In the past in the Enchanted Forest, Cinderella meets Prince Thomas at the ball, but flees when she believes he loves her stepsister Clorinda; Clorinda actually plans to elope with Thomas’ footman, Jacob, but her mother, Lady Tremaine, abducts her to the Land of Untold Stories after forcing Cinderella to betray Clorinda’s location.
This episode talks about the Disney Villains that do not have any special abilities. We talk about Cruella de Ville, Lady Tremaine, Gaston, Queen of Hearts, Shere Khan, Scar, and many more. All facts and soundbites do not belong to me.

Yes that's right the wonderful Jessica also known as @Tremainetok on TikTok and @TremainetokJessica on Instagram joins us for a deep dive into her experience as a Disney park face character where she played, among lots of others, the lady who gives stepmoms a bad name Cinderella's own morose mama, Ms. Lady Tremaine. In this episode of Pints and Princesses, we discuss the beloved “Cinderella” released by Disney in 1950. As we crack the cream ale, it begins with a brief overview of the myriad versions of this story that can be found in cultures around the globe and a short discussion of the context of the film's release. Then we dive into the movie, looking at how “Cinderella” develops and improves some of the successful elements of “Snow White”. As we transition to cider, we discuss our favorite pair of mice, the plight of Bruno, the Fall of Lady Tremaine, and the boisterous King with his Pompous Windbag. As we finish with a seasonal porter, we even speculate about alternative endings. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/pints-and-princesses/message

The show is finally back to discussing a single movie a week, something our hosts are both VERY thankful for. Alex once again goes over the production history surrounding Cinderella, digging into the multiple potential post-package film comeback options Walt considered, the various forms Cinderella itself took, and the lengths Walt took to make sure Cinderella was a success. Our guests dunk on the animals, and Lindsay offers some suggestions for how better to use those parts of the runtime. Harrison touches on how the aesthetics of class serve as indicators of the moral core of Lady Tremaine and her daughters. Alex hates the prince. Most of our guests don’t like him either and find Cinderella a boring lead. Manish, however, argues for a self awareness to Cinderella and she has a lot more going on than people give her credit for. Alex provides a read of Cinderella as a victim of emotional and physical abuse at the hands of Lady Tremaine, Anastasia, and Drizella. Alex and Harrison wrap up with a light discussion of the depictions of monarchy, class, the master/servant dynamics that manifest in the film, and Lady Tremaine’s effectiveness as a villain. *Content Warning for discussions of physical and emotional abuse throughout, with specific discussion begins at 54:40 and running through 1:12:20.* Follow the show on Twitter @DreamDeeperPod, Alex on Twitter @alex_isaak and instagram @alexisaak_, and Harrison on Twitter @Play_Champion. In this episode of In Search of the Crystal Skull, Patricia and Arun discuss about the 2007 direct to video animated Disney movie Cinderella III: A Twist in Time. One year had passed since Cinderella and the Prince had gotten married and Lady Tremaine and her daughters Anastasia and Driscilla are miserable with their current lives. One day, Anastasia had found The Fairy Godmother's magic wand laying around and Lady Tremaine decided to turn back in time one year prior where Anastasia was able to wear the glass slipper and Cinderella has to make the prince fall in love with her all over again. Will Cinderella get her life back together? When the movie came out, fans had praised it as the best direct to video animated Disney film, especially coming out during the last years of DisneyToon Studios' releasing sequels, prequels, and midquels of classic Disney movies before the Planes and Tinker Bell movies and its eventual shutdown. It currently has a 75% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Do Patricia and Arun agree? Is it better than The Lion King 1 1/2? Listen and find out. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/old-school-lane/support
Often the first image that comes to mind when one hears “stepmom” is Cinderella’s evil stepmother, Lady Tremaine, who punishes and abuses Cinderella psychologically, motivated by her jealousy. It’s no wonder why most women don’t relish that title or fear being part of a blended family. What better movie to escape to than this classic by Disney starring Lindsay Lohan and...Lindsay Lohan!?!? Twins who were separated at birth run into each other while attending the same summer camp...and the plot actually gets crazier than that as the movie progresses. Gina and I asked the Twitter Lovelies which villainesses they wanted to hear discussed from both Disney movies and the Fairy Tale canon in general. Altogether we came up with: Mother Gothel, Evil Queen, Ursula, Maleficent, Cruella de Vil, Prince Charming's mother from Shrek, and Lady Tremaine. Rather than discuss each character (or archetype, rather) individually we approached the subject more in terms of tropes or common themes that emerge when one examines the various villainess archetypes within folklore and Disney movies alike. We touched on vanity, vindictiveness, beauty (or the lack thereof), social slights, witches and wise women, and the danger of female power as expressed in both classic and contemporary storytelling, as well as how those tropes translate to today's actual lived experience for women in terms of work and parenting domains within their lives. It's a great conversation, built on the interests and requests of the women who listen, and we hope it will both destroy your Disney nostalgia in the healthiest of ways, while giving you more insight into the complexities and nuances of actual women whose lives are infused with the messages and values inherent in the stories we grow up on. Also, giggling. So. Much. Giggling. Support the show (https://www.patreon.com/twomomsdaydrinking)

Lady Tremaine stands motionless on the stairs, looking towards but not truly seeing her step-daughter. She utters no apology, no excuse for her horrible treatment of her late husband’s only child. She expresses regret only for herself and out of fear of her impending punishment. Her mistreatment of the now-future queen would not go unavenged, but her posture exudes unremorseful, selfish pride as if to say, “I have nothing to confess.”

Our outro music is Theme from Penguins on Parade by Lee Rosevere. Find us on the Internet! Andy is @royalty_valens Tony is @theaterbats Tony's comic is Inspired By True Events You can read Tony's Pokemon fanfiction here.
