) of the states—neither of which is feasible for issues like changing birthright citizenship. The Supreme Court has constitutionalized elements not originally in the Constitution, making reversal through amendments impractical. Instead, the effective path is filling Court vacancies with constitutionalists, as achieved in overturning Roe, without resorting to court packing. Later, Hans von Spakovsky calls in and explains that Roberts' opinion was appalling and a complete rewrite of American history, particularly regarding the 14th Amendment. He notes that Justices Alito and Thomas eviscerated it in separate dissents, highlighting that Roberts' historical account was inaccurate. He criticized Roberts' selective and distorting use of sources like Thomas Paine and Frederick Douglass, pointing out Thomas's observation that Douglass viewed Black Americans as citizens due to their equal allegiance to the U.S., unlike illegal aliens who owe allegiance to their native countries. Finally, Thomas Jefferson and James Madison favored limited central government, while Alexander Hamilton preferred a powerful, activist federal government with implied powers. Modern nationalist populists share this Hamilton big-government outlook with the left, which lacks clear constitutional principles and risks abuse, in contrast to true constitutional conservatism. The U.S. Constitution can feel intimidating—but what if understanding it is one of the most empowering things you can do? This week, JVN sits down with constitutional law professor, legal scholar, and Strict Scrutiny co-host Melissa Murray to unpack what the Constitution actually says, how it's evolved over time, and what it does to shape our daily lives here in the U.S. Together, they break down the myths, the amendments, and the big debates that continue to define U.S. democracy. From the origins of Prohibition to the long fight for women's rights, Melissa explains why the Constitution was designed to change—and why “We the People” have always been central to that process. They also explore what rights the Constitution does (and doesn't) guarantee, how constitutional amendments come to be, and what power ordinary people have to shape the country's future. 6/29/26 - The Marxist-Islamist Alliance: A Threat to American Values

    Mark Levin Podcast

On Monday's Mark Levin Show, the American Marxism movement hates American institutions and is out to destroy America. And they have an ally: Islamism. Both ideas have been forced upon us by the Democratic Party. They seek to undermine our Constitution, our Judeo-Christian belief system, the nuclear family, our schools and universities. Despite their outward ideological differences, they share one goal: destroy the West. How? With immigration and open borders and using our constitutional protections against us. And there's a third problem: the Woke Reich neo-fascists, who are antisemitic and anti-Christian. The result is more young people who have been brainwashed to hate this country. We need to realize that we are under attack. Later, a recent 5-4 Supreme Court ruling that upheld states' post-election day ballot counting for federal offices undermines the Constitution.  This weakens fraud detection, as the president is right that mail-in voting should be limited to those who are disabled, sick, or out of town—not universal. In states like California, ballots are sent to outdated addresses, and since such states are Democratic strongholds, pressure is ineffective, yet these practices improperly affect federal elections. Also, experience shows the Iranian regime lies, cheats, adheres to no agreements, and seeks to destroy all individuals, groups, or nations not complying with its 7th-century political-religious ideology through catastrophic worldwide war involving slaughter, torture, and rape until total submission. Unlike faiths that reformed, Islamists have not. Meanwhile, Zohran Mamdani is focused on de-populating NYC of as many Jews as possible and turning into a Dearborn, Michigan or Paterson, NJ. He's making it unsafe and unlivable for Jews in the City. Finally, Director of the Ronald Reagan Institute Roger Zakheim calls in to discuss an Axios article that misleadingly headlined Republicans souring on Israel based on the Institute's survey. Zakheim clarified that Axios engaged in clickbait, as the survey and its own report actually showed the opposite: 75% of Republicans overall, and 80% of MAGA Republicans, believe U.S. security and prosperity are tied to Israel's security. This week, Scott sat down with his Lawfare colleagues Kevin Frazier, Roger Parloff, and Molly Roberts to talk through some of the week's big news in AI, including:“Citizen Cain't.” When the NAACP sued Elon Musk's xAI under the Clean Air Act—alleging that the company built dozens of gas-fired turbines to power a data center in Mississippi without relevant air permits and exposing nearby, predominantly Black communities to harmful pollution—the Justice Department opted to do something it has never done before: it intervened in a citizen suit against a private company in order to kill it. DOJ's motion offers two theories: first, that shutting down the turbines would threaten national security because the military relies on xAI's Grok Gov model (including in relation to the Iran war) to secure the nation, and second, that the Constitution's vesting of executive power in the president means private citizens cannot enforce federal law over the executive's objection. How strong are these arguments? And what would it mean for environmental and other citizen-enforcement suits if DOJ were to prevail?“Grok the Vote.” We may be living through the first true “AI elections.” In Manhattan's NY-12 Democratic primary, more than $40 million in AI-industry and AI-safety money turned a little-known assemblyman, Alex Bores, into something of a national referendum on whether voters care about AI regulation and AI safety—though Bores ultimately lost to Micah Lasher this week. Meanwhile, overseas in Malaysia, parties are using chatbots and other AI-driven technologies to reach out to voters in new and novel ways. And just this week in Washington, a new study has concluded that frontier AI is perhaps more persuasive than ever, but also may not be as politically neutral as some suspect or one might hope. What does this all mean for democratic politics when both money and the messaging involved in our politics are increasingly shaped by AI?“Kill, Kill Switch, Kill, Kill!” The government's frontier-AI "kill switch" is now ready to have its first day in court. If you recall, a few weeks ago, the Commerce Department's Bureau of Industry and Security sent Anthropic an "Is Informed" letter ordering it to suspend all access to its Fable 5 and Mythos 5 models for any foreign nationals, including its own employees. This ultimately led Anthropic to pull access to those models for everyone within hours. But this past Monday, June 22, a technology startup called Legion LegalTech filed a lawsuit against the U.S. government alleging that it has acted in a way that is unlawful and raises a number of statutory and constitutional concerns. How strong is the legal challenge, and what does it tell us about whether courts—rather than the executive—will end up defining the government's power to switch a frontier model on and off?In object lessons, Molly sticks to the script for this week's episode with her call-out of Erik Nitsche's “Atoms for Peace” poster series for General Dynamics. Also inspired by this week's theme, Kevin dives into some “light summer reading” about technology, globalization, and the law with “Rules for a Flat World,” by Gillian Hadfield. Roger, similarly, is “unwinding” with “The Winter Warriors,” by Olivier Norek, a novel about the lesser-known David vs. Goliath story of Finland taking on the Soviet Union in 1939. And Scott says enough already! He's headed on vacation next week, and so is Rational Security. The Democratic Party as you know it is over. Tuesday's New York primaries weren't an election — they were a hostile takeover. Two confirmed Democratic Socialists of America members are headed to Congress. A third Mamdani ally took out the man who led Trump's first impeachment. And the machine that did it just published a platform calling for abolishing the Senate, replacing the Supreme Court, defunding the military, and rewriting the Constitution from scratch. This is not hyperbole. This is their official governing document — ratified this month. We break down exactly who the DSA is, what they actually believe, and how they've quietly built a 100,000-member army that is now systematically replacing the Democratic establishment from within — one primary at a time. Then we turn to the controversies exploding online around Abdul El-Sayed and Zul Mohamed, and ask the question the mainstream media refuses to: why do some stories dominate national headlines while others — involving the exact same behavior from the opposite side — get buried? We name the double standard out loud. Across the Atlantic, the UK is in political freefall. Keir Starmer is out — and the name everyone is watching is Andy Burnham. We break down what his rise means for British Labour and what it signals about where the global left is heading. Then: the European Parliament just approved sweeping new deportation measures that would have been unthinkable five years ago. We explain what passed, what it means, and why the entire continent just shifted on immigration in a single vote. Then Hillary Clinton went viral on immigration — so we pulled the actual record. What do the numbers look like under Bill Clinton, Barack Obama, and Donald Trump? How has U.S. immigration enforcement actually evolved over thirty years? And how does Clinton's recent commentary hold up against her own administration's history? The answer is not what her supporters want to hear. The left is eating itself. The consequences are going to reshape American politics — and global politics — for a generation. And it's happening faster than anyone in the establishment is willing to admit.

We'll be back with a new episode and a rejuvenated Scott on July 9.To receive ad-free podcasts, become a Lawfare Material Supporter at www.patreon.com/lawfare. Long before anyone has been charged in the Nancy Guthrie case, the investigation into her disappearance has built a defense attorney's opening argument for them.Joining this legal breakdown are former prosecutor Eric Faddis and retired FBI agent Robin Dreeke.Tony Brueski takes the other side of the table. Start with the man who ran it: the sheriff leading the search testified under oath that he'd never been suspended as a law enforcement officer, and then records emerged suggesting otherwise — enough that his own Board of Supervisors voted to refer possible perjury to the state Attorney General. Tony breaks down what a defense lawyer does with a lead official whose own honesty is now a question for prosecutors. From there it compounds. A crime scene loose enough that a reporter strolled to the front door. Cadaver-dog searches stopped. A DNA result that pointed at the wrong man entirely. A turf war between the local department and the FBI over who controlled the evidence and where it got tested. Each one, on its own, is survivable. Stacked together, they become a theme — and themes are what juries remember. This is a hard conversation about a hard truth: the goal of an investigation isn't just to find who did it, it's to build something that survives a courtroom. Tony lays out where this one may have already failed that test, which problems get evidence thrown out before trial, which ones simply hand a jury a reason to doubt, and what it could all mean for whoever eventually stands accused.Guilty or innocent, everyone gets the same Constitution. This is what that looks like in practice.Listen to the full episode.END_LINKS:Join Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/ Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? Democratic socialism is no longer hiding behind softer political labels. Following New York City's recent primary victories by self-described Democratic Socialists, Todd examines what this movement actually believes, why prominent Democrats and media personalities are embracing it, and how it differs from America's constitutional system. Along the way, Todd reacts to comments from The View, explains why terms like "Democratic socialism" are often misunderstood, and compares the principles of the U.S. Constitution with the expanding role of government advocated by the modern Left. He also explores growing divisions within the Democratic Party—including criticism from longtime strategist James Carville—and explains why these ideological battles matter far beyond New York City.

(Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Jonathan Clark and Adam McManus Cuban Communists keep sick Protestant pastor imprisoned Christian Solidarity Worldwide reports a Protestant pastor remains in prison in Cuba amid concerns for his health. Pastor Alexis Padrón Lorenzo leads the Communion in Faith Church in Havana. Authorities detained him on June 10, physically abused him during interrogation, and blocked family members from contacting him. This happened after Lorenzo expressed opposition to the country's communist system.  Please pray for our persecuted brothers and sisters in Christ in Cuba. The country is ranked 24th on the Open Doors World Watch List of the most oppressive countries worldwide for Christians. Write a polite, 2-sentence note of objection to Cuba's top diplomat: Lianys Torres Rivera, Cuban Consulate, 2639 16th Street NW, Washington DC, 20009. Rubio urges new Columbian president to end illegal immigration to U.S. As The Worldview reported on June 23rd, the citizens of the South American country of Colombia narrowly elected conservative Abelardo De La Espriella, who was Trump-endorsed, over left-wing candidate Iván Cepeda.  De La Espriella promised a crackdown on crime.  g the election, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio posted, “The Trump Administration looks forward to working closely with your incoming administration to advance regional security cooperation, end illegal immigration to the United States, and strengthen our economic ties.” Daniel 2:21 reminds us that God “changes the times and the seasons; He removes kings and raises up kings.” Biden's illegal immigration drove up housing costs In the United States, a recent report from the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas found illegal migration under the Biden administration drove up housing costs. The report estimates that unauthorized immigrant worker flows explain  about 30% of the total growth in house prices and 20% of total growth in rents.  Listen to comments last year by Vice President J.D. Vance on the subject. VANCE: “When we talk about housing and why costs are so high, we don't talk enough about demand. One of the drivers of increased housing demand, we know, is that we've got a lot of people over the last four years who have come into the country illegally.” Four years since Roe v. Wade overturned: Pro-life laws in 19 states Four years ago, on June 24, 2022, the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade. The ruling said the U.S. Constitution does not include a right to abortion. It also handed regulation of abortion to individual states. Since then, 19 states have passed anti-abortion laws. Thirteen states ban abortions in most cases. Four states ban abortions at 6 weeks of pregnancy. And two states ban them at 12 weeks. Trump ends sexually explicit school teen programs The Daily Signal reports that the Trump administration will cut funding to many teenage pregnancy prevention programs in schools this week. The Department of Health and Human Services reviewed Teen Pregnancy Prevention Program grants. It decided to terminate most of them, ending $67 million in grants.  The administration described the grants from the Biden-era as “medically inaccurate,” “age-inappropriate,” and “sexually explicit.” U.S., Mexico, & Canada Bible societies share Christ during World Cup Bible societies are using the 2026 World Soccer Cup to engage millions of fans with Scripture. The United States, Canada, and Mexico are hosting the event. So, the American Bible Society, the Mexican Bible Society, and the Canadian Bible Society are promoting Bibles, devotionals, and evangelistic booklets.  Christian Daily International notes, “These efforts reflect a broader trend among Bible societies worldwide. As major global events attract billions of viewers, organizations are increasingly developing resources that connect Scripture with cultural moments and reach people who may not normally engage with churches or religious programs.” For example, Living Waters, founded by Evangelist Ray Comfort, has printed 2 million copies of the 2026 World Cup million-dollar bill tract available for free when you cover the shipping. Republican Senator Josh Hawley of Missouri posted a letter from the Commissioner of Major League Baseball. Hawley wrote, “The Major Leage Baseball Commissioner writes to me and admits they were wrong to threaten the Giants players over Bible verses and promises never to fine or discipline these players -- or any players for their religious beliefs.” Several San Francisco Giants Christian pitchers — Landen Roupp, Ryan Walker, and J.T. Brubaker  — referenced Genesis chapter 9 on their hats about the true meaning of the rainbow. In verses 14 and 15, God said, “It shall be, when I bring a cloud over the Earth, that the rainbow shall be seen in the cloud; and I will remember My covenant which is between Me and you and every living creature of all flesh; the waters shall never again become a flood to destroy all flesh.” Landon Roup was asked about his hand-written Scripture on his cap at a press conference. ROUP: “God's covenant, and a promise that He makes to us, that His faithfulness and His mercy. It's kind of something I believe in. I stand firm in that.” Amusingly, Cyd Ziegler, the homosexual co-founder of OutSports, was enraged by the Scripture the Christian pitchers had added to the hats. ZIEGLER: “It defaced the Pride Rainbow with a Bible verse telling the LGBT community that they do not own the rainbow, that God owns the rainbow.” Mr. Ziegler, I've got news for you.  God does own the rainbow! Send a two-sentence thank you note to Robert Manfred, Major League Baseball Commissioner, 1271 Avenue of the Americas, New York, NY 10020. The ink on the Constitution was barely dry before others were trying to control us. Yet, we are still around. As life's pace begins accelerating, it's time for careful introspection. Our 250th anniversary has left others jealous. Chy-Nah and AI together leaves a lot of questions. Venezuela entered the picture in 2017. People herd you into groups where they think you belong. Hard choices get made under threats. The message seems disconnected by design. All the factions show who the real operators are. It's a swamp within a swamp. National leaders waste time on climate myths. AI complicates human nature. Many can't handle the truth. The Tina Peters case was done all wrong. We are going to lose the House. Saudi Arabia is out of oil. Israel should have played it down the middle. Bibi is a dumb warmonger. The President has taken so much grief for the people. England is the capital of bad teeth. Psyops change by the minute. Our media can be redone without sponsors. J6 was orchestrated by the right. Katrina Pearson saved the President. Choices offer fake everything. They attack us in every way possible. Cultivating discernment is key. Here's the secret to a long life. When you cease to learn, you cease to live.

    1. HEART OF THE MATTER 1A. Record-Breaking Missionary Numbers — Pres. Oaks at New Mission Leader Seminar At the 2026 Seminar for New Mission Leaders (June 18–21, Provo MTC), President Dallin H. Oaks announced that the Church will soon have the largest number of full-time missionaries in its history, surpassing the current 87,000+ serving worldwide. The surge is driven by the first wave of 18-year-old sister missionaries (following the November policy change lowering the minimum age from 19) and the addition of 55 new missions in July, bringing the global total to 506. President Oaks outlined three characteristics defining the restored Church: (1) the fulness of doctrine (including eternal marriage between a man and a woman); (2) priesthood authority and keys; and (3) a unique testimony of Christ grounded in modern revelation and the First Vision. Sister Kristin Oaks also spoke, sharing six core truths missionaries teach. New Hymn ‘Welcome Home’ — The Story Behind It Composer Andrea Brett explains how a 2017 encounter with Demetrius O’Neal — a recent convert serving as a greeter at a Spokane ward on a snowy Sunday morning — inspired her hymn ‘Welcome Home,’ now published in the new Hymns for Home and Church. Brett submitted 10 pieces when the global hymnbook was announced in 2018; this was the only one she’d written before the call. She received confirmation of its selection in February 2025, then had a full-circle moment when she and O’Neal sat near each other at the April 2025 General Conference as the Tabernacle Choir performed it. O’Neal’s name appears in the hymn’s tune name as a tribute. The hymn is now translated and sung globally. Source: Church Newsroom / Richie’s document 1C. Family History Records Are a ‘Sacred Thread’ — Elder Bragg at International Archivists Congress Elder Mark A. Bragg, General Authority Seventy and executive director of the Church’s Family History Department and FamilySearch International, was a keynote speaker at the III Congress of Archivists: Digital Archive Expo (DA-EXPO), held June 8–12 in Astana, Kazakhstan. He called family history records ‘the thin but sacred thread’ tying people together across generations, and argued that records are ‘in a very real sense, witnesses.’ Elder Bragg framed the digital revolution in genealogy in moral terms: for most of history, access to records was shaped by ‘proximity, resources and specialized knowledge,’ but today a record created in one place can be preserved in another, indexed in a third, and discovered by someone on the other side of the world. ‘The reach is astonishing. The speed is breathtaking. The possibilities are almost beyond measure.’ He also said that ‘access is an act of kindness’ — records only fulfill their divine purpose when they are found, understood, and used. His core message: preserving memory is an act of hope. ‘It says that the past is not dead to us and that the future deserves more than fragments.’ Source: Church News, June 17, 2026 Angle: Great ‘quiet but meaningful’ story — LDS family history going global and leveling the playing field for genealogy worldwide. 1D. America Gives — All 50 States Receive Food Donations The Church completed a milestone in its ‘America Gives’ initiative by delivering a shipping container of food to Hilo, Hawaii — marking all 50 states reached. The initiative aims to deliver 250 truckloads of food nationwide in 2026 to celebrate the U.S. 250th anniversary. In Hawaii, the food went to The Food Basket, distributed to 10 local nonprofits. Notably, 42% of residents on the island of Hawaii face food insecurity — the state’s highest rate. Rosie Rios, chair of America 250 and former U.S. Treasurer, praised the milestone. Local Methodist pastor Ted Lesnett said recipients will know ‘when they were hungry, someone cared.’ Source: Church Newsroom / Richie’s document 1E. Church Donates $250,000 NZD to Christchurch Anglican Cathedral Rebuild The Church announced a NZ$250,000 donation (June 19, 2026) toward the restoration of Christchurch’s iconic Anglican Cathedral — damaged in the February 2011 earthquake. Elder Peter F. Meurs (Pacific Area President) and Anglican Bishop Peter Carrell presided at the announcement. The donation comes as the project faces a $45M funding shortfall and an overall $219M budget. The Christchurch City Council has offered $15M contingent on government and Anglican Church matches. Notably, a New Zealand Buddhist community made a similar gift in 2023 — the LDS donation continues a cross-faith pattern of support for the heritage project. Source: Richie’s document Angle: Rare and heartwarming — LDS funds an Anglican cathedral. Good interfaith story. 1F. Central America Humanitarian Blitz — 5 Projects, 500,000+ People In late May and early June 2026, the Church announced five humanitarian projects across Central America (with Sister J. Anette Dennis, First Counselor in the Relief Society General Presidency, representing the Church). Projects include: the ‘Windows of Light’ eyecare program in El Salvador (350,000+ screenings to date); safe water access for 250,000+ in Belize, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua (with UNICEF); nearly 750 computers/tablets donated to 66 educational institutions in Guatemala; and medical equipment for the ‘La Mascota’ children’s hospital in Nicaragua. Source: Church Newsroom, June 2026 2. FAITH & DOCTRINE 2A. President Christofferson in Philadelphia & Toronto A busy week of ministry for President D. Todd Christofferson: He offered the invocation at Becket’s Canterbury Medal Gala in Philadelphia (multifaith event celebrating religious liberty), alongside Elder Gary E. Stevenson and others. The group also visited the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall — fitting, ahead of America’s 250th. Christofferson reflected on D&C 101 and the Constitution’s purpose to protect ‘all flesh.’ From Philadelphia, he and Sister Christofferson traveled to Toronto, meeting 250+ missionaries in the Canada Toronto Mission weeks before it divides into three missions (Toronto West, Toronto East, and Montreal). He also spoke to hundreds of LDS youth, with one — Amelia Fischer — saying ‘no amount of words can describe how I felt tonight.’ Source: Richie’s document / Church Newsroom 2B. BYU Scholar Study: Religion Adds 7.6 Years to Life The BYU Wheatley Institute is releasing three reports analyzing 3,000 of the most scientifically rigorous studies (culled from 60,000+ papers by Duke University) on religion and health. Key findings: 33/34 studies show improved social health; 10/11 show improved mental health; 7/8 show improved physical health. Regular worshippers live an average of 7.6 years longer (up to 13.7 years longer for African Americans). A ‘landmark finding’: 256 studies show religion prevents/aids recovery from substance abuse (vs. 6 showing negative impact). Author Loren Marks recommends public health frameworks treat religious involvement like exercise recommendations. Source: Richie’s document 2C. Elder Soares Testifies in the Philippines Elder Ulisses Soares completed a two-week ministry in the Philippines (mid-May 2026), meeting with 600+ young single adults in Cebu, 450+ in Quezon City, and 340+ missionaries at the Philippines MTC. His recurring message: ‘His arms are extended to all of us.’ The Philippines has more than 905,000 Latter-day Saints — the Church’s fourth-largest national membership. Two new temples were also dedicated in the Philippines this month: the Davao Philippines Temple (Elder Renlund, May 3) and the Bacolod Philippines Temple (Elder Andersen, May 31). Source: Church Newsroom, June 17, 2026 3. CULTURE & CURIOSITIES 3A. LDS Author in Everyman’s Library — A First BYU biology and bioethics professor Steven L. Peck has reportedly become the first Latter-day Saint author included in the prestigious Everyman’s Library series (publishing canonical English fiction since 1906). His 2012 novella A Short Stay in Hell — a philosophical horror story about a Mormon man condemned to an afterlife library containing every possible book — went viral on BookTok and found a new audience. A literature historian noted: ‘No Mormon or Mormon-adjacent writer that I know of has ever been featured in this prestigious series.’ The Salt Lake Tribune covered the story, noting the irony that a theological horror story marks one of the most significant moments in LDS literary history. Source: Salt Lake Tribune / Richie’s document 3B. The Sasine Family — 40 Countries Before Age 1 Keith and Chelsea Sasine, an LDS couple stationed in Germany (Keith is an Army oral surgeon), made history in November 2025 by taking their youngest daughter Mia to 40 countries before her first birthday (March–November 2025), using a Honda Odyssey for European road trips. The family of six (including Izzy, 10; Abby, 9; and John, 4) attends local wards wherever they travel — a faith anchor the couple says strengthened their testimony and taught their kids the importance of the Sabbath globally. They’re planning a move to Colorado Springs in 2026. Source: Richie’s document 3C. In this hard-hitting episode of the Adult in the Room podcast, Victoria Taft breaks down a massive week of institutional victories, thwarted conspiracies, and pure leftist absurdity. First, we unpack a monumental 6-3 Supreme Court victory for the Constitution and border security. The court has ruled that the Immigration and Naturalization Act (INA) does not require border officers to present "clear and convincing evidence" before treating criminal green card holders as returning aliens subject to immediate removal proceedings. Then, real justice strikes in Fort Worth, Texas. In the first federal Antifa terrorism prosecution in U.S. history, eight members of a North Texas Antifa terror cell have been sentenced to a combined 450 years in federal prison for a coordinated shooting ambush on an ICE facility. Victoria exposes the ringleaders, the weapons, and the delusion behind this militant cell. Plus: Two more fast-moving FBI arrests reveal terrifying new details of a 3D-printed drone and sniper plot targeting the White House UFC Freedom 250 event. We also dive into an emergency Iran SITREP as Secretary of State Marco Rubio heads to the Gulf to manage fracturing alliances over the controversial 14-point ceasefire deal, right as the IDF uncovers an underground drone airbase in Lebanon. Finally, we look at the pure comedy of "Team Algae" activists vandalizing the D.C. reflecting pool, and offer a heartfelt tribute to the legendary talk radio host Martha Zoller.

The making of India's Constitution is usually told as the story of the few hundred prominent lawyers, politicians, and intellectuals who comprised the Constituent Assembly—the body tasked with drafting this historic document between 1946 and 1949. But a new book by the scholars Rohit De and Ornit Shani, Assembling India's Constitution: A New Democratic History, argues this familiar account captures only part of the story. Drawing on a remarkable range of archival material, the book shows that constitution-making was not confined to the halls of the Constituent Assembly alone. It also played out in provincial legislatures, princely states, government offices, civic associations, and communities across India. Ordinary citizens debated the constitution, petitioned its authors, organized around it, and creatively sought to shape its provisions. To discuss the book and its relevance for our understanding of India's democratic evolution, Rohit and Ornit join Milan on the show this week. Rohit is a professor of history at Yale University and the author of A People's Constitution: The Everyday Life of Law in the Indian Republic. Ornit is an associate professor of Asian Studies at Haifa University. She is the author of How India Became Democratic: Citizenship and the Making of the Universal Franchise. The trio discuss the serendipitous origins of the book, the authors' unusual writing process, and the gaps in the conventional account of India's constitution-making. Plus, the three talk about overlooked constitution-making efforts in the princely states and the forgotten story of Manipur's democratic experiment.
