We explore what makes a high-performing team, the difference between individual and collective performance, and a seven-part model for building effective, cohesive, and successful teams.Fiona shares insights from her work in leadership and team coaching, highlighting how individual brilliance does not automatically create a high-performing team. They introduce a seven-part model from Lucy Widdowson that defines the 7 essential elements of effective teamwork, including purpose, identity, relatedness, values and beliefs, awareness, ways of working, and transformation.Through analogies such as football teams and leadership dynamics, they explore common team challenges, from ineffective meetings to the impact of ‘banter' masking deeper issues. They offer practical guidance for leaders to assess and enhance their teams, including using the Johari Window for awareness and revisiting team purpose. To help listeners apply these concepts, Fiona shares a simple questionnaire for evaluating team effectiveness, which can be used individually or in team discussions. Whether leading a team or participating in one, this episode provides essential insights for optimising team performance.Key Discussion Points• Why high-performing individuals don't always create a high-performing team• The seven characteristics of high-performing teams (Lucy Widdowson's model)• Why teams need a clear purpose and shared identity• How leaders can use feedback and awareness tools like the Johari WindowKey Timestamps03:00 – Why a group of ‘superstars' doesn't automatically create a high-performing team05:20 – Classic signs of an ineffective team07:10 – The problem with banter: masking difficult conversations instead of addressing them08:00 – Introducing Lucy Widdowson's seven characteristics of effective teams12:30 – The role of identity in a team and how external perceptions matter17:45 – Why defining team values and behaviours is essential for cohesion22:30 – Practical ways to improve team meetings and decision-making processes28:30 – How leaders can assess their team's effectiveness and identify areas for improvementKey TakeawayHigh-performing teams don't happen by accident. They require clarity of purpose, strong relationships, shared values, and the ability to adapt. Leaders should prioritise team effectiveness over individual achievements and regularly assess team dynamics using structured models and feedback tools.Fiona's Team Effectiveness Questionnaire:Using a simple ratings system, where a score of 1 = not at all and a score of 5 = completely, all the time, answer the following questions:We have a clear instruction and mandate from the wider organisation and those we report toAchieving our team goals is recognised and rewarded above our individual goals, or those of our individual teamsWe have the right selection of necessary, complementary skills within the teamWe can clearly articulate and own our overall purposeWe are working towards shared goals in an effective mannerWe commit to clear actions and with accountability and follow-throughWe have clear and effective ways of working togetherWe maintain a high level of moral and commitment between usWe are fully engaged and involved in meetings. We make good use of our diversity when we meetThe outcomes we reach in meetings are better than any individual could have reached aloneWe leave our meetings feeling more focused, supported and energisedWe have good relationships with all our key stakeholders, and any team member can represent views of the whole teamWe constantly scan our stakeholder environment, and attend to changing needs and perceptionsWe regularly and effectively attend to our own development as a teamWe all give good quality real-time feedback and provide a balance of support and challenge to each otherQuestions based on work by Professor Peter Hawkins.Thank you for tuning in to this episode of The Strategic Leader podcast. We tend to find every reason under the sun to put off aligning our lives with God's ordained purposeWe are even arrogant enough to think we somehow have plenty of time to put our affairs with God in order as if we control timeWe make time to pursue everything we desire.  We build and beautify our homes, showcase our success, boast about the fine cars we want, and driveThe scripture refers to how when we pursue things putting the building of God's temple on the back burn how our thirst is never quenchedThe scriptures speak of with all our clothes we never find warmth I want you to think of the richest person that comes to your mind.  Do you have them in mind?  Now evaluate their existence, they are not free from trouble, drama, headache, addiction, deception, or thieves.  With all their wealth they still are in pursuit of more, bigger, greater, more titles, more awards, and more accolades.  They can afford the finest of wines, but their thirsts are still never quenched. Why?  Because there is nothing that is created by the hands of mand that will ever quench the thirsts of our souls.www.BibleDeliverance.org

Listeners to Sound Judgment know I'm on a quest to unpack how today's best hosts make their magic — and to define the universal skills and qualities of “hostiness.” What makes some hosts stars, while we don't remember the rest? Today, we name and explore the first of these universal skills: #1: Sparkling, Attention-Grabbing IntrosCompelling hosts know how to grab and hold listeners' attention from the very first seconds of an episode. A great intro, also called a "lede," relies on the elements of: — Surprise— Curiosity— Scene setting— For interview and conversation shows, stating your purposeWe explore how three hosts, of two narrative podcasts and one interview show, use these elements in dramatically different ways to create remarkably effective ledes.(Please note: This episode includes the sounds of guns and a brief discussion of some tough topics, including suicide, during my exploration of Stephanie Wittels Wachs' lede into the Last Day episode, “A Love Story.” The third season of Last Day is about guns. If you're a host or producer thinking about the tenth anniversary of the Sandy Hook school shooting yesterday, and how to report movingly and sensitively about guns, Last Day is a model of how to do this beautifully and ethically.)  The episode(s) discussed on today's Sound Judgment:Last Day, A Love Story, from Sound Judgment Ep. 1, “Emotional Bravery on Last Day with Stephanie Wittels Wachs”Crime Show, Paging Dr. Barnes, from Sound Judgment Ep. 4, “Cinematic Storytelling with Crime Show's Emma Courtland.” What Should I Read Next, Ep 350: “Book mail keeps us together” and Ep 351 “Book Club Favorites: LIVE from Bookmarks!”, from Sound Judgment Ep. 7, “Secrets of Hosting Live and In-Studio with the Queen of Book Podcasts, Anne Bogel.” Subscribe to Sound Judgment, the Newsletter, our twice-monthly newsletter about creative choices in audio storytelling. Here's a unique, last-minute gift idea for you or the podcast host in your life!Make sure you're doing everything you can to hook your listener with a personalized Hook-Your-Listener Audit. OverwhelmWhen inundated with too many demands on your time and energy, it can become impossible to think clearly and act with purposeWe often experience overwhelm when too much is happening that feels outside of our control. Life throws way too many curve balls at once, triggering fear and inducing a stress response in the body and mind.Sometimes the body overreacts. The body's stress response is the same whether we are in physical danger or not.Once we understand the science of what happens in the body when we are stressed, we can take back control and learn how to overcome overwhelm. Knowing how overwhelm affects the body will help you recognize when it's happening and release the stress in a healthy way. What happens in the bodyAt the moment of stress, the sympathetic chain ganglia in the middle of your body activates. Your body releases acetylcholine, a chemical that normally helps move muscles. Other neurons respond to that reaction by releasing adrenaline (or epinephrine). That epinephrine activates specific parts of the body needed to respond to stressful situations, like speeding up the heart to support movement (like escaping from a bear or lion). The body focuses extra energy on the systems needed to escape danger. At the same time, other systems take a back seat until you are safe, like digestion. That's why you may lose your appetite before a big exam or important meeting. The stress response tells your body to “do something!” or “say something!” It pushes you into action, a sense of agitation that makes you want to move. When your body goes into stress mode, you need to learn to work with it—not against itWhat to do1. Calm the nervous system with a physiological sighCalm your nervous system. Take a deep breath and trick it with a sigh. When you do so you free up more brain space for creativity in deciding what to do next.2. Practice regular self-care for long-term resilienceFollow these healthy habits to cope with stress better:Get enough sleep: Doctors recommend ~8 hours per nightEat a well-balanced, nutritious diet: Include stress relieving foods like fish, poultry, fruits, vegetables, fruits, whole grains, and healthy fatsExercise regularly: Harvard Health says exercise reduces stress hormonesDrink water: Even mild dehydration can impair brain function, according to studies3. Use the 80-20 rule to eliminate sources of stressNow, let's apply the Pareto Principle. Say you have 10 items that you wrote down. Apply the 80/20 rule by choosing two critical areas to focus on. When you commit and make a plan to solve 20% of the major sources of your stress, you'll experience a sense of relief. At the same time, you'll get a boost of confidence in your ability to handle the remaining 80%. It can be difficult to decide which items to prioritize first. If you can't decide, try closing your eyes, taking a few deep breaths, and listening to your intuition about what would help you the most.Or just pick one at random and get to work!4. Coming to you from Whidbey Island, Washington this is Stories From Women Who Walk. You'll recognize yourself in these true-life stories of adversity, challenge, fear, discovery, adventure, expression, and more from women who are walking their lives while their lives walk them and the lasting difference their journeys have made. I'm your host, Diane Wyzga.  Welcome back to Part 2 of the podcast interview with my guest, Leanne Gordon, founder of the consulting practice Changing Futures, the author of the newly published book, Change Seekers - making a difference, and co-author of The Book of Java: Together We Write, who joined us from Perth, Australia. I invited Leanne to talk with us about the unexpected changes Life created for her as she changes futures for others, claiming her Page as a writer and author, challenging herself on a long distance trek, and walking her life with guidelines instead of rules. We were talking about Leanne's consulting practice, Changing Futures when I asked Leanne: “What's important to know about uncertainty and change in the workplace?” Let's hear what she has to say about this, writing and publishing a book, and so much more on all things Change.      Minutes     37:2200:00 to 2:12      Intro    2:12 to 8:28      Consulting Practice: Changing FuturesI understand that you help people and businesses navigate uncertainty, embed change into the way they work and live so that there are meaningful work cultures that can be created, work and workplaces can be made more human. What's important to know about uncertainty and change being embedded in the workplace?COVID has been a shock to the world in terms of work and its place in our livesThis is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for those who have lived and breathed the concept of workPre-COVID Leanne has always argued that uncertainty and change is part and parcel of who we areLeanne specializes in change as a result of her own entire working life (and personal life)Nothing is certain; life is not in our controlThe last 18 months has amplified the basic concept that the world and the world of work is uncertainLeanne would argue that there are some levels of certainty (the sun is expected to rise) but overall not in the way we can control it or know itCOVID has handed us layers of changePeople have told themselves this fairy tale and now are finding out that the story (we can control things) is wrongPeople really do need assistance to navigate their way through next and not feel the fearAny step we take to the new is feeling fearful, uncomfortableLeanne is abnormal in feeling comfortable with change spaceYou can control what you do, your actions, your questions; but not others or what might happen; otherwise, the anxiety and worry is wastedWait, be patient, see the lay of the land, and then decide how to move and changeIt's an interesting time to the extent of how we will do even the everyday thingsWhat we've taken for granted cannot be anymore - Leanne  recognizing the impact of all of that on people8:28 to 12:08     Meaningful Workplace CultureQ: Given all that you've mentioned, the fear uncertainty, COVID, because we have a chance to begin anew, what makes a meaningful workplace culture? And how does one create it?Creating it is creating it togetherMyth: some one person or senior team in an organization has the big idea and puts that out and people will follow suit is falseThe reality is that in all workplaces, over all time people have their own thoughts, their own ideas, so it must be created togetherThe culture the leaders are creating versus the culture they actually have in the organizationThe culture (what we do) is there already in our actions every dayThe way to create something different is to come together, collaborateWhat is meaningful? Meaningful is different for different peopleFundamentally we need to be working for a purposeWe need to be working for something that means something to us, that is allowing us to achieve, have a sense of achievement, being part of something, connectedness, collectiveOrganizations with success will see collaboration, flow, energy, excitement, satisfaction, and vision which make for meaning in our lives and in the workspaceThis is meaning in the workplaceOtherwise, people find meaning in other parts of their lives12:08 to 16:13     Change Seekers - making a differenceQ: So it's no accident that you recently published a book called Change Seekers - Making a Difference. If we were to look back on this conversation there is almost a yellow brick road leading through our conversation to this book. Would you tell us about what gave rise to the idea of a book like this? And what was it like to write it?For Leanne to let go of the idea that was THE BOOK and flipped to the idea that this would be A Book or the First BookNo longer necessary to take every single idea she ever had and put it in one placeThis doesn't need to be A Book for the AgesAll Leanne's expectations evaporated and began to write a bookLeanne has lots of ideas and many years and many books to be writtenLet's write the first one, see what's involved, and put it out into the worldWhether this first go is brilliant or not isn't the point; it is so exciting to have a published bookWriting the book was great to do it in communityA key to discover the joy of writing with others on similar missionLeanne's goal was to publish on time and it got done! Not the book Leanne envisioned as “the real book” but is a collection of her thoughts she hopes will resonate with others who are making things happen16:13 to 23:45     Change Seekers AttributesQ: You say, “If you are the type of person who has ideas for change, can see things differently and where improvements can be made, you are a change seeker. This book is for you.” Do change seekers have certain attributes? And, if so, what might those be?A change seeker does have certain attributesLeanne's book is a “find the others” bookChange seeker is much like Leanne was (prior to becoming a solopreneur) working within organization, knowing things could be better and wanting to do something to make changeIt's often a lonely place; feel like being the only one or one of a fewIf you are the one who says, What about this? Or what if we were to do that?  Have we thought about XLeanne's book speaks to those folks: question askers, why, when, how, always seeing things differently, curious, pulling ideas and thoughts from different directions, disciplines, synthesizing all of it to be betterChange Seekers seeing what is possible and what is differentIf you see yourself in these pages: Don't give up - there is hope - there is many a way of persisting, asking questions, making change in the workplaceA lasting legacy of change takes patience, calmness, persistence, a quiet confidence that you will get thereSome of Leanne's biggest satisfactions are being surprised that the “unchangeable” person changed! The acceptance of a different way, a better wayLeanne wrote her book to help give people confidenceQ: This book isn't a how-to or a self-help book. It is a find-yourself and find-the-others book. Which takes us right back to you sense of community which is where we were talking earlier on with the Akimbo and altMBA to Book of Java experiences. What do you hope will come about because your words are out in the world?  Leanne would like to know that her book helped one person to have the confidence to back themselves, to give themselves permission to do something they might have not done or held back  This book is a collection of little words that will stick forever; that would be happyWhat would make her ecstatic: the book becomes an opportunity to organize as change-seekers, find the others, provide community in the organizational lonely places, gain strength23:45 to 28:45     CAPE TO CAPE TREK: Zero2HeroQ: On this theme of “stronger together” you recently took part in a fund raiser to bring awareness to and support suicide prevention, mental health and well-being called The Cape to Cape Trek - Zero2Hero. As a walker I love the experience of walking, what was the experience of walking 135 KM (almost 85 miles) for you?Leanne is proponent of step out of comfort zone, take the first step, do something different no matter how small (walk a different pathway, wear a different color, etc. )Signing up for this Trek was a big jump out of comfort zoneLeanne had been unwell in 2018 and lost confidence in own physical capabilities; was concerned could not do the distance  Leanne knew she would enjoy the purposeful-ness and community and for a causeSigned up and then Life got in the way of trainingLeanne was concerned about being able to finish because she didn't train as she had plannedThen away we went! The fear dissipated as soon as Leanne began walking; she had more strength, capability and resilience than she had given herself credit forThe story Leanne told herself was no trueFully enjoyed the experience of being away, out in nature the entire day daylight to darkClimbed hills and sandy dunes and moreDay-by-day proving to yourself that when you want to do something you can and you shouldPhysical challenge, mental challenge - you can do it - because you can and you should28:45 to 32:39     Living  Life With Guidelines  Instead of RulesQ: As we sit here today how has walking Life with guidelines vs rules shifted your world view? For Leanne definitely connects the dots looking back on themLeanne thought she was more rule-based than actually isCarried her Inner Rebel and Inner Questioner along the way Questioned: is it a hard and fast rule? Is it somebody else's story, made up rule?In a very compliant and traditional way has followed rules but more of a confident question-er, curious, what if, how comeConstant questioning is the way Leanne roles  Leanne having children saw her qualities in them and thought Ah ha! That's what other people see in meLeanne decided that it's okay to take a left turn here and it will work outYou don't 'feel lost' is the keyI think I'm headed North and since I want to go North I'll be okay with the overviewWe'll get thereHost: There's a great deal of confidence in your statement: Somehow or other we will get there whether we're being flown or flying ourselves  32:39 to 37:22     LegacyQ: One last question of you: What would you like to see happen in the world as a result of your work as we sit here today? We have work spaces that respect and treat everybody as humans and in Leanne's lifetime  Would like to know many people are change-seekers to whom Leanne can pass along her batons, knowing her work will continueIf we come back to this: work is a human endeavor and we are all about humans doing that work it will be a better place for all of usAll about the humans, about the humans, no ‘bots. Before I say thank you to you, Leanne I want to mention that all social media links and connections to Leanne Gordon and her work Changing Futures, as well as her book, Change Seekers - making a difference, and a link to Zero2Hero if you're interested in donating to the 2022 trek will be posted in the Episode Notes. Intro: Solomon wrote under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit that there is nothing new under the sun: He said it this way, 9 What has been will be again,          what has been done will be done again;         there is nothing new under the sun.The New International Version (Grand Rapids, MI: Zondervan, 2011), Ec 1:9. In this passage, Paul faced the same kind of religious idolatry, cultural, and political pressures which are present in our context today.  Let's take a look at Athens during Paul's stay there. It was in economic, political, religious decline. Even at that, it was still of some  influence in the known world at that time. The people in Athens were interest in philosophies and debating "new" ideas. In fact, many men of the time would spend their days debating and arguing philosophies and new ideas. So when Paul started preaching and teaching in the synagogue and in the market place, word traveled fast about this man who came with a new idea. There were many religious idols in the city and an alter to "The Unknown God". Also, there were two pagan groups that were present and influential in Athens; The Epicureans, and the Stoics. The Epicureans believed solely in the pursuit of pleasure and were atheist's. The Epicureans were consumed with going after pleasure and very fine foods. They sought truth only by experience and feelings, not reason. The Stoics believed there was a "World God". They believed that God inhabited matter e.g. pantheism. Pleasure was not good and pain wasn't evil, but reason was the guiding principle so they would be unmoved by feelings. Do we see some of the same issues in our context today? Paul Reveals the Real God that Could Be KnownGod is the CreatorHe made the world and everything in itHe is the Lord of heaven and earthGod is self-sufficientGod isn't confined to a building of inanimate object e.g. idolsGod is the giver of lifePhysicalSpiritualAll the human race comes from AdamGod is sovereign over historyGod marked our appointed time in historyGod marked out the boundaries of their landsGod makes Himself knownSo that all nations might seek Him, reach out for Him and find HimGod is never far away from usGod sustains us and give us purposeWe are all born in His imageIdols are dead and powerlessGod is a God of GraceGod provided His Son for our forgiveness and salvationGod now commands that all people everywhere repentThere is coming a day of judgement by the man He appointed, The Lord Jesus ChristThe proof the Jesus is fully God and fully man and our Savior is the resurrectionJesus, God in the flesh, rose from the grave and conquered sin, Satan, and deathThe Gospel Needs a R.S.V.PWe some heard about the resurrection, then surged it off as non-senseOthers wanted to hear more on the subjectSome people believedDionysius, a member of the Areopagus, and a women named Damaris, and a number of othersClosing:How we respond to the gospel is the most important decision we will ever make. I was born and raised in the same apartment that I still live in today in New York City. My whole life I wanted to prevent endangered species from going extinct. I got my Bachelors in Pre-Veterinary Medicine but switched courses to pursue my Masters in Conservation Biology after spending a month in the neotropical rainforests of Belize as a field technician on a project that studies jaguars, pumas, and ocelots. I’m currently on the road to be a wildlife biologist and still figuring out which animal I want to focus my conservation work on but am mainly interested in primates and wild cats and working in people-animal conflict research. I am fascinated with the universe around us & have always felt drawn to the moon. I grew up drawing fairies and creatures from The Spiderwick Chronicles and believed in impossible things. I am an only child so drawing was always something I got lost in, creating a world of my own. My mother is an artist and always encouraged me to never stop creating. I created Living Luna with the goal to make people feel good about themselves again, while also finding a way to give back to a global cause. When giving back, I wanted to target three foundations that support our existence: humanity, the environment, and animals. By giving back to the three essences of life that make up our little blue planet, you're helping to make this world a better place. My favorite part about my job is that I get to connect with others and have my art in the homes of people halfway across the world. Thank you for being a part of my journey.

When today's guest came bounding through the doors of the supernova sound recording studios here in Surry Hills I somehow knew that I had landed on a date with destiny. Or shall I say a double date with both Wonder and Wander. Why? Because I knew a soul sister had just walked in.To Clarify….todays is a guest is all of things you want from a business podcast. A respected thought leader, an entrepreneur, a strategic leader, an innovators and a person whose black book features the names of some of the most revered entrepreneurs, speakers and authors all over the world.Yet at the same time….she has boldly stepped out of the spiritual closet. She’s not ashamed of crystal infused call outs to the universe as a way of manifesting magic in business. She does not silence her magic nor quieten her sage….and that I freaking LOVE because today that is exactly what this world needs to change, to shift and to evolve in this great turning point. Her name…..Sarah Nally otherwise known as the woman of wonder. Some of you would know Sarah as the Co-founder of Australia’s most innovative event series ‘Wired for Wonder’ for CommBank, Tropical Biz Retreat ‘Nurture Her’, online shoe business ‘Sienna Baby’, creative consultancy ‘Wonder and Wander’. At the heart of her journey as both an intrepreneur (working within corporate organisations) and an entrepreneur is the idea that we walk with purpose, while shots of awe light fireworks from our eyes. She is a firm believer in the ‘Wonder Mindset’ and assists CEOS and entrepreneurs to step into their power and into the work required to ignite their highest potential.Sarah is also a queen of intuitive and human centric innovation….in particular design thinking - and in our chat we even looked how we can use design thinking to decode purpose. Now that was fun! While on the subject of design thinking and innovation at the time recording this podcast Sarah had just accepted a brand new role as the Head of Communications and Change at National Australia Bank. I can't wait to see how this role evolves when charged with a wonder rocket like Sarah. Some of the touch points we covered off today include:How people can break through with wild ideas and find their purpose without leaving their corporate jobs - and why that is exactly what you should do.We decoded the connection between wonder and purposeWe looked at why the most powerful thought leaders influencer with purpose. We looked at the intersection between our spiritual lives and our working lives. The purpose of parenting and to add a little dash sparkle we unlocked why your glitter never needs to be litter. So without further delay, kick back, add a dash of glitter to your beverage….but I know that is a podcast that is going to make you sparkle. I am so excited to be introducing the queen of all of things wonder - Sarah Nally.

Our guest for this week is Mira Kelley, a consciousness architect, master healer, author, international speaker, and a past life regressionist. About MiraMira discovered her passion for past life regressions when she was only 13 years old. The peak experience that she felt that day really stuck with her. Years later, she found herself dealing with a chronic TMJ condition and a pain that she desperately needed to get rid of. The traditional medical approach to resolving this issue was incredibly invasive, so she decided to give past regression therapy a chance and in only two sessions - her pain was completely gone! Her personal experience of regression therapy led her to a path of becoming a master healer herself. She has worked with hundreds of thousands of people from all over the world, individually and through her many programs, products, and workshops, to help them clear their emotional and physical problems, to let go of the past and to create their best lives now.Her work has been prominently featured in the New York Times best-selling books of Dr. Wayne Dyer, Dr. Brian Weiss, Anita Moorjani and Cathy Byrd. Mira also has a prominent international speaking career that took her to stages all over the world and she also taught workshops that empower people to reach their goals and to live lives they are in love with. She is the author of the internationally best-selling and best-loved book ‘Beyond Past Lives’. In the book, Mira shares the life-changing lessons she learned from her clients in order to help you discover support and understanding while also empowering you in your own growth. ‘Beyond Past Lives’ has been translated into 18 languages! For this week’s episode, Mira prepared a special treat for the Inspired Evolution tribe - a free 20-minute meditation on self-love and trust. But she quickly realized there was potential for taking things a step further and introduced her own expertise into the equation which allows her to “redesign people’s consciousness”. She shares her experiences and explains why this approach has a lot more to offer to her clients.“That’s really what liberates us. That’s really what allows the path to unfold and to move their life in a way they want it to be.” - Mira KelleyThe Human Tendency Towards Creating NarrativesIn this section, we discuss the origin and the benefits of our tendency to think about life in stories.“Stories are really a very beautiful way for us to connect with the understanding, with the lessons, release, emotions… We are truly story-based with everything. We explain our life away that way, we dream of the future in stories…” - Mira KelleyThe Question of PurposeWe’ve approached the question of purpose on our podcast so many times, but it seems like we’ll never run out of interesting and unique perspectives. Such is the case with Mira’s approach where she offers a two-layered answer to the conundrum.“When people say to me, ‘What is my purpose?’, I give thin this two-layered answer… The first layer of this answer is really - the purpose is to be you… With all your glory, with all your talents,... Truly - you! When it gets a little more specific that’s the second level of the answer. Our purpose is to be here for us to be ourselves so that we can, in the being of ourselves and the use of our gifts and talents, in the fulfillment of our value… to learn how to handle your thoughts and emotions. In other words, to learn how to handle this creative power within us.” - Mira KelleyHow to Discover Your PurposeFrom the question of “What is my purpose?” we continue to go deeper in order to provide an answer for “How can I discover my purpose?” and Mira reveals an insightful approach.“My suggestion is, very simply, go right where it’s easy. Because your purpose is you… The expression of you. So this is not about something that is hard, this is not something that you have to deserve. This is already in you! You already know what people appreciate you for. You already know what comes easy for you.” - Mira KelleyThe 3 Steps to Living Your PurposeWe’ve already set the stage in the previous section and now Mira drives the discussion home with her 3-step approach to living your purpose!1 - Discover What Excites You“It starts by saying what speaks to me, right here, in this moment… What feeds my soul, what do I have the opportunity to engage in that really is the highest excitement in this moment.” - Mira Kelley2 - Do It to the Best Of Your Ability“It’s very important to do what excites you without holding back. Without any expectations… Truly do it to the best of your ability.” - Mira Kelley3 - Do It Without Expectation“Don’t worry how - it’s going to get to it, wherever you want to go.” - Mira KelleyThe Purpose of SufferingWe also touch on the subject of suffering quite a bit and here you can see the positivity in Mira’s philosophy - in the notion that we do not need bad in order to create something good. Without denying the value of suffering, Mira believes that it is not the only way for us to become better souls.“We don’t really need to have a breakdown to have a breakthrough. Obviously, our biggest challenge becomes our greatest lesson but I don’t really subscribe to the theory that we are here to learn from suffering… I honestly believe that the purpose of suffering is to teach us how not to suffer.” - Mira KelleyMira’s Message of Inspired EvolutionThis has truly been a lovely masterclass on purpose! I love Mira’s positive energy and how she manages to bring us back always to the things that are the most simple and natural to us. It’s just one of those episodes you can listen to several times over. I’m grateful that she shared her wisdom so selflessly with us tonight and for this message of Inspired evolution, I’d like to once again underline her guiding principles for how to live your purpose.
