I am currently the co-founder of Robyn Laurél Haircare Products, a Certified Cosmetologist Educator, 8 years as a salon owner, and 6 years as an educator.  I love doing hair just as much as I love teaching, so merging the two passions was definitely a no brainer.  The goal is to bring unity to a diversified beauty industry.    Angelica's Mission My mission is to help you run your business and not let it run you.  Step into a CEO entrepreneurial game, and create the FINANCIAL FREEDOM for yourself. I have spent many years studying the Law of Attraction, Law of Vibration, the conscious and subconscious mind, along with Neuroscience, Epigenetics, EFT (emotional freedom technique), and Energetics of Human Beings.   We have the power to change our brain. I took a deep dive into neuroscience when I experienced a brain bleed. The plasticity of the brain is why I can walk and write again. Through reinforcement of tasks and thoughts, I created new neural pathways. This same theory that works with the plasticity of the brain is the foundation of the Soulify Method, which has helped many women make incredible transformations within their relationships, wealth and well-being. I teach women how to become aligned and connected with their true self.   Once in alignment, they learn how to 100% trust their inner knowing, release old beliefs and stuck emotions. When the ingrained beliefs and unwanted emotions are out of the way, they instinctually take action and make decisions based on their intuition without fear and doubt. The result- they 100% manifest the relationships, wealth and well-being that they have always wanted into their lives. It was unbelievable! Literally, they create the life they dreamed of. It feels like magic (but it is rooted in science). Their desires start coming effortlessly, with such ease and flow once the blocks are out of the way.   And here I am ready to give you the powerful and profound tools to 100% shift your life & bring your wildest dreams to reality using the POWER of hypno-journeying. It's all about conscious living making the decision of what you want your relationship to look and feel like down the road. It's so easy to get wrapped up in parenthood and forget who you are, today we talk about how to avoid that and find the balance in parenting.   Who Is Miranda Clark: I am a mental health therapist, working primarily with couples.  My favorite couples are those who are new/expectant parents and navigating the relationship changes that occur once a baby is brought home.  I am a Bringing Baby Home, and 7 Principles educator from the Gottman institute and have been in private practice in the state of Oregon for over 10 years.  I live with my husband of almost 17 years, and together have two daughters aged 8 and 5. When I'm not working, I'm carting kiddos to and from soccer while also squeezing in as many camping trips as possible :)   In this episode we are talking about maternal therapy and it's importance not just for you but for your entire family because when mom is happy, everyone is happy. Motherhood does not mean sacrifice, it means embracing your new meaning of a caregiver, a love giver and a joy giver. It all starts with you and you are your priority.   About Kate Kripke:   Motherhood is one of the most profound human experiences—miraculous and life-changing. It gives some a renewed sense of purpose while leaving others feeling anxious and confused. As a mom, I've experienced both.    I've dedicated my life's work to helping women navigate the challenges that motherhood invariably brings. I coach mothers of all ages across the continuum of circumstances and stages of motherhood. I use my personal experience for perspective and my extensive training and real world practice to help mothers establish and maintain habits in self care that result in happy, healthy families.  My approach is solution focused, positive, and geared at helping you to uncover the deep knowledge and wisdom that you already possess.    I believe that every individual is his, her or their own expert. My work is centred around empowering women to tap into their inner expertise so they can thrive. We know through decades of research that healthy relationships and attachments with children starts with healthy parents. And that children in healthy attachments with their parents are more likely to thrive themselves.   Kristi Nellor is a reinvention strategist, empowerment and mindset coach, artist, maker, designer, and creativity catalyst for companies, teams and individuals looking to transform their impact, messaging, mindsets, and lives. Even though postpartum anxiety is common and carries less stigma than it once did, things escalate to a whole new level when a birth defect diagnosis enters the mix. The stress and anxiety of a mother, father, and caregivers are compounded when new parenthood involves caring for a baby with special needs, and these parents feel more alone than ever. My guest today shares her story to let other parents know they are not alone in their struggles. There is hope, there is help, and there are resources! Join us to learn more! Robin Giesen is a certified perinatal mental health therapist who experienced postpartum anxiety herself. That anxiety was further compounded by the news that her son had a rare birth defect. Robin explains what craniosynostosis is, and how her son's condition impacted her anxiety. After that totally unexpected diagnosis with her firstborn, her second pregnancy brought the same diagnosis to her second son while in utero. She explains how she coped and why she is invested in helping other parents who are going through similar circumstances. Robin is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Long Beach, CA. She is certified in perinatal mental health, leads a postpartum anxiety group at her practice, and is a Bringing Baby Home educator. Robin opens our eyes to the rarely-talked-about situation of how a birth defect and caring for a special needs child impact a mother's mental health.  Show Highlights: How Robin's well-controlled autoimmune disorder brought her worry and anxiety as she experienced her first pregnancy almost 11 years ago How an emergency C-section and a NICU stay complicated what she thought would be a normal labor and delivery How Robin began thinking that some harm would come to her baby if he wasn't right beside her Why Robin started taking medication to “take the edge off” of her anxiety and intrusive thoughts How Robin noticed something strange about the shape of her son's head, saw a pediatric eye doctor, and received the diagnosis of craniosynostosis Robin explains craniosynostosis and its impacts How Robin went through the unimaginable scenario of neurosurgery for her newborn son Why Robin felt guilt over her son's diagnosis and anxiety in preparing for his surgery Why Robin is adamant with her clients today about coregulation and how it begins How Robin's second pregnancy (through IVF) revealed that her unborn son also had craniosynostosis  How her second son was delivered via planned C-section with a totally different outcome—and no anxiety for Robin even though she faced another surgery for her baby Why Robin realizes that she should have done more than talk therapy after her first son's birth How Robin helps support other moms facing similar situations with their children Resources: Find resources for craniosynostosis and other cranial issues:  Cranio Care Bears and Faces Connect with Robin:  Website, Facebook, and Instagram Visit www.postpartum.net for resources! Welcome back after our break and I hope you enjoyed the last few weeks and maybe even used that time to check out some of our older episodes that always stay relevant for families! This week, we're back and talking about the transition to parenthood. In the transition to parenthood, many of us realize that who we are is going to fundamentally change. We don't know how, we don't know how we're going to cope with it, but we expect a change. What we don't often think about is the effect on our relationship if we happen to be entering parenthood as a team. How we relate to our partner can shift fundamentally and often the first few years post-parenthood is a tumultuous time for couples and results in a higher than usual rate of separation. Why does this happen? What can couples do to help prevent this and stay together? Joining me this week is Nora Wright, couples therapist and founder of The Family Hive where she teaches Gottman's Bringing Baby Home program to help parents adapt to the transition to parenthood without wanting to kill each other. If you feel that your relationship has suffered or you're anticipating a new arrival and worried about how that will change the dynamic of your relationship, don't fret - things can always change. Letter from the trenchesDear Couples,The quest for strong, healthy and meaningful couples relationships continues today with our 3rd episode of this mini series, where we look at how best to prepare and solidify your couples relationship when your new baby is about to, or has recently arrived on the scene! When you announce to family and friends the exciting news that you're expecting, you're likely to hear things like, “I have so many hand me downs you can have!” or, “that's so fun! Make sure you invest in the best stroller - you won't regret it”, or “that's incredible! I can't wait to host your baby shower”, or “what colors will you use in the nursery?!”. I have yet to hear anyone say, “it's such an exciting time when 2 becomes 3 - and it's also super challenging because everything changes and it's all new territory. Have you talked with one another about how your relationship with one another will be shaped and stay strong when the sleep has vanished, the house-based roles shift and the finances need a review?” I get it. It's not the most hyped up and sparkly reaction one can have when you share this glorious news. But while it's not the popular thing to say, it's certainly packed with wisdom and it doesn't have to kill the joy of the moment. It's about owning the process and being intentional so you don't have to struggle as hard when the Real of parenting a newborn who changes EVERYTHING, hits. It's building scaffolding for your love relationship when it's under renovation. The results can mean having a stronger structure, and even improved decor! Couples who prepare well for this journey do better and today I want to share with you some evidence-based tips that will help you weather the reality of bringing your baby home.As a therapist who supports new parents, I wanted to make sure that I had the best knowledge and skills out there to boost and strengthen couples relationships when they are at one of their most significant reconstruction points, so I was trained through the Gottman Institute and became a certified Bringing Baby Home educator. If you listened to the last 2 episodes in this series, you heard about some of the ideas and strategies for strengthening your relationship from the renowned Gottman method. Today I plan to share some of that with you. As the evidence shows, couples who have these conversations before their little one is born or shortly after, do better down the road. Sounds worth investing in, right? Just like the ideal stroller, you won't regret it!If you want to learn more about my own uniquely designed online courses for expecting or newly parenting couples, you can find the details here:When You & Me Become Three andAdoption: What to do while you waitTo receive your free printable "Turning Towards" guide, subscribe to my podcast here, and it'll show up in your inbox.Subscribe for the guideBeen there and with you,Karen

Women's Health and Lactation Educator, Bonya Matthews, has worked in this field for years. Often she watched as the technical information shared in conferences and community groups overwhelmed already stressed out moms. She decided to do something about it and wrote her book "20 Checklists: Feed Your Infant for Free and Lose Weight" to provide simpler trainings in the new life and organizational skills a new mom has to learn on the job. The checklists cover a range of topics for infant and toddler care such as bonding with baby, how to set up a lunch milk station, weaning your baby, 20 baby dates and dealing with staying at home. She also discusses groups that help support new moms, new product ideas, along with the other topics. Bonya presents this information in a fun, up-beat manner. She calls the book her business card for the private lactation counselling, adulla information, and community appearances she makes throughout the community. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/susan-sherayko/support

Bringing baby home is exciting but it can also be a little nerve-racking when you are not sure what you can expect.  The first few days and weeks are a challenging adjustment period.  There is a lot you can do to make things easy on yourself.  Do not feel like you have to have a spotless house and be perfectly put together.  Ask for some help, especially from your partner and anyone coming over to visit and meet the baby.  Give yourself permission to take some time to figure things out and don’t feel like you have to have it all together from day one.  This episode covers everything you need to know when you bring baby home from the hospital or birth center so you can be confident when you start your parenting journey.
