This is the hundred and eighteenth episode of the GameDev.tv Community Podcast. Nick is a game designer specializing in systems and level design. While he has been playing games since 1994, it was only within the past 5 years that Nick began diving into Game Design. It all started with a custom D&D game. Nick had never been a Dungeon Master before, but quickly took an interest in “finding the fun” for his players. Since then, his search for more information has not stopped! While Nick enjoys spending time with spreadsheets and maps, he regularly experiments with the Unreal Engine, and looks for new kinds of games to experience. This podcast covers New Girl Season 1, Episode 21, Kids, which originally aired on April 17, 2012 and was directed by Tristram Shapeero and written by Donick Cary and Lesley Wake. Here’s a quick recap of the episode:In this episode, Cece realizes she might be pregnant and both she and Schmidt are freaking out while Jess tries to babysit Russell’s daughter Sarah who falls in “love” with Nick. Meanwhile, Winston is trying to get his boss to his TV interview. We discuss Pop Culture References such as:Gossip Girl - In this episode Sarah compares Jess’s life to a poorer version of the TV and book series Gossip Girl.Bridge to Terabithia - Jess compares Nick making Sarah cry to the book Bridge to Terabithia which has a sad storyline and often causes children to cry.Additional Pop Culture References such as:Russian Nesting Doll - Schmidt talks about wanting to be sure not to impregnate the baby that Cece might be carrying when they have sex and create a “Russian Nesting Doll Situation”. Russian dolls (also known as Matryoshka dolls) are a set of wooden dolls of decreasing size placed one inside another. They are also associated with family and fertility.Michael Strahan - Winston is supposed to be driving Joe to an interview with Michael Strahan. While his talk show is not real, Michael Strahan is an American TV personality, former football player, and journalist who has been a co-host on ABC’s Good Morning America since 2014.Berlusconi - Jess calls Nick Berlusconi while telling him not to bring college girls home. Silvio Berlusconi was the Italian Prime Minister during four governments and a media tycoon. He had many legal troubles including one for soliciting minors for sex. While he was found guilty, his conviction has since been overturned. While Nick is defending how mature Chloe is, he mentions that she knows the following artists: Banksy - Banksy is an England-based street artist, political activist, and film director, active since the 1990s. He’s known for his satirical street art that combines dark humor with graffiti executed in a distinctive stenciling technique.“The guy who did the Obama poster” (Shepard Fairey) - Frank Shepard Fairey is an American contemporary street artist, graphic designer, activist, illustrator, and founder of OBEY Clothing. He became widely known during the 2008 U.S. presidential election for his Barack Obama "Hope" poster. “Chalk Outline Guy” (Keith Haring) - Keith Allen Haring was a 1980s American pop art and graffiti-like artist. Haring's work grew to popularity from his spontaneous drawings in New York City subways—chalk outlines of figures, dogs, and other stylized images on blank black advertising-space backgrounds.Drea de Matteo - Schmidt mentioned that Drea de Matteo was scheduled to appear as a guest at the Italy on Ice event. Drea de Matteo is an American actress of Italian descent from Queens, New York known for shows like The Sopranos and Sons of Anarchy. The Golden Girls - Jess is explaining to Sarah that she thought Gossip Girl was similar to the show The Golden Girls, where Jess thought she was Betty White and Schmidt was Rue McClanahan; both were actresses on the show. The Golden Girls is an American television sitcom that originally aired on NBC from 1985 to 1992, with a total of 180 half-hour episodes, spanning seven seasons. The show stars Beatrice Arthur, Betty White, Rue McClanahan, and Estelle Getty as four older women who share friendship and a home in Miami, Florida.Super Bowl - Napoli mentions that Michael Strahan won the Super Bowl. The Super Bowl is the annual championship game of the National Football League (NFL). Since 2004, the game has been played on the first Sunday in February. Nick and Schmidt were talking about Chloe’s age and mentioned references she wouldn’t know: Netscape - Schmidt mentions that Chloe doesn’t even know what Netscape is. Netscape Communications Corporation was an independent American computer services company known for its web browser from the early 1990s. Netscape is also known for creating the JavaScript programming language and developing SSL. In 1999, the company was acquired by AOL, but before that Netscape released the source code for its browser and created the Mozilla Organization to coordinate future development of its product.Ice Cube - Schmidt is referring to how Chloe thinks of Ice Cube as mainly an actor since she’s so young. While Ice Cube started acting in 1991, he started his musical career in 1986 as a rapper and was part of the rap group N.W.A.Indian In the Cupboard - Jess says that she might as well call Schmidt Indian in the Cupboard and stops herself from continuing this reference. Indian in the Cupboard is both a book and a movie where a kid finds a magic cupboard that brings his toys to life.We also cover the “Schmidtism” where Schmidt calls Nick to ask him out and gave an honorary Schmidtism to Schmidt’s pronunciation of “poppacorno.” For “Not in 2020” we discuss how Schmidt talks about Cece finally becoming a girl and his continued fetishazation of Cece’s skin color. We also give a brief look into Chloe Bridges and Annalise Basso, the Guest Stars we feature in this episode. This episode got a 7.5/10 Rating from Kritika whose favorite character was Schmidt and Kelly rated this episode an 8.5/10 and her favorite character was Sarah! Thanks for listening and stay tuned for Episode 22!Music: "Hotshot” by scottholmesmusic.comFollow us on Twitter, Instagram or email us at whosthatgirlpod@gmail.com!Website: https://smallscreenchatter.com/
Are you looking for advice on how to do what you love and be successful at it? If so, then today’s episode is for you! Today I’m joined by Nick Onken, a world renowned photographer and creative entrepreneur who has worked across continents and with numerous celebrities such as Justin Bieber, Cody Simpson, and Usher, just to name a few. Nick shares with us insights into his career as a photographer and the importance of being persistent when it comes to combining art with business and turning a passion into profit. Nick begins our discussion by explaining how his career began in graphic design but changed once he discovered his passion for photography. Realizing that photography was where he wanted to focus his career, he then spent years and thousands of hours practicing and honing his craft, insisting that for anyone looking to build a career in the arts, you have to be willing to keep grinding and refining your work in order to build a solid portfolio. While Nick’s favorite part of his career is the freedom it gives him to be his own boss, he talks about the uncertainties that can come from running your own business, citing his own highs and lows as examples and sharing how one big break might be followed by years of smaller jobs. Nick’s advice is to recognize that success is not a straightforward path but instead requires constant persistence and the willingness to adapt with the shifting market. In addition to discussing his career as a whole, Nick also provides listeners insights into the different aspects of working as a photographer, discussing the more logistical demands of his work such as the accounting, negotiating, networking, and self-marketing it involves. In particular, Nick emphasizes the benefits that can come from working with a good team of people with whom you can build a creative camaraderie. As we begin wrapping up our conversation, Nick reiterates to listeners how important it is for entrepreneurs to continually work on their personal development and emotional navigation. He explains that because emotions and beliefs are often what dictate a person’s capabilities, being able to shift your beliefs can help you and your work continually grow and expand, noting that such a mindset is especially important amongst the conditions of a global pandemic. To get Nick’s full advice for artists and hear more about his exciting work and upcoming projects, be sure to listen in to today’s episode! What You’ll Learn in This Episode: In today’s episode, you’ll learn about the highs and lows that come from running your own business, the necessity for artists to continually be building and refining their craft, and tips for combining art and business in order to turn passion into profit. Nick also shares information about his personal career, and how he’s come to find success and fulfillment through his work. This podcast covers New Girl Season 1, Episode 17, Fancyman Part 1, which originally aired on March 20, 2012 and was written by J.J. Philbin & Nick Adams and directed by Peyton Reed. Here’s a quick recap of the episode:Jess has a disagreement with a parent of one of her students and is forced to apologize. Along the way, she ends up seeing Russell is a nice guy and is interested in her. Nick is dealing with bad credit issues and spends the episode in awe of Russell being what he terms a “fancyman”. Meanwhile, Winston is trying to get over feeling dumber than Schmidt in front of Shelby while they play trivia. We discuss Pop Culture References such as:Ghost Protocol - Because Nick cannot afford a phone, he says he’s going ‘Ghost Protocol’ to mean he won’t be able to be contacted.Fight the Power by Public Enemy - When planning how she’s going to confront Russell, Jess shares she would end the confrontation with the song Fight the Power by Public Enemy.Additional Pop Culture References such as:Trivia ReferencesSince trivia was a big part of this episode, there were quite a few pop culture references that pertained to the trivia questions or Elvin training with Winston. Some of these are detailed further below: Princess (Duchess) Kate - Kate (Catherine) Middleton is the Duchess of Cambridge. Unlike the show suggests, Kate is not a princess, but is married to Prince William, Duke of Cambridge.First American Monkey in Space - Albert was the first American primate astronaut however it was actually Albert II that is considered the first American Monkey in Space during his flight in 1949.Goldfinger - This is the 3rd movie in the James Bond series that was released in 1964 and was the first Bond blockbuster. This film introduced many elements that continue in future James Bond films.Golden Hind - This was Francis Drake’s ship that was renamed from Pelican mid-voyage in 1578. There is currently a replica in London that can be visited on the south bank of the Thames.Other References Michael Jordan - Shelby calls Schmidt the “Michael Jordan of bar trivia”. Michael Jordan was a successful Major League Basketball player from 1984-2003, who was known for setting records in the game.Jellies - Cece implies that because Spencer wore Jellies it makes him less desirable. Jellies, also known as Jelly shoes, are shoes made of PVC plastic and are named for their semi-transparent, jelly-like sheen. Jellies first came to prominence around 1980, but have recently been reinterpreted by high end fashion designers.Court of the Sun King - Jess says she wouldn’t have lasted 2 seconds in the Court of the Sun King because she hated groveling. This is a reference to The Court of Louis XIV where the king sought to be adored by his ministers. While Nick was in Russell’s office he made two references to how it smells:Teddy Roosevelt - Teddy Roosevelt was the 26th president of the United States serving two terms from 1901 to 1909. He was known for his love of the “cowboy life” and published 3 books related to hunting.Shakespeare - William Shakespeare was an English playwright in the 1500-1600s who wrote 39 plays, 154 sonnets, and more including famous works like Romeo & Juliet, Hamlet, and Macbeth.Jodeci - When Shelby and Winston are making out, Schmidt offers to put on some Jodeci. Jodeci is an American R&B quartet formed in North Carolina in 1989. They started off as two separate duos of brothers who eventually joined together to form Jodeci. They are still well respected and sampled in many other songs. On this episode’s “Schmidtism” we cover the scene where Schmidt is yelling from the car as Winston and Shelby are making out. We also discuss “easy” stereotypes that the show plays on during our “Not in 2020”. For the guest stars in this episode, we explore the careers of Randall Park and Dermot Mulroney. This episode got a 9/10 Rating from Kritika and 7.5/10 from Kelly and we both had the same favorite character: Nick! Also in this episode we mention a Wired Autocomplete interview that Dermot Mulroney did with Julia Roberts which can be watched here. We also refer to the similarity between Sarah’s artwork and Takashi Murakami’s work which can be found on our website here. Thanks for listening and stay tuned for Episode 18!Music: "Hotshot” by scottholmesmusic.comFollow us on Twitter, Instagram or email us at whosthatgirlpod@gmail.com!Website: https://smallscreenchatter.com/
Nick Fogle of Wavve and Churnkey tells Geordie how he moved from law school to embrace a childhood passion and finally build a successful SaaS product. Nick has managed to thrive in the SaaS industry. However, he neither had intentions of venturing into SaaS nor did he have any college degree to prepare him for disruption in the market. Nick juggled between economics and law but did not like any of the courses. He speaks to Geordie about his journey in this podcast that you do not want to miss. What you’ll Learn How Nick transitioned from being an attorney to a software engineer How did Nick get started in coding? How Nick came up with the Wavve idea How Nick converts audio to video How Nick handled the pricing part of his business How Nick achieved organic growth for his startup How did Nick come up with the idea of Churnkey? In this Episode: After struggling to determine what he wanted to do, Nick’s video gaming passion and coding knowledge finally became his guiding principle. He would then begin a long journey into becoming a software engineer. During this journey, he tried numerous startups, many of which did not succeed. However, it also marked the beginning of Wavve, which has since been a success. Nick says that some people thought he was crazy when he chose to leave law school for coding. He is quick to mention that such a decision would be more sensible today than it was back then, seeing that the world is evolving fast. Nick tells Geordie that his interest in law was slowly fading away in the course of his learning. He was sure that being an attorney was not what he wanted to do, and he had to switch to something he was passionate about. He tells Geordie why he felt that being an attorney was not what he wanted to spend the rest of his days doing. Listen to the podcast to know these reasons. With no coding knowledge, Nick knew that few people would trust his ability, and this is where he decided to learn how to code. At some point, he got a job as a shuttle driver, but he still managed to work from his laptop when he did not have a pickup. Listen to the podcast to find out how he did it and the stack he chose when he started coding. Nick admits that being a solo SaaS startup founder can be a difficult task, but one that’s worth all the effort. His wife introduced him to his co-founder at Wavve after realizing that they had common startup ideas. Nick and his co-founder started working on their first product, which they would later sell. While his co-founder focused on sales and marketing, Nick handled the technical stuff. What was their first product all about? Find out from the podcast. He also talks about his first business model, then in-depth. You cannot miss this section, especially if you are a startup entrepreneur. After selling their first product, Nick and his co-founder had gathered some critical lessons which came in handy when they established Wavve. Nick gives a detailed overview of Wavve and how they started making money from the product. You can only grasp these details by listening to the podcast. In between creation of the product and coming up with pricing, Nick and his team experienced various challenges that he talks about in the podcast. These challenges opened them to the idea of having different plans to cater to different customer needs. Nick says that this idea helped them create better pricing plans. What three payment plans did Nick and his team create? Listen to the podcast to find out. Content marketing in this digital age is fast becoming an essential part of any business. Nick tells Geordie about the content marketing strategy they rely on. He says their strategy is different from what many businesses use. They focus on talking to customers one-on-one and listening to their needs. Nick mentions that one of the most difficult things about building content is starting and writing something. He discusses details about SEO and keywords in this podcast that you should listen to. According to Nick, using a suitable tool to analyze SEO is crucial, especially because Google changes fast. While Nick is operating a business in an overly competitive industry, he says they have managed to remain afloat. Nick also talks about the concept behind Churnkey. Listen to the podcast to get an idea of how it works. Resources Nick Fogle LinkedIn Nick Fogle Twitter

It has all the feels!Nick found an awesome way to keep your identity secret while you claim lottery winnings - dress up as Darth Vader!Bridget picked up a set of lidded Pyrex bowls from Goodwill are super useful. You can get the same set at Amazon by clicking here.Nick thinks that taco holders are mostly useless - but this taco holding divided plate with space for tacos, beans, and rice is super useful!Bridget's recommended Taco Week recipe is this delicious and convenient Taco Rice Bowl recipe. While Nick recommends this incredibly easy to make (but very flavorful) Chorizo Taco recipe. Thanks for listening, we hope you enjoy this week's episode, and please subscribe, rate us, review us, and share with your friends! Have you noticed that over the last few weeks Nick's whisky knowledge seems to have been getting better? He's giving the Whisky God a run for his money. Well it might be because recently he has taken an online course which he was kindly given access to by The Edinburgh Whisky Academy. He'll be talking a bit about the module he has studied for and how he got on. They currently have a 30% off deal on their online courses, so go and check them out.Using this new knowledge (and hoping that Dave keeps up), the boys give their tasting notes for the Glenkinchie 12 year old, which is also from just outside Edinburgh. The first lowland whisky covered on this show. You'll also hear a review from the Whisky God... does he know his place? While Nick has been studying, Dave hasn't been doing much at all, but did try and play golf, which left him wondering what else he wished he was good at but isn't.Edinburgh Whisky Academy:https://www.edinburghwhiskyacademy.com/Twitter: https://twitter.com/EdinWhiskyAcadInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/edinburghwhiskyacademy/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/edinburghwhiskyacademyWhisky and Things:Become a Patron: https://www.patreon.com/whiskyandthingsMerch and info: http://www.whiskyandthings.comBe sure to find our playlist on Spotify: Whisky and Things - The PlaylistSocial media:https://www.facebook.com/whiskyandthingshttps://www.twitter.com/whiskyandthingshttps://www.instagram.com/whiskyandthingspodcastFor business enquiries: info@whiskyandthings.comNick Kent: https://www.facebook.com/nickkentmusichttps://www.twitter.com/nickkenthttps://www.instagram.com/mrnickkentDave Giles: https://www.facebook.com/davejgilesmusichttps://www.twitter.com/davejgileshttps://www.instagram.com/davejgilesSupport this show http://supporter.acast.com/whiskyandthings. About the guest: Nick Davidson is a freelance writer based in the New Mexico high desert. After a master's in writing and publishing at Emerson College, Nick began his journalism journey as an intern, fact-checker and then online editor at Outside magazine. After his stint at Outside, he broke out of the office for a bit of wandering and a few far-flung adventures, landing in the wide-open, muddy terrain of freelancing (emphasis on free). The chances and choices of the particular paths he took led him to a variety of work in fact-checking, research, web production, editing, radio storytelling, reporting and writing. He has tended toward reporting stories that, in some way, funnel toward any of the many facets of an active outdoor lifestyle: adventure, environment, travel, science, gear, movement in nature. But at heart, the stories he aims to share are ultimately centered on people and our complex relationship to the world we inhabit, our ever-shifting understanding of that world, and the constant endeavor to find our place in it. Because there's an overabundance of pessimism, destruction, and despair, he always tells stories that, in the weighing of the scales, dip toward optimism, creative problem solving, and inspiration. Nick is also a martial artist, yogi (of sorts), and musician, all aspects of his life that have shaped him and his pursuit of good stories. In the episode: 2:50 – Nick describes how a publishing course he took in college opened his eyes to non-fiction writing and inspired his career as a journalist. 7:21 – While Nick does use social media, he recommends focusing on making sure your work aligns with your ikigai, a Japanese concept meaning your reason for being. 11:57 – Nick describes the understanding writers have with editors about sharing their stories on social media. 13:30 – Rather than using numbers to measure success, Nick describes how he measures success by determining if the work he does aligns with the things he cares about. 17:15 – Nancy and Nick talk about the joy of finding the career path you enjoy every day and cannot imagine retiring from. 21:49 – To store his ideas, Nick simply uses a word processing app. 22:52 – Nick explains the difference between content marketing and storytelling. 30:38 – Nick talks about how risk-taking is necessary to your career and how you can learn from failure. 37:02 – Nick shares how he has grown his network organically by trying to uplift others. 38:43 – For freelance writers and editors, Nick recommends UPOD, a group of freelancers who share their experiences and learn from each other. Quote “If you home in on your ikigai, your personal genius is another word for it, and if you do work that inhabits that, then I think your followers come naturally. They kind of come the way that moths tend to flutter to the brightest lights.” – Nick Davidson, freelance journalist Links: Outside Magazine: https://www.outsideonline.com/ Emerson College: https://www.emerson.edu/ Ray Bradbury: https://raybradbury.com/ Michael Mead: https://www.mosaicvoices.org/ Neil Gaiman: https://www.neilgaiman.com/ TapeACall Pro: https://www.tapeacall.com/ Activate the PR Maven® Flash Briefing on your Alexa Device. Nick Best is one of the Strongest Men in History. Not only is he on The History Channel show with that same name, he also holds several weightlifting world records for athletes over 40. While Nick admits training is important, that’s not the only reason continues to be at the top of his game. He says that healing is just as important. This episode not only highlights his career as an athlete, but also the many parallels between business and weightlifting. Jeffrey connected with Nick when they were both stranded at the airport and that became the genesis of this great episode. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Nick Hughes is the founder of Founder's Live, a global entrepreneurial community started by Nick to inspire, educate and entertain entrepreneurs around the world. Prior to starting Founder's Live, Nick had already done multiple startups. It was through the process of recovering from a failed startup that Nick started "Feature Friday", an event for early stage entrepreneurs to pitch their ideas in 99 seconds and network with others in the Seattle community. This event proved extremely popular and led to Nick scaling it out globally with events now in over fifty cities. I know Nick from going to the Seattle Founders Live events. While Nick didn't pay me to say this, I'm happy to say that I've always end up meeting interesting people from the event and come out of it feeling highly motivated about doing my own thing. In today's episode, we talk about Nick's entry into entrepreneurship, lessons from having a startup fail, and Nick's vision with Founder's live and where this is going. One of the common episode requests we've received over the last few weeks has been about injuries and injury recovery in relation to the snowsports education career. In this episode of the podcast, you’re going to be hearing a conversation I had with a good friend and colleague, Nick Bottini. Over the past couple of years he’s gone from being the music teacher in a school to being a bestselling author, speaker and coach who’s passionate about sharing the inside-out understanding with musicians. And while hundreds of thousands of people are now exploring and having insights into this understanding, there are relatively few people who are managing to share this understanding effectively. Nick’s an example of someone who’s been proactive in navigating that journey from having his OWN insights into the inside-out nature of life, to helping other people to have THEIR own realisations, but that’s not where he started. In the beginning, Nick experienced what people often call ‘impostor syndrome’ when it came to sharing the principles with musicians. He said, “I did hold off sharing with musicians because I felt like ‘Who am I to share it at all’ and sharing it on my home territory is the scariest thing to do because it's like I've got real credibility to lose. I could be ‘that guy that's always talking about that thing’ you know, and and how will people react to that?” And here’s one of the reasons I’m really excited to be sharing this conversation with you. As you may already know, at our company, we believe the most valuable things you can discover are how experience is created and who you really are. Our mission is to inspire and educate a generation to experience lives of clarity, resilience and wellbeing. And one of the things we’ve realised is that the world needs more people who can share the inside-out understanding with others. While Nick’s story is going to be an inspiration for people who want to ‘get this understanding out there’, there’s an important message for all of us in it: That the most important place to share what you’ve seen is on your ‘home turf’; in the way you’re living your life, and connecting with the people around you. By the way - whether you have an audience you’d like to reach, like Nick, or you just want to share what you’ve realised with the people already in your world, we’ve just launched a new membership site called Clarity Pro. It’s designed for you to have everything you need to share the principles like a pro, with anybody, on any topic and in any situation. To find out more, go to www.JamieSmart.com/claritypro

Hello soccer fans, and welcome back to the Sons of a Pitch: An American Soccer Podcast! Major League Soccer is in full swing as Week 2 of league play is in the books. We saw the rise of LAFC and MNUFC in the West, and the continued solid play of DC United and Columbus in the East. There are still questions around Atlanta United and LA Galaxy, but thankfully for them, the season is young. Here are a few hot takes from tonight's episode: Paunovic and the Fire make the same coaching mistakes every game Gyasi Zardes is the best American striker in MLS Atlanta fans need to chill MNUFC is a lock to make the playoffs Sporting KC will win a trophy this season We next turn to Concacaf Champions League, where the MLS teams have fallen far behind their Liga MX counterparts. Red Bulls have been eliminated after what may have been the worst 9 minutes of soccer in the tournament's history, giving up 4 goals between the 72' and 81' to Santos Laguna. Houston needs a miracle to advance past Tigres, already down 2-0 and with only the 2H to play (at time of posting). Atlanta is down 3-0 to Monterrey, but returns to Mercedes-Benz Stadium where the Five Stripes pulled off a first-round comeback against Herediano. Is there more magic to be had? The MLS' best hope for a deep run in CCL is now Sporting KC, who are down 2-1 but return home against Independiente. While Nick's pick (RBNY) to win it all has been eliminated, and things look bleak for the remainder of the league's teams, the talent gap between MLS and Liga MX is slowly shrinking. But for about 10-15 minutes of each game, MLS teams have gone toe-to-toe with their Mexican counterparts, even dominating at times. But as we all know, moral victories count for nothing, and results are all that matter. What are your thoughts on Week 2? What can MLS teams do to catch up with Liga MX? Tweet at us or leave your thoughts in the comments below. Thanks for listening!
Singer-songwriter Nick Tabron began his journey into songwriting and musicianship at just 11 years old. Growing up Jehovah’s Witness in Raleigh, North Carolina, Nick’s family wasn’t supportive of his pursuit of a career in music in fear of what the industry did to one of the religion’s biggest stars: Michael Jackson. After a fall full of raking leaves and cleaning gutters, Nick finally had enough money to buy his first guitar. He then quickly began teaching himself songs by artists like Smokey Robinson, Stevie Wonder and the rock band Green Day. While Nick continued to work on his craft, he kept his music-making confined to the bedroom he shared with his little brother. It wasn’t until the age of 23 that Nick would write and record his first original song “The Prayer,” which was inspired by the true story of a mother with cancer. Though Nick never knew the woman personally, he couldn’t help but feel moved by her story. The song was eventually aired on a Raleigh morning radio show to help raise money for her and her family.Nick has been inspired to use his music as a form of activism ever since. The visualization of his single “Swing” by film producer Michael Montasouri inspired Nick’s live fundraising event for the American Society for Suicide Prevention, the success of which sent him on a five-city tour shortly after. Nick’s latest single “Exodus” speaks out against online bullying

There was a time when Axl Rose left his small town in Indiana as there was nothing left for him there. To make it, he needed to move west where he would surround himself with other, likeminded people. While Nick Goepper is no Axl Rose, his story is the same. He started honing his craft in the Hoosier state, moved west to Windells Academy and found more success than he ever dreamed of. Like Axl, Nick learned that with success comes problems.
