In todays Sports Podcast it's completely about the NBA. We talk about Ben Simmons, Doc Rivers, and the 76ers. Devin Booker got a Triple Double We discuss if they should and can trade Ben and release Doc Rivers. Can the 76ers trade Ben Simmons with his contract. Ben Simmons was terrible in the NBA Conference Semi-Finals against the Atlanta Hawks as his Philidelphia 76ers lose to them in Game 7. Ben Simmons did well in most areas of the floor except scoring where it seemed they were going 4 on 5 on offense. Ben Simmons even passed up an open shot under the goal instead of dunking. Ben Simmons wasn't the only problem with the Philidelphia 76ers. Doc Rivers again lacked in game adjustsments! Doc kept George Hill on Gallinari allowing Galli to average 16 pts a game! He also Kept Seth Curry on Hubert which both of these players destroyed the 76ers! Embiid played well but he had too many turnovers and it looked like Doc didn't adjust from the Turnovers to bad fouling to All Bench Lineups. His Former Team made it to the conference finals under Tyron Lue. Unlike Doc Rivers Ty Lue made adjustments and put his team in the best sitaution to make the NBA Western Conference Finals. The Clippers lost game 1 with an amazing Triple Double by Devin Booker. Devin Booker took up the playmaking role for a lot of the game due to Chris Paul being out getting 11 assist and setting up some amazing plays. When they got down Booker took over his usual role scoring a lot of his points in the 2nd half of the NBA Western Conference Finals. The Milwaukee Bucks overcame a big game from Kevin Durant to go to the conference Finals. Creo que antes habrá que esperar a que la participación en PlayOffs de sus Clippers termine. Quién sabe, si los Nuggets terminan cargándose a los Clippers tal vez quede una vacante también en Los Ángeles... Con la pandemia provocada por el COVID-19, la NBA se vio obligada a realizar un experimento en Orlando en el que todos los equipos participantes de esta burbuja, permanecerían en el mismo lugar sin tener que viajar durante el tiempo que durase la competición. El cargado calendario, con 4 o 5 partidos por semana, preocupó especialmente a los jugadores y a las front-office de las franquicias, sonaba peligroso para el tema de las lesiones, jugar tantos partidos en tan poco días y encima hacerlo después de estar tanto tiempo parados, sin embargo, los General Managers de la NBA parece que están empezando a notar beneficios en este formato: "Nuestros chicos se sienten mejor", ha dicho un GM anónimo de la Conferencia Oeste a ESPN. Y en el segundo partido de la noche, Clippers ganó de 43 puntos a Dallas, metiendo un total de 154 puntos sin prórroga. Además, con los 92 puntos que ha metido en los dos últimos partidos, se ha convertido en el jugador de Nuggets con más puntos anotados en dos partidos seguidos, superando un record que databa del año 2010 y pertenecía a un histórico de la plantilla, Carmelo Anthony. ### **Noticias** Nueva polémica esta noche en el duelo entre Clippers y Mavericks. Hay una jugada donde aparentemente... Marcus Morris pisa el talón o el tobillo de Luka Doncic. La verdad es que da un paso algo más largo de la cuenta y bueno... yo dejo las imágenes en mi twitter, @JaviMendozaNBA y que cada uno juzgue lo que quiera. En cualquier caso, Morris ha puesto un par de tweets para zanjar la polémica sin disculparse: "El baloncesto nunca ha sido tan serio como para intentar herir a alguien. No me disculpo por una mierda porque sé lo que pongo en este juego día tras día. Fue un error, dilia con ello. Competir es la razón por la que juego." La NBA y la Asociación de jugadores, han acordado retrasar el plazo de 60 días que preserva el derecho de cada una de las partes a rescindir el Convenio Colectivo tras la pandemia de COVID-19. El nuevo plazo de negociación sobre las modificaciones del convenio para la temporada 2020/21 es el 15 de octubre. Con este acuerdo se garantiza una finalización de estos playoffs de la NBA y se consigue una oportunidad para que la liga y el sindicato tomen decisiones menos precipitadas y más comprensibles con la situación económica actual, atendiendo a los problemas de ingresos de la liga para la temporada 2020/21, así como para este cierre de temporada, y quien sabe si también los años venideros. La directora ejecutiva de la NBPA, Michele Roberts, hizo las siguientes declaraciones a ESPN este martes: "Si todo el mundo sigue siendo teniendo buenas intenciones con respecto a la forma en la que tratamos los efectos económicos de este virus, sólo haremos los ajustes apropiados, y no habrá necesidad de terminar con el actual convenio en absoluto." La siguiente noticia está bastante relacionado con que haya convenio, porque es necesario para que se juegue, la NBA parece que empieza a dar por hecho que el 1 de diciembre esa una fecha imposible para comenzar la liga, y el nuevo calendario se estaría planteando dar comienzo a la competición entre finales de diciembre y principios de enero. Conociendo a la liga... me sorprendería mucho que dejen de jugar el día de Navidad, por lo que si tuviera que apostar, lo haría más bien por finales de diciembre, o incluso el mismo día de Navidad, por dar una fecha más concreta, antes que ver un comienzo de liga en enero. Y vamos a cerrar el podcast de hoy, con una recopilación de titulares relacionados con rumores NBA publicados esta semana: Los Sixers habrían ofrecido el máximo salarial a Jimmy Butler el pasado verano, descartando la continuidad de Tobias Harris, siempre que Jimmy Butler hubiese aceptado no reunirse con ningún otro equipo de la liga. Hoy es miércoles, 26 de agosto de 2020, mi nombre es Javier Mendoza y esto que estás escuchando es el programa número 38 de Café y NBA. ### **Resultados** Victoria de Denver contra Utah, en un partido en el que por momentos rozó la eliminación, hasta que apareció de nuevo un esteler Jamal Murray con 42 puntos 8 rebotes 8 asistencias para solucionar el partido. Y en el segundo partido de la noche, Clippers ganó de 43 puntos a Dallas, metiendo un total de 154 puntos sin prórroga. Paul George metió 35 puntos en 25 minutos y Kawhi Leonard 32 puntos en 29 minutos. ### Estadísticas Y empezamos las estadísticas precisamente con lo que os acabo de contar de Paul George. Nadie en toda la historia de los PlayOffs NBA había conseguido 35 puntos jugando 25 o menos minutos. Y también hay que hablar de Jamal Murray claro, porque está haciendo historia en los Nuggets, ayer consiguió enlazar dos partidos consecutivos metiendo 40 o más puntos, y se convierte en el primer jugador de la historia que consigue eso en unos playoffs sin perder ningún balón en ninguno de los dos partidos. Además, con los 92 puntos que ha metido en los dos últimos partidos, se ha convertido en el jugador de Nuggets con más puntos anotados en dos partidos seguidos, superando un record que databa del año 2010 y pertenecía a un histórico de la plantilla, Carmelo Anthony. ### **Noticias** Nueva polémica esta noche en el duelo entre Clippers y Mavericks. Hay una jugada donde aparentemente... Marcus Morris pisa el talón o el tobillo de Luka Doncic. La verdad es que da un paso algo más largo de la cuenta y bueno... yo dejo las imágenes en mi twitter, @JaviMendozaNBA y que cada uno juzgue lo que quiera. En cualquier caso, Morris ha puesto un par de tweets para zanjar la polémica sin disculparse: "El baloncesto nunca ha sido tan serio como para intentar herir a alguien. No me disculpo por una mierda porque sé lo que pongo en este juego día tras día. Fue un error, dilia con ello. Competir es la razón por la que juego." La NBA y la Asociación de jugadores, han acordado retrasar el plazo de 60 días que preserva el derecho de cada una de las partes a rescindir el Convenio Colectivo tras la pandemia de COVID-19. El nuevo plazo de negociación sobre las modificaciones del convenio para la temporada 2020/21 es el 15 de octubre. Con este acuerdo se garantiza una finalización de estos playoffs de la NBA y se consigue una oportunidad para que la liga y el sindicato tomen decisiones menos precipitadas y más comprensibles con la situación económica actual, atendiendo a los problemas de ingresos de la liga para la temporada 2020/21, así como para este cierre de temporada, y quien sabe si también los años venideros. La directora ejecutiva de la NBPA, Michele Roberts, hizo las siguientes declaraciones a ESPN este martes: "Si todo el mundo sigue siendo teniendo buenas intenciones con respecto a la forma en la que tratamos los efectos económicos de este virus, sólo haremos los ajustes apropiados, y no habrá necesidad de terminar con el actual convenio en absoluto." La siguiente noticia está bastante relacionado con que haya convenio, porque es necesario para que se juegue, la NBA parece que empieza a dar por hecho que el 1 de diciembre esa una fecha imposible para comenzar la liga, y el nuevo calendario se estaría planteando dar comienzo a la competición entre finales de diciembre y principios de enero. Conociendo a la liga... me sorprendería mucho que dejen de jugar el día de Navidad, por lo que si tuviera que apostar, lo haría más bien por finales de diciembre, o incluso el mismo día de Navidad, por dar una fecha más concreta, antes que ver un comienzo de liga en enero. Y vamos a cerrar el podcast de hoy, con una recopilación de titulares relacionados con rumores NBA publicados esta semana: Los Sixers habrían ofrecido el máximo salarial a Jimmy Butler el pasado verano, descartando la continuidad de Tobias Harris, siempre que Jimmy Butler hubiese aceptado no reunirse con ningún otro equipo de la liga. Sin embargo, lo que sucedió fue casi todo lo contrario. Jimmy Butler no firmó el contrato con Sixers hasta tener un segundo contrato firmado que asegurase su traspaso a los Miami Heat de forma inmediata. La temporada de Fred VanVleet no ha pasado desapercibida para nadie, y si bien esperan que se convierta en parte de ese futuro de los Raptors junto a Pascal Siakam, otras franquicias de la NBA van a estar muy atento a las peticiones de Fred VanVleet este verano. Al parecer, son ya varias las franquicias que estarían dispuestas a darle casi cualquier cosa que pida: Phoenix Suns, Detroit Pistons y New York Knicks. Bobby Marks, periodista de ESPN, dijo en el pasado mes de diciembre que VanVleet buscaría una renovación de 25 o 30 millones. Y os pregunto yo... ¿qué opináis sobre esa cantidad? Dejármelo en los comentarios de iVoox. Una vez finalizada la temporada de los Nets, han empezado ya los rumores sobre el posible entrenador de la próxima temporada. Y si bien Jacque Vaughn ha hecho un gran trabajo en la burbuja y la front-office ha pensado en darle una oportunidad, parece que Kyrie Irving y Kevin Durant no estarían interesados, y querrían contar un con entrenador de perfil más alto. Entre los candidatos ya sabéis que suena Tyron Lue y ha surgido ahora un rumor muy fuerte relacionado con una supuesta petición de Kevin Durant para que el entrenador de la próxima temporada sea... Gregg Popovich.
