Denisse Oleas-Arancibia has not been in touch with her son and is worried something has happened. As her son reports her missing in Queens, where she lives, the front desk at the SoHo 54 Hotel on Watts Street is being asked to perform a wellness check on one of their guests. Despite a "do not disturb" sign on the door, a hotel employee entered the room and saw the 38-year-old Oleas-Arancibia lying covered with a blanket. She looked like she was resting so the employee quickly backed out of the room and reported to the front desk that the guest was sleeping. Police, following up on the missing person report filed by her son, end up at the SoHo 54 Hotel in Manhattan. It is around 10:30 a.m. when a maid enters the room and realizes that Denisse Oleas-Arancibia is not sleeping, but rather, the blanket has been used to cover the body of a woman who has been beaten to death. Police arrive at room 1190 on the 11th floor of the SoHo 54 Hotel and find a bloody crime scene with evidence left behind by the possible killer. The victim has been beaten and strangled, and there are fragments of plastic embedded in her head and an iron covered in blood next to her. Police catch a break when they find a pair of blood-soaked men's pants with a receipt. Police find surveillance video of the man in the leggings walking through the lobby and immediately begin their hunt. NYPD Chief of Detectives Joseph Kenny says police have video of the woman arriving at the location wearing a distinct pair of leggings and later on a male, leaving the hotel wearing the same leggings. And of course, the male pants covered in blood left behind in the hotel room Investigators say they can track the suspect's movements through the victim's credit card and MetroCard the suspect allegedly stole and is using. As investigators are identifying their suspect in New York, Arizona Police have their hands full with a one-man crime wave. On February 17, in Phoenix, Arizona, an attempted carjacking and stabbing happen. The next morning, February 18 at 8:30 a.m. in Surprise Arizona, a man goes into a McDonald's women's restroom, crawls under a stall door, and threatens a McDonald's employee with a gun. She screams and he stabs her several times before fleeing the facility. Police arrive at the McDonalds in Surprise Arizona but the suspect has fled on foot. Employees get out a good description of the man and in a matter of minutes, someone matching his description steals a car. Surprise, Phoenix, and Scottsdale Police are all alerted and looking for the stolen car when the Scottsdale Police see the vehicle and get a good look at the suspect driving. He is pulled over and police take 26-year-old Raad Almansoori into custody. Django Nudo and Smut Peddler welcome Kitty Lash back for a nostalgia-filled look back at some lesser known films that only ever made it out on VHS. Django challenges his fellow presenters with "VHS was a SHIT format - fight me!" It sees them give a spirited defence of the mini-monolith like home entertainment format. And what's with the @kadivideo IG account of new films released on VHS. Are they real? Is it all fuelled by anemoia - n. 'nostalgia for a time you've never known'?Doctor Yes: The Hyannis Affair (1983) - Film roles dried up Brit Ekland when she hit 40 and so she had to do erotic thrillers, including this one that looks like a day-time soap opera, but with nudity. We play the weird intro, that pretty much gives away the whole plot. (No #SPOILER warnings in the 80s?) Heavenly Bodies (1984) - Dance-offs and aerobics were clearly big in the 80s. This one is more blue collar gritty than flashy Flashdance. But there is no denying the pulsating energy of the synth-heavy score.Hollywood Hot Tubs (1984) - B-movie queen Jewel Shepard DOESN'T get naked in this low budget comedy, but there is Russ Meyer's missus Edy Williams putting her charms on full display. Adult director Chuck Vincent also did non-XXX films in many different genres, three of which are included here. Definitely one for the late night cable channels like USA and Cinemax (aka Skinmax). How to Get Revenge (1984) - Linda Blair clearly didn't have a good agent in the 80s. After a series of women-in-prison films, she did this spoof instructional video on how to get revenge. The suggestions might land you in trouble with the law, so don't take this oddity too seriously. Underground Aces (1981) - Some VHS can't even be sold, and Smut Peddler found this for free in a flea market bin. It has an impressive cast, including Dirk Benedict (The A-Team) Melanie Griffith, Frank Gorshin (the Riddler) and Michael Winslow (Police Academy's sound machine), in what is basically a Car Wash-knock off about parking valets, with very 80s humour. Cleo/Leo (1989) - A surprisingly good gender-switch comedy in which adult star Veronica Hart is the gorgeous female body a chauvinist male pig finds himself trapped in. Director Chuck Vincent would often use actors from the adult entertainment industry in more conventional films, albeit still with lots of nudity. Kitty Lash loved it, except the music which she hated. Bad Blood (1989) - Misery-style horror of mother who thinks her recently returned biological son is a reincarnation of her late husband. Georgina Spelvin (Devil in Miss Jones) and Randy Spears prove that XXX-stars can have acting chops in this Chuck Vincent R-rated horror.

There is no shortage of laughter in this conversation as Rachel and Tracy spend a morning with Raena Rasmussen discussing her drive and energy as she runs multiple businesses, dances in all stages of life, and nurtures a beautiful family. Raena discusses friendship within business partnerships. Leotards are mentioned an inordinate number of times. Rachel and Tracy openly wonder if it's too late for Raena to be placed on the Presidential ballot. *Bonus Material* Raena tells the incredible and made-for-the-big screen story of how she and her husband met and fell in love. Rachel wonders which actor would play Raena's husband, and Tracy begs a screenwriter to write the script for this Romantic Comedy. Warning! Unedited laughter. Breadth and depth as we like to say. We also discuss the under discussed in a new segment, Not Spoken About Enough, created to provide a venue for processing moments not given their due stardom, such as forgotten middle school trends, rampant sexuality of talk show and podcast hosts, and why yoga is so goddamn hard sometimes. This week I discuss the top 5 things I'm most excited about at The American Classic. The American Classic is one of two elite meets that athletes can compete in to qualify for US National Championships. There are a lot of new Hopes gymnasts that will be competing. Some of the kids that competed in Hopes last year have now qualified as Jr. Elites so we will be watching how they do. We are also excited to see some Sr. Elites compete that we haven't seen compete in a while. You can check out The Balance Beam Situation for a great preview (https://balancebeamsituation.com/2018/07/05/american-classic-preview/) and more detail on some of the key athletes to watch for. Here's my top 5. 1. So many new elites - mostly talking about Hopes kids here 2. Tom Forster 3. The podium 4. All the athletes - w/bias towards MG Elite, Paramount Elite and GO 5. The Leotards (of course) Good luck ladies! Have fun, stay focused and don't forget to point your toes :) --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/lifeinaleo/support

Every week we are in and out of the gym training our butts off. We live in our leotards and sometimes we forget how to best care for them. This week I provide some advice on how to best take care of your leotards, especially the fancy competition ones that cost tons of money. These are the things you need to do to make sure the white stays white, the beads stay in place and the fabric remains soft and comfortable for you and all the athletes that you pass the leos down to after you. If you have any questions or want more information on the products we recommend, you can email me at rebecca@leotard.com. Shout outs this week go to @gymnastabrianna and @gymnast.soof. Keep up the great work ladies! You are doing awesome things out there. Hope everyone has a great weekend, keep training hard, cleaning your leotards and don't forget to point your toes ;) --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/lifeinaleo/support

With Bruce Tanner at Ever Grain Brewing Company Central PA boasts a bounty of bangin’ breweries. Harrisburg-bound once again, we stopped by Ever Grain Brewing in Camp Hill, PA to sit down and chat with brewmaster Bruce Tanner. We talked about the story of this soon-to-be one-year-old brewery and what’s in store for the future. Dan presented the news including yet another brewery buyout, and the slowing growth of the craft beer industry. In Happy Fun Time, we played the bizarre brew game There’s Weird in My Beer and Steph talked about the Cumberland Valley Beer Trail (a collab among several cool spots including Ever Grain) in Know Your Beers. And – you’d never guess it, but – we drank some beer!
Desmond Cole - Storylines And Leotards by There are so many stories that need to be told.
Skinny does not equal happy: How to shed shame, boost your confidence, and bring your full self to life She was cast as a hippo in a ballet. She spent years chasing the body ideal that was unhealthy and unsustainable. Elyse shares what she learned on her journey as a dancer and fitness instructor about overcoming body shame, boosting confidence, and bringing her full self to life. "The message that happy equals skinny was so ingrained in me," Elyse said. Her mom has been on every diet, from the grapefruit diet to the carrot diet. Her grandma would look at Elyse when she was super skinny and light up: "You look skinny!" And when she didn't look super skinny, she would day, "You look... healthy." When her grandma got tongue cancer and had only 1/3 of her tongue left and lost a ton of weight, she said: "It's the best thing that happened to me. I'm finally at my ideal weight." Elyse has been a dancer since age 3. Leotards. Type casting for parts in a ballet about animals. She was cast as a hippo. She was not overweight, but she was curvier than other girls. She remembers that moment, looking around the room from inside the hippo costume... She remembers "a deep feeling of shame... Almost like everyone in the room knew something about me that I didn't know." Her story brought up a memory for me. I was in a school gym class... Maybe I was 10, or 11, or 12... Looking around at all these naturally skinny girls in shorts. I was embarrassed to wear shorts. I felt my thighs were too big. I was not overweight, but I wasn't super skinny. I remember sitting there on a gym wooden bench, uncomfortable in shorts, looking down at my inner thighs, lifting them off the bench and pressing them together, so they would appear thinner. When no one was looking, I would pinch and pull on the flesh, wishing it would go away, magically disappear, so I too would have the holy grail of a thigh gap... It was a deep desire, from the bottom of a child's heart. Have you ever felt body shame? Have you ever judged another woman for the way she looked? (Maybe not out loud, but in your mind?) Have you ever judged yourself for not having "the right" kind of body? Have you ever judged yourself for judging other women? Gawd it's been so messed up, growing up a girl in this f---ed up patriarchy. Seriously. So much healing for us to do. Speaking of healing, in this episode, I share about my experience at Mama Gena's (www.mamagenas.com) Mastery weekend in NYC. If you don't know Mama Gena, give yourself the exquisite pleasure of discovering her blog and her books, and The Womanly Arts Experience. It will change your life. It has changed mine. Tune in and hear all about it. Along with Elyse's story of healing her own body shame, getting off the treadmill of that "body ideal" that she could never realistically maintain, and reclaiming her health, her beauty, her vitality... And her tips on how you too can bring your full self to life. Oh, the sweet feeling of shedding the shame and feeling comfortable and joyful in your body! If you haven’t watched Teenwitch before listening, you should! It’s on Netflix! It’s a hair-heavy week on LAPC, which also means it’s been an incredibly slow pop culture news week, so we turn to the 1989 CLASSIC Teenwitch for our entertainment. Our friend Lisa, who is an avid Teenwitch fan and resident expert to discuss what exactly this movie was about, joins us. While we’re at it, we try to dissect and explain to Derek what a cult classic is (we still aren’t entirely sure). Finally Derek shows his patriotism in another round of “Derek Doesn’t Know the Words!” and we try to keep you up to date at the water cooler with The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt (seriously, it’s so good.) Hopefully next time there will be some more pop culture news to talk about, until then, enjoy the show and stay tubular! Don’t forget to rate and subscribe in iTunes!
