In This Podcast: Edmund Williams returns to discuss the LEHR Garden system and a breakthrough soil product emerging from it: LEHR Soil Amplifier. By combining ecological soil biology with engineered water flow, the LEHR system grows plants in primarily woody materials while composting beneath living roots. The resulting extracted soil behaves as a powerful biostimulant, dramatically improving plant growth, resilience, and heat tolerance. This episode explores living soil, stable carbon, and how feeding soil organisms transforms plant health. Our Guest: Edmund is a civil engineer and innovator in the urban and sustainable agriculture arena. He has been working with various municipalities and nonprofits to transform the ways our society feeds itself. The Lear Garden was designed to be a low maintenance system using biology as a part of the automation. To do this, Edmond created a compost bin as the core technology, and like any compost bin, it needs to be emptied periodically, The finished compost that comes out is unlike anything on the market having some very surprising and beneficial properties.Key TopicsLEHR Garden (Linking Ecosystem and Hardware for Regeneration)LEHR Soil AmplifierBiostimulants in agricultureLiving soil biologyStable soil carbonGlomalin and mycorrhizal fungiBiochar as nutrient bufferUrban waste stream compostingFlood-and-drain raised bed systemsHeat resilience in desert gardeningSoil food webTall pot tree propagation methodWhat makes a LEHR Garden different from hydroponics or permaculture alone? It integrates both ecology and hardware, using a raised flood-and-drain system filled mostly with wood chips and organic waste, allowing plants to grow in living soil biology rather than inert media. Why does the garden soil need to be removed and reset? As woody materials break down, water flow slows, causing anaerobic conditions. Removing and resetting the soil restores oxygen flow and system performance. What is LEHR Soil Amplifier? It is the sifted, biologically rich soil produced inside the system, containing earthworm castings, biochar, microbial life, and multiple known biostimulant compounds. How is this different from regular compost?Unlike compost made separately, this material forms beneath living roots, encouraging creation of stable soil carbon compounds such as glomalin, which are critical to true topsoil structure. How much is needed to see results?Very small amounts are effective — about one gallon can treat roughly 1,000 square feet of garden space. What plant responses have been observed?Reports include greener lawns, higher vegetable productivity, improved pest and disease resistance, thicker rose petals, and rapid recovery of stressed trees. Can it improve heat tolerance?Gardeners observed lush summer growth during record heat, with plants surviving and producing through extreme desert temperatures. What is the underlying mechanism? The product stimulates soil biology, increases mycorrhizal activity, provides mineral buffering through biochar, and enhances nutrient cycling.Episode HighlightsLEHR stands for Linking Ecosystem and Hardware for RegenerationGardens grow food in mostly wood chips enriched by composting beneath rootsSoil removal became the “problem that was the solution”Sifted soil behaves as a high-density biological stimulantStable soil carbon forms directly through plant–fungal interactionsOne gallon treats approximately 1,000 square feetGardeners report dramatic improvements during...

Using OWASP SAMM to assess and improve compliance with the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) is an excellent strategy, as SAMM provides a framework for secure development practices such as secure by design principles and handling vulns. Segment Resources: https://owaspsamm.org/ https://cybersecuritycoalition.be/resource/a-strategic-approach-to-product-security-with-owasp-samm/ As genAI becomes a more popular tool in software engineering, the definition of “secure coding” is changing. This session explores how artificial intelligence is reshaping the way developers learn, apply, and scale secure coding practices — and how new risks emerge when machines start generating the code themselves. We'll dive into the dual challenge of securing both human-written and AI-assisted code, discuss how enterprises can validate AI outputs against existing security standards, and highlight practical steps teams can take to build resilience into the entire development pipeline. Join us as we look ahead to the convergence of secure software engineering and AI security — where trust, transparency, and tooling will define the future of code safety. When Corey Lehr purchased Monarch Hunting Products, he had no idea the obstacles, challenges, or growth that was to follow. The years between then and now have been nothing short of humbling and extraordinary. Corey joins us to share both his personal journey, and the story of Monarch; a Texas-based company building deer blinds, feeders, and other essentials for blue collar hunters. Corey's story has taken lots of turns, but because of his faith and his family, he has successfully steered a business that was destined to fail into a fast-growing, trusted and recognized brand for the every day American outdoorsman. Tune in for an authentic conversation with one of the best humans we've had the pleasure of speaking to. On the evening of January 27, 2001, Roxana Verona arrived at the Etna, NH home of her friends Half and Susanne Zantop for a dinner the couple had planned with friends that night. When no one answered the door, Verona entered the home and found the brutalized bodies of Half and Susanne, both dead from multiple stab wounds. The murder of the Zantops shocked the tiny community of Etna and the faculty and students of Dartmouth College, where the couple worked at the time of their deaths. The murder baffled local police, who had very little experience with violent crime, much less murder. The first few weeks of the investigation were hampered by an overwhelming number of unhelpful tips from the public and considerable time was wasted on chasing false leads. When investigators finally caught up with the killers nearly a month later, their identities were not at all what anyone was expecting, and their motive for the murder made even less sense.ResourcesBelkin, Douglas, and Lois Shea. What happens when Bitcoin meets real estate, alternative assets, and personal freedom? In this episode, Will Lehr breaks down how he went from helping clients invest in gold and silver IRAs to building a self-directed IRA platform that lets people hold Bitcoin, real estate, and more, all outside the traditional financial system. We talk about the mechanics of setting up a self-directed IRA, what makes the IRA LLC model different, and how to stay within IRS rules when it comes to physical gold, silver, and cold storage for Bitcoin. Will also explains why tools like the Unchained IRA are changing how people think about retirement planning. Then we shift to life in Surf City El Salvador, where Will is now developing land with like-minded Bitcoiners who care about sovereignty, sustainability, and long-term vision. If you're interested in real estate in Surf City, this conversation covers what kind of properties are still available, what's already sold out, and how demand is shifting fast.Whether you're holding metal, sats, or land, this episode is for anyone rethinking how to build a life and a portfolio that actually reflects your values. Systemic therapists are well suited to consult organizations given the structural concepts pioneered by early family therapists. Additionally, family therapists are suited for consultant work with organizations because of their interest in the welfare of the individuals and the system. This interest allows the family therapists to work toward improving the interactions between managers and employees, for example, to strengthen the system's productivity. Elizabeth Wharton Drexel was a quintessential ingenue of the Gilded Age. Eventual heiress to the Drexel banking fortune, elegant and sophisticated, Elizabeth married but was widowed unexpectedly. But she married again, this time to Harry Symes Lehr, a bon vivant and social playboy. But she soon learned her life was to become a reality far from what she ever expected. This episode tells the story of Elizabeth Drexel and Harry Lehr along with the world in which they lived. In 1935, after Harry's death, Elizabeth wrote what we would perhaps today call a "tell all" memoir -- King Lehr and the Gilded Age -- recounting the challenges of her marriage but also the frivolity and froth of the Gilded Age from her own observances as an up-close participant. Her observances are some of the most acute and incisive we have on the period. Visit the Gilded Gentleman website for more information and episodesThis episode was edted by Kieran Gannon

Our homes are meant to be where we feel the safest, so it makes sense that there's an entire horror movie subgenre dedicated to home invasions. The Strangers, Panic Room, Funny Games, When a Stranger Calls, even Jordan Peele's Us. All those movies play on the innate fear we have that our most peaceful area would be disturbed by those that would do us harm. Unfortunately, there are people out there that would do us harm just for being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Today, we're finishing one of those stories. Schopenhauer wrote, “Fate shuffles the cards, and we play.” Every day, every decision we make sparks a chain reaction of others, leading us down a particular path. And with every choice, a universe of other un-choices spins away behind us, forgotten. We all like to think we're the master of our own destiny, but sometimes…we fall to the whims of chance instead. This is one of those stories—of two boys whose monster egos sent them down a path of destruction, and two innocent victims whose only crime was being there.Sources:Judgment Ridge by Lehr and ZuckoffFollow us, campers!Patreon (join to get all episodes ad-free, at least a day early, an extra episode a month, and a free sticker!): https://patreon.com/TrueCrimeCampfirehttps://www.truecrimecampfirepod.com/Facebook: True Crime CampfireInstagram: https://gramha.net/profile/truecrimecampfire/19093397079Twitter: @TCCampfire https://twitter.com/TCCampfireEmail: truecrimecampfirepod@gmail.comMERCH! https://true-crime-campfire.myspreadshop.com
