Happy Birthday!

Systemic therapists are well suited to consult organizations given the structural concepts pioneered by early family therapists. Additionally, family therapists are suited for consultant work with organizations because of their interest in the welfare of the individuals and the system. This interest allows the family therapists to work toward improving the interactions between managers and employees, for example, to strengthen the system's productivity. Connect with me --> https://drmatmonharrell.bio.link/Written by Dr. Matmon Harrell References Allen, K.R., & Henderson, A.C. In this episode of the Workforce Connections Podcast, we sit down with Tami Hance-Lehr, State Director and CEO of Communities In Schools of Nevada (CIS)—a woman whose career journey embodies resilience, reinvention, and a deep commitment to the community. Tami shares her story, beginning in Ogden, Utah, before her family relocated to Las Vegas during her sophomore year of high school. A proud Clark High School alum and UNLV graduate, Tami entered the workforce early, balancing school and work with grit and grace. What began as a part-time gig helping with an event during CES evolved into a 26-year career at Destinations by Design, where she played a pivotal role in growing the company from three employees to over 100, producing major events across Las Vegas.Despite her success in the private sector, Tami felt called to serve in a different way. Through her involvement with Nevada Women's Philanthropy, she discovered the world of nonprofit leadership. That spark eventually led her to CIS in 2017, where she began as Director of Development and quickly rose to the position of CEO. Under her leadership, CIS now serves 118 schools across Nevada, providing full-time site coordinators on campus to support students with whatever they need—whether it be clean clothes, food, school supplies, or emotional guidance. Tami passionately explains that CIS removes barriers, allowing educators to teach and students to learn. “There is brilliance in every student,” she says. “Sometimes they just need an opportunity.”Tami also highlighted the importance of partnerships, including the one with Workforce Connections, which equips CIS site coordinators with tools to help students and families connect to employment, childcare, and essential community services. She's a firm believer that nonprofits must work together rather than in silos, and thanks to programs like the Opportunity Youth Initiative, those collaborations are stronger than ever. Looking ahead, CIS is celebrating its mission and the students it serves at the Power Within Breakfast on April 25 at 8 a.m. at Red Rock Resort. This uplifting event will honor an elementary, middle, and high school student of the year, as well as standout site coordinators and community partners. Additionally, the upcoming Mentor Matchup will offer local professionals the opportunity to connect directly with students and share valuable career insights. Tami also shared her excitement about the future Shaquille O'Neal Youth Complex, a first-of-its-kind community hub opening on the east side of Las Vegas, which will include a CIS Alumni Center to support young adults aged 18–24 as they transition into the workforce or higher education.Outside of her impactful work, Tami finds peace and joy hiking across Nevada's stunning landscapes alongside her husband, a retired firefighter, and their two Labrador retrievers. Whether exploring Red Rock Canyon or the Ruby Mountains, she finds balance in the outdoors. Her advice to young people is simple yet powerful: “Say yes more often than you say no.” You probably know more than you think you do. And never underestimate the power of your network—relationships will open more doors than you can imagine.”Community In Schools:Communities In Schools of Nevada | Student Support For All Kids

PRESS PLAY AND LISTEN NOW... Elizabeth Wharton Drexel was a quintessential ingenue of the Gilded Age. Eventual heiress to the Drexel banking fortune, elegant and sophisticated, Elizabeth married but was widowed unexpectedly. But she married again, this time to Harry Symes Lehr, a bon vivant and social playboy.  But she soon learned her life was to become a reality far from what she ever expected. This episode tells the story of Elizabeth Drexel and Harry Lehr along with the world in which they lived.  In 1935, after Harry's death, Elizabeth wrote what we would perhaps today call a "tell all" memoir -- King Lehr and the Gilded Age -- recounting the challenges of her marriage but also the frivolity and froth of the Gilded Age from her own observances as an up-close participant. Her observances are some of the most acute and incisive we have on the period. Visit the Gilded Gentleman website for more information and episodesThis episode was edted by Kieran Gannon

we had an engaging conversation about Matt's hunting journey and experiences. Matt has primarily hunted on public land, with a brief stint on private land, and has traveled extensively across the United States to pursue his passion. He found success more quickly in other states with larger and older deer populations. However, Matt emphasized that his love for hunting is driven more by the adventure and the challenge of exploring new terrains than by the size of the bucks.Matt also discussed his approach to scouting and hunting, highlighting the importance of finding thick bedding areas, pinch points, and scrapes. He shared his experiences of hunting in various states, including Nebraska, Illinois, Indiana, and Missouri, and his plans for the upcoming season. We touched on the pressures hunters face, especially from social media, and the importance of enjoying the process rather than focusing solely on the kill. Matt shared his insights on how this mindset shift has made him a better and more consistent hunter.Towards the end of our conversation, Matt talked about his mobile hunting setup, which includes a customized 4Runner that serves as his "Mobile Motel 2.0." He also shared his thoughts on the ideal duration for hunting trips and the balance between preparation and adaptability.

Listen in as Jack discusses how he leverages his investment background to provide unique opportunities for his team and how he keeps them motivated and accountable to achieve outstanding results. Jack's story offers valuable lessons on building a successful real estate business with a focus on people, process, and performance.   “The most important part of anything in sales and business is showing up. And I always say, show up with a grateful heart. When you stop doing that, there's a good chance we're going to have a boost up conversation to try to, let's get this thing squared away so we can all increase our revenue and increase our contributions to the culture, because we want them to be there alongside their other teammates. But when the other teammates see that someone is not showing up 100% and we have 100% mandatory show up for meetings. We meet daily, Monday, Wednesday, Friday, via zoom at 9: 30 and Tuesdays and Thursdays are in-person, and we will bring part time agents onto our team with a path to full time within a certain time frame. If it doesn't happen, we have to part ways.” - Jack Lehr   Key highlights from this episode: Approach to Building Sales Teams:Jack emphasizes the importance of professional training for his sales teams, using systems like Sandler Sales Training to build effective sales processes.  Sales Training and Development: The business invests heavily in sales training to improve conversion rates and enhance customer interactions. Jack's approach is about mindset, building skills, and teaching team members to value themselves and their services. Team Culture and Accountability: Culture fit is a critical factor in team success. Family Life's "Staycation Destinations" this week takes you to Somewhere Over the Rainbow!.... L. Frank Baum's hometown -- Chittenango, New York -- has a claim to fame that draws together everyone from cowardly lions to scarecrows to tin men.... and your little dog too. Baum wrote the book that inspired the 1939 Judy Garland movie "The Wizard of Oz".  The "All Things Oz" Museum celebrates that legacy, and a century's worth of so many more stage, literary and screen versions of the "classic American fairy tale". Museum Director Allison Lehr talks about the displays and archives available at this museum, once you step off of the Yellow Brick Road and into the building. Greg Gillispie asks her to talk about why Dorothy and her adventures in the Land of Oz have such a significant place in American culture.  (And it's not just Americans either --- visitors from multiple countries have dropped by this attraction in Madison County of central New York.)   The "All Things Oz" Museum has a website and multiple social media outreaches. [www.AllThingsOz.org] Its hours are Wednesday through Sunday, 10 a.m. through 5 p.m.  (The Museum and its Historical Foundation host an annual festival too -- Oz-Stravaganza -- typically in early June.)         “Staycation Destinations” is our weekly summer series, broadcast each Friday at noon on the radio and online, then posted to our News Podcasts page. Each offers a radio tour of a unique site in Pennsylvania or New York, fairly close to home, fairly inexpensive, and good for a potential day trip or longer visit by individuals, couples, families, friends or church groups.

Schopenhauer wrote, “Fate shuffles the cards, and we play.” Every day, every decision we make sparks a chain reaction of others, leading us down a particular path. And with every choice, a universe of other un-choices spins away behind us, forgotten. We all like to think we're the master of our own destiny, but sometimes…we fall to the whims of chance instead. This is one of those stories—of two boys whose monster egos sent them down a path of destruction, and two innocent victims whose only crime was being there.Sources:Judgment Ridge by Lehr and ZuckoffFollow us, campers!Patreon (join to get all episodes ad-free, at least a day early, an extra episode a month, and a free sticker!): https://patreon.com/TrueCrimeCampfirehttps://www.truecrimecampfirepod.com/Facebook: True Crime CampfireInstagram: https://gramha.net/profile/truecrimecampfire/19093397079Twitter: @TCCampfire https://twitter.com/TCCampfireEmail: truecrimecampfirepod@gmail.comMERCH! https://true-crime-campfire.myspreadshop.com

Welcome to the Red Letters & Whitetails Podcast! One episode 12, host Steven Crawford jumps into 1 Peter 2:23-25. These verses tie together great with "Good Friday"; the day that Jesus died on the cross to save us from our sins. Christians love to talk about the resurrection, and rightly so, as it is the greatest ending of the greatest true story every told. However, we don't talk enough about Good Friday and everything Jesus endured for us that day as he was mocked, betrayed, beaten, and ultimately crucified. Steven does a deep dive into Good Friday and why such an awful day just under 2,000 years ago is now deemed as "Good."After that, Steven is joined by Matt Lehr, the podcast host of the "Mobile Hunters Dojo" and avid whitetail hunter. They discuss the trap a lot of passionate hunters fall into, which is an identity crisis, when we tend to tie or identity and value to our success in the whitetail woods. Matt also shares his story on tagging a 200+ public land buck this past fall in Illinois; a true monarch of a whitetail! This is an episode you don't want to miss!! SUBSCRIBE AND ENJOY! For those mamas who experienced their waters breaking - how long did it take for labor to begin after that? Well in the case of today's guest, Jenna Lehr, her water broke on a Tuesday, and her baby was born that Saturday! What we love about this detail is the opportunity it provides to normalize all the unique aspects of every woman's body, baby and birth itself. Sometimes waters break and it takes a while (or days) for active labor to begin). Sometimes the waters break in the middle of labor. Sometimes during delivery. Sometimes they break multiple times. And sometimes they don't break! In this birth story we get to hear how Jenna and her husband Jason planned for their home birth. It evolved from knowing nothing about birth to watching “The Business of Being Born” and seeking more information to having preconception appointments to talk about what birth could be and look like. We also talk about dealing with the doubt that can creep in - the pressure, stress and emotion that pops up and tests your conviction. And how her husband Jason was super involved and supportive in the whole process.  Offers From Our Awesome Partners: Needed: https://bit.ly/2DuMBxP - use code DIAH to get 20% off your order Splash Blanket: https://bit.ly/3JPe1g0 - use code DIAH for 10% off your order Esembly: https://bit.ly/3eanCSz - use code DIH20 to get 20% off your order More From Doing It At Home: Send us your birth story: https://bit.ly/3jOjCKl Doing It At Home book on Amazon: https://amzn.to/3vJcPmU DIAH Website: https://www.diahpodcast.com/ DIAH Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/doingitathome/ DIAH YouTube: https://bit.ly/3pzuzQC DIAH Merch: www.diahpodcast.com/merch Give Back to DIAH: https://bit.ly/3qgm4r9 Learn more about your ad choices.
