Was es dafür braucht?
RPA-Bots, digitale Bestellfreigabe, SmartBANF2PO etc. Mehr Infos zum Thema Digitalisierung finden Sie hier: https://www.durchdenkenvorne.de/beratung/digitalisierungsstrategie-im-einkauf/
Welcome back to The Procuretech Podcast! We're continuing our mini series where we ask industry experts and influencers about everything happening in the digital procurement world. Procuretech Driving Procurement Excellence - Graham Crawshaw from CASME Today's guest is Graham Crawshaw, Director of Procurement Content for CASME - a sponsor-free membership organisation for procurement professionals. Having already been a guest on https://casme.com/podcast/episode-8-demystifying-procurement-tech-james-meads (an episode of Graham's own podcast), it was high time to invite him onto the Procuretech Podcast. 02:08 We open up with a look back over Graham's career. From indirect procurement at EMI, to running procurement roundtables, and eventually finding his role at CASME. 05:07 How does Graham think the impact of procurement technology has changed, comparing now to five or even ten years ago? From writing a thesis on computer aided procurement in the early nineties and throughout his career, Graham's had a unique vantage point. He shares the story from his point of view. 06:51 How AI and machine learning are allowing us to push more frontiers in data analysis. We also touch on the frustratingly slow uptake for procurement tech, and how surprisingly few businesses embrace the full potential of good analytics. 12:39 Leaner teams on tighter budgets mean that there's often an education gap in the mid-market. We talk about how to encourage smaller businesses to welcome digital transformation. 14:00 Discussing the challenges that procurement teams face in smaller organisations, and how they can get their voice heard. We also discuss the importance of UI and UX in appealing to Gen Z, and bringing fresh talent into our profession. 15:00 The importance of interpreting data in spend analytics, and how pie charts alone do not represent actionable understanding. We explain the value of conversation and facilitation when it comes to educating people about technology, and how CASME's sponsor-free approach makes it a unique source of knowledge. 17:27 What does Graham think is driving the agenda when it comes to changes in procurement? 19:14 We touch on the fantastic work of Prof. Dr. Florian Kleemann. Florian spoke with us on a https://procurementsoftware.site/captivate-podcast/the-procuretech-pub-florian-kleemann/ (previous Procuretech Podcast episode), and had some really interesting things to say on change management. 20:39 Graham shares his experiences from hosting a recent panel discussion on eProcurement. 23:05 What did Graham notice about the participants in that discussion group? Was there any correlations between industries, their maturity, their complexity and their willingness to adopt procurement tech? Or was it fairly random? 24:38 We wrap up today's podcast by thanking Graham for his time and asking where you can learn more about CASME. You'll find all the relevant links below. Inside Public Procurement: Heroic Stories from the Frontlines
New technology can be scary to a lot of people which is why digital transformation can be a huge deal in an organization—especially in public sector agencies where tech is notoriously lagging. Leading a new software implementation doesn't start with technical things, it starts with the very human elements. Getting people on board with change is one of the hardest parts of the implementation process and involving your team in the transition right from the beginning is a winning strategy. On this episode of Inside Public Procurement, we sat down to chat with Kyle Jurgens, Category Specialist in procurement at the University of Saskatchewan. Kyle received the Leadership award—nominated by multiple colleagues—in this year's Bonfire Procurement Awards after successfully leading the implementation of eProcurement at USask. Kyle shares his wisdom on leading change in your organization, what engaging stakeholders and obtaining buy-in looks like, and why procurement digital transformation is a team sport. Inside Public Procurement: Heroic Stories from the Frontlines
A tale as old as time in public agencies: stunted communication between departments, barriers to collaboration, and a lack of transparency. When it comes to being a part of decisions, the procurement department doesn't always get a seat at the table. Being left out of those conversations can have a chain reaction of consequences both internally and externally. This coupled with lagging technology can really throw a wrench in dreams of a collaborative, efficient, and transparent public purchasing process. For Boyd Donavon, Assistant Purchasing Agent for the County of Ventura, being involved in purchasing decisions and planning means more job satisfaction for his peers, open lines of communication with other departments, and building public trust through open and transparent processes. As a centerpiece to all of these topics, Boyd champions digital transformation in government agencies and sheds light on the County's efforts to move to eProcurement in 2019, how that affected them during the pandemic, and why others should make the switch. In this episode of Inside Public Procurement, listen in on this conversation between Boyd and Bonfire CEO Omar Salaymeh and hear about all of these topics—plus how the County of Ventura's procurement department became heroes during the pandemic. Inside Public Procurement: Heroic Stories from the Frontlines
We've learned a lot over the last two years: for one, that responding to a global public health crisis depends on strong strategic sourcing partners; and on the flipside, that supporting urgent, high-impact projects is next to impossible with a procurement process that lives in filing cabinets and email inboxes. Procurement teams have had to ask some tough questions and strategize about how to respond faster and stronger to the next big challenge. In this episode of Inside Public Procurement, we're bringing you a recorded webinar featuring the story of UT Health San Antonio, a leading research university in South Texas. Even before the pandemic, UT Health San Antonio knew their ability to deliver valuable real-world solutions would be hampered by old approaches to sourcing and purchasing. Training future generations of healthcare professionals and driving breakthroughs in healthcare would require a strong procurement strategy. Strategic Sourcing Specialist Christopher C. Januszewski describes the journey to implement a digital procurement system and build a strategic sourcing department from the ground up. You'll learn how eProcurement helped centralize and streamline sourcing for the busy research university—and how it can help your organization do the same. What does 25 years in procurement teach you? Maybe the better question is, what doesn't it?Just ask Carrie Roberts, Director of Procurement at Atlanta Public Schools. With more than two decades in purchasing-related roles, she's guided agencies through major transformation, earned multiple procurement certifications, and achieved national recognition from her peers. While it may be true, as Carrie says, that “little children don't dress up as purchasing agents for Halloween,” it's safe to say she's carved out an impressive career.Through it all, she's seen the profession evolve, processes change, and public purchasing come into its own. WBSRocks: Business Growth with ERP and Digital Transformation
Procurement plays an extremely important role in ensuring that you have the right raw materials at the right place at the right time. They are also responsible for the S&OP planning, which is the hardest to master, and misaligned S&OP functions could significantly impact the top and bottom line. And they are often left behind when it comes to their technology needs. They are also an afterthought in the organization in creating sophisticated procurement processes that will have tangible financial results. But what do procurement professionals need to perform their duties? Is ERP enough? Or do they need more? Where do systems such as P2P, CLM, Spend Analysis, Supplier Discovery, Supplier Information Management, eSourcing, Contract Management, eProcurement, eInvoicing, Supplier Management fit in the architecture? And how to design an architecture that allows companies to create process boundaries between these systems and share information while maintaining a single source of truth. In today's episode, we invited a panel of cross-functional experts for a live interview on LinkedIn who brings significant expertise to discuss procurement information architecture. We covered many grounds, including stories related to the different systems that procurement function needs and the role of MDM and CLM in the architecture. Finally, we discussed the vendor collaboration required at the various stages of the order lifecycle, starting from the design, procurement, finance, and production. For more information on growth strategies for SMBs using ERP and digital transformation, visit our community at wbs.rocks or elevatiq.com. Large scale M&A creates a lot of work for finance teams. Everyone gets busy. Systems need to get consolidated, vendor masters merged, suppliers communicated to, and so on.When everyone is busy, a common project that gets postponed or cancelled is a recovery audit. At Alaska Airlines, it fell off the to-do list for several years.“I didn't think apexanalytix was going to find much, but knew some mistakes were made during the merger period,” said Lori Foley, Director, Customer & Vendor Payments at Alaska Airlines. “Pretty quickly in the audit, we started seeing recoveries from warranties and rebates. Activities we didn't have visibility to.”Like most other companies, Alaska saw that the mistakes were happening outside AP. And the audit provided the necessary data to close the gaps through technology or periodic cross-departmental reviews of known issues. If you have postponed an audit or just haven't had one in years, this webinar will provide you with the reasons why you should have one every year – from the perspective of someone who has postponed it before.Watch the webinar to hear Lori to discuss:Best time to get IT resources for projectsWhat happens outside AP, stays outside APThe Deployment SpikeA case for an annual recovery auditAddressing control gaps with new tech: CLM, eProcurement, eSettlementWebinar slides: https://bit.ly/3j6Ph66 Webinar video: https://www.apexanalytix.com/resources/webinars/how-alaska-airlines-fixing-errors-caused-maSpeakers:Lori Foley Director, Customer & Vendor Payments at Alaska AirlinesPhil Beane, SVP, Global Field Operations at apexanalytixMark Brousseau, President at Brousseau & Associates
