Welcome back to MU! This week we take a look at Why Time Flies by Alan Burdick and find out that even “official” time is a negotiated average built from clocks around the world. Then we move into the story of Michel Siffre, who removed himself from daylight, clocks, calendars, and ordinary human routine, and his cave experiments reveal just how quickly the body's internal rhythms can drift when they're cut loose from the outside world. Welcome to your Plus+ Extension, and thank you all for joining us on Plus+! Animals, along with all living things, are affected by cosmic rhythms and celestial cycles. Snails and crabs live by the tides, even in laboratories nowhere near the ocean. Cats with internal clocks that can be adjusted on command. Disappearing dogs that return without fail every Christmas. Biological clocks are nature's timing systems here to help regulate the behavior of all forms of life. From the simplest organism to man himself, and do so quite efficiently. Today we enjoy the 1970 book The Strange World of Animals and Pets by Vincent and Margaret Gaddis. Dedicated to all the pets, who rule us with an iron paw. In this solo episode, Bradley Hamner breaks down the three functional areas of a business: growth, delivery and fulfillment, and operations. Owners lean hard into one of them based on what they did before they started the company, and that tilt shows up in the books they read, the conferences they attend, and the problems they instinctively reach for.Bradley explains how growth splits further into marketing and sales, why a strong sales background often leaves the marketing function underbuilt, and why operations is the area he sees optimized least. He closes with a three-step thinking exercise: name the area you lean into, name the area that needs the most work, then decide whether the fix is a hire or a system. This conversation moves beyond self-assessment and into the decision that follows it. Which area gets your attention by default? Which one is quietly capping the company? And once you find the gap, do you build the role or build the system? If you have been solving every problem through the same lens, this episode is for you.Join us in the free Circle community and hop on the email list to get practical tools, resources, trainings, and updates on what we're working on next.https://blueprintos.com/assets/ Thanks to our sponsorsCoach P ConsultingCoach P found great success as an insurance agent and agency owner, leading a large and stable team of top-performing professionals. Mabel Nunez is the founder & Chief Education Officer at Girl$ on The Money – a stock market investing education company targeted toward individuals who are underrepresented in the investing world. Mabel grew up in the South Bronx as an immigrant from the Dominican Republic, with limited resources & a strong emphasis on education from her father. She learned very little about personal finance or investing while in school until she was in college, where she took an investing analysis class which began her passion for investing & personal finance. Mabel holds both a Bachelor of Science and an MBA in Finance. However, most of what she's learned about investing came from experience. Mabel's mission is to teach what she's learned (and continues to learn) since starting her investing journey. She is passionate about transforming investing beginners into confident, knowledgeable, and profitable investors. In this episode, Mabel shares: How fear kept her from starting to invest, despite graduating as a finance major, reading articles and listening to shows on investing How she has been investing for 16 years with a focus on individual stocks in a self-directed taxable account. She invests in companies with long-term potential, rarely selling stocks and preferring a Warren Buffett-style strategy That investing in ETFs or index funds, such as the S&P 500, can be a simpler alternative to buying individual stocks & advises against buying "cheap stocks" or investing in unproven companies. How she struggled to tell her parents about quitting her 9-5 stable job to pursue her passion & the challenge of balancing personal dreams with family expectations, particularly for immigrant families + much more! On the night of August 1, 1986, 21-year-old Diane Sindall was making her way home across Birkenhead after finishing a shift at the Wellington Hotel. When her van ran out of petrol, Diane continued on foot along Borough Road. She was seen walking with a man shortly before she disappeared, and within hours, her body was discovered nearby. What followed was one of the most horrific murder investigations in Merseyside's history.Diane's murder triggered a huge police investigation and a desperate search for the man responsible. But as detectives worked to identify their suspect, the investigation took a devastating turn. Peter Sullivan, a vulnerable 29-year-old local man, was arrested and eventually convicted of Diane's murder. He would spend 38 years in prison maintaining his innocence, while the forensic evidence that could potentially identify the real killer remained beyond the capabilities of the technology available at the time.In this episode of British Murders with Stuart Blues, I examine the murder of Diane Sindall, the investigation that followed, the conviction of Peter Sullivan and the extraordinary miscarriage of justice that robbed an innocent man of almost four decades of his life. We explore Diane's final movements, the hunt for her killer, the controversial police interrogation and evidence used against Sullivan, and the forensic breakthrough that finally changed everything. Above all, we remember Diane, a 21-year-old woman with a wedding to plan and dreams of opening her own florist shop, while examining the question that has haunted Merseyside for almost 40 years. Who really killed Diane Sindall? If you know something that could lead to the arrest of Diane's killer, please contact Merseyside Police by calling 101, or pass information on anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.Exclusive content:Patreon - Ad Free, Early Access, Exclusive EpisodesFollow the show:British Murders with Stuart BluesDisclaimer:The case discussed in this podcast episode is real and represents the worst day in many people's lives. In this solo episode, Bradley Hamner maps where developing your team actually sits inside a business blueprint. Team is one of the principles in the BlueprintOS operating system, and it carries three playbooks: attract A-players, develop A-players, and retain A-players. This episode covers the middle one and picks up directly from last week's conversation on performance improvement plans.Bradley walks through the three elements of the Develop A-Players Playbook. An ongoing training and development system for people who are years past onboarding. A current state and future state accountability chart that shows each role, who holds it, and the three to five things they own. And a performance management system, which is where PIPs live. He also explains why playbooks operate like gears in a watch rather than silos, and why the accountability chart earns its keep twice, once with the team you have and once with the candidate you are trying to recruit. This conversation moves beyond hiring and into what happens after. What are you doing intentionally to develop someone who has been on the team for five years? Can your current team see what the organization looks like three years from now? And what is your actual process when a good performer drops below quota? If you have built a team and stopped there, this episode is for you.Join us in the free Circle community and hop on the email list to get practical tools, resources, trainings, and updates on what we're working on next.https://blueprintos.com/assets/ Thanks to our sponsorsCoach P ConsultingCoach P found great success as an insurance agent and agency owner, leading a large and stable team of top-performing professionals. Have you ever worried about something that hadn't even happened yet? I know I have.In this episode of The Be Positive Podcast, I explore how easily our minds can create a reality that doesn't actually exist. We make assumptions, imagine worst case scenarios, replay conversations, worry about what other people think, and sometimes experience real emotions over situations that exist only in our imagination.I talk about the difference between what is actually happening and the story we create about what's happening. Just because I think something doesn't make it true. Just because I feel something doesn't mean it's reality.I'll share some simple questions I can use to challenge those thoughts, step back from the story, and focus on what I actually know instead of what I fear might happen.Because I don't have to believe every thought that enters my mind.Sometimes, the most positive thing I can do is stop, take a breath, and ask myself:"Am I responding to reality, or am I responding to the story my mind created?"If you've ever struggled with overthinking, worrying about the future, or letting your thoughts control how you feel, this episode is for you. It's time to stop letting an imaginary reality steal the reality I'm actually living. If you're ready to begin feeling inspired, motivated, and mentally stronger, subscribe and join the movement.

Should Christians want to be losers? In this episode of The Missions Show, hosts Alex Kocman and Scott Dunford talk with pastor and author D. Michael Clary about the ideas behind his book, Loser Theology. Clary challenges the belief that Christians are somehow more faithful when they are suffering, struggling, or losing. Scripture teaches believers how to endure hardship faithfully, but that does not mean suffering should become the goal. For missionaries and ministry leaders, this distinction matters: faithfulness may require sacrifice, but Christians should not seek hardship simply to prove their devotion to Christ. The conversation also explores a healthier view of success in missions. Faithful ministry often means years of patient work with little visible fruit, and results ultimately belong to God. Yet that truth should not lead Christians to passivity. God calls his people to take initiative, use the gifts and opportunities he has given them, proclaim the gospel, love their neighbors, and pursue the Great Commission with courage. Key Topics: Why suffering should not become a measure of Christian faithfulness The danger of romanticizing martyrdom and difficult ministry How missionaries can remain faithful when they see little visible fruit Balancing God's sovereignty with human initiative and responsibility Why ordinary, faithful Christian service has eternal value Taking risks for the Great Commission while trusting God with the results Do you love The Missions Show? In a True Crime Conversations first, Gemma Bath is embarking on an exclusive ride along with the New South Wales Police Force for Operation Amarok. A high-impact, statewide blitz cracking down on high-risk domestic violence offenders. Expecting tactical helmets, battering rams, and dramatic door-busts, the reality on the ground turned out to be far more nuanced. Shadowing plainclothes officers in beanies and jeans, Gemma witnessed four arrests across Sydney's Central Metro region, uncovering a complex web of family violence, repeat breaches of ADVOs, and systemic challenges that extend beyond intimate partner relationships. In this special bonus episode of True Crime Conversations, we go behind the scenes on the frontline of domestic violence policing. Featuring candid interviews with Sergeant Price, Superintendent Danielle Emerton, and NSW Police Minister Yasmin Catley, we examine the scale of Operation Amarok. Welcome to Mysterious Universe Season 36, episode 07! Today we dust off a 1968 banger written by Warren Smith to investigate some strange cases of some strange powers of the mind. From unheeded premonitions that should have been heeded, to a Yogi burying himself in the outfield of a baseball game that is played in full, only to be dug up at the end of the game, just a little parched. Including, but certainly not limited to, a remarkably perceptive mentalist detective who solves an impossible quadruple murder case in Canada. For our Plus+ extension, we conclude the amazing journey through Spontaneous Human Combustion by Jenny Randles & Peter Hough. We take a look at more electrical possibilities including atmospheric effects, individual biology/chemistry, and some final thoughts on what this odd phenomenon could possibly be. We're getting dangerously sincere on today's funny podcast, because former Rizzuto Show intern Courtney Diamond — better known around these parts as Eight Ball — is back in the studio before closing one enormous chapter of her life.Courtney's TaylorMade tribute to Taylor Swift is performing its final show at Delmar Hall, ending a run that grew far beyond where it started. Over the course of TaylorMade, Courtney and the band performed 45 shows across 28 cities, taking the production from its first nervous night at The Wildey Theatre to venues and audiences around the country.Courtney explains that there wasn't one giant dramatic reason. Sometimes you just know when it's time. More importantly, she wanted TaylorMade to end while everyone involved still loved doing it. Apparently “leave while you still enjoy each other” is an option. Somebody should tell every band that has announced a fourth farewell tour. She remembers the pressure surrounding TaylorMade's first performance and the moment she heard the crowd erupt before she even walked onstage. What started with nerves turned into something much bigger, especially for the young Taylor Swift fans who came dressed for the occasion—and the dads sitting off to the side pretending they absolutely weren't getting into it.Naturally, Rizz and Rafe immediately improve Courtney's carefully planned final show by pitching an ending involving Rafe dressed as Travis Kelce carrying her offstage.Things then get suspiciously heartfelt when Rizz asks Courtney how working at The Rizzuto Show affected her life. She credits her time in radio with making her tougher and talks about learning from Moon, Jeff and Lern before revealing something that nearly destroys the entire sarcastic ecosystem of the program: Rizz taught her something genuinely meaningful.Courtney remembers Rizz thanking her for her work at the end of the day when she was an intern and says the experience taught her that no matter how successful you become, you should still treat people well.Everybody quickly makes jokes before Rizz experiences a recognizable human emotion.Thank God.Then we get into the contradiction that makes Courtney's Taylor Swift obsession even better: she's a die-hard '80s hair-metal fan with a Def Leppard tattoo who generally doesn't care for modern pop music.Courtney explains why Swift's songwriting broke through her rock-and-roll defenses, particularly the storytelling and honesty in her lyrics. That inevitably launches the crew into another debate surrounding the business empire attached to Taylor Swift.Variants. Exclusives. Merch drops. Swifties monitoring website changes like NORAD watching the sky.Courtney understands the criticism surrounding the relentless merchandising while also making a fairly important point: nobody is physically forcing you to buy the fifteenth version of an album. Being a Swiftie apparently requires both emotional stamina and a functioning household budget. The funny podcast then dives headfirst into parasocial fandom following the massive attention surrounding Taylor Swift's wedding. Courtney gives her perspective as an actual hardcore fan, including her surprise over aspects of the guest list and the sheer spectacle surrounding the event.Rizz, meanwhile, remains fascinated by fans who drove enormous distances just to stand outside. One mother drove 12 hours from Indianapolis with her daughter to be near the celebration despite having no actual access to the wedding. In extreme heat. After getting the kid out of bed at 2:00 in the morning.Rizz has some thoughts.Courtney admits she understands a little bit of celebrity tourism. Her own honeymoon included visiting Def Leppard-related locations around Sheffield and convincing her extremely patient husband to drive around a village on the off chance they happened to spot bassist Rick Savage. Finally, the conversation returns to the reason Courtney is there—the final TaylorMade show. She explains why knowing the ending was coming gave her time to appreciate the last year, how bittersweet the final performance feels, and why she's both excited and devastated to say goodbye. It's an episode about knowing when to close a chapter, appreciating what you built, fandom getting completely out of control and discovering that underneath all the sarcasm, The Rizzuto Show might actually care about each other.Disgusting.Just the kind of emotional damage you expect from your favorite funny podcast.Follow The Rizzuto Show → linktr.ee/rizzshow for more from your favorite daily comedy show.Connect with The Rizzuto Show Comedy Podcast online → 1057thepoint.com/RizzShow.Hear The Rizz Show daily on the radio at 105.7 The Point | Hubbard Radio in St. Louis, MO.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
