Welcome to Season 3 of the Real Pink podcast! The word “cancer” can bring about sudden and intense emotions. You may have feelings like fear, anger, frustration, depression and even helplessness. These emotions are normal. No one can tell you how to feel, how not to feel or to change the way you feel. Allowing yourself to express your emotions can help you begin to cope. Today’s guest is Cara Sapida. She found that writing about her experience was therapeutic and helped her to work through the shock and reality of her diagnosis. Special Guest: Cara Sapida.
I talk about creatine a lot, I've written hundreds of articles online about its benefits, drawbacks, and supplements that contain it. I've been a freelance fitness and nutrition writer for 6 years now, and clients are always asking for articles about it. This podcast talks about five surprising benefits of creatine. What are the Five Surprising Benefits of Creatine? I am not about to ruin the surprise for my podcast listeners here, that would be pointless. If you want to find out the hundreds of scientifically proven benefits of creatine then go onto the examine.com website and find out for yourself. Creatine is known for its ability to improve athletic performance. Allowing you to train harder, and to see gains in strength, speed, and power. But it has many benefits, particularly for the elderly and for vegetarians/vegans. For some reason, creatine got a bad reputation among the general public, based on misinformation. Creatine is NOT a steroid, is NOT illegal, and is NOT dangerous. Our bodies produce it naturally, and it is found in meat and fish. Supplementation has many benefits for old and young alike. Passionfruit Pale Ale by Innis & Gunn Innis & Gunn produced one of the first craft beers I ever had. Their bourbon-barrel-aged Scotch ale was a revelation. At least it was to all my friends, I wasn't a massive fan. Then again, I'm not a big fan of bourbon, so perhaps this was not surprising. That being said, I am well aware that their original beer is well-loved, and it's not that I dislike it. I'm just not going to order it. Their passionfruit pale ale on the other hand, is very decent, and I'd consider a second or even a third if offered. I wrote an article on Celtic Craft beer, and completely neglected to mention Innis & Gunn, so hopefully, this podcast will rectify the situation somewhat. They deserve to be mentioned alongside Brewdog, and I can't think of higher praise!
People become sheeple (sheep people) when they are waiting for some shepherd to come around and tell them where to go, how to think, and what opinion they should have. In this class, I'm talking about how human beings turn into sheeple, drift in life without any direction, allowing others to direct their lives; And how you can think for yourself. [03:41] 1) Following without thinking. [09:24] 2) Looking in the window instead of the mirror. [13:52] 3) Allowing other people to assign you your opinions [23:18] 4) The responsibility that comes with thinking and doing things for yourself [25:18] Recap Episodes Mentioned: 1624: The Biggest Challenges Facing Black America dreallday.com/1624- 1153: The Mirror And The Window: Leadership dreallday.com/1153- 1288: How To Mind Your Business dreallday.com/1288- 1674: Are You YOUR Biggest Fan? dreallday.com/1674- 846: True Confidence: Disconfirming Yourself dreallday.com/846- 1474: Stop Watching "The News"! dreallday.com/1474- 609: The 5 Forms Of Investment, And How To Use Each dreallday.com/609- 1621: How To "Do For Self" dreallday.com/1621- --- Next Step: Get Paid for Your Game And Stop Settling at Work On Your Game University: WorkOnYourGameUniversity.com Get The Free Books: The Mirror Of Motivation: MirrorOfMotivation.com The Overseas Basketball Blueprint: BallOverseas.com How To Play As Well As You Practice: HoopHandbook.com/Free Be sure to Subscribe to have each new episode sent directly to you daily! Toughness is often considered an essential ingredient in success. Sacrificing our humanity in the name of results is part of how many organizations do business. This dangerous approach ignores the central part of an organization: its people. Today’s guest works to bring the human element back to the workplace so that we can succeed with empathy and kindness. In this episode: Quickly adapting to the changes of 2020 [1:58] A new approach to leadership development and empathy [10:05] The role of kindness in creating high-performance [13:40] How convergence builds great cultures [17:32] Fostering values and competencies to create results [21:11] The new responsibility of supporting mental and emotional wellbeing in the workplace [26:30] Important questions leaders should ask their team [37:50] About David Hanrahan As Chief Human Resources Officer of Eventbrite, David Hanrahan leads the global human resources team and plays a key role in leading organizational culture initiatives. David’s career has spanned more than 18 years building strong HR teams and fostering a collaborative team culture across global organizations such as Niantic, Zendesk, Twitter, Electronic Arts, and Universal Pictures. Adapting in a Crisis David recounts how, shortly after he joined Eventbrite, the whole company had to restructure due to the pandemic. In a company built on live events, David has had to be very creative. There’s nothing like a crisis to bring out creativity. David describes some of the new ways in which he keeps his team engaged as they redefine what a live event is in 2020. An Empathetic Approach To Leadership As we all struggle, David explains how leaders can best manage by leading with empathy and kindness. One thing many organizations are embracing is employee flexibility. Giving your people choice in how they can best do their work reinforces their value. Leadership development is also more important than ever. When few things are predictable these days, so much rests on leadership. David explains how building one’s capacity for empathy leads to more trust and stronger leadership overall. It also gives leaders the power to address the mental health issues that may be affecting their team members. Taken altogether, this leads to a more productive and satisfied team of people. Quotes: “In this pandemic and this human organization that we’re going to try to build, this is going to rest on leadership.... We need all of our leaders to be fostering the experience that we want.” [10:38] “If we have more impact and less activity - activity for fewer things and do them better - then that is a ticket for us to be a better team. It’s a ticket for me to actually have more control in my life.” [17:13] “I think mental health has a stigma. The more that leaders talk about this openly and have forums, then you see that it becomes normal. It’s okay to not be okay is something we talk about.” [27:01] Key Takeaways: Productivity and results actually increase with more employee flexibility. Allowing your people to make more choices is empowering and leads to better use of time and resources. Leaders have the responsibility to support mental health in the workplace. Providing resources for help, normalizing struggles, and addressing issues in a compassionate way will lead to higher performance and satisfaction. In this episode of the Toe-2-Toe Podcast, hosts Jenn Murtland and Monica Weakley throw metaphorical fists over this question: should you let the listing agent show your buyer the house? As usual, this one is fiery!Episode Highlights: As a listing agent herself, Jenn doesn’t mind, though she thinks it depends on the circumstances.Monica thinks that you are not properly representing your client if you allow the listing agent to show the house. If you can’t go to the showing, Monica believes you should send another agent that you trust.Jenn believes that you must first determine if someone is a buyer or just a lead.Showing the house gives you the opportunity to hear about the buyer’s financial situation. The listing agents probably wouldn’t sell the house if they knew everything that was going on behind the scenes. There are a plethora of options for replacements to show the house and Monica believes the listing agent should not be first on the list. While Jenn wants an experienced agent, Monica thinks they can be inexperienced but still be able to do the job.Depending on the market, listing agents might actually be present at all the showings.Listing agents should take initiative to call the buyer’s agent to see what the buyer wants to see. There are a plethora of factors that go into this situation that need to be considered. This week’s tiebreaker, Joe McQuillan, has over 35 years of real estate experience and believes that there are 2 sides to this coin. While every situation is different, Joe believes as a general rule you should not allow the listing agent to show the house.3 Key Points:Just because someone is looking at a house doesn’t mean that they are a buyer. You must separate the buyers from the leads.Allowing the listing agent to show the house should not be your first go-to, rather, you should reach out to another agent that you trust. If agents do decide to have the listing agent show the house, they need to prepare the buyer and the listing agent to make sure there’s no funny business and the agent can focus on what the buyer wants to see.Resources Mentioned:Jenn Murtland (website, LinkedIn, Facebook)Call Jenn at (513) 400-1691 to discuss transitioning to eXp RealtyMonica Weakley (website, LinkedIn, Facebook)Joe McQuillan (website, (516) 808-6363)

Do you Google 'anxiety symptoms', 'how to stop anxiety', or 'how to beat anxiety' but end up just feeling more anxious? Googling your symptoms or joining anxiety groups on Facebook can end up just causing you more anxiety as they are just full of anxious, worried people without proper qualified support or therapy. I am a fully qualified Psychotherapist with a private practice in Chorley, Lancashire where I see clients in person (pre-covid) or now online via Zoom calls see my website for more info: https://jaccijones.co.uk/ I understand how expensive 121 therapy can end up costing, and it is such a shame but it is often out of the price range of the people that need it the most. So I have set up a membership group called Living Life Being Human that is a supportive online group of like-minded people with the help of a fully qualified Psychotherapist (me) to support and coach you on your journey to make a change in your life and to better understand and deal with your anxiety, stress or overwhelm. It is FREE for the first month for a limited time only (£19.99pm thereafter) so what have you got to lose? A lot of people feel comfortable paying £40-£50pm for a gym membership but think twice before investing in their mental health but I can tell you from experience that it is your mind that controls EVERYTHING! Once you are able to manage your mind and your thinking, a shift in your whole reality happens and life and the world becomes a much more enjoyable experience and you will become better connected with everyone around you. If anything I have been saying resonates with you head over to https://livinglifebeinghuman.co.uk/ now and see what all the fuss is about, it could change your life! Jacci x
We are blessed with the Wisdom of our ancestors. Who teach us and guide us in this Bible Blueprint for life. They teach us about the power of healing, the power of forgiveness, and the strength we all posses to remove emotional layers that prevent us from coming close to each other. It all begins with making that quarter turn in our lives. Removing the veil- the mask - that separates us. Letting our guard down a little, surrendering a little more. Allowing the healing waters of forgiveness to seep in so that love may prevail. May we all Find the will and strength to turn, when we need TO FORGIVE, TO HEAL, TO LOVE.

Let's chat: http://callwithjaime.com Creating a student focused culture online will look vastly different than the culture we create in brick & mortar studios on main street... In person, we can post up pictures of our students performing, presenting, practicing, learning and demonstrating. There are images of recitals or gallery shows. Walking through your door makes it fairly easy for the students to see that they belong. In the online space, we have to create that culture in a different way. There is no physical door and no physical walls to demonstrate our student focused culture. The three places we can most easily showcase our student focused culture online is Social Media Inside our group programs, membership sites and courses Your main website On social media, we are able to showcase our students -- we can show their successes, their artwork in virtual galleries or video clips performing the music they have been working on and we can use these platforms (Instagram most specifically) to create that feeling of belonging. Students can see what others are doing and see themselves doing the same thing. Social media is a really important component of creating the student focused culture. It helps your students see that they are part of something bigger than themselves. This doesn't come from posed images of your students, think outside the box -- go live with a student, share tech bloopers and virtual concerts. Next, inside or programs, let's make sure to bring in real life examples and demonstrations with past students (or current students) rather than doing every demo yourself. Involve your students in the process and they will know that you value them. Allowing the opportunity for our students to become friends (or at least become friendly with one another.) Fostering this sense of student focus and camaraderie can be built right into your program. Including forums and peer feedback, ice breakers and peer motivation all work towards this goal. And it helps your students feel supported and that their thoughts, opinions and work isn't taken out of context but contributes to the studio culture. We want our students to feel that they are truly connected. We want them to feel good and excited for every live session and every time they return to the computer to learn from our recorded content and interact and engage with their peers. The final place we want to highlight our student focused culture is on your studio's website. Here we want to do more than use stock photos and text. We want to create an immersive experience so that our students can truly picture themselves having success working with our online studio. Much like someone can understand how a brick & mortar studio functions and who it caters to when they walk through the door, that's the same subconscious feeling we need to evoke through our website. Use colors that resonate with your students, feature student stories and testimonials prominently, cater the messaging to their core motivations. That's all about the visuals and personality of the studio -- making it welcoming to the type of student you want to work with. Now, we also want to put the student's dreams and aspirations at the forefront of our culture. This goes beyond just "you" as the studio owner and online instructor. Because in the online space, our student pool is global, and our students have the option of learning from any instructor anywhere in the world. Neither side is confined to location, time of day or distance. What is your studio's mission? Is it student focused? (hint, it should be!) This needs to be represented visually -- with colors that resonate with them, with language that pulls them in and so on. Everything comes back to the student It doesn't matter who you are if you can't showcase to your students what they are going to get out of working with you

We've done the very best we can with the insanity & intensity that is 2020. Do you remember when we referred to is as "The Roaring 20's" when so many NYE parties last year focused on the 20's speakeasy themes? Perhaps the 20's Prohibition Era knew something about "history repeating itself" in the commercial realm? In looking at our World today, some of the biggest issues are: Climate Crisis & Clean Energy, Education; Environmental Sustainability, Global Public Health, Human Rights, Marine/Wildlife Conservation, and Food Insecurities. Allowing us to focus-in on 2020 in the United States? Oh how about,: Voting Rights; Climate Justice; Healthcare; Refugee Crisis; Racial Injustice; Income Gap; Gun Violence; Equality; and Food Insecurity again. The Global Pandemic, not to mention everything on our own soil has been a MONSOON ON STEROIDS. Please throw in sparkles of magic from the Holidays! This monster of joy adds the stress of traveling, potential losses of loved ones, bi-partisan election resentments, over-spending, family tensions, consuming too many addictive treats...and this is all tied in a "pretty red ribbon" that is COVID-19!Even our resilient ancestors may offer us some type of sympathy in today's "climate," shall we say? Hmmmm....maybe? maybe not? On that, I try to remind myself that my own ancestors fleed Countries that not only were dangerous, but are more so today than ever before. The truth is that our ancestors & so many today have survived the unthinkable. Please remind yourself that YOU have been through tough times in the past, and yet still made it through! Please know I'm NOT downplaying anything, as this has been one of my worst times in my own life, hands-down....from a disastrous accident on a film job and pushing through COVID alone with emergency surgeries, casts on multiple limbs....fast forward to October when I lost my Queen, a.k.a. My Fabulous Grandmother? Oh no argument from this end! 2020 has been an atrocious beast.....and NOT in a good way!Remind yourself of the things you did to cope and get through your previous hard times...how did you get through the emotional ups/downs? We all have many more hardships to face, and just remember how STRONG AND RESILIENT you have truly proven to be! We are now heading into thick of the Holiday Season and have task lists, projects, and jobs that need to be completed by the end of the year, let alone Christmas Day! Try to prioritize into bite-sized pieces with due dates, add what is needed to accomplish such deadlines, divide, and conquer! Instead of being overwhelming, this will make us focus and allow for less mental stress. Some Positives that Came from Pandemic: Slowing Down and Spending Time with our Families in Quarantine, Front Line Workers, HealthCare Workers, and TEACHERS received the praise they have ALWAYS deserved, People became more active via fitness and getting outdoors, Many Companies have changed to allow for equality (Crayola making colors where children can actually represent themselves on paper), Endless Creativity from alternative Trick-orTreating and Birthday Parties allowed for great fun....and how about bringing the Ol' Drive-In-Movies back into our lives! The speed at which Pfizer & Moderna were able to create vaccines in less than a year, no matter how cautionary this may be, is still beyond impressive. Humans are smart and amazing, and let's keep pushing ourselves together, while we BEAT 2020 at it's own game. What a few things we can do these next couple of days before Christmas Day and into NYE...all while mustering a smile full of Joy & Holiday Spirit:MOVE: WE feel better mentally, when we're in better physical health. Use the "HALT" METHOD: Change up your actions if you feel Hungry, Angry, Lonely, or Tired. Continue those health goals by FINDING TIME FOR YOURSELF, resting, and getting ample sleep to wake up refreshed the next day. (Remember, lack of sleep causes raised cortisol levels, and on to weight gain). You DESERVE your beauty "and sanity" rest. Perhaps wind down with a sappy Holiday move in the dark , while the tree is glowing in the background...and what a great time to perhaps REKINDLE the potential loss of romance with a significant other while struggling together in quarantine. If they don't take the hint, use a little mistletoe while offering a neck massage.Acknowledge Your Feelings: I have a tough time with this, as I instead like to be strong for others. On this, I remind myself that "one has to put on their own life jacket before helping others." If you're the same, I encourage you to...Reach out to others for help and express how you actually feel. Allow your friends, family, neighbors to be there for you, just as you would for them... even if just through a weekly text message! Seek professional help via therapists, support groups, and virtual events. You can remain anonymous, and not run into anyone nor leave your home, if utilizing online counseling platforms. I've also found that volunteering, donating, and adding yourself to volunteer organizations immediately lifts my spirits via helping others. The need this year is greater than ever before.Put Perfection Aside: You are trying your absolute best, with limited resources, so try to let go of "perfectionism," and don't allow anyone to judge you. Many of the usual family traditions have have to be pushed to another year, or maybe on a lesser level. Realize that we are all lucky to have one another, so remove the expectations and push through. Perhaps a child was hoping for a certain gift under the tree....maybe you weren't able to even get a tree this year? Again, avoid expectations....leading us to...Sticking to an Allocated Budget: Downsize via homemade gifts, gift exchanges, or donations in another's name. If you forget a gift while you're getting ready to see the recipient, never fear! Use the OPITS METHOD: Order Online, Pick it Up at the Store via Curbside. If it's a local store, do the old fashioned "Call Ahead, Reserve, Pick it Up" Method. When in doubt, use an inside out, clean Doritos bag, throw in a candle, and tie with a ribbon.Plan Ahead - Those task lists & watching the weather, getting certain supplies ahead, and plan for things to go wrong....what are your emergency "backups?".Learn to Say No: You can't do it all, and allowing yourself that extra time to be used elsewhere (hey! even for a massage to escape for a bit!)....don't feel guilty....feel empowered with your choices.Try not to let go of your health, fitness, nutrition goals...that extra time turning down a much-too-chatty Zoo call among friends may allow you 30 minutes of resistance training or healthy meal-prepping. Completely "throwing in the towel," will cause you to be angry and disappointed in yourself, so try to stay on track.Practice Gratitude: So many of us are so blessed, and it's very important to find gratitude each day. I'm very grateful of the wonderful people in my life, and thankful for the doctors taking care of me. Truly, I'm grateful for all the awesome people that listen to this podcast! Even if it's hard to find, maybe it's just as small as appreciating a song that came on the radio, or the laughter and eye rolls that come from watching a sappy Hallmark Movie...or laughing with your kids at "Buddy The Elf!" Know that you are surrounded by others who love you and are there to support you. I know I am.If alone for the Holidays, try to at least reach out to friends and family via phone or a Zoom/FT call to see their faces. Try to indulge yourself with a great book, movie, Chinese takeout, massage, etc. Remember that next year will surely be better.Job losses, restaurant closures, retail closures, corporate downsizing...all of these alone have affected so many and it's not a laughing matter while taking care of families and employees. However, I know some that have realized they never really loved that job anyway, and have decided to relocate to pursue other passions. There IS help out there, and there will be much more assistance to come in the future. I encourage you to remember your passions, dreams, and doing what you enjoy....simply because we all see how short life can be. This could turn into a wonderful opportunity to re-invent yourself!Despite the horror of the "Roaring 20's" that just seems to KEEP ON ROARING! (Limp Bizkit), let's not give up on ourselves, don't give up on YOURSELF, and let'e allow ourselves to WIN in 2020 because we all did the very best in the worst of times. I wish you all a Beautiful Holiday & Merry Christmas.HOST ANNE MCDANIELS LINKS:Facebook: Anne McDanielsFacebook: Anne McDaniels ActressInstagram: @annemcdanielsactressInstagram: @annemcdanielsTwitter : @annemcdanielsIMDB : Anne McDanielsMusic Credit: "Voyage By Steam"; Artist waxsocks; Creative Commons Licensing

I was born and raised in the same apartment that I still live in today in New York City. My whole life I wanted to prevent endangered species from going extinct. I got my Bachelors in Pre-Veterinary Medicine but switched courses to pursue my Masters in Conservation Biology after spending a month in the neotropical rainforests of Belize as a field technician on a project that studies jaguars, pumas, and ocelots. I’m currently on the road to be a wildlife biologist and still figuring out which animal I want to focus my conservation work on but am mainly interested in primates and wild cats and working in people-animal conflict research. I am fascinated with the universe around us & have always felt drawn to the moon. I grew up drawing fairies and creatures from The Spiderwick Chronicles and believed in impossible things. I am an only child so drawing was always something I got lost in, creating a world of my own. My mother is an artist and always encouraged me to never stop creating. I created Living Luna with the goal to make people feel good about themselves again, while also finding a way to give back to a global cause. When giving back, I wanted to target three foundations that support our existence: humanity, the environment, and animals. By giving back to the three essences of life that make up our little blue planet, you're helping to make this world a better place. My favorite part about my job is that I get to connect with others and have my art in the homes of people halfway across the world. Thank you for being a part of my journey.

“One day you’ll set him down, and never pick him up again.” Cue ALL.THE.TEARS. Want more tears? What about the fact that you’ll never know when that moment is. Ugh. I can’t even write about this without curling up into the fetal position. Listen, Jen and I talk about this reality in this conversation. We give a little loving advice to the veteran moms who have already experienced this. And mostly, we talk about how important it is to stay present in the moment. Allowing ourselves to feel everything we feel, not wishing away time, but not living in the past or worrying about the future. God has given you beautiful gifts in your children, but they are ultimately His. Keep doing the best you can, love them with all you’ve got, and take one day at a time. Oof. You’ve probably got a friend (or 10) that needs to hear this. Please share it with them! Welcome to THE TRUE NORTH COLLECTIVE℠ PODCAST: SEASON 3! With co-hosts Rachel Bellotti (she/her) and Jenell Riesner (she/her), this is a gathering of un-sugar-coated conversations celebrating the untold stories of everyday people fearlessly finding and living their true north. In our own search to discover and live from our TRUE NORTH, we continue to meet many interesting, courageous people from all walks of life, doing all sorts of amazing things to live life in their own unique way. Stories from all over the world. Stories with heart. Stories with grit. Stories with plot twists. Stories going untold - until now. This season, we celebrate these untold stories of everyday people who are fearlessly living their true north and inspiring each of us to do the same. Today, we’re excited to bring PART 2 of our final 2020 free, pre-recorded workshop all about PRESENCE. If you haven’t listened to PART 1 yet, we highly recommend you start here and then come back with this follow-up conversation about presence, with our favorite life coach, Judy Dejno, CEO of THRIVE - a human development company. This episode is an open discussion about presence and authenticity, from the perspectives of 3 humxns learning how to be more present. We talk about the cycle of presence, embracing the suck, chasing happiness, fixing self vs embracing self, and presence in connection with others. *note: this episode includes explicit language appropriate for those ages 16+ RESOURCES MENTIONED: #amplifymelanatedvoices @meditationswithsha #amplifymelanatedvoices @narcissismrecoverycenter #amplifymelanatedvoices @soulcarecollective Narcissism recovery center Music from: https://www.jukedeck.com/ 3 KEY TAKEAWAYS: What if instead of running away, avoiding, or fighting the sucky times, we embraced them? What does that even mean to embrace the suck? To us it means, allowing it to be what it is without making meaning out of it and accepting it as a part of the reality you are living in so that you can take that into account as you choose your next step. If you don’t embrace it, then you are fighting it and it fights back. If you embrace it, maybe you can work with it and put energy towards new solutions that factor the suck into it vs using that same energy to try and hope and pretend that the suck isn’t there - when it clearly is. Also know that acceptance of the suck can take time and there is also a grieving process that might happen concurrently. Know that all of that is ok and nobody expects you to leapfrog your emotions if you aren’t ready to embrace something - but know that when you are ready, that option is always there for you. What are you chasing? Happiness? Success? Is it sustainable? What would be sustainable? What if the only truly sustainable thing was to sit with what is here right now, and now, and now? What if sustained happiness is not about chasing some future state, but in being able to sit with what is, in this moment? To embrace the fullness of life that’s happening right now in all its forms. To savor the moment for what it is. To lean into the depths and aliveness of this humxn experience that only exists right now? What do you think? What if personal development isn’t about fixing you, but instead it’s about learning to embrace EVERY SINGLE ASPECT of who you ACTUALLY are? Are you trying to grow and evolve to fix a perceived deficit or to be a different person? Or are you trying to expand the compassion and acceptance of yourself beyond just what feels comfortable? To embrace the wholeness of the imperfection that is who we all are. What if THAT is actually real personal development work? What if THAT is where the magic is? In this week's episode of the Follower of One podcast, Mike talks with Elmo Winters. Elmo is currently the Executive Director and Founder of Kingdom Group, International. Kingdom Group is a non-profit collaborative addressing racial and cultural issues, with emphasis on reconciliation and unity. Elmo has been in ministry for over 40 years and we are pleased to welcome him to our Community! God has put all of us here on earth together. In light of recent events, it seems as though we are separated by the largest deficit in human history. This is not the case but it seems that way, right? Mike talks with Elmo on this very topic. One of the great things Elmo is doing with his work is allowing people of all different backgrounds to come together and learn from one another. We must unify under our faith to move forward and prosper. No kingdom can ever prosper if its people are fighting amongst themselves. Let's unite and fight evil TOGETHER! Stop Quoting and Start Living The main quote of this interview is such an inspiration to me here at Follower of One. Sometimes we get caught up in studying the word that we forget to live the word itself. In a world where more and more things are becoming virtual, we must let people see our faith in new and inspiring ways. One of those ways is the proverbial "walk the walk and not just talk the talk". We need to stop quoting the Bible and start living the Bible. If you are wondering how to do this, Elmo wrote a short practical book on this subject! It is called "Growing by Going". Check out the link below to the book! How are you going to start living the word today? Tomorrow? Next week? Let us know in the comments below! Interview Quote " We have to stop quoting John 3:16 and start living John 3:16. Allowing people to experience the very love of Jesus Christ that comes through us. That impacts lives and then they treat you differently..." Do you Google 'anxiety symptoms', 'how to stop anxiety', or 'how to beat anxiety' but end up just feeling more anxious? Jacci x
Lawyers get a thrill from a fight. And Noam Cohen and Hannah Genton, founding partners of transactional law firm CGL, are taking on a major opponent: cultural expectations that lawyers must burn themselves out in exchange for high salaries and big bonuses.CGL is a distributed law firm, meaning that its attorneys work wherever they want and on their own schedules. As long as they give clients exceptional service, they’re in charge of their own hours and where they spend them. For example, Hannah is a morning person who lives in Salt Lake City, while Noam is a night owl who just moved to Israel. The pair met at UC Berkeley Law, bonded over studying for the bar, and then survived careers in “BigLaw,” the collective nickname for the most prestigious law firms in the country.Noam and Hannah both came to resent the industry’s attitude towards attorneys. Huge salaries and big bonuses are based on minimum billable hours, which encourage lawyers to work as hard as possible, whether they’re actually being productive or not.“It's the golden handcuffs,” Noam says. “That's why it's really hard to leave BigLaw. Yet the burnout is so high. … It's very much ‘We'll solve this with money,’ and it doesn't work in the long run.”She and Hannah argue that allowing attorneys to work where and when they’ll be at their most productive leads to a higher quality service for clients. Plus, not spending money on a centralized office means CGL can offer competitive rates. And clients who don’t have to worry about high billable hours are more engaged. “Back at my BigLaw firm, clients would call me and ramble five things and then jump off the phone because they were so concerned with my billable rate,” Hannah says. “It was hard to get deep with certain clients because of that price point. At CGL, we’ve found ourselves becoming a strategic partner to clients, which is how I always envisioned a lawyer: as part of the team.”##Featured Entrepreneurs

On today's show, Lindsay talks about how to get out of the cycle of trying to please everyone around you. It’s so easy to be completely consumed with trying to gain the approval of others. And to want everyone that you come in contact with to think you are a “good person” or an “awesome mom” or a “great employee” or whatever it is. But in this, often we end up needing other people's validation in order to feel worthwhile and loved. Our intentions are good, but suppressing who we really are and what we need is a one way trip in feeling out of control, overwhelmed and exhausted. On this podcast channel, Lindsay talks all the time about productivity tips. But the truth is - if you struggle with this at all - the most effective way to reclaim control of your life is to begin to accept who you truly are, and to express yourself in the most authentic way possible. No facades to please others. No settling for less. No apologies. Just being who you are and doing what you want. Because here’s the thing… it’s just a colossal waste of time. Allowing other people to determine how you operate my life is incredibly inefficient, but even worse, it can result in a lot of unhealthy behaviors that Lindsay outlines in this episode. Behaviors like… 1. No boundaries. No idea how to say no. 2. Perfectionism 3. Put yourself last 4. Expect others to return the favor 5. Holding yourself back. 6. Living in fear. So many people feel like happiness is just out of reach throughout most of their life, but don't know why. Once you figure it out – it can change everything for you. One of the first steps to becoming authentic is to allow yourself to take an honest look at who you really are, without the filter of others’ opinions. As you go through this process, Lindsay explains that you may learn these lessons… 1. No one is perfect. Strive for excellence instead of perfection. 2. Learn to embrace the messiness and the vulnerability of real life. 3. You can open up and be vulnerable with your flaws and strengths and opinions. 4. You learn how to utilize your “bad” traits in a healthy way, instead of constantly trying to deny, avoid or run away from them. 5. You boundaries with others and stop doing things out of obligation. 6. You stop expecting others to meet your needs too. 7. You learn that trying to be everything to everybody isn't going to get you anywhere. 8. You stop trying to pretend you’re something you’re not. Accept your shortcomings and stop judging yourself for not having it all figured out. 9. You'll compassion for others who were also struggling. 10. You’ll stop trying to control situations to avoid confrontation. We could all use a bit of healing. Relax and allow yourself to sink into this restorative Kundalini mantra meditation. We are all part of the same earth, sun, moon and universe. Allowing ourselves to feel the collective energy is healing not to just us as individuals but the earth and everything on it. Let's meditate.
On today's episode, our weekly crossover special returns as is Evan is joined by Q from Locked On Raiders to preview this super important matchup on Sunday in Las Vegas. Who's going to come out on top with playoff seeding on the line? Starting off in Vegas, what's changed for Derek Carr in 2020? More confidence within Jon Gruden's offense, as well as added playmakers, have made Carr's job security safe for the long-term. Also, what's going on with Vegas' defense? Allowing almost 30 points per game, a lack of pass rush has them looking vulnerable against Indy. Flipping it over to the Colts, how has Philip Rivers looked compared to Jacoby Brissett? Also, what has changed for Indy's defense after acquiring DeForest Buckner? Closing it out, we hit on two former Raiders who are faring well in Indy: Denico Autry and T.J. Carrie. Finally, Evan and Q provide their predictions for Sunday. Will it be the Colts or the Raiders who exit Allegiant Stadium with a much-needed victory for playoff positioning? Why do we keep it a secret when pleasure is so fucking beautiful? Following your pleasure and allowing others to witness it can be so healing. Over the weekend, I attended a Play Party with my best friend and roommate Kelley and on today’s episode, we dive into the sacred and loving experience of attending a Temple Night. Join us as we talk through our shared journey with the intimate practices and the sober, conscious, and connected play. We get deep into: What a Play Party really is and why calling it a sex party can be inaccurate Why I am able to enjoy this experience even though I am not especially attracted to group sexual activities The sensual playground and environment of the party How the group acknowledged their level of play, desires, and boundaries for the evening Why valuing consent is such a HUGE part of conscious play parties The exercises that helped us practice saying yes and no to specific desires Allowing a man to touch my goddess dough (belly rolls) and receiving his love for my body Opening to receive masculine attention, energy, and love How you can honor a man’s desire and still say no to it (without shaming him!) Why Kelley chose not to touch at all with one of her partner’s of the night (and what she chose to do instead) How Kelley honored her celibacy while still receiving the beauty of the experience The RBDSM conscious sex conversation and how important it is to talk about after care And so much more juiciness! Leave us a Rating and Review!“When you get used to hiding, it just becomes background noise.” —Audra BryantFor 25 years, Audra Bryant couldn’t look at her body in a mirror. The scars of an early childhood accident defined her life, from how she dressed to who she thought she could be.But as she pursued her dream to perform and write songs with lyrics that encouraged others, she recognized an inconsistency in her purpose and her reality. This sent her on a personal quest to “do the mirror work” she realized was missing in her life. Now she’s teaching others to accept their scars and turn them into superpowers.(2:16) A family with some unusual math…(4:39) An accident that shaped a life…(8:05) The first realization that she was “different”(12:27) “Everybody else had on a little tank top. I was the only one with a full long sleeve shirt in the summertime. And so that just became my life.”(14:53) Hidden scars can cause you to ignore your own pain.(18:24) “I didn't look at myself in the mirror until I was 25. I didn't look at my scars.”(20:57) Allowing “scars” to hold us back…(25:48) A revelation at 25…(29:25) What was the draw towards theater and singing?(32:58) “I just did everything covered up. But what happens is, you talked about being an artist, I really feel like a part of being an artist is being vulnerable.”(34:55) Doing the personal work, mentally and physically…(36:49) The power of acceptance…(39:20) We all have experiences where we hold ourselves back…(41:14) “Is it just about the cards that I've been dealt, or is it about how I'm playing my hand?”(44:38) Using challenges as opportunities to educate people…(47:47) Finding support in family, community, and sometimes therapists…(52:42) What are you working on now?(59:45) What does Go Be More mean to you?If you liked this episode, check out our interviews with singers Daniel Ozan and Emme Lentino.Recorded November 11, 2020.References:I've Got Scars Baby! podcast - YouTubeScars by Audra Bryant - YouTube, AmazonI've Got Scars Baby! Welcome back, my friends! I hope you are having a great week, and are ready for a deep episode. Today I wanted to talk about transitions and the fear that comes with these seasons of transitions because I feel like that is what 2020 has been for most of us. It has been a whirlwind of a year with COVID, quarantine, job losses, our community outlets closing, all of these changes add up and ultimately affect our mood, our energy, our overall lives. But the important thing to remember in all of these transitions is that you are in control. YOU, my friend, have all the tools to make the rest of this year what you want it to be. This episode is a little different, I share with you some of the revelations I have had come up for me when I lean into these seasons of transition. I also discuss the regrets that come with transitions, as well as the possibilities that come with taking the chance on that heart tug you have in your gut. OK, seriously ,James is a true visionary in every sense of the word. As a kid, he loved taking things apart to see how they worked, and now he creates massive VR experiences that transport people to a different reality all together. James created The VOID, which is beyond typical VR. Allowing more of your senses to come into play, people put the headset on and are able to walk around, see, smell, hear, and touch a different world. This experience was so mesmerizing that Disney licensed the IP from them. Harrison Ford went in as Harrison Ford and came back out as a kid again. That’s why James keeps creating. He loves to see the joy on people’s faces when they experience the worlds that he’s created. Using his knowledge from The VOID, he created Jump, which allows people to put the headset on and base jump off a mountain with a wing suit! And it feels exceptionally real. The feeling of free-falling, the wind in your face, the smell of the air—it’s all there, while you are completely safe in a virtual world. It was such a pleasure chatting with James and to hear how his understanding of the universe changed as a result of the things he has created. Hope you enjoy the podcast!

In this installment, we discuss: The Next 30 days, Allowing the Media to Determine Our Fate and Recognizing Green Flags. “Hoe” Culture and Viral Moments are also discussed.
Everyone knows that social media is highly edited. Only the best photos make the cut and normally only positive status updates are shared. Displaying overly-perfect images alerts people that it’s just too good to be true. This can cause feelings of distrust, envy or aggression if people feel you are creating separation, which is the opposite of what we should be doing with social media. We should want to create connection because connection helps us reduce stress and anxiety.Allowing real life to be present in social media keeps you and your contacts close. When we share both positive and negative aspects of life online, and everything in between, more realistic relationships can be fostered and maintained. This leads to real closeness and strengthened bonds of friendship and kinship. If we are worried about sharing the negative stuff online, remember that our phones still work and we can give a good friend or family member a call to talk about the touch stuff.Of course, being honest to ourselves is also really important. We are perfect just as we are. Our family is perfect just as they are. There is no reason to present ourselves or our family differently. You and I, and our families, are exactly where we are supposed to be in this moment. We need to let go of the need for perfection. This is the final episode of Season 1. Please feel free to go back and listen to any episodes you may have missed. It would be so helpful if you dropped us a note or review so we know if this podcast is meeting your needs.
