Today's podcast is one of those conversations that stretched my ability to keep up with my interviewee to the limit. Andrew Johnston is the Global Head of Insurtech at Gallagher Re and has been at the forefront of understanding and chronicling the Insurtech phenomenon since it emerged over ten years ago. Gallagher Re's quarterly reports on the topic have been required reading over the past decade for anyone wanting to understand the intersection between insurance and technology. In that period Digital disruption, Blockchain, Parametric and Embedded insurance are themes that have come to the fore. Now AI is the dominant force, so much so that Insurtech and AI are now effectively synonymous. Gallagher Re's latest quarterly Insurtech report is one of the best pieces of research into AI and insurance that I have read. It goes way beyond AI-related Insurtech investment opportunities and digs right into the profound risk implications of AI as an emerging casualty peril in its own right. Andrew is a dream guest, incredibly sharp, bright and fun to spend time with. He's that rare kind of person who makes you feel more intelligent for having spent time chatting to them. Listening back there are points in the conversation where whole new avenues of questioning were opening up that I failed to explore. But that's the mark of a strong interview. It always leaves you wanting more. It's a bit like when you wake up the morning after a big debate or argument with terrible pangs of regret that you failed to ask the killer question in the heat of the moment. The developments in AI are moving so fast that I feel certain it won't be long before I have Andrew back on the show to help put everything into context for us. But until then this is the next best thing. What does it truly mean to be accountable as a business leader, and why does it matter now more than ever?In this episode of The Conscious Capitalists, hosts Timothy Henry and Raj Sisodia sit down with Kate Adams, Chief Impact Officer at Conscious Capitalism, Inc. and author of Accountability Under Fire, for a thoughtful exploration of one of the most pressing challenges facing modern leadership. As organizations navigate increasing scrutiny from employees, customers, investors, and the public, accountability has become more than a values-based aspiration. It is now a critical business imperative. Drawing from her new book and decades of experience advising leaders across the business, nonprofit, and social impact sectors, Kate shares a practical framework for understanding what accountability looks like in action and why so many organizations struggle to achieve it.Throughout the conversation, Kate introduces her Accountability Ladder, a model that helps leaders assess where their organizations stand and what it takes to build accountability into the culture and decision-making process. Together, Timothy, Raj, and Kate explore the challenges of balancing competing stakeholder interests, the relationship between accountability and conscious leadership, and why creating win-win-win outcomes often requires far more creativity than leaders realize. The discussion also examines the role of boards and CEOs in shaping accountability, the importance of organizational trust, and how leaders can respond when mistakes inevitably occur. From corporate apologies and political engagement to emerging technologies such as AI and blockchain, this episode offers a timely look at how accountability is evolving in an increasingly transparent world.Listeners will gain insights into:The difference between accountability, responsibility, and traditional CSR initiativesHow to identify and prioritize the stakeholders most affected by your decisionsThe five stages of organizational accountability and what separates reactive companies from truly accountable onesWhy creating win-win-win outcomes is often harder than it soundsHow board and CEO alignment can strengthen or undermine accountability effortsHow AI and emerging technologies are changing the way organizations measure and manage impactThe connection between accountability, conscious leadership, and long-term organizational healthAnd more!Whether you're leading a company, serving on a board, or seeking to build a more values-driven organization, this episode offers practical wisdom on how accountability can become a source of trust, resilience, and sustainable success. If you enjoy this podcast, would you consider leaving a review on Apple Podcasts or Spotify? For episode 253 of the Crypto Altruists podcast, we're excited to welcome Maksym Zalevskyi , Founder of GEN Ukraine, the Ukrainian branch of the Global Ecovillage Network. GEN Ukraine is a grassroots network of over 60 ecovillages, family farms, and intentional communities across the country. Since Russia's full-scale invasion in 2022, these communities have become sanctuaries for displaced families, solidarity centers, and hubs for ecological regeneration. What makes this story particularly interesting for our audience is how Web3 fits in. GEN Ukraine has built partnerships with projects like Arkreen for solar energy tracking, Silvi and Regen Network for tree planting and land regeneration, and the Sarafu Network for commitment pooling. They've developed an Eco Impact Dashboard that tracks all of this work transparently, so you can see the impact in real time. It's a powerful example of what community-led, blockchain-enabled resilience can look like, on the ground, in some of the most challenging environments. In today's discussion you'll learn:

I sat down live at Consensus Miami with William, ex-co-founder of Tether and WAX, to get his unfiltered take on where tokenization is actually heading. We dig into why stablecoins became the killer app, what's been holding back tokenized gold and real estate, and why the regulatory dam is about to break. William shares a fascinating perspective on AI in crypto, why blockchain is "the worst way to do almost anything" but has no equal for a narrow set of use cases, and why 30,000 suits showing up to a Bitcoin conference signals something has fundamentally shifted. If you want a grounded, no-hype view of what the next two years looks like for tokenization and institutional adoption, this episode delivers. Disclaimer:Nothing mentioned in this podcast is investment advice and please do your own research. It would mean a lot if you can leave a review of this podcast on Apple Podcasts or Spotify and share this podcast with a friend. Be a guest on the podcast or contact us - https://www.web3pod.xyz/ Key Points with Timestamps• [00:01:00] Tokenization is no longer a promise — Wall Street is actively moving toward it to eliminate legacy settlement friction and verify asset authenticity instantly• [00:02:30] Tokenized assets unlock DeFi use cases like lending and collateral, making tokenization a core building block for decentralized finance• [00:03:30] AI in crypto is less revolutionary than hyped — it's part of a long-term automation trend that has been underway for over a decade• [00:04:30] Stablecoins remain the gold standard of tokenization; tokenizing fiat currency is still the best blockchain use case by far• [00:06:00] The main hurdle to tokenizing gold, stocks, and real estate has been hostile US regulatory policy — not technology• [00:06:30] The CLARITY Act could be the regulatory catalyst that triggers a rapid rollout of tokenized assets across traditional finance• [00:09:00] Blockchain is the worst way to do almost anything, but for a narrow set of things — stablecoins, cross-border payments, tokenized assets — it has no equal• [00:10:30] The crypto conference crowd has flipped from artists and experimenters to 30,000 people in suits, signalling deep institutional integration• [00:12:30] Beyond finance, blockchain has real utility in tamper-proof documentation — national IDs, government records, title insurance, and notarisation could all be disrupted• [00:16:00] In two years, expect tokenization to expand across stocks, bonds, and any traded asset, driving greater liquidity and near-instant settlement

Patrick went from studying political science in Germany and France to becoming a crypto tokenomics advisor, and now co-founder of Ampli, a company building the security infrastructure for AI agents that manage money. We got into why blockchain was essentially built for AI before AI even existed, how Ampli's Agent Control Room lets fund managers discover, deploy, and control agents without ever handing over the keys, and why 90% of crypto exploits last year came down to human error rather than smart contract bugs. We also talked about the future of stablecoins as geopolitical tools, why DeFi is bottoming out like the post-dotcom era before a decade-long bull run, and what a world looks like where every phone has a personal banker inside it. This is one of those conversations packed with insight for founders, fund managers, and anyone paying attention to where finance is actually heading. Disclaimer:Nothing mentioned in this podcast is investment advice and please do your own research. Dr. Stephen Seiler - You're not Pogacar, don't train like him. Breathing, Polarized Training, Joy, & High Performance

Dr. Stephen Seiler coined the term polarized training and systematized the 80/20 method used by Tadej Pogacar, Kristian Blummenfelt, and the world's top endurance athletes.  — From the New York Times to the podcasts of Andrew Huberman, Peter Attia, and Rhonda Patrick, Dr. Seiler's polarized training method and zone 2 and vo2 max protocols have become an often misinterpreted cultural obsession. — I'm on the Fast Talk Labs advisory board with Stephen and I thought it would be fun to hear directly from Stephen how he thinks about polarized training, its application for masters athletes versus World Tour riders Pog, to hear more about Stephen's emergent research into the relationship between breathing, training zones, and its application in real life. — This episode was recorded before I learned I had cancer. I just completed round two of chemo for b-cell lymphoma. Thanks to everyone for your support and positivity as I move towards being cured. I'm sharing about my experience @hardwaypod and on the Choose the Hard Way substack, and I'll be doing an episode about it soon as well. — A heads up, part 2 of this interview coming soon. I often have people who haven't been racing bikes and running their entire life reach out to me who have heard something Huberman said or read Attia's book Outlive asking for advice about how to do zone 2 and vo2 max workouts, aka polarized training. — For part 2, I invite Seiler and one of these athletes on the show to do a live case study and analysis. — Please hit five stars and subscribe to Choose the Hard Way everywhere you listen. — To support this work, become a paid subscriber to the Choose the Hard Way substack, link @hardwaypod on Instagram, in the show notes, and you can go direct at __https://alwaysthehardway.substack.com__. — That's where I share my thoughts about these episodes, my cancer journey, family, bike racing, zen, and life. — With over $1 trillion in transactions to date, Blockchain.com is your trusted partner on your crypto journey. Go to Blockchain.com to get started today no experience required. — Lauf is the Apple of bike design and they make elegant products that just work better than everything else.
