And they asked him a question, saying, [19] “Teacher, Moses wrote for us that if a man’s brother dies and leaves a wife, but leaves no child, the man must take the widow and raise up offspring for his brother. [20] There were seven brothers; the first took a wife, and when he died left no offspring. [21] And the second took her, and died, leaving no offspring. And the third likewise. [22] And the seven left no offspring. Last of all the woman also died. [23] In the resurrection, when they rise again, whose wife will she be? For the seven had her as wife.” [24] Jesus said to them, “Is this not the reason you are wrong, because you know neither the Scriptures nor the power of God? [25] For when they rise from the dead, they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are like angels in heaven. [26] And as for the dead being raised, have you not read in the book of Moses, in the passage about the bush, how God spoke to him, saying, ‘I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob’? [27] He is not God of the dead, but of the living. You are quite wrong.” (ESV) ➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖ FINANCIALLY SUPPORT THE MORNING MINDSET: (not tax-deductible) -- Become a monthly partner: https://mm-gfk-partners.supercast.com/ -- Support a daily episode: https://MorningMindsetMedia.com/daily-sponsor/ -- Give one-time: https://give.cornerstone.cc/careygreen -- Venmo: @CareyNGreen ➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖ FOREIGN LANGUAGE VERSIONS OF THIS PODCAST: SPANISH version: https://MorningMindsetMedia.com/Spanish HINDI version: https://MorningMindsetMedia.com/Hindi CHINESE version: https://MorningMindsetMedia.com/Chinese ➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖ CONTACT: Carey@careygreen.com ➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖ THEME MUSIC: “King’s Trailer” – Creative Commons 0 | Provided by https://freepd.com/ ***All NON-ENGLISH versions of the Morning Mindset are translated using A.I.

For decades, residents of the small city of Newburgh, New York, were unknowingly drinking water contaminated with toxic PFAS—also known as forever chemicals. The source turned out to be firefighting foam used on a nearby air base that had seeped into streams and creeks, and ultimately the city's main drinking water reservoir. Now, Newburgh is one of 10 sites that are part of a CDC-led study investigating the health effects of PFAS exposure. Early data out of Newburgh links PFAS with high cholesterol, high blood pressure, and heart disease. Host Flora Lichtman discusses the research with environmental epidemiologist Erin Bell and reporter Shantal Riley.Read our full story about what PFAS contamination has meant for Newburgh in English and in Spanish.Guests: Shantal Riley is an award-winning journalist and science writer, focused on environmental health.Dr. Erin Bell is an environmental epidemiologist at the University at Albany in New York.Transcripts for each episode are available within 1-3 days at sciencefriday.com. When a burning vessel appears through the North Atlantic fog, Oberlin and Abby board the sinking Spanish freighter, the Veloscora, to find bullet holes, mysterious equipment, and signs of violence that suggest something far more sinister than a maritime accident. Among the wreckage, they discover a single survivor—Samantha Kell—barely conscious and fiercely guarding a bloody knife . As the rescued stranger awakens aboard the Invenios, her erratic behavior and cryptic warnings raise more questions than answers. She refuses to explain the radioactive readings, avoids details about her mission, and displays both military precision and paranoid suspicion. Captain Tulley's interrogation reveals glimpses of a covert operation gone catastrophically wrong, with references to submersibles, secret organizations, and someone still trapped at impossible depths. Thirty-three years after the fall of Napoleon Bonaparte’s Empire, his nephew (known as Napoleon III) became the first president of France before becoming emperor himself. Although he was a capable ruler and reformer, Napoleon III’s failed military campaigns, especially France’s loss to Germany in the Franco-Prussian War, led to his defeat, capture, and the fall of the Second French Empire and permanent eclipse of Germany in military power. Many historians have blamed Napoleon III’s wife for his failings. Eugénie de Montijo was a Spanish noblewoman who became the last French empress. She was a cultural tastemaker and activist for feminist equality, but many blame her blunders when she held power as regent for France’s worst failures and reckless rush into a ruinous war with Germany. But the story of her life has rarely been told in full. It was a career filled with glamour, achievement, and tragedy, as well as contributions that transformed the nation she ruled unlike any other royal noblewoman in Europe. She spearheaded movements in health and education to help transform France into a modern country. She pushed Parisian architecture toward steel and glass construction of buildings as well as for inclusion of green spaces throughout the city, many of which exist today. Most of all, she crafted much of the idea of what it means to be French in the modern era. Today’s guests are Petie Kladstrup and Evelyne Resnick, authors of “The Last Empress of France: The Rebellious Life of Eugénie de Montijo.”See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Summary: In this episode, Dr. Michael Easley interviews Dr. S Jonathan Murphy—professor at Dallas Theological Seminary and new lead pastor at Stonebriar Community Church—about his remarkable upbringing and ministry journey. Dr. Murphy shares how he grew up immersed in a culturally Spanish world while rooted in a Northern Irish evangelical home. His early faith was shaped by the tight-knit church his father pastored and the missionary stories he heard as a child. By age seven, Jonathan had come to a personal faith in Christ, a decision that would shape his life's calling. After studying in Scotland, Dr. Murphy was unexpectedly led to Dallas Theological Seminary, where mentors like Dr. Howard Hendricks and Dr. Dwight Pentecost guided him toward pastoral ministry and eventually into academic training. He served faithfully as a local pastor in Northern Ireland before God called him back to Dallas to teach and eventually join the team at Stonebriar. Takeaways: Dr. S Jonathan Murphy grew up in a missionary household in Spain, learning faith through everyday family and church life. He transitioned from pastoring in Belfast to teaching and leading at Dallas Seminary, following God's unexpected direction. Chuck Swindoll personally mentored Dr. Murphy, preparing him over years to step into leadership at Stonebriar Community Church. Dr. Murphy believes discipleship should flow naturally from genuine community—not be limited to structured programs. Fidelity in ministry matters more than church size or reputation—quiet, steady faithfulness is the real success. The church should function as a spiritual family where people truly belong, support one another, and grow together. In 2017, Spanish engineer Pablo Bergasa began an unusual hobby: to design a new incubator for use in African hospitals. Eight years on, he has sent 200 of his machines around the world, and he estimates they have saved the lives of 5,000 babies. Pablo's incubator costs a small proportion of the price of a regular machine and can run on a battery and a bottle of water.

Let This Mystery Change You: The Self-Giving of Christ and the Call of the Priest This Homily, delivered on the anniversary of Father Bernard's ordination, . . . . . . reflects on the deep theological and spiritual meaning of the priesthood, particularly through the lens of the Passion narrative in the Gospel of John. The Homily highlights the moment at the cross where Jesus entrusts Mary to the beloved disciple and vice versa, explaining this as the beginning of Mary's unique relationship with the priesthood. Mary's Unique Relationship with the Priesthood The Homily draws a distinction between the celebration of priesthood on Holy Thursday (when Jesus instituted the Eucharist and shared his priesthood with the apostles) and Good Friday, which commemorates Christ's own high priesthood as He offers Himself in sacrifice for the salvation of the world. The Homily also explains the priest acts in the person of Christ at the altar, not merely recalling the Last Supper but entering into Christ's eternal sacrifice. A key point is that priests must be transformed by the mystery they celebrate, resting their hearts against Christ's own, just as John did. The homily draws special attention to the mystical intimacy between Mary and the priest, emphasizing how a priest must not just welcome Mary into his home but allow himself to be welcomed into hers. Finally, the homily praises Father Bernard as one who embodies this deep, Marian-shaped priesthood . . . one who listens to the heart of Christ and allows Mary to guide and shape his vocation. Listen to: Let This Mystery Change You: The Self-Giving of Christ and the Call of the Priest ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Christ of St. John of The Cross: Spanish Painter: Salvador Dalí: 1951 The painting is known as the Christ of Saint John of the Cross, because its design is based on a drawing by the 16th-century Spanish friar John of the Cross. In a special announcement, Leo reveals the new, hyper-focused mission for the 7 Figures Club that will change the show forever. To launch this new chapter, he shares a surprisingly personal story about failure, fluency, and finance. What could learning Portuguese in the streets of Brazil, or Spanish in Chile, possibly have to do with closing million-dollar funding deals? The answer is not what you think, and it contains the blueprint for your success. Leo explains why the skills he learned as a struggling "gringo" in South America are the same ones that separate average loan brokers from 7-figure funding CEOs. Are you caught in "analysis paralysis," studying endlessly but afraid to take the next step? This episode exposes a dangerous plateau where most entrepreneurs get stuck, believing they're "good enough" while their true potential withers. Leo reveals the one "maniacal obsession" required to break free, but it's a commitment most aren't willing to make. Listen now to discover why the most effective business-building strategy feels a lot like looking like a fool, and how the moments you feel most lost might be the clearest sign that you're finally on the right track. Join hosts Clay Edwards, Shaun Yurtkuran, and Lindsey Beckham for another raw, unfiltered dive into the issues shaping America on Uncensored Live. Streaming live every Sunday through Thursday at 8 PM on our social media channels (Facebook, X, YouTube, and Rumble @SaveJXN or Clay Edwards Show), this nightly show delivers honest conversations without the spin. In Episode 7—our second Monday in a row—we're feeling energized and ready to tackle the tough topics, from border policies to historical close calls and beyond. If you missed our underwhelming performance last night (thanks to a killer headache), we're redeeming ourselves tonight! We kick off with some behind-the-scenes fun: tech glitches in the studio (why can Lindsey hear Clay loud and clear but not Shaun?), a pitch for a new show name—"Unfiltered" instead of "Uncensored" for a fresh twist—and a shoutout to Clay's merch site where you can snag the OG FAFO shirt for just $15 in 2XL (gray or black available now!). The heart of the episode is a fiery recap of Shaun and Lindsey's daytime show Crossing the Aisle on WYAB (12-1 PM weekdays), where sparks flew over immigration polling numbers showing only 38% of Americans supporting the current administration's mass immigration policies. We debate Shaun's analogy of the long-time Home Depot worker who's been in the U.S. for 20 years—criminal or not? Clay argues that illegal entry makes one a criminal by definition, while Shaun pushes for nuance, prioritizing dangerous offenders first as per Trump's campaign promises. Lindsey weighs in on pathways to citizenship for non-violent contributors who've paid taxes and built lives here. We explore employer accountability: should businesses face penalties for knowingly hiring undocumented workers via fake IDs or third-party agencies? Google dives reveal civil fines up to $3,000 per employee and potential jail time, plus real-world examples like ICE raids on Mississippi chicken plants. The conversation evolves into cultural insights—praising Hispanic work ethic and community integration while contrasting it with challenges from other groups like Haitians in Miami or Muslims in England, as discussed on Patrick Bet-David's podcast. We reflect on the one-year anniversary of the Trump assassination attempt in Butler, PA, replaying the chilling audio and appreciating Trump's defiant "fight, fight, fight" moment. What if he'd been killed? We avoided civil unrest, conspiracy-fueled wars among Americans, and a chaotic GOP nomination floor fight (Nikki Haley as frontrunner?). Plus, thoughts on potential deepfakes, Biden conspiracies, and how history might remember this iconic event with statues someday. Diving deeper, we touch on birth rates (Hispanics lead, potentially shifting demographics post-Roe), language assimilation (learn Spanish to bridge gaps while insisting on English?), and why American Christians are drilled to defend Israel unquestioningly—questioning if it's the same biblical Israel amid modern geopolitics and accusations of genocide in Gaza. We call out biases: criticizing Israel's government isn't antisemitism, just as critiquing Jackson, MS, isn't racism. Local flavor includes a Hattiesburg attorney arrested for allegedly embezzling $450K from a widow's settlement—his second rodeo after voter fraud charges. We discuss bar association oversight and how some start corrupt young. Entertainment roundup: Highly recommend Sinners (vampires in 1920s Clarksdale juke joints—think Crossroads meets Dusk Till Dawn); skip the new Gladiator. Excitement for F1 with Brad Pitt, but mixed on Superman and Fantastic Four. Super chats from fans like Peekaboo, Angela (Mic Magazine), AB, Matthew Gibson, and more—thanks for the support! My new Youtube channel: Spanish with Dennishttps://www.youtube.com/channel/UCQVuRUMQGwtzBIp1YAImQFQMy new Discord server and chat and you can already join and write to me there:https://discord.gg/HWGrnmTmyCMy new Telegram channel and you can already join and write to me or comment there:https://t.me/SpanishwithDennisJoin my Patreon:https://www.patreon.com/spanishwithdennisSupport me by joining my podcasts supporter club on Spreaker:https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/slow-spanish-language--5613080/supportDonate with Boosty:https://boosty.to/spanishwithdennis/donateDonate with Donation Alerts:https://www.donationalerts.com/r/dennisespinosaDonate with Crypto currency:Bitcoin (BTC)1DioiGPAQ6yYbEgcxEFRxWm5hZJcfLG9V6USDT (ERC20)0xeb8f678c0b8d37b639579662bf653be762e60855USDT (TRC20)TXoQwsaiTGBpWVkyeigApLT8xC82rQwRCNEthereum (ETH)0xeb8f678c0b8d37b639579662bf653be762e60855If you have any other suggestions or recommendations on what other platform you can support me and my podcasts, please let me know. Today's topic is all things matrescence as we look at the book, Mothershift: Reclaiming Motherhood as a Rite of Passage. We will discuss the process of matrescence and the developmental steps that many people do not understand. Join us to learn more! Jessie Harrold is a coach and doula who has been supporting women through radical life transformations and other rites of passage for over 15 years. She works one-on-one with women and mothers to facilitate mentorship programs, women's circles, rituals, retreats, and nature-based experiences. Jessie is the author of Mothershift: Reclaiming Motherhood as a Rite of Passage and Project Body Love: my quest to love my body and the surprising truth I found instead. She also hosts The Becoming Podcast. Jessie lives on the east coast of Canada, where she raises her two children, writes, and tends the land. Show Highlights: What is matrescence? Comparisons between matrescence and adolescence (both transitions are processes that take time) Jessie's model of matrescence: The Four Elements of Radical Transformation: Earth – Orient yourself to what's true, and name the change. Water – (Think tears.) Grief over the self you were before this transformation is a normal part of transitioning to motherhood. Air – The liminal space of the “in-between” when you haven't fully integrated into the identity of being a mother. Fire – An igniting of the ember within you as you integrate into the identity of motherhood. This motherhood transition is an opportunity to let go of other things that aren't serving us well. Systemic factors that force women into “losing themselves in motherhood” The challenges we face in motherhood are part of the development into matrescence, but we still need the tools and resources to navigate them. “The Mother Powers”- the things that help us get through matrescence Matrescence is a beautiful process. Ralph Brewer is the founder of Help For Men and creator of Dad Starting Over, two influential platforms that support men navigating divorce, sexless marriages, and modern relationship struggles. He has authored four books—including his best selling, The Dead Bedroom Fix—and is known for combining straight talk with practical guidance to help men rebuild confidence, reclaim masculinity, and lead from a place of clarity and purpose. Through coaching, online courses, and the global HFM Brotherhood community, Ralph equips men to stop waiting for validation and start taking ownership. His work has been featured in Forbes, NewsNation, and New York Magazine, and his approach is trusted by thousands of men around the world. He speaks directly to men who've “done everything right” yet feel lost—and gives them the tools to find their footing again. Ralph Brewer Vroom Vroom Veer Summary Global Reach and Cultural Differences Ralph discussed a special offer for Jeffery's followers at helpformen.com, including a freebie and discounts on coaching and group membership. He explained the organization's global reach, with the US as the primary market and Australia as the second-largest. They briefly touched on cultural differences in men's willingness to seek help, with Ralph noting that Spanish and Australian men tend to be more open compared to British and German men. Baldness Experiences and Embraces Ralph and Jeffery discussed their experiences with baldness and hair loss. Ralph shared a story about his daughter mistaking an egg for him at a restaurant. They exchanged anecdotes about their hair loss experiences and how they've embraced being bald. Jeffery mentioned his military deployment and how he learned to cut his own hair during that time. They both agreed that being bald is easier and more practical than having hair. Rural Indiana Childhood Experiences Ralph shared his childhood experiences growing up in rural Indiana, where he spent most of his time after moving from Spain at age three. His mother, who was learning English and driving, and his American military father, who was deployed during the Iraq War, made him stand out in his small town. Ralph discussed his experiences with racism and prejudice, particularly directed at his mother due to her Spanish and Middle Eastern appearance. He also mentioned his fondness for Italy, its culture, and lifestyle, contrasting it with the work-hard-play-hard attitude of the United States. Bilingual Childhood and Family Roots Ralph shared his personal background, discussing his childhood experiences growing up in a bilingual household where Spanish was spoken secretly by his parents. He described his father's difficult family situation and how his father's best friend's family became like an extended family to him, providing stability and support. Ralph also explained his mother's challenging upbringing in post-civil war Spain under Franco's regime, which left her to care for seven children after her father's disappearance. Discovering Infidelity and Divorce Journey Ralph shared his personal story of discovering his ex-wife's extramarital affair while on vacation, which led to a difficult divorce process. He described how he initially confronted her about suspicious Facebook messages, only to be met with denial and tears during their single counseling session. Despite his ex-wife's attempts to convince the counselor that nothing was happening, Ralph's suspicions persisted, leading him to conduct his own investigation using technology. The experience left him more confused than anything, but ultimately led to the realization that he needed to pursue a divorce. Divorce and Co-Parenting Challenges Ralph shared his experience of a sudden divorce after his wife had a three-month affair, which he described as the final straw in a series of family-related issues. He emphasized that while the affair was the catalyst,
ICE arrests in Western PA have more than doubled since this time last year, and most of the people being detained have never been charged with or convicted of a crime. From a high-profile raid at Tepache Mexican Kitchen & Bar to arrests outside of courtrooms, ICE enforcement is causing fear and confusion in Pittsburgh's immigrant communities. Meanwhile, several local law enforcement agencies are signing up to partner with ICE, which is slated to receive an additional $75 billion under President Trump's "big, beautiful bill." With all of this underway, we're bringing back our conversation with Vanessa Stine, senior staff attorney for the ACLU of Pennsylvania. She joins us to explain what happens during an ICE stop or raid, what rights immigrants have regardless of their legal status, and how bystanders can help during an ICE encounter.
