Facebook’s end goal has always been to eliminate its competition, whether that's through acquisition or a 'clone and destroy' strategy. Except it’s not working. In fact, recently other tech firms have been showing Facebook how’s it’s done. In our first LIVE episode of Social Minds, Theo and Eve discuss social’s latest headlines and get candid about the state of Facebook. While Facebook says it can’t fact-check political ads — but absolutely can ban popular emojis used in a sexual context — Twitter has banned political ads altogether, Snapchat Discover is giving publishers the ad revenue that Facebook won’t provide, and TikTok hasn’t even flinched at Facebook’s clone efforts. Instead, it’s expanding further still by introducing its own advertising platform. In this, we reveal the new features coming to Twitter in 2020, the surprising year-on-year growth of Snapchat Discover, TikTok’s agency pitch deck and Facebook’s real motive for introducing the world to the new but not that improved FACEBOOK.

Jim Nelson is the editor-in-chief of GQ. “One of the things that was initially a challenge was we would all think of ‘the print side’ and ‘the digital side.’ Now what we all think about is, ‘Okay, stop saying GQ.com and GQ the print edition. It’s just GQ!’ And once you cross that line, you don’t ever want to go back to it. I can’t imagine. The job has changed so much, even in the last three years, that when I look back, I think, ‘God, I was just such a quaint little fucker.’” Thanks to MailChimp and Squarespace for sponsoring this week's episode. As Chief Revenue Officer, Meredith Kopit Levien is a driving force behind The New York Times’s digital transformation and their stunningly timely “The Truth is Hard” campaign. When the news became the news during the 2016 presidential election cycle, Kopit Levien’s challenge was not only to remind people why real journalism matters, but also to reach a new base of paid subscribers hungry for high-quality journalism, effectively changing the news category. What you’ll take away from this podcast, among other things, is why the story you tell is more important than how often you tell it, and why it’s important to adapt to the times—no pun intended—without losing sight of your brand’s core mission. In addition to sharing why and how the new campaign came to fruition, Kopit Levien provides an inside look at building T-brand, their highly successful content creation studio. Although she admits that The Times was late to the content creation game, they entered it with gusto hiring top talent and holding the bar extremely high – so high that they will and have told the client “no” when they don’t think an idea will in their publication. Noting that there are only 10 million people that pay for their news online, Kopit Levien says that the real work, is only beginning as The New York Times continues its transformation from print to all other current and future news channels. For example, The Daily, The Times’ first podcast has dramatically exceeded expectations and is now a coveted slot for their reporters. She also discusses a new channel on Snapchat Discover, yet another indication that her brand ain’t your grandmother’s New York Times!

She previously covered the 2016 presidential race on social media and oversees content strategy for new platforms and products such as Snapchat, Instagram, Facebook Live and 360 degree video.
We had a chance to sit down and chat together on this special 2 part edition. Please read more about her below and be sure to check out her website as well (www.taylorlorenz.com/portfolio/)
I am also a freelance tech reporter for Mic.com where I write about tech and digital culture, social media, memes, and internet stars. Previously, I served as an Executive Producer at People and Entertainment Weekly where I launched INSTANT, a video-first media brand backed by Time Inc. focused on covering internet celebrities. I also wrote articles about YouTube stars, conducted on-camera interviews for People.com, and provided content strategy for emerging platforms such as Wishbone and Snapchat Discover. Over the course of my freelance career I have also consulted for the Daily Mail, Refinery 29, The Atlantic, WordPress, and Maxim. For nearly two years, I also served as Freelance Director of Strategy and Partnerships at Mental Floss, where I built the brand's partnership and syndication network from the ground up. Before I began consulting, I was a tech reporter at Business Insider where I covered early-stage startups and tech culture. In addition to my reporting, I oversaw syndication partnerships on BI's Tech vertical, managed freelancers, and solicited and edited guest posts and opinion pieces. My writing has been republished in Slate, Entrepreneur, and Inc. Before joining Business Insider, I was Global Head of Social Media and Emerging Platforms at the Daily Mail. I defined the news brand's audience development strategy and launched its presence on social media and emerging networks including Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Vine, and Snapchat Discover. I served as the company's first ever Social Media Editor, and built and managed a team of 10 based in London and NYC. You can read more about my role in an interview with POLITICO Media. Prior to joining the Daily Mail, I worked at mcgarrybowen (then both AdAge and Adweek's Agency of the Year), where I oversaw social strategy, editorial calendars, and content strategy for client brands. I worked on sponsored brand campaigns for Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, and Pinterest. In 2012, I helped overhaul Verizon's Facebook strategy and social presence and oversaw social tie ins with the X Factor, NFL, NHL, and IndyCar. I have ghost-tweeted on behalf of Verizon for various sponsored athletes including Alex Ovechkin and IndyCar driver Will Power, and celebrities such as Jessica Alba and Mariah Carey. In 2011, I helped launch FabFitFun.com, a beauty, health, and wellness site by Giuliana Rancic, an E! News host. I covered beauty and health news and helped manage the startup's Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, and Pinterest accounts. (The company later pivoted to a beauty box subscription service.) Before getting into digital media, I handled public relations for luxury brands such as Salvatore Ferragamo, Yves Saint Laurent, Donna Karan, Ann Taylor, and Nanette Lepore. A big part of my job was celebrity dressing, which included things like measuring January Jones' toes and taking Brad Pitt's jacket to be dry cleaned. I have written for the Daily Dot, BuzzFeed, and many other publications about digital trends and things like Twitter punctuation, Snapchat hacks, and the glory of Pitbull's Facebook page. I currently live in Washington, D.C. but New York is my home, and I'm perpetually trying to move to the west coast.

Happy Birthday Snapchat Discover, Donald Trump, Ted Cruz and the Super Bowl In this episode, Vincenzo jumps into what Snapchat Discover has meant to 23 content publishers.  Over the past year, publishers have made it clear that their Snapchat channels have moved from experiments to core offerings. Cosmopolitan’s Snapchat Discover channel generated, on average, 19 million views per month, Poynter reports. Cosmopolitan.com generates 20 million unique visitors per month, according to its website. BuzzFeed CEO Jonah Peretti has said views from Snapchat make up 21 percent of his company’s total traffic. With the 2016 Election creeping up, who is making the most of their ads? Donald Trump's support among blue collar voters doubles when Ted Cruz attacks him in ads, but those same attacks boost Cruz's support among middle-class men. And while Trump's ads don't help him much, they do drive voters away from Cruz. Those are some of the findings in a study by insights platform Qualtrics, which recruited more than 1,200 people to try and determine whether ads from the two leading GOP candidates are working, with the Iowa caucuses just days away. Finally, with the Super Bowl just a couple short weeks away, we dive into which companies have purchased ad spots and which creatives they'll be focusing on.  Andiamo! IT 公论

请访问 itgonglun.com/member。 I Have No Mouth, and I Must Scream 相关链接 李如一设计词典:如何宠爱用户 Outlook for iOS iPhone 上最好的 Gmail 客户端是微软的 Outlook?
