Eat Sleep Cruise was selected by Porthole Cruise Magazine to its list of the top 10 Cruise Influencers of 2019. Eat Sleep Cruise has been quoted regularly in places like Forbes, CNBC, AARP  magazine, and Porthole Cruise Magazine. Don and Heidi have sailed all the major mega-ships; they tend to try out every major new ship that is launched; and, they also have also sailed on more intimate vessels to unique destinations like the high-end Viking Ocean Cruises, and Windstar Cruises. They have sailed throughout the Caribbean and Bahamas, Alaska, Hawaii, Cuba, Bermuda, Ireland, Iceland, and Northern Europe and have experienced bucket list excursions like helicopter tours in both Alaska and Hawaii;  a glacier walk in Alaska, exploring Chacchoben Mayan Ruins in Costa Maya, Mexico;  a stop in St. Petersburg, Russia where they visited the Hermitage Museum and attended the Russian Ballet; Berlin where Heidi and Don saw the Berlin Cathedral, the Brandenburg Gate, Checkpoint Charlie, and visited the remnants of the Berlin Wall; the Game of Thrones tour on a visit to Northern Ireland. And, they have visited some of the world's best beaches including Horseshoe Bay Beach in Bermuda, Eagle Beach in Aruba, Waikiki Beach in Oahu, White Bay Beach in Jost Van Dyke in the British Virgin Islands, and the Baths at Virgin Gorda. After water had filled the drydock, tugboats manoeuvred the vessel from one of the world's largest enclosed construction halls into the adjacent harbour. Set to become the 12th ship in the leading ultra-luxury cruise line's fleet when she launches in summer 2023, Silver Nova will be the most environmentally conscious ultra-luxury cruise ship ever built.Excitement ran high among onlookers at the Meyer Werft shipyard as the construction hall's doors parted ahead of the ship's repositioning. In a matter of hours, Silver Nova was positioned alongside the pier in the neighbouring harbour basin, where the fitting out phase will continue. Commemorating the important milestone and in observance of shipbuilding traditions, Captain Cosimo Pontillo welded a special coin to a wall on the pool deck, which will remain visible to the ship's future guests as a symbol of good luck. Silver Ray is set to join her sister ship, Silver Nova℠, as one of the most environmentally conscious ships ever built when she launches in summer 2024. The onboard team released a bottle made of ice that was broken against the ship, a time-honored ship naming tradition. The ship's guests and team were all smiles throughout the ceremony, warmed by their complimentary Seabourn expedition-grade parkas while toasting Seabourn Venture.Though Seabourn Venture launched on July 27, 2022, in Tromsø, Norway, Seabourn chose Antarctica for the naming ceremony as the southernmost continent represents everything for which the ship is intended. Presumable they are not new builds?Cruise NewsP&O Cruises Pacific Encounter on the Way from Singapore to Join Flagship Pacific Explorer in AustraliaPacific Encounter, the latest addition to the P&O Cruises Australia fleet, today sailed from Singapore on her way to Australia, another step in the revival of Australia's $5 billion a year cruise industry.Pacific Encounter will sail into Sydney Harbour on August 2 where flagship Pacific Explorer is already home ported having become the first of Australia's home-grown cruise line to return home after more than two years.Encounter's time in Sydney will be a relatively ‘brief encounter' before heading to Brisbane where she will continue the long tradition of basing P&O ships at the epicentre of the Queensland cruise market.Pacific Encounter will depart on her first guest cruise from Brisbane on August 20, a 7-night Barrier Reef Discovery Cruise.Silversea acquires Crystal Endeavor Royal Caribbean Group has been confirmed as the purchaser of the Crystal Endeavor expedition yacht which was on the auction block following the collapse of Crystal Cruises parent Genting Hong Kong. The ship will sail under RCG's Silversea Cruises brand as Silver Endeavour – the fifth expedition ship in the line's 11-strong fleet – with the company paying USD$275 million for the vessel. The purchase price is significantly less than the USD$385 million which Genting Hong Kong paid for the ship's construction, making it the most expensive passenger ship ever built at USD$1.9m per berth.Endeavour, which was delivered to Crystal just last year has capacity for 200 guests, as well as a submarine and helicopter, which Silversea MD Roberto Martinoli said would no longer be part of its offering. She will sail in Antarctica in place of the 132-guest Silver Explorer, with guests booked on that ship to be moved to Endeavour.Costa Group Starts the use of Bio FuelsA few weeks after announcing the creation of its dedicated decarbonization department, the Costa Group, Europe's leading cruise operator with its two companies Costa Cruises and AIDA Cruises, and a member of Carnival Corporation & plc, has taken a major step forward in its decarbonization strategy by announcing that it will start testing the usage of biofuel aboard one of its AIDA Cruises ships. As part of its CO2 emissions reduction efforts, on July 21, 2022, AIDAprima became the first larger scale cruise ship to be bunkered with a blend of marine biofuel, which is made from 100 percent sustainable raw materials such as waste cooking oil, and marine gas oil (MGO) during its layover in Rotterdam. The cooperation partner is the Dutch biofuel pioneer GoodFuels. AIDAprima is currently sailing on seven-day voyages to the metropolises of Western Europe and to Norway from/to Hamburg. The current project represents an important milestone of the Costa Group's decarbonization strategy, which includes testing technologies and processes to improve the efficiency of the existing fleet. With the successful start of biofuel usage, it will be proven that gradual decarbonization is possible even on ships already in service. An important prerequisite to be able to use biofuels, however, is that it becomes widely available on an industrial scale and at marketable prices.Carnival Cruise Line Brings Texas Flair to Carnival Jubilee's Keel Laying CeremonyCarnival Jubilee is fixing to start sailing from Galveston, Texas, next year and Carnival Cruise Line's third cruise ship to be powered by liquified natural gas (LNG) got its first taste of Texas today with the keel laying ceremony at Meyer Werft in Papenburg, Germany.Wearing cowboy-shaped hard hats, Carnival Cruise Line President Christine Duffy was joined by Meyer Werft Managing Director Bernard Meyer and Carnival's Senior Vice President of Newbuilds Ben Clement, among others, to celebrate the construction milestone by placing coins under a 375-ton keel block. The coins signify good luck for the ship and will remain under its foundation as the structure is built. One of the ship's lucky coins is an official ship coin, which commemorates an important part of Carnival history while celebrating its future by showing Carnival Jubilee alongside the original MS Jubilee from 1986. The coins will later be placed in a special compartment near Carnival Jubilee's mast as permanent fixtures of the ship.Carnival Jubilee will be the first Carnival Cruise Line ship built in Papenburg, Germany. Meyer Werft has already built four other LNG-powered ships for other cruise lines under Carnival Corporation. Carnival Jubilee will be Carnival's third ship to run on a liquified natural gas (LNG) technology platform. Carnival Corporation pioneered the introduction of LNG fuel in the passenger cruise sector as part of the company's ongoing commitment to sustainability and emissions reduction. Meyer Turku in Finland delivered sister ship Mardi Gras last year and will deliver Carnival Celebration later this year.Carnival Jubilee will begin sailing from Galveston in November of 2023 and will offer seven-day Western Caribbean cruise vacations with stops in Cozumel and Costa Maya, Mexico, as well as Mahogany Bay (Isla Roatan), Honduras.Virgin Voyages relaxes Voyage Well In response to the conclusion of the CDC's voluntary program, Virgin Voyages will continue to consider the recommendations set forth by the organization, while also adhering to the industry policies outlined by CLIA. As a result of this update, Virgin Voyages will remove the requirements for pre-embarkation testing.Virgin Voyages has responded immediately to the CDC's decision to discontinue their voluntary COVID-19 Program for Cruise Ships and will mirror the rest of the travel industry in removing pre-embarkation testing for sailings from July 24 on EU sailings, and from July 27 on US sailings. Vaccine requirements will remain in place for both Scarlet Lady, operating out of the US, and Valiant Lady in the EU. Virgin Voyages is currently evaluating this policy and will announce further updates in the near future.Passenger and crew well-being is the major focus and they continue to follow the advice of their expert medical team. To clarify these updates:From the dates mentioned above, passengers will no longer be required to complete a pre-embarkation COVID test, applicable across the fleet, including US and EU operations. For US sailings, passenger vaccination requirements will now be marked at 90%. This opens the opportunity for passengers who are not vaccinated to contact Virgin Voyages' Sailor Services to book a sailing if these thresholds are met.Ship crew on all US and EU sailings will maintain their fully vaccinated status.Holland America Line Reveals Plans to Mark 150th AnniversaryOn April 18, 2023, Holland America Line is celebrating its 150th Anniversary — making it one of the longest-operating travel companies in the world. Despite adverse weather conditions, Captain Sinisi was able to ensure the safety of his guests while simultaneously putting in place a timely intervention, which turned out to be providential for the success of the rescue operations. With his behavior, he brought prestige to the image of Italian Navy in the institutional framework.”The rescue that is referred to happened on November 21, 2018. At around midnight, Costa Luminosa – sailing south of the Peloponnese and heading towards the port of Katakolon – received a distress call from the Greek Coast Guard's Rescue Coordination Center. Commander Sinisi was asked to provide aid to the motor vessel “Kilic,” a cargo ship used to transport fish, which was in serious trouble due to an outbreak of fire on board. The crew of eleven men were rescued by a Costa Luminosa tender steered by Safety Officer Marco Genovese, and then transshipped to another cargo ship previously involved in operations by the Greek Coast GuardAnd more...Join the show:If you have a cruise tip, burning question or want to record a cruise review get in touch with us via the website https://thebigcruisepodcast.com/join-the-show/ Guests: Chris Frame: https://bit.ly/3a4aBCg   Chris's Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/c/ChrisFrameOfficialPeter Kollar: https://www.cruising.org.au/Home Listen & Subscribe: Amazon Podcasts: https://amzn.to/3w40cDcApple Podcasts: https://apple.co/2XvD7tF Audible: https://adbl.co/3nDvuNgCastbox: https://bit.ly/2xkGBEI Google Podcasts: https://bit.ly/2RuY04u I heart Radio:  https://ihr.fm/3mVIEUASpotify: https://spoti.fi/3caCwl8 Stitcher: https://bit.ly/2JWE8Tz Pocket casts: https://bit.ly/2JY4J2M Tune in: https://bit.ly/2V0Jrrs Podcast Addict: https://bit.ly/2BF6LnE Hosted on Acast. The SOFC will reduce emissions of greenhouse gases (GHG) by about a further 30 percent compared with a conventional LNG engine without producing emissions of nitrogen oxides, sulphur oxides or fine particles.  It also offers the advantage of being compatible with LNG, as well as several low carbon fuels such as types of methanol, ammonia and hydrogen. This project will form the building block for future larger installations and the beginning of an even closer collaboration between MSC Cruises and Chantier de L'Atlantique on R&D of fuel cell technology. The traditional coin ceremony tradition took place as the keel was laid for MSC Cruises' second LNG-powered ship, MSC Euribia, which will be one of the most environmentally high performing contemporary vessels built in France. Anne Claire Juventin Responsible for Quality Control from the Chantiers de l'Atlantique, and Valentina Mancini, Brand Manager from MSC Cruises performed the traditional maritime ritual as godmothers representing the ship owner and the shipbuilder when they placed two coins under the keel as the historical sign of blessing and good fortune for the project, and the ship's operational life at sea.The float out of MSC World Europa, which will be the first LNG-powered vessel to join the MSC Cruises fleet took place at the shipyard in Saint-Nazaire where she will now be moved to a wet dock for work to continue on the ship until her delivery in November 2022.NCL Homeports in Panama City Norwegian Cruise Line, will become the first cruise line to homeport in Panama City, Panama, offering roundtrip Panama Canal voyages beginning 20 March 2022 with Norwegian Jewel.NCLK (Parent company of NCL) signed a multi-year agreement with the Panama Tourism Authority which allows the Company to seasonally homeport at the Colon Cruise Terminal as well as at Fuerte Amador Cruise Terminal located on the Pacific Ocean side of the country and adjacent to Panama City.In 2022 and 2023 the Company will offer 12 homeport voyages starting with Norwegian Jewel on 20 March 2022 where she will sail a nine-day itinerary traversing the Panama Canal and visiting incredible destinations including Puerto Limon, Costa Rica; Oranjestad, Aruba; Willemstad, Curaçao; Kralendijk, Bonaire and Cartagena, Colombia before arriving to the Caribbean side of Panama in the city of Colon.Starting 14 January 2023, Norwegian Gem will also feature select Panama Canal voyages including an 11-day journey visiting seven ports of call, including Puerto Limon, Costa Rica; Oranjestad, Aruba; Willemstad, Curaçao; Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic and Grand Turk, Turks & Caicos Islands before ending in New York City. This marks the first new full-length album from the Los Angeles rock legends since 2018's Temporary Things Taking Up Space EP. The album's eleven tracks were coproduced by Dead Sara's drummer/programmer Sean Friday along with Noah Shain, who previously produced, mixed, and engineered the band's previous two albums, Dead Sara (2012) and Pleasure To Meet You (2015).To date, Dead Sara have released a pair of acclaimed tracks from AIN'T IT TRAGIC – “Hands Up” and “Heroes” – which have been critically praised as “explosive” by Loudwire and “raw and heavy” by Consequence of Sound. This will result in added direct and indirect economic benefit for the city and region as more international guests will transit through Barcelona, likely spending additional days in the city either before or after their cruise. The new terminal, which will feature shore power facilities and be ready for LNG bunkering operations, will also allow MSC Cruises to deploy more next-generation, environmentally friendly ships in Barcelona. Her first sailing as restrictions lift will see her depart Tilbury on Sunday June 27 on a six-night Scottish Highlands and Islands cruise. It will then go on to complete two, six-night itineraries from the Northern Isles to the Fjords* on July 3 and 25 respectively, and in between will take in a Great British Isles Adventure cruise from July 11 for 14 nights. When she is at full capacity, Spirit of Discovery will accommodate 999 guests across 554 cabins, although this number is being capped further for these initial cruises to observe Covid protocols. At this stage, the 540-strong crew are joining the ship over the coming days ahead. Many are returning crew members so regular guests will recognise friendly faces.Once on-board the crew will re-familiarise themselves with the ship and their roles as well as go through extensive Covid-protocol training ahead of any guests arriving on board. The ship will also undertake a number of sea trials, which enable the crew to practice and refine key elements like breakfast, lunch and dinner service, theatrical performances, the daily cleaning routine, and restocking at ports. And they'll need to be well practised, as it takes nearly five days to load the ship with all the supplies needed for her first cruise around the British Isles. During a normal port of call, restocking of the ship takes around 10 hours as food, drink and supplies are brought on board. While she was in dock over the past year, the maintenance crew also took time to invest in further improvements including the installation of handwashing stations at the entrance to all the restaurants.Princess Expands Medallion capabilities Princess is introducing a new on-demand service that allows guests to call a crew member to their exact location to make an in-person request for assistanceCrewCallTM service on demand is available on stateroom TVs as well as the MedallionClass app and leverages the innovative OceanMedallion wearable to guide a crew member to a guest's exact location to be of service to the guest. The new capability is yet another example of how Princess is leveraging MedallionClass technology to increase high-touch and personalized service versus replacing it.The corresponding CrewCall Chat feature lets guests text their specific question or request using a smart device to be answered or actioned virtually by crew.Cruise Ferry Accommodation for 1,000 Police Officers and Staff During G7 Summit in Cornwall, UKMS Silja Europa, to serve as housing for 1,000 of the estimated 6,500 police officers tasked with providing security for the high-profile leaders attending the 2021 G7 Summit scheduled for June 11-13 in Carbis Bay, Cornwall, England. This is the first in person meeting of the G7 in two years and is the largest police operation in England this year. Escuchar audio

This week's episode features Heather Johnson who, originally from New Jersey, now runs a rescue in a remote area of Mexico - sounds fun, right?  Well, Heather wakes up morning saying, "Oh Fuck!", then reminds herself how brave these dogs are. The SnipPet Tip dives into the importance of transferable skills taught using opportunity-driven rewards to establish the platform that goes with the dog to the adopter to change the dog's perception of the new "two-legger".  Phew!  Confused? Intrigued? Check out this episode and the 4 part mini-series at the beginning of this podcast. Season 5 is a "Dogology" (kinda like a mixology) of tips, Q and A's, interviews, discussions and a deeper look into the 3 components of UPWARD Dogology all with the goal of increasing awareness and making the world a better place for all animals, including humans! Season 4 is interviews with people and organizations that help animals. Increase your awareness and be part of the solution by listening, sharing, and reviewing.  Season 3 dives deep into trending methods. Are they right for you and your dog? Season 2 shares the learning journey of my clients with dogs with different issues and backgrounds; always interesting and a great way to feel a connections with others who have similar experiences.  Season 1 starts by sharing my unique learning journey and then dives into why positive reinforcement training (and practices under that "umbrellas") are often limiting, ineffective and/or counter-productive with dogs over 6 months. It finishes with an introduction into cognitive behavioural therapy and UPWARD Dogology. Wisdom-Trek / Creating a LegacyWelcome to Day 549 of our Wisdom-Trek, and thank you for joining me.This is Guthrie Chamberlain, Your Guide to WisdomAttitude – The Tools in Gramps' Backpack Thank you for joining us for our 5 days per week wisdom and legacy building podcast. This is https://wisdom-trek.com/captivate-podcast/day-549/ (Day 549) of our trek, and we are hiking a series of trails called The Tools in Gramps' Backpack. Each Monday for a total of 20 weeks we will explore a different tool that is needed to equip parents and grandparents to train their children and grandchildren to be successful on their trek of life. If you don't have children or grandchildren of your own, use these tools to train others that you do influence. Today the eighth tool from Gramps' Backpack is Attitude.  We are broadcasting from our studio at The Big House in Marietta, Ohio. As I am recording this trek, we have just arrived back from the podcasters cruise to Costa Maya and Cozumel, Mexico. The cruise was filled with great content, friends, and fun and was an investment that will produce a good return. When this trek originally airs, I will also have been to Arizona for a week and now back in Marietta. February has been a month of nearly constant travel, but we are certainly enjoying the journey. We do head back to Charlotte this weekend for a meeting on Friday and to watch a roller derby bout on Saturday that our youngest daughter Janet is participating in. While traveling can be stressful if we allow it to be, one attribute that helps us as we keep moving forward is to choose to maintain a proper attitude at all times. For a family or any organization to maintain a proper attitude, the leaders must have a good and proper attitude. This tool is one of the most crucial tools for our lives, so let us open Gramps' backpack today as we explore the tool of… AttitudeThe attitude of the parents and grandparents sets the tone for the entire family. This continues to be true for parents with grown children as you will always have an impact on your children regardless of their age. The importance of your attitude also applies to anyone that you lead or influence. The Christian life is a cause for celebration, but at times, life is difficult, and we don't feel much like celebrating. In fact, when the weight of the world seems to bear down on your shoulders, celebration may be the last thing on your mind. When you find yourself in this situation, it is imperative to understand that your attitude should not be controlled by external circumstances and feelings, but by your core beliefs. I know this is easier to say than to put into practice, but you can grow to this level. As God's children, we are all blessed beyond measure on good days and bad. This day is a non-renewable resource. Once it is gone, it's gone forever. You should give thanks for this day while using it for the glory of God, regardless of the particular circumstances that you may be facing. What will be your attitude today? Will you be fearful, angry, bored, or worried? Will you be cynical, bitter, or pessimistic? Will you be joyful, content, peaceful, and satisfied? The Apostle Paul wrote in https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Philippians+2%3A5&version=NLT (Philippians 2:5), “You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had.” If you analyze this verse, you will realize that this is not only a command but also an implication that it is your choice, completely within your control. God created you in His own image, and He desires you to experience joy and abundance, or in other words, a rich and satisfying life. God created us with free will and the ability to choose. God will not force His joy on you; you must choose it yourself. So today and every day hereafter, celebrate the life that God has given you. Yes, some days...
