In 2013, she graduated from the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Physical Education and became a CSEP Certified Personal Trainer. Growing up, Erin had always been involved in competitive sports and coaching, but it wasn't until she began studying health and wellness that she truly understood how important it is to live an active life. Fresh out of school she always had a full time job and also ran Fitness Bootcamps on the side. It wasn't until July of 2019 that she decided to go pedal to the medal and open up her own business, Embrace It Fitness. Erin struggled having gone through the physical changes of pregnancy and postpartum, which was really eye opening for her as a trainer. During this time, Erin became her heaviest and was not happy with the way she looked in anything but she didn't let that stop her from sharing her passion. She decided to become more knowledgeable and focus on specific demographics where she saw a void in the community. Erin then began offering moms, Mommy and Me Bootcamps and more recently Cancer and Exercise fitness classes. MSC World Europa and MSC Euribia will become the first LNG-powered vessels to join the MSC Cruises fleet next year representing an investment of €3 billion in Liquified Natutal Gas (LNG) ships with the construction on World Europa II due to commence in early 2023.These ships play an important role in the Company's commitment to achieving net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. LNG is by far the cleanest marine fuel currently available at scale and it virtually eliminates local air pollutant emissions like sulphur oxides (99%), nitrogen oxides (85%) and particles (98%). In terms of emissions with a global impact, LNG plays a key role in climate change mitigation and the engines of these two ships have the potential to reduce CO2 emissions by up to 25% compared to standard fuels. In addition, with the subsequent availability of Bio and Synthetic forms of LNG, this energy source will provide a pathway toward eventual decarbonized operations. It was also revealed that MSC Cruises and the Chantiers de l'Atlantique confirmed the installation of a fuel cell pilot plant on board MSC World Europa known as Blue Horizon. The technology will use LNG to convert fuel into electricity at one of the highest efficiencies of any power solution available today, producing electricity and heat on board. The fuel cell technology selected by Chantiers de l'Atlantique (CdA) and MSC Cruises is the SOFC (Solid Oxide Fuel Cell) developed by Bloom Energy. The SOFC will reduce emissions of greenhouse gases (GHG) by about a further 30 percent compared with a conventional LNG engine without producing emissions of nitrogen oxides, sulphur oxides or fine particles. It also offers the advantage of being compatible with LNG, as well as several low carbon fuels such as types of methanol, ammonia and hydrogen. This project will form the building block for future larger installations and the beginning of an even closer collaboration between MSC Cruises and Chantier de L'Atlantique on R&D of fuel cell technology. The traditional coin ceremony tradition took place as the keel was laid for MSC Cruises' second LNG-powered ship, MSC Euribia, which will be one of the most environmentally high performing contemporary vessels built in France. Anne Claire Juventin Responsible for Quality Control from the Chantiers de l'Atlantique, and Valentina Mancini, Brand Manager from MSC Cruises performed the traditional maritime ritual as godmothers representing the ship owner and the shipbuilder when they placed two coins under the keel as the historical sign of blessing and good fortune for the project, and the ship's operational life at sea.The float out of MSC World Europa, which will be the first LNG-powered vessel to join the MSC Cruises fleet took place at the shipyard in Saint-Nazaire where she will now be moved to a wet dock for work to continue on the ship until her delivery in November 2022.NCL Homeports in Panama City Norwegian Cruise Line, will become the first cruise line to homeport in Panama City, Panama, offering roundtrip Panama Canal voyages beginning 20 March 2022 with Norwegian Jewel.NCLK (Parent company of NCL) signed a multi-year agreement with the Panama Tourism Authority which allows the Company to seasonally homeport at the Colon Cruise Terminal as well as at Fuerte Amador Cruise Terminal located on the Pacific Ocean side of the country and adjacent to Panama City.In 2022 and 2023 the Company will offer 12 homeport voyages starting with Norwegian Jewel on 20 March 2022 where she will sail a nine-day itinerary traversing the Panama Canal and visiting incredible destinations including Puerto Limon, Costa Rica; Oranjestad, Aruba; Willemstad, Curaçao; Kralendijk, Bonaire and Cartagena, Colombia before arriving to the Caribbean side of Panama in the city of Colon.Starting 14 January 2023, Norwegian Gem will also feature select Panama Canal voyages including an 11-day journey visiting seven ports of call, including Puerto Limon, Costa Rica; Oranjestad, Aruba; Willemstad, Curaçao; Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic and Grand Turk, Turks & Caicos Islands before ending in New York City. The WOMB Vaughan is an Integrative Health and Fitness Centre with a special focus on all things fertility, pregnancy, postpartum, babies, children and family care. We have a warm and nurturing team of practitioners in a comfortable, loving, and clean environment. A few of our main services include Naturopathy, Registered Massage Therapy, Chiropractic Care, Pelvic Health Physiotherapy, Counselling, Doula Services, and much more! We also offer a variety of fitness classes, baby classes, and childbirth / parenting education classes. The WOMB was founded in Milton in 2014 and there are currently 4 locations in Ontario. Suzanne discovered The WOMB in 2015, when she visited the Milton location to take a course and immediately fell in love. She questioned how it was possible that a place like this did not exist in Vaughan! She sat down with Lorri Fleming (WOMB co-founder) late in 2016 to start the conversation and 4 years later here we are! Suzanne is the founder and owner of CLG Fitness, offering in-home personal training services. She primarily works with pregnant and post-partum women in Vaughan and surrounding areas. She is a Bellies Inc. Core Confidence Specialist, teaching women how to connect with their pelvic floor in exercise, and helping with many common post-partum concerns including diastasis recti and incontinence. In addition, Suzanne holds a Bachelor of Commerce from McGill University and a Holistic Nutritionist certification from Edison Institute of Nutrition. She is also a Personal Trainer and Group Fitness Instructor through Canfitpro. The moment when Suzanne realized that she wanted her career to specialize in pregnant women was in 2013 when she was pregnant with her daughter Abby. She was surprised at how few resources and available pre-natal classes there seemed to be at the time! Now Suzanne is a proud mother to two amazing girls, Abby and Chelsea and enjoys spending quality family time with them and her husband Josef. Suzanne also loves cooking, baking, (and eating!) vegetarian food, fitness & yoga, dancing, travel, theatre, reading, and watching The Young and the Restless! We've long said it, but how you live has a bearing on how you die. Dying well starts with living well. Being ready, being prepared, being reconciled, being happy and at peace with the way you treat yourself and others - they're all factors. Everyone has their own version of 'living well'.In these pandemic times, health, fitness and well-being have come to the fore so we have the perfect guest to discuss the drive to live better - Elliott Reid. Elliott is the founder of the Revitalize Health and Fitness Centre in Gravesend, Kent and is an osteopath and personal trainer. He is on a quest to help people deal with pain and walk a better path. 'The Voice from the Chaplain's Chair' comes from Maria Parker. Maria's a Catholic chaplain at Southport and Ormskirk Hospital and Queenscourt Hospice. Hospitals and hospices have come under the microscope in recent months with patient care and accompaniment so vitally important. We take a look at hospital and hospice chaplaincy - something that is as much a calling as a job.
In Episode 9, Jenelle Leat and I pick up where we left off from our conversation in Episode 8. We speak about how a one night stand turned into her greatest love, becoming a Mum to her little girl Poppy and the decision to open her own Yoga Studio. She speaks about her choice to ‘Unschool' Poppy and shares more about this philosophy of parenting & education. Jenelle owns New Standard Yoga and Fitness Centre in Caloundra where she lives with her husband Bradley and daughter Poppy. You can follow her adventures on Instagram @newstandardyogaandfitness.
This episode is Part 1 of a two part conversation with Jenelle Leat. Jenelle is very open in her sharing of being a part of the Bikram Yoga Community, her own sexual assault experience with Bikram and the power of speaking the truth. If the topic of sexual assault is triggering, I recommend skipping to the next part of our conversation. Both Jenelle and I share our experiences of transitioning away from the Bikram Community and the challenges that came along with that decision. Jenelle is a mother, wife and business owner. She owns New Standard Yoga and Fitness Centre and you can follow her on Instagram @newstandardyogaandfitness or can visit her website www.nsyfc.com.au.

How can we grow as entrepreneurs? What is the determining factor for growth? On this episode we find that out! Carlo was immersed in the family catering business from the age of 5; he saw his parents toil and work in a tough and grueling environment. Carlo helped with tending bar, waiting tables, washing dishes, and any required kitchen help. He even assembled entire weddings on his own. During this time, he became aware of the sociological aspects of the event industry. In conjunction with his father in the 1980's, Carlo opened "Le Jardin de Toronto Banquet Hall" as a one-room banquet facility. A year later, Carlo purchased the business completely and opened a second room on the premises. Sales increased by 65% in one year. In 1995, Carlo took over the catering operations at Hunters' Glen Golf Club in Kleinburg. Sales at Hunters' Glen increased by over 300% the first year and to over 450% in the second year with the addition of a tent facility and then a second tent facility. In 1998, he opened the Private Box catering of the newly created Hershey Centre in Mississauga, as well as, managed the operations of the Icebreakers Sports Café at Iceland Hockey Arena.. In 2005, he developed 230 residential lots in Barrie, Ontario at the corner of Yonge Street and Mapleview Drive. The development has now increased to almost 2000 residential units with a GO Train Station next to the subdivision. In 2007, came the renovation which doubled the original wing of Le Jardin Special Event Centre: sales increased by 30%. This is to be the façade of the new and upcoming Hotel, planned for 2013. Carlo has also been developing a proprietary catering software system, called, CaterX, www.CaterX.ca, to be marketed in the near future. In 2009, Carlo purchased www.FindABanquetHall.com, an Event Venue directory and revamped it. This was a dormant website which now appears on the first page of Google when searching for Banquet Halls, ahead of all its competitors, such as Yellow Pages, Menu Palace, Event Source, etc. Carlo is the creative force behind Long Valley Productions: the parent company of Last Bride Standing, Toronto's Bridal Show, and FindABanquetHall.com. During 2009, Carlo created the TV Show and Contest, “Last Bride Standing” which became a hit over two seasons in Canada on Sun TV. It taped its fourth Season in HD, as well as 3D - the first Reality TV show in the history of the world to be filmed in 3D. The first two seasons are presently airing in the US on Wedding Central with distribution deals being negotiated with Britain, Australia, France and Dubai. Last Bride Standing is also the very first 3D reality show ever filmed. The 3D season released in Fall 2011. In 2010, he created “Toronto's Bridal Show”, which became the Bridal Show to attend. The live taping of Last Bride Standing was held at the show, and has now become the second largest show by attendees and vendors out of six shows in less than one year in Toronto. Carlo has since sold the show. In 2012, he created “Yo Amo Tacos Bar ‘n Grill” in Playa del Carmen, Mexico and then in 2014 created the same restaurant concept in Toronto (Woodbridge). Carlo is presently working on the final expansion of Le Jardin, with the addition of a new Marriott Hotel, Tribute Portfolio, called Hotel Vie, Conference & Spa, adjacent to the existing 80,000 sq. ft. Event Venue. The Hotel will boast 254 guest suites and 54 office suites. There will be 3 restaurants: CLJ Restaurant & Enoteca and Monet Courtyard, a 5 Star 200-seat restaurant and patio, , as well as Le Marche de Joe, a boulangerie and Café with an outdoor patio and La Terrasse” a Rooftop Pool/Lounge + Restaurant. There will also be an Outdoor Tented Courtyard for private events, Le Jardin Courtyard, an Indoor Pool & Fitness Centre, Le Salle de Gym, an 8,000 sq. ft. Spa, Giverny Spa, and a Private Members' Wine Club, Le Club de Vin.

Richard Marek from the Kellerberrin Men's Shed let us know about some great things happening, the restoration of another beauty of a machine, this one from 1939, some tickets are left for the raffle at the CRC for the wonderful table that they made and there's the possible creation of a Sheila's Shed on the cards which is pretty fantastic. Business Guru Barry Urqhart from Marketing Focus had a chat with me this morning about Sponsorships and Branding which was really interesting. Davo dropped by with the goods, the goods being coffee and we had bit of banter about the possibility of him joining me at t gym class at the Merredin Squash and Fitness Centre. 000 prank calls are going to start having harsher penalties as the stats reflect some pretty shocking instances of the last year here in Aus. Zsa Zsa Gabor's estate is being auctioned off and there is some serious cash flow being exchanged for her belongings.

Dean Maden is one of life’s nice guys. With Dean’s large and impressive physique comes and even bigger heart. Dean a family man and owner of his own Fitness Facility in Loughborough called the Functional Fitness Centre. It’s here that he regularly transforms people as much mentally as he does physically. Listening to Dean speak about Health & Fitness his passion for both his own achievements as well as his clients results shines through. Not only does Dean own and run a successful private gym but he is also in the middle of competing in Strongman Competitions with the aim of getting to The World’s Strongest Man. What makes this feat so impressive is that when he was younger he suffered a debilitating injury that the doctors said he would never come back from. They told him he wouldn’t be able to squat ever again. Dean obviously ignored this “advice” and had his own ideas on whether this would be the end of the line for him. Needless to say he beat the odds and he not only is squatting again but he is doing so with weight that makes people stand in shock. In the interview we cover: Dean’s Journey Into The Fitness World How The Army Changed Him Physically How Dean Came Back From Serious Injury How Laziness Got Him Into Powerlifting Why Eating Clean Gets Him Funny Looks Why Women Should Be Lifting Weights How Eating More Food Gets His Clients To Lose Fat & Much More It’s important to me to have guest on who know their stuff and can share their knowledge with you. However, more important than that is getting guests on who can share their experiences with you. Listening to people that have broken through barriers and beat the odds is both inspirational and motivating and lets us know that statistics mean nothing to the individual and that you are the true leader on your journey. That’s exactly what Dean has reminded us today. You can find Dean here: https://www.facebook.com/funcfitcentre/ Enjoy the show and as always don’t forget to share it with your friends and family, as well as writing a review on iTunes.
