In the months after Lila's mother passed, the house they once shared began to feel… different. Too aware. Too watchful. As a grieving 13-year-old trying to hold herself together, Lila chalked it up to imagination—until the quiet corners of the home started whispering back.Strange footsteps echoed from rooms no one entered. Voices called her name from empty stairwells. Objects shifted when no one was near them. And on more than one night, something moved through the house with an unmistakable familiarity… as if it knew exactly where her mother used to walk. But not everything Lila encountered felt comforting. Some moments were gentle, almost protective. Others left her frozen in place, questioning whether the presence in the house was her mother—or something else entirely. As the anniversary of her mother's death approached, the house seemed to come alive around her, responding in ways she couldn't explain and didn't dare acknowledge.#ghoststories, #realghoststoriesonline, #paranormalencounters, #hauntedhouse, #spiritvisitation, #afterlife, #supernaturalactivity, #creepyphenomena, #trueghoststory, #unexplainedeventsLove real ghost stories? It began with a rush of cold air in a bathroom and a growl no human throat could make. What followed stretched across multiple homes, multiple years, and multiple attempts to outrun whatever kept finding her in the dark. From beds shaking in the night to shadows slipping through hallways, from terrified pets to friends who saw figures she didn't dare describe, Molly's experiences only grew more intense with each move. A new house brought new nightmares. A new town brought new voices. And no matter how often she changed her address, something seemed to change with her.But it wasn't until people around her—friends, neighbors, complete strangers—started commenting on the same unseen presence that she began to wonder whether the haunting wasn't attached to a place at all… but to her.Now an adult raising a daughter who has begun staring at empty corners, Molly asks the question she's avoided for years: What if some people don't live in haunted houses… but live with the ability to hear what everyone else has learned to ignore?#realghoststories #paranormalencounter #hauntedlife #shadowfigure #sleepterror #entityattachment #ghostlyanimals #residualhaunting #redbluffhaunting #supernaturalexperiencesLove real ghost stories? Our Daily Bread Podcast | Our Daily Bread

In the American West in the late-1800s, the search for dinosaur bones created the Bone Wars in which two paleontologists battled one another in their pursuit of making the most historic find. One writer noted how the two “used underhanded methods to try to outdo the other in the field, resorting to bribery, theft, and the destruction of bones.” He noted how, in trying to ruin each other’s work, both destroyed their own reputations as well. Conflict and competition are inevitable in our broken world. How we choose to engage those conflicts reveals what’s in our hearts. Paul learned of conflict between two women in the church at Philippi and wrote, “I plead with Euodia and I plead with Syntyche to be of the same mind in the Lord.” He asked a fellow believer to “help these women since they have contended at my side in the cause of the gospel” (Philippians 4:2–3). When we find ourselves at odds with fellow believers in Jesus, we need the Spirit’s help. As we submit to His work in our hearts, He’ll help us demonstrate the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22). We’ll experience healing and peace—if not for our own reputations, for the reputation of Christ and the gospel.

You can admire spiritual maturity from a distance, or you can take your formation journey seriously. Many of us prefer the former. We outsource growth to personalities, call delayed obedience "wisdom," and bargain with God when surrender would cost too much. This week on Win Today, Dr. Eric Mason joins me to confront the quiet drift that hollows discipleship: the consumer posture that fuels bad teaching, the spiritual immaturity that bargains with God, and the confusion that happens when we make our assignment our purpose. If your faith has been built around sermons more than Scripture, preferences more than practices, or outcomes more than obedience, this conversation is your invitation to grow up on purpose, with the Spirit, for the long road of holiness. Guest Bio Dr. Eric Mason is the founder and lead pastor of Epiphany Fellowship in Philadelphia and the founder/president of Thriving, an urban ministry training leaders for city contexts. A pastor-theologian for nearly three decades, he has preached and trained nationally and internationally and authored several books. Read OnlineJesus returned to Galilee in the power of the Spirit, and news of him spread throughout the whole region. He taught in their synagogues and was praised by all. Luke 4:14–15This passage from Luke's Gospel takes place immediately after Jesus was baptized by John and spent forty days in the desert, enduring and overcoming the temptations of the evil one. He returned to Galilee “in the power of the Spirit.” Although Luke had not yet recorded any of Jesus' miracles, it becomes clear later in the chapter that Jesus had already performed some in Capernaum, and “news of him spread throughout the whole region.”What was it that caught the attention of so many people? In addition to the word spreading about His miracles, it's likely that the aura of sanctity He had begun to manifest also drew people in. Until that time, Jesus had lived a hidden life. Though He was perfect in every way, His divinity remained concealed within His humanity until the appointed time for His manifestation. Now that the time had come, the veil began to lift, and people started to take notice.Similarly, in our lives, there are times when God calls us to keep our faith concealed within the depths of our souls, to deepen our personal conversion. Then there are times when God lifts the veil and manifests His grace and mercy through us to others. This intentional manifestation of God's grace and glory must happen according to the power and timing of the Holy Spirit. It's not for us to decide how God wants to shine through us—it's up to Him.When you examine your life, what do you see as God's will for you right now? Perhaps your conversion is recent, and much is taking place interiorly. Maybe you are facing temptations and need to rest with our Lord in the desert, confronting and overcoming the evil one. Or perhaps this is a time when God wants to begin manifesting His holiness through you more clearly to others.Today's Gospel ends on a high note: “all spoke highly of him and were amazed at the gracious words that came from his mouth.” That quickly changed, however, when our Lord chastised the people of Nazareth for being more interested in seeing a miracle than in embracing Him as the Anointed One of God, spoken of in the passage He had just read from Isaiah. Jesus' mission was to convert hearts and reveal His true identity as the Messiah. Because the people in His hometown were more interested in seeing a miracle, as if it were a magic trick, they missed the true purpose of His mission and blamed their hardness of heart on Jesus.Likewise, in our lives, when God chooses to manifest His divine grace through us, we should not expect everyone to be receptive. When we are changed by grace, that change will challenge others. Just as the people in Jesus' hometown were not ready to accept Who He was and is, we should anticipate that some might not accept that God is manifesting His grace and truth through us and reject us as those in Nazareth rejected our Lord. Reflect today on the beginning of Jesus' public ministry. As you do, consider whether God might be calling you to begin a “public ministry” of your own, in the way He wills. Be at peace with whatever reaction you receive. While some will rejoice with you, others might not. Have courage, listen to the Holy Spirit, and allow God's anointing to manifest Himself through you in any way He chooses. My divine Lord, in accord with Your Father's will, You concealed Your divinity during the first thirty years of Your earthly life. When the time was right, You began to lift the veil and reveal Your holiness and power. Please help me discern when to embrace a hidden life of prayer and conversion and when You wish to manifest Your holiness through me. Give me the courage to act always in accord with Your perfect will and perfect timing. You'll hear powerful prayers, thoughtful encouragement, and an honest look at what it means to trust God's plan—even when life is confusing or difficult. Whether you're new to the Daily Radio Bible community or a longtime listener, this episode is full of heartfelt wisdom, biblical readings, and an invitation to experience God's healing presence. So grab your Bible, settle in, and let's discover together what God is saying to us today. TODAY'S DEVOTION: Are you wondering about God's plan? Maybe, like John sitting in prison, you feel forgotten or overlooked. You might have been obedient, zealous—done all that God has asked of you—yet circumstances haven't gone the way you would have hoped. Maybe you wonder, "Why isn't God showing up for me? Why isn't He bailing me out?" That's where John the Baptist found himself—hearing stories of Jesus healing Gentiles, raising the dead, and still waiting for God to act in his own life. He sends friends to Jesus and asks, "Are you the one? Are you the plan, or should we wait for someone else?" And Jesus' reply comes back: Yes, I am the plan! Just look—the blind see, lepers are healed, the deaf hear, and the good news is preached to the poor. Jesus' answer is to point to what God is doing, to the evidence of the kingdom breaking in. He says, don't turn away in disbelief. Don't believe the lie that God is holding back, that He is vindictive, petty, or unconcerned about you. That is never the truth. The truth is seen completely in the face of Jesus. God is not against us. He's not withholding. He is with us—abiding, forgiving, loving, liberating. He is healing our brokenness, opening our eyes, restoring us to new life. He is the plan for mending this broken world. He is the plan for mending your broken world, your broken heart. Don't let your circumstances turn you away from believing in Him. Remember the woman who comes to Jesus despite her shame, her reputation, her circumstances. She lets nothing stand in her way—her pride, her ego, her social standing—because her eyes are fixed on Jesus, her eyes have been opened to the truth: she is forgiven, known, loved, and embraced. In knowing this, she holds onto this truth and lives in the joy and freedom that Christ brings. May our prayer be that we will also have eyes like hers—eyes fixed on Jesus, God's plan—not looking for another, but finding everything we need in Him. May we know in Him everything there is to know about God and about who we really are. May we be set free and know His joy. That's a prayer for my own soul, for my family, and for you. May it be so. TODAY'S PRAYERS: Lord God Almighty and everlasting father you have brought us in safety to this new day preserve us with your Mighty power that we might not fall into sin or be overcome by adversity. And in all we do, direct us to the fulfilling of your purpose  through Jesus Christ Our Lord amen.   Oh God you have made of one blood all the peoples of the earth and sent your blessed son to preach peace to those who are far and those who are near. Grant that people everywhere may seek after you, and find you. Bring the nations into your fold, pour out your Spirit on all flesh, and hasten the coming of your kingdom through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.   And now Lord,  make me an instrument of your peace.  Where there is hatred let me sow love. Where there is injury, pardon.  Where there is doubt, faith. Where there is despair, hope.  Where there is darkness, light.  And where there is sadness,  Joy.  Oh Lord grant that I might not seek to be consoled as to console. To be understood as to understand, to be loved as to love.  For it is in the giving that we receive, in the pardoning that we are pardoned, it is in the dying that we are born unto eternal life.  Amen And now as our Lord has taught us we are bold to pray... Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven, give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our tresspasses as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not unto temptation, but deliver us from evil, for thine is the Kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen. Loving God, we give you thanks for restoring us in your image. And nourishing us with spiritual food, now send us forth as forgiven people, healed and renewed, that we may proclaim your love to the world, and continue in the risen life of Christ.  Amen.  OUR WEBSITE: www.dailyradiobible.com We are reading through the New Living Translation.   Leave us a voicemail HERE: https://www.speakpipe.com/dailyradiobible Subscribe to us at YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@Dailyradiobible/featured OTHER PODCASTS: Listen with Apple Podcast DAILY BIBLE FOR KIDS DAILY PSALMS DAILY PROVERBS DAILY LECTIONARY DAILY CHRONOLOGICAL

Travelers stranded in Caribbean as US military operation sends airlines scrambling to add flights A US military operation to capture Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro led to a temporary FAA closure of Caribbean airspace, causing more than 425 flight cancellations and stranding thousands of travelers across islands including Puerto Rico, Anguilla, St. Maarten, and Aruba. Airlines are now restoring service and adding extra capacity, with most commercial restrictions lifted and operations gradually normalizing. Alaska Airlines Captain Sues Boeing Over 737Max Door Plug Incident Alaska Airlines captain Brandon Fisher has filed a $10 million lawsuit against Boeing and subcontractor Spirit AeroSystems, alleging they tried to make him a scapegoat for the January 5, 2024, mid‑air door plug blowout on Flight 1282. He claims Boeing falsely suggested the incident was due to maintenance or crew error, despite later NTSB findings that pointed to Boeing's inadequate training, guidance, and oversight in its manufacturing processes. Fisher says he has suffered “profound physical and mental repercussions” since the blowout, describing ongoing deterioration linked to emotional injury. Alaska Airlines Hits New All Time Record of 540+ Flight Attendants Going Sick With Carrier Struggling to Operate Full Schedule Flight attendants and pilots are calling out sick in great numbers as the flu season takes hold. Alaska Airlines reports that 540 flight attendants are out. Meanwhile, Frontier, JetBlue, and Spirit have activated contingency plans. In an internal memo, Spirit Airlines said, “Our reserve levels are virtually the same as they have been since 2023, but during this holiday, our sick calls have exceeded previous periods by nearly 250% on some days.” Weather delays and ATC shortages have compounded the problem. A memo reviewed by PYOK explained that nearly 20% of the airline's flight attendants called out sick just before the New Year. https://wels2.blob.core.windows.net/daily-devotions/20260107dev.mp3 Listen to Devotion For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love he predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will—to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves. Ephesians 1:4-6 Destined to Be His When you were a child, maybe your parents took you to the animal shelter to pick out your very first pet. You looked at all the cute kittens and puppies until you found one that stole your heart. “I want that one,” you said. And you took it home. God has done the same for his followers. He’s chosen them. He’s adopted them into the family. He’s given them a part in all that is his. He said about them, “I need to have this one. I’m going to make this one my own.” What amazing comfort to know that God did this “in accordance with his pleasure and will.” God wasn’t forced into making his followers his own. He wanted to. And maybe the most mind-boggling thing is that God has chosen and predetermined that they would be his own even before they had a thought of wanting to be his. It’s tempting to think that belonging to Christ was some kind of decision they made. But today’s Bible verses pushes that idea aside. It was God who “chose us in him before the creation of the world.” That truth may cause our brains to run in circles, but it causes our hearts to rest with comfort and confidence. That truth gives us peace to know that no part of our salvation is up to us. God carries out our deliverance from beginning to end. He has sought his people out by his Spirit, paid for them in his Son, and will take them home to live with him forever. Prayer: Almighty Lord, your grace has no beginning and no end. I praise you for loving me even before the world began. I thank you for sending Jesus into the world to purchase me. I go in peace knowing your Holy Spirit has adopted me into your family at my baptism. In Jesus' name. Amen. Daily Devotions is brought to you by WELS. Embark on this year-long voyage through the Bible, and let each day's passage uplift and inspire you. TODAY'S EPISODE: Welcome to the Daily Radio Bible! In today's episode, we mark the sixth day of our journey through the Scriptures together—a journey designed not just to read the Bible, but to let it shape our hearts and point us toward Jesus. Hunter warmly welcomes both newcomers and longtime listeners, reminding us this is a space to keep things simple and consistent, joining sisters and brothers around the globe to be transformed by the God who is love. In this episode, we dive into Genesis 15 through 17, exploring God's promises to Abram and the unfolding story of faith, doubt, and amazing grace. We hear about the covenant God makes, the struggles Abram and Sarai face, and the birth of Ishmael. Then, we turn to the Gospel of Luke, chapter 6, where Jesus challenges us with radical teachings—inviting His followers to love their enemies, act compassionately, and build their lives on the solid foundation of His words. Through prayer, reflection, and encouragement, Hunter reminds us that God is far better than we can imagine, and that as we discover this truth, we're invited to be people marked by love, generosity, and compassion. Join us as we continue building habits that nourish the soul, deepen our faith, and help us live as instruments of God's peace in the world. Let's journey together into the heart of God! TODAY'S DEVOTION: He is so much better than we think. God comes to Abraham and promises him things that are almost too good to be true: to make him the father of many nations, to bless all the people of the world through him, to give him the land of Canaan. And yet, to Abraham, this promise seems too much, almost unbelievable. So Abraham and Sarai come up with their own version, trying to make God's promise more "possible" by taking matters into their own hands with a surrogate son. Isn't that what we do? We often limit what we think God can do; we imagine a version of God and his goodness that fits into our own expectations and fears. We settle for what we believe is reasonable, what seems achievable, rather than trusting in the immense, extravagant goodness of God. But God is so much better than we dare to think. Jesus is the proof of that. As Hunter points out, Jesus describes a way of life that is greater than what most would even dare to attempt: loving your enemies, doing good to those who hate you, blessing those who curse you, and praying for those who hurt you. These are not humanly reasonable reactions—these are divine ways of living, God's ways, the way of the kingdom. If you do these things, Jesus says, you are truly acting as children of God. Why? Because God himself is kind to the unthankful and even to the wicked. He is compassionate. That is who he is. And yet, how often do we scale that version of God down? We put limitations on his love, his kindness, his grace, as if he can only be good to those who perform, behave, or believe just right. But Jesus pushes us to imagine God as better than anything we have dared to believe. The God Jesus reveals is bigger, better, and more loving than our imaginations, anxieties, or fears have allowed. When we let this truth soak in at the beginning of this year, when we dare to believe that God is as good as Jesus shows us, something happens: we begin to live differently. We begin to love our enemies. We begin to do good to others, even when it doesn't benefit us. We begin to live as children of the Most High, reflecting his character into the world. That's a prayer that Hunter has for his own soul, for his family, and for you too: that we would begin to imagine, trust, and live into the extraordinary goodness of God. That God is more than we've hoped, and his love is more than enough for us.

Joy in marriage isn't about perfect circumstances—it's about a deep, Spirit-formed posture of the heart. In this episode, Derek, Gabrielle, and special guest Andrew Owen explore how biblical joy sustains marriages through hardship, disappointment, and everyday life, and how couples can actively choose joy together.Discussion Questions:1- When you think about your marriage right now, would you describe it as joyful? Why or why not?2- How would you define the difference between joy and happiness in your relationship?3- What currently tends to rob joy in your marriage (fear, anxiety, unmet expectations, bitterness)?4- How can you better encourage one another daily so your hearts don't become hardened?
