The gang's all here this week! They cover White Lotus through Episode 5, Death of a Unicorn, Snow White, Nikki Glaser's recent tout, and The Electric State. Lauren is running late (you'll find out later) so Kevin and Andrew kick off the show discussing White Lotus through Episode 5. The season has been less than stellar in many ways and wildly controversial. The guys discuss a lot of what has made it less than successful and what's been working, as well as THAT scene with Sam Rockwell. While the season is finally trending upward, neither of the guys are super optimistic at this point. Andrew then takes us to the cinema with the latest A24 offering, Death of a Unicorn. While touting a solid cast, the movie somehow felt a little flat, which is not something we typically expect from an A24 offering. That said, some standout performances from Richard E. Grant and Anthony Carrigan made the film watchable, though maybe not worth rushing to the theater for. Having joined in the middle of Andrew's review of Death of a Unicorn, Lauren sticks with the fantastical and talks the new Snow White film. While Lauren doesn't feel like it's a bad film, it's not her favorite live action remake and Andrew argues that it probably SHOULD be, as it's a remake of the film that put Disney on the map. This also leads to some deeper philosophical discussion that is (probably) quite interesting. After this, Lauren takes a quick detour and talks about the stand-up show she just attended, the Nikki Glaser - Alive and Unwell Tour. She felt that it was maybe a little too "slice of life" as compared to funny, but all in all a solid show. Kevin closes the show with a quick rundown of The Electric State. Realistically, this is an OK film, but not something to get excited about. It has a fantastic cast and doesn't really do enough with it. It also steers away from the more bleak source material and goes with a more Starlord-y turn from Chris Pratt, making the film far too silly. As always, thank you for watching. If you haven't already, don't forget to Like & Subscribe. We love new viewers! Also, leave us comments and let is know how we are doing and what we can be doing better. Isn't it so annoying when people tease you with something they can't tell you about? Tom Brady is regretting his Roast, but one thing we can all agree on is that Nikki Glaser crushed it. If Vinnie starts to cry, Sarah will draw the line on making fun of him. Jackie Chan is still doing his own stunts at age 71, Keanu Reeves and Ana de Armas are fighting, and a woman sues her company after being compared to Darth Vader. Would you rather wait in line for someone at the DMV or give them a kidney?
The gang is full of energy before their live show tomorrow. Tom Brady is full of regret over his Roast, but we're still happy for Nikki Glaser. Keanu Reeves and Ana de Armas are fighting. Donating an organ to someone is no joke, but is it the right thing to do? Stephen King has another novel coming to the big screen - it sounds like torture. Plus, Timothee and Kylie make their red carpet debut, the Cyrus family saga continues, and Matty reveals his love for Disney. 3 Doors Down reminds us: If you think something is wrong, don't put off going to the doctor. You might want nachos for lunch after this.

Comedian Nikki Glaser and I spoke on the phone at 3:30 PM ET on Wednesday, July 6, 2016, not long before she was set to appear at the Just for Laughs Festival in Montreal. At the time, the prospects of Donald Trump becoming president of the United States of America seemed slim, but we discussed that, the political climate and how it influenced her incisive TV show Not Safe with Nikki Glaser, why comedians are often called upon to discuss socio-political issues, some people's bizarre worldviews, and other things too. In today's episode I had the great opportunity to speak with comedian Galina Rivina (www.galinarivina.com) about her ADHD diagnosis and how ADHD has helped her be a better comedian. Galina Rivina is a comedian and writer based in Los Angeles. Originally born and raised in Ukraine, she made it to the U.S. just in time to not have an irksome soviet accent. However, childhood as an immigrant has an undeniable influence on her writing - as does being a woman, navigating life as a millennial, and the day-to-day havoc of human existence. It's suspected that the lingering Chernobyl exposure gave her one-liners and short form storytelling that bit of the razzle dazzle. She has been performing stand-up all over the country for nearly a decade. Headlining in comedy clubs across the US and abroad, including the 2022 Cleveland Comedy Festival, the 2024 Netflix is a Joke Fest, and most recently opening on the road for Preacher Lawson. She has written for renowned standups, including Nikki Glaser and wrote for the 2019 Comedy Central Roast of Alec Baldwin. She also hosts a weekly podcast; Galina Rivina Podcastina.

Every now and then we like to Rewind to one of our favorite episodes, normally when one of us is too ill to record or has gone on vacation. At least one of those things has happened this week so we bring you one of our all time favorite episodes...Brian, Blake, and Richard were joined by a special guest for this episode of Chasing Tone Rewound - Chris Shiflett of the Foo Fighters...We have an extra special guest this week and Brian may or may not fanboy a little bit. It is of course Chris Shiflett who is a monster player with a huge back catalogue of work - including playing in one of Brian's favorite bands, the Foo Fighters. Chris has some very cool new music coming out and also has his own podcast, Walking The Floor, and we talk about some of his escapades including a rare first hand peek into international tour bus life.Chris is a super nice dude, and his stories are absolutely fascinating. The guys talk about how Blake first discovered his music. They also go deep into Chris' love of classic rock and roll, and country music, and the influences that drove him to explore country based rock further. The guys then go right back to Chris' roots and his teenage years and find out all about his earliest tastes and influences and his signature Fender guitar. Conversation turns to his different rigs and then pedals...Brian may have found his new happy place amongst all this Foo tinged pedal talk.Chris has an idea for a custom delay pedal, and gives the guys an entertaining demonstration, and it just so happens Brian knows a guy. As well as being a fantastic player and all round legend, Chris loves football, sorry "soccer", and Richard and he share a love for the same football team so speak in what Blake and Brian can only describe as a completely foreign language. Brian's head spins, and he has fallen in love with one of Chris' solo songs "Born & Raised" so plays a little clip which instantly wins Blake over too. Right at the end Chris gives us some absolute golden insights into his songwriting process which is worth the admission fee itself. This is a special episode and the team hope you enjoy it and would like to say a huge thanks to Chris for coming on - go check out his new music! There may be a swear or two in this but heck - that's rock and roll baby!Van Life, Thierry Henry, The Stone Roses, Glaser mods, Panning Tremelo, Custom Chris Shiflett Delay pedal, Mopey minor keys...it's all in this week's Chasing Tone!Check out Chris Shiflett's music here and his Podcast Here and look for him on TikTok, kids!We are on Patreon now too!Support the show (https://www.patreon.com/chasingtonepodcast)Awesome Merch and DIY mods:https://modyourownpedal.com/collections/booksFind us at:https://www.wamplerpedals.com/https://www.instagram.com/WamplerPedals/https://www.facebook.com/groups/wamplerfanpage/Youtube:https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCdVrg4Wl3vjIxonABn6RfWwContact us at: podcast@wamplerpedals.comSupport the show

What do candy bars, couches, and car dealerships have in common? For Andrew Glaser, they're all opportunities to understand how real people make decisions — and why most product teams get those decisions wrong. In this episode, Andrew shares his journey from hedge fund manager to product strategist, and now founder of Swizzle, an AI product built around Jobs to Be Done (JTBD) thinking. He opens up about how false positives, feature bloat, and over-reliance on personas lead teams down the wrong path — and what it really takes to make something customers will hire. We get into the guts of JTBD, from how to know when you've hit causality in an interview, to why understanding tradeoffs is more useful than knowing demographics. In the past few years, the comedian Nikki Glaser has breathed new life into the well-worn comedic form of the roast. Last year, she performed a roast of the football legend Tom Brady for a Netflix special, to much acclaim—with Conan O'Brien opining that “no one is going to do a better roast set than that.” Glaser has been on a hot streak since then, hosting the Golden Globes in January and touring the country with a new show. But rising to the top of the comedy world, Glaser tells David Remnick, hasn't settled her insecurities, or her impostor syndrome. “It just never goes away— that feeling of not being worthy, or being thought of as less than,” Glaser says. It's why, as Remnick notes, she insists on leading her set with a joke right out of the gate. “Part of it is I just know that people think women aren't as funny, so I have to prove it right away . . . and then, ‘Can we all just relax and you can trust me?' ”New episodes of The New Yorker Radio Hour drop every Tuesday and Friday. Brenna Posey always thought she had a good grasp on her OCD, but everything shifted when she started hearing celebrities like Luke Combs, Nikki Glaser, and Ariana Grande open up about their own mental health struggles. Their stories weren't just relatable — they were eye-opening. Luke talked about being consumed by intrusive thoughts even while performing on stage, Nikki shared how her OCD fed into an eating disorder, and Ariana described rituals that kept her trapped in a cycle. Hearing those raw, honest moments helped Brenna connect dots in her own experience that she hadn't seen before. In this video, Brenna reflects on the impact those stories had on her understanding of OCD and why celebrity voices can play a powerful role in breaking stigma. She explains how each of their perspectives helped her realize that OCD isn't one-size-fits-all, and that even people at the top of their careers are navigating the same exhausting mental loops. Most of all, it reminded her — and now hopefully you — that struggling with OCD doesn't mean you can't live a full, meaningful life.Follow us on social media:https://www.instagram.com/treatmyocd/https://twitter.com/treatmyocdhttps://www.tiktok.com/@treatmyocd
